thoughts on how the Liyue Archon quest went [9]
LAST ONE I SWEAR.
i feel like the Rite of Parting takes place a day or something after the Northland Bank confrontation, but again i'm too lazy to check. either way, Lumi and Kaeya ARE still kinda injured from the whole fight w/ Childe, so they DO have to rest at least for like a day??? idr the timeline in the actual game, but i. Do. what i. want. these scars are prolly gonna last, too,,,,
the rest of this is just my personal h/c of the Rite of Parting. specifically the bit where Keqing asks Lumi what they can do in thanks, and Lumi's like 'how about some missing persons posters?'
and this time i feel like it's fine if they do just do missing persons posters here. like genuinely Lumi's like 'well, so far i've got the companions i need, so there's no biggie', but even then Ningguang and Keqing prolly have eyes all over the place looking for her brother. but still, Lumi strolling up after saving the harbor from an ancient god and just being like 'how abt helping me put up posters' is just so FUCKING FUNNY???? LIKE GIRL,,,
anyway i think it's the literal coolest, literally the silliest goofiest thing. meanwhile Kaeya's like 'well dw i can at least utilize ur hero status to do my job as an envoy', which he does.
the conversation with Zhongli is a little less tense, since time has passed since their confrontation w/ him and Signora in the Golden House (and also b/c neither Harbinger is there at the moment, fyi).
i feel like Lumi is a little more open to hearing his side of things and how he explains things, and Kaeya's mostly just wary of Zhongli (but still empathetic b/c man, this guys been alive for an unfathomably large amt of time). i like to think that the conversation starts out pretty tense, but then they get to the topic of Mora and Lumi and Kaeya are once again amused by Zhongli's complete and utter Mora blindness. Kaeya's a little concerned abt the whole 'no more Mora' thing, until Lumi points out that the Leylines blossoms kinda give up Mora so maybe it'll be fine.
also i feel like Zhongli probably tries and gets them to go rest after a little while, b/c again,,, they're still a bit injured,,, and he is Concerned(tm),,,
(side not: speaking of Leyline blossoms, i genuinely have a thought abt this. b/c Mora is both money and a catalyst, so when u use it to upgrade things, i feel like it's just put into the Leylines and u can just obtain it that way??? but idk how much stock ppl might put into that)
anyway, this is the end of my h/c's for the Liyue Archon quest, but trust me when i say that the Adventuring Rambles are silly :)c
also Inazuma IS next, but,,, again,,, curse that damn place,,,, (no offense to Inazuma lovers)

CUDDLING.
“you’ll put me to sleep at this rate.”
“its not like i’m going anywhere anytime soon. i like you here, in this moment. just sleep.”
— there’s absolutely nothing better than hearing your beating heart while he rests over you. no better feeling than your hands carding through his hair, braiding a few small pieces he was sure not to remove. he listens to your absentminded humming, your muted whispers about how soft his hair is, and the delighted thrum of your heart. his hand finds your unoccupied one and you were quick to interlock fingers, a reassuring squeeze following shortly after. maybe a small nap wouldn’t be so bad, little did he know you weren’t that far behind him.

been up ever since i heard your ringtone, are you alright? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 2:23 am (read)
— you have a different ringtone from everyone else in his contacts for times like this. honestly, it doesn’t matter if you want to rant, call, or even plan something like going for a walk, his answer will always be yes. its the yearning need to hear you laugh over the phone, even if he did see you three hours ago. babble on about the first thing that comes to your mind, watching you light up as you spoke. he’s sure he has heart eyes as his pupils as he takes you in for the umpteenth time tonight.

“sorry, i’m talking your ear off.”
“no, keep talking. i love your voice. what happened then?”
— its the complete adoration and love swirling in your eyes that makes him lose his train of thought. he notices when he turns to see if you’re still following, the smile adorning your face spreads wider under his gaze. what are you trying to do? give him a heart attack? don’t look at him like that (please do, he’s literally in shambles.) you’re so willing to listen to him even when you dont understand the topic. give me a night, ill have it all memorized and we can talk about it together, you’d say. how could you be so perfect?

