not sure why i'm digging so far back for this ask but... km 31 from 2006... fucked me & my cousins UP when we were kids i STILL fuckin remember the plot so clearly like it might be shite quality i don't remember but it STAYS w you none of us forgot it

have u seen melancholia 2011. can i say it deserves more hype than the other two lars von trier movies that get way too much hype (even tho the house that jack built is cool as !fuck!) like it. makes you feel very hollow i think it hits so well

lake mungo 2008 also rearranges u like that u never know where it's going it won't allow u to think you've figured it out it's really cool

i will namedrop creep 2014. bc. it's not exactly slasher and it's just really fucking weird it gets under your skin really well & i love it so so much

martyrs 2009. like. i do feel like a better person for watching it. but it does like. get worse w time like immediately after watching it i felt like it wasn't as bad as anticipated but now thinking back on it makes my throat dry it's great

the orphanage 2007. my God. i love ghost mvoies that have a cool story to figure out + make u sad those are my fuckin faves watch the orphanage NOW if there is ONE movy from this list u decide to watch let it be the orphanage omg

i Want to say the grudge & the ring original AND remakes (not the latest ones tho they always push it too far) deserve the world there is something abt female ghost w long black hair man. it is truly so effective and not many movys have traumatized me like those as a kid OR big boy i'm still too scared that it'll fuck me up to watch them alone !!

other bonus one if u can even consider it horror everyone in the world should see zombieland 2009 at least once one of my most beloved movies ever it's family to me

in general i think. might be controversial but i do think non-slasher horrors peaked like. in the 2000s to mid 2010s w some cool stuff from 2019 forward w the a24 era that i do not mind at all i think they're cool but the. badness and tackyness from earlier 2000s is perfect