D.I.YING CLOTHES TOGETHER.
“and then the needle goes through here…”
“please don’t poke yourself—”
— you texted him about some moss embroidery on a sweater you had saw on pinterest and he was already on his way to pick you up and run to the nearest store for yarn and string. he found two old similar sweaters in the depths of his drawers and you were quick to get to work. he could barely pay attention to his own stuff because your shoulder kept brushing his… by the end of it, made with your hello kitty bandaged fingers, on the very end of his sleeve was his own embroidered moss and your initial.

DANCING TOGETHER.
“no but, what if i fall? that would be embarrassing.”
“i would catch you. always.”
— having his hand interlocked with yours has never felt so faultless, he’s been close but never this close. the amount of times he’s wanted to play with your hands but refuse because of the fear of making you uncomfortable yet you seemed so at ease grabbing his hands to mess with his knuckles at any given time. your hand that was splayed out on his chest traced little hearts into the fabric while you studied his face. for a second, he swore you leaned in.. that was until you stumbled on his foot. instincts kicked in quicker than he could react, tugging you flush against him. well that was embarrassing… even then, both your laughter, firstly stiffed, echoed throughout the atmosphere.

“why do you do this?”
“i want you to know i accept every part of you.”

he gives you his sweatshirt headcanons—part two
part one. part three.
includes: tighnari, albedo, zhongli
warnings: gender neutral reader, fluff
tighnari
tighnari was more than willing to give you his sweatshirt.
the only problem was that he really didn't know how to.
tighnari didn’t just want to randomly give it to you because what if you denied it? said you didn’t want it? told him to keep it? then what would he do? no, that wouldn't do.
honestly what tighnari wanted was for you to ask him for it. but you still haven't, and he feared you might never do so.
tighnari wondered if he was doing something wrong.
meanwhile there was you, desperately wanting to wear tighnari’s sweatshirt, but not knowing how to tell him that. you didn’t want to just ask him out of nowhere. what if he didn’t want to give it to you? told you to wear your own? then what?
you just have kind of wanted him to offer it to you. but even as you dropped subtle hints here and there, tighnari has yet to do so.
it all boiled over when you were at his house.
you had come over early, conveniently without a sweatshirt, but tighnari still didn’t offer you his. now you were getting frustrated. not at him, though. at yourself.
what were you doing wrong?
maybe it was just time to say it. but then again, you didn't want to pressure him, and maybe you just shouldn't because—
“i have something to tell you,” you said, before you could stop yourself. tighnari looked up at you from the other end of the couch. looking almost as apprehensive as you felt, tighnari responded, “me too.”
“you go first,” you told him.
“no, you go.”
“no, i insist, you first.”
“no, you said something first—“
“fine, fine,” you interrupted him. “we’ll go at the same time.”
“okay,” tighnari agreed. “on the count of three.”
“one… two…” you counted in unison. at three, you both blurted out:
“i want to wear your sweatshirt.”
“i want you to wear my sweatshirt.”
“what?” you asked at the same time, not quite sure you heard each other right.
“you— you want to wear my sweatshirt?“ tighnari said before you could repeat yourself.
you nodded, looking a little bashful. “…and you want to give it to me?” tighnari nodded sheepishly. he slowly started to smile, and you felt yourself doing the same.
you made a mental note for you and tighnari to work more on communication in the future. but for now, you were content to lay against his chest, his perfectly oversized sweatshirt engulfing you whole.
albedo
it was the middle of winter and yet albedo refused to turn off the air conditioning in his lab.
you figured it had something to do with temperature regulation. probably certain ingredients and chemicals and substances that needed to be kept at low temperatures. whatever the reason was, the lab was cold, and you were freezing.
albedo, however, looked unbothered. but then again, he was wearing a sweatshirt. a very comfortable looking sweatshirt.
you watched as he began to mix two brightly colored liquids together, his face a mask of concentration. his hands were steady because unlike you, he wasn't shivering.
the liquids combined into a new, even brighter color, and albedo set the test tube back on its stand. he scribbled down some notes and without looking up said, "i can hear your teeth chattering."
"oh," you replied, slightly surprised. but knowing albedo required perfect silence to best conduct his research, you continued, "sorry. it's just.. really cold."
you not-so subtly eyed his sweatshirt again.
"go ahead," albedo said, jotting down a couple more ideas. "ask me to wear my sweatshirt."
"what?" you asked, looking away from him. you felt your cheeks warm despite the cold. "i wouldn't... i could never—"
"i can feel you staring, [you]. i don't mind, either." albedo was already taking it off, revealing just a plain t-shirt underneath. "i don't get cold easily."
if you were any less flustered, you would have realized that statement was a lie. but seeing that you were finally warm in the oversized fleece, albedo supposed that was a worthy trade-off for being cold for the next several hours.
zhongli
zhongli didn’t give you his sweatshirt. no, you got his sweatshirt because you stole it from him.
you saw his sweatshirt, the one that he wore almost every day, unattend, and without thinking, you went for it.
you didn’t second guess yourself then. but you certaintly were now. you felt guilty from stealing from your boyfriend. and to make it worse, you stole his most favorite sweatshirt. you'd be crushed if someone took yours.
you didn’t even want to imagine the disappointed look he would give you.
and when you saw him for your plans later that day, he indeed looked disappointed, his eyes sharply focused on you, a small frown on his lips. your heart sank. oh, you were so screwed.
“you didn’t like it?” zhongli asked when you approached him. you blinked. he wasn’t upset? he continued, “it’s quite old, but still comfortable enough. for me, at least. perphaps you’d like a different one?”
you stared at him, confused. “what…? what are you talking about?“
“the sweatshirt, of course. if it’s not to your liking, i have others—“
“wait, so— you’re not mad at me?” you blurted out.
now zhongli looked equally as confused. “no? why would i be?”
“because i stole it from you?” you replied. you had excepted zhongli to be upset with you, not to offer even more of the… stolen goods.
zhongli laughed. “you’re my partner, [you]. i don’t care if you take my clothes, although i would like to see you wearing them. and besides, i practically left it out for you.”
you could only stare at him, dumbfounded. but then you simply smiled out of relief and slight embarrassment, and told him you'd wear the sweatshirt tomorrow.
the following week, when zhongli opened his closet and found all his clothes completely gone, he considered he might have been a little too generous.
bonus:
"childe, why don't we go clothes shopping? it'll be my treat." -zhongli, knowing damn well it won't be his treat, but childe's.

post-script. i decided to make a special post dedicated to my one year anniversary of my blog (january 26, 2021) soo here it is ! hope you guys enjoy this <<3
TAKES YOU OUT TO EAT - zhongli, lisa, ningguang, arataki itto, yae miko, gorou
ZHONGLI would take you out to have a nice dinner in third-round knockout, thinking that the best way to celebrate each other's anniversary is to retrace the memory of how the both of you met and the memory of your first date. unlike most of the dates you've went to with this man, this one was more intimate and romantic.
the staff of the restaurant was happy enough to make things more romantic by making someone play an instrument as the iron-tongue tian tells many stories in the background. it was really nice, you admit. it felt like it all happened yesterday when you first met zhongli at the same spot and same time.
later on after eating, the both of you would start strolling around the harbor together as the stars shines above you, causing you to be busy looking at them to not notice how your lover looks at you with love-eyes, thinking about how he's glad to meet someone like you. it honestly felt like deja-vu throughout the whole date, because it felt like he fell in love with you all over again.
LISA will take a day off to spend her day with you. the first thing the both of you did is have a tea session together, talking about whatever comes into your minds for hours on end. it really lightens the whole atmosphere to hear the two of you laughing over your conversations.
the both of you will also spend time taking a stroll around mondstadt and shop together, with lisa willing to dress up for you and you the same. it's a sweet sight for people passing by to see the humble librarian of the knights of favonius spending time together with her lover - it felt like windblume festival already returned with all the romance between you.
afterwards, the both of you will spend time eating dinner in good hunter eating each other's favorite foods. when sara found out about your anniversary, she immediately cooked another food that's on the house, much to you and lisa's delight. by the end of the day, you two lay on your bed in each other's arms, thinking about the future that lies ahead the both of you.
NINGGUANG will wear the most beautiful dress made with the finest clothing the city harbor could offer to their tianquan, wondering what the special occasion is that made the woman dress up so nicely. to her three secretaries, they know full well enough that their superior will be meeting the special someone in her abode.
obviously, the special someone is you.
given her status and reputation, ningguang made sure to pull every string she has so that no one can know about you and the fact that you're her spouse – mainly because she didn't want any person in her city to look badly on you and the dangers that could be brought to you for being with someone like ningguang.
hence why she decided to celebrate her anniversary with you by letting her staff take a day off outside of the jade chamber and immediately take you in, her eyes brightening at the sight of you arriving her home in your best outfit that you manage to get and buy.
it was a quiet evening to say the least, but it was peaceful enough for you and ningguang to enjoy your date together. she knows you long enough to know what food you like the most, knowing that it puts a smile on your face when you see the wondrous sight of your favorite food plastered over the table, so when she sees how you're so happy eating, it makes her happy as well.
however, what took her by surprise is your response when she asks you about your opinion about the food.
"it makes me happy, of course." you said with a smile. "though, not as much as spending time with the one i'm in love with."
she immediately covers her face with her fan, trying not to smile too much from your response. but you know her long enough to know that she's flustered from your words, causing you to laugh a little at the sight of the flustered tianquan.
deep inside, it does make ningguang happy that she gets to spend time with you without any interruptions from her duties. despite having all the luxury she has that now resides in her new jade chamber, none of them compares to the luxury of happiness that she feels when she spends time with you.
when ARATAKI ITTO finds out that today's your anniversary, he'll immediately invite you to go out with him and eat together in a ramen restaurant. oh, you don't have to worry about the money, a certain fox lady owes him free ramen after a competition many moons ago.
although the place he chose for you is something that isn't something worth in awe for, your lover makes it up by the atmosphere and the pleasant conversation the both of you have. with itto, it's like the both of you can talk about any topic you want and he'll make it fun.
and what's better than spending time with your lover in the best ramen restaurant in town? giving your lover the best beetle of course!
by the time the both of you are finished with your meals, itto will immediately surprise you with a rather large box that turns out to be a special gift from your man. you expected something like a jewelry, a matching hairbrush, or even a trinket that he got from a kid who lost to him, but never a giant looking beetle sleeping. of course, your reaction is up to you – either way, you'll hear your lover laugh.
YAE MIKO will be all too happy to show you just how much she loves you more than any human known in this world during your anniversary. you're not sure why but she seems to be more affectionate when it comes to special occasions – which you don't mind of course.
to start the day, she’ll smother you with so much kisses on your face when the both of you meet up just to see your flustered state. could you blame her? you’re just so cute that she just had to kiss you!
she'll give you a special light novel that hasn't been established in her store yet along with a charm that'll surely give you luck and prosperity as a gift (or rather, gifts). she'll be more delighted if you too give her a gift even if it's less special than hers.
she'll then take you to a nice restaurant where the both of you can be alone and enjoy the meals you share. it'll only take a while before the woman decides to sit next to you and offer to feed you with her chopsticks, laughing in amusement from your flustered state.
"oh but i insist on feeding you!" she said when you tried to protest her request. "this is what couples do sometimes is it not? now open your mouth and say "ah" hehe"
it feels strange to be in narukami island despite visiting there multiple times, GOROU would admit. however, if it's for you, then he's all too willing to come over and spend time with you. especially during an occasion as important as an anniversary.
the two of you decided to spend time together by going to a restaurant and introduce gorou to many dishes that he had missed back when he was busy with his duties, alongside letting him eat his favorite dessert after not being able to eat them for so long.
however, gorou then insisted in trying out a new dish that he'd like to share with you alongside his desserts, not knowing what's in store for him as he excitedly tries the food with you.
the food stored onions.
the moment gorou took his first bite, he instantly froze like a deer caught in the headlights, realizing his mistake as he feels the contents of his food rising up his throat.
"gorou? what–"
"i'm sorry y/n, i can't hold it!" he exclaims, rushing out from the door and towards the bathroom that's beside your reservation room before he pukes his guts out on the toilet.
later after that, gorou swears to always ask merchants if there's onions in the food as you try to make it up to your lover with sweets.
SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS AND/OR FAMILY - tartaglia, beidou, venti, ganyu, jean
TARTAGLIA will spend the anniversary with you by inviting you to come to snezhnaya with him and meet his family, who are all too willing and excited to meet the person who has stolen his heart and has been mentioned in many letters written by yours truly.
he values his family more than anything alongside you, so seeing you and the people he shares the same blood with getting along makes him happy - especially if they approve your relationship and you as a person overall.
expect them to ask you many questions about yourself and what you think about your lover, who watches the whole thing with a genuine smile on his face – until he spots his mother sneakily bringing out a very familiar photobook that he intends to hide from you in fear of embarrassment, that's when his smile will drop 6 feet underground and try to stop her from showing you many pictures of childe as a kid.
not to worry though, because his smile will easily return when he overhears a conversation between you and his mother while he’s cleaning up the table, listening to you two talking about how his mom is happy that childe has someone as special as you to be his spouse. his smile could only widen more when you confess to her about something that'll change your lives for the better.
BEIDOU was very enthusiastic when she finds out that you're okay with celebrating your anniversary together with her crew, who are all more than happy to help their captain plan the occasion alongside xinyan and xiangling. spending time with the crux honestly feels like you're in a wedding reception with you and beidou being the newly-wed couple, which you admit, does make you feel a bit flustered to think about.
the whole night, your lover always has her arm wrapped around your shoulder or is beside you, the both of you leaning on each other for warmth and comfort as you celebrate your first anniversary with the people your lover considers as family.
while xinyan takes her cue to start preparing for her performance, beidou takes her cue to take you far away from where her crewmates are, her palms begins to sweat from her nervousness as you follow her without any clue of her intentions.
it wasn't until the woman slowly pulls out a small box and opens it for you to see the inside, causing your eyes to widen at the sight of two shiny rings.
"it's a matching promise ring," she said, smiling. "i uh, i found this on display while doing some errands around the harbor, so i thought it would be great if you and i can have matching rings. think of it as a charm that you and i can take whenever one of us is away from the other, haha.."
if only your lover knew that you too have a small box that has a ring, a ring that represents your willingness to spend your whole life together with her by the sea and her crew.
VENTI is more than happy to take you out from the city of freedom and explore around the nation with the help of his dearest friend, dvalin. given that it's the first time meeting the dragon that people feared long ago, you honestly were nervous on how your encounter will turn out.
"so you're the human that my friend has been chatting about for ages," dvalin spoke in an amused tone, causing you to get spooked because of the fact that the creature can talk. "it's pleasant to meet you."
without letting you reply, he instantly starts flapping his wings together, causing strong winds to come at you and venti. "come, i shall take you around and show what mondstadt can offer."
windwail highland, brightcrown mountains, starfell valley, and galesong hill – you name it. dvalin took you and venti everywhere as you hold onto your lover in fear of how high the both of you are, paying no mind to how venti starts laughing at the sight of your scared form.
by the time dvalin lands in windrise – the last stop – the first thing that caught your eye was a blanket that sprawled foods near the statue. although this was an endearing sight, you could only wonder how on earth venti managed to make sara from good hunter make so much food.
“silly y/n,” venti said with a giggle, helping you come down from dvalin’s back. “who said i bought these?”
for your anniversary, you and GANYU agreed to take a two-day break from your duties in the qixing and celebrate. to your relief, your request for your break has been approved and assured by the tianquan herself, who immediately gifted you a gift for your anniversary much to you and your lover's delight.
the first thing you and ganyu did during your anniversary is to visit cloud retainer's abode to pay respects and let ganyu introduce the adeptus to you, who has never met an adeptus in person until now (besides your lover, that is). however, your nervous and doubts have all washed away when cloud retainer expresses how she approves your relationship.
it didn't take long before the adeptus started telling you embarrassing stories about ganyu in her childhood when your lover decides to drag you away from mt. aocang and send farewell to the adeptus, who swore to you that she'll tell more of her stories, as the both of you head back to wangshu inn, where you'll be staying for the next two nights together.
unlike most of the characters, you and JEAN weren't able to spend the whole day together thanks to her busy duties as the acting grandmaster. the woman felt guilty when she told you she won't be able to spend the day because of the overwhelming amount of work to do – but you reassured her that it's alright and that there's always next time to celebrate.
it wasn't alright, you admit deep inside, but you're aware that there's nothing you can do to stop your lover from protecting your homeland with everything she can.
you were too sad to notice how a lot of knights of favonius members often came in and out from angel's share with questionable boxes and party supplies, and how sara from good hunter seems to be giving you a reassuring smile when you told her that you're just spending time finding a gift for your lover as an anniversary gift.
however, when you came to angel's share to buy some wine, the first thing you saw when you opened the door was your dearest friends screaming "SURPRISE" at you, causing you to open your mouth agape in shock.
you were about to ask what was happening, until jean walk towards you and give you a comforting hug with a smile on her face. "i apologize for lying to you. i was spending the afternoon preparing the party for you and wanted to make it a surprise." she explains, kissing your temple.
"wait, i don't understand.." you mumbled, staring at your lover with wide eyes.
you looked at the people behind jean, who're all smiling and waiting for your lover's cue to start the party.
jean then holds out her hand to you.
"let me make up for the times we've missed."
ALONE TOGETHER - raiden shogun, diluc, albedo
as someone who's been in plane of euthymia for so long, EI prefers being alone rather than in a crowded place, hence why she decides to invite you to her palace and spend time with her eating desserts and your choice of food. the archon was honestly relieved that she has yae miko, because if it weren't for her, ei couldn't imagine what she would do to celebrate your anniversary together.
it didn't help that she feels.. nervous for the first time in centuries. since when was the last time she felt like this? the things you do to her are so different, yet... not so bad. still, it felt strange to be so nervous about giving you a gift that yae miko helped her come up with, and she certainly hopes that you wouldn't notice it.
if you didn't notice, then the people watching by did.
it was a surprise sight for people who work in the tenshukaku to see their beloved archon acting like a high-school girl in front of you, a mere commoner mortal who managed to capture ei's heart with unknown reasons. but were they complaining? nope.
when ei decided to push her nervousness aside and give you your gift, you stopped talking for a moment and stare down at the wrapped box in confusion.
"you're supposed to.. open it." she clarifies, gesturing the gift.
you chuckled from her words before doing what she said, the first thing you saw is a kamera.
"...happy anniversary, y/n." she spoke with a small smile. "it may… not be much to you but i heard from traveler and his companion that this item makes a visual record of you at this very moment in time, so it makes a great souvenir. i-i was thinking that this may be good for you and i whenever we spend time together."
your eyes brightens from her explanation, an idea instantly came in mind. “why not take a picture of us together right now as our first picture?”
DILUC decides to spend your anniversary together with him by letting all his staff take the day off and let you stay in dawn winery with him.
whether it’d be picking up berries together in his vineyard, chase each other around the field, cook meals together, or even chill in front of the fireplace — you name it. as long as diluc gets to spend time with you, he’s satisfied with whatever you want to do.
with you, he felt like he’s truly at home for the first time in years. the atmosphere have never felt so.. bright and comforting and the place was filled with laughter and happiness shared. not to mention the fact that he actually starts smiling even if it was just small — and you can guarantee that he doesn’t want this day to end.
which is why he starts to think about the next phase of your relationship as the both of you lay on his bed with you sleeping soundly in his arms. would you say yes if he finally invites you to move in with him?
ALBEDO finds it comforting to spend your anniversary together in the cold embrace of dragonspine with just the two of you in his labratory beside one another. expect him to make a painting of you with his best ability as you pose for him with a grin on your face. it didn't take long before you jokingly whine about why it was taking so long, causing albedo to chuckle.
"stand still, dear. i just want to make sure this painting captures your beauty and features that i love." he said, your cheeks feeling warmer than the campfire nearby from his words.
after a long hour of painting you, albedo will then summon a nice table with dining utensils for you to eat and insists on cooking for you – only for you to protest and want to help him out with cooking your meals.
despite wanting you to just sit back and relax, albedo would admit that it was more... enjoyable to cook with you rather than cooking by himself. your hand brushing against his as the both of you lend each other items or ingredients never fails to make his heart (does he even have a heart?) beat so fast.
by the time the both of you finished cooking and serving the food down on the table, he'll immediately pull his and your chair next to each other, letting you sit down first before he does.
as you compliment his cooking and eat your meal happily, albedo could only smile in response and eat his salad, thinking about how it does taste better than any salad he had ever tried in his life.
perhaps eating with the ones you love makes food better is true, albedo thought to himself, humming in satisfaction.
"happy anniversary, y/n."
STAR-GAZING - kazuha, thoma, xiao, kaeya, eula
KAZUHA spends your anniversary by taking you to the highest spot of guyun stone forest, where the both of you can watch the stars together as you bask in each other's presence.
expect him to pull out a small poem that he worked hard for before reciting it to you, who did not expect the poem to be all about you until your name was mentioned along the lines. if only you knew how much poems he wrote about you that are all hidden in the alcor where no one can find them.
you may not have written a poem for your man, but you do know some of the stars that are shining as always. while you point out some of the stars and explain about it happily, kazuha could simply watch you and listen to you for hours with a loving look on his face.
it won't take long before beidou calls out for you two, telling you that you should come down with your lover and celebrate your anniversary with the crux, who has a feast waiting for you to eat, reminding you and kazuha that you're no longer as alone as you were back then in inazuma.
instead of staying in komore's teahouse or explore around inazuma city together, THOMA wanted to change things up a little and take you somewhere far away from the city, which is the amakane island, where the two of you not only will get to star-gaze together but will also get to see a fireworks show prepared by yoimiya.
the chief retainer could spend years gushing about how amazing you look in your outfit that he hasn’t seen you use until now, his words stumbling because of how breathtaking you look much to your amusement and embarrassment.
it was a cute sight to see you two like a high-school couple, and merchants did not hesitate to tease thoma right at the spot whenever the two of you stop by to buy something, causing the housekeeper to laugh and ignore the way his face turns even more red. even some of the merchants gave you and thoma a huge discount after finding out that the two of you are celebrating your anniversary toegther.
not to mention the fact that thoma actually bought himself matching kitsune masks for the both of you to wear – he'll absolutely gush more about this moment too!!
by the time the both of you found a spot to watch the stars and the fireworks alike, you immediately intertwine your fingers with his, leaning against him with a content sigh as he wraps his arm around you with a grin.
"did you enjoy it?" you asked him, still staring at the sky.
"of course," he replied, pulling you closer to him. "why wouldn't i be when i'm with you?"
coincidentally, your anniversary with XIAO is on the day the lantern rite releases its lanterns and mingxiao lantern, so you decided to take this opportunity to take your lover out from wangshu inn and spend the night watching together.
if it were any other person, xiao wouldn't hesitate to refuse. however, since it's you, xiao won't mind coming out to spend time with you.
you decided to make it up to your lover by treating him to dinner in wangshu inn, insisting to your lover that you don't want to watch the lanterns rise with an empty stomach as verr goldet and the rest of the wangshu inn staff watch you both from time to time in adoration, thinking that the both of you look so cute together (xiao knows you and him are being watched, but he won't say anything due to his embarrassment).
by the time the both of you finished, you decided to go to liyue harbor with the help of your lover's teleportation abilities. you were too busy from preparing yourself to notice the way his face has a light pink shade on his cheeks from how close the both of you are.
of course, knowing that his karma debt could affect those in liyue harbor, you decided to watch the lanterns with the yaksha at the same area as where you and him watched the previous lanterns together, which is near the entrance to liyue harbor.
while waiting for the lanterns to rise, you decided to pick up the lanterns that you made with the help of traveler, thinking that it'd be great for xiao to experience wishing in the lantern and let it fly to the sky.
it was as beautiful as it was before, you admit. watching the lanterns along with yours rise along with the mingxiao lantern as it lights up the starry night was indeed a memorable sight, but not as much as the way your lover's eyes brightens at the sight of his lantern floating high above to the sky in awe.
there's nothing more romantic than mondstadt’s most famous spot that's perfect for couples to hang out in: the starsnatch cliff. call KAEYA cheesy, but he honestly likes the idea of star-gazing with his love while dining delicious foods and drinking wine instead of spending the night in angel's share – which isn't an ideal date for an anniversary, if you ask him.
but then again, star-gazing isn't just enough for kaeya, so he decided to plan a scavenger hunt for you to find him and your anniversary spot.
at first, you found it romantic and a bit cliche – but then you realized just how far you might have to go from the city to wherever the hell kaeya is. maybe it wasn't a good idea to let kaeya plan your anniversary.
by the time you arrived, kaeya was standing not too far away from where you are with a smirk. "how was the scavenger hunt, sweetheart?" he asked.
"terrible, not recommended." you replied in a monotone. "you better have food up there or i'm leaving."
he chuckles. "leaving so soon? won't you at least stay for the surprise?'
by the end of the night, kaeya's surprise turned out to be a very expensive wine that you had never seen in your life.
oh, and a very special ring that made kaeya go from being your boyfriend to your fiance.
given that you're the first person EULA has dated, it's safe to say that the woman doesn't know what to do to celebrate her first anniversary with you, so you have to be the one to take the lead on this and guide her.
you made sure that your date isn't somewhere in the city or anywhere that has people, not wanting eula to get another backlash from others on the day of your anniversary, so you chose a spot that's a nice and quiet area around windwail highland that can show you the view of the city of freedom, with springvale not being too far from where you are – it's a perfect area for a picnic with your lover.
when you and eula meet up in your "secret" spot, expect her to give you a gift – which is a home-made special dish made by yours truly alongside a brooch that matches your usual outfit – however, she won't expect you to give her anything in return, so if you too got her a gift, she'll be surprised and happy.
the two of you then eat each other's dishes with your choice of drink, enjoying the quiet atmosphere around your surroundings.
and what else would be great other than amazing meals? dancing with your lover without a care of the world of course !!!
eula will pretty much invite you to dance with her once she deems that it's enough for your stomachs to rest from eating so much food, and despite your protests that you don't know how, she'll simply insist and pull you away from the picnic blanket.
"shouldn't we be using music?" you asked, laughing nervously as your lover holds both of your hands.
"who says we have to use music?" she said with an amused smile. "there's nothing to worry about – just hold onto me and i'll lead the way."
BONUS - scaramouche
celebrating without SCARAMOUCHE honestly made you sad, but you understood why he has to go away. just thinking about the things the fatui would do when they find out that the traitor who hasn't returned the electro gnosis to the tsaritsa has a spouse made you shudder in fear.
you sat alone by the dining table staring at the untouched foods that you made by yourself, wishing that your lover was sitting beside you celebrating this memorable occasion, but alas, fate is too cruel for the both of you to get what you want.
you wondered what he was doing. is he celebrating alone as well in a hideout? is he safe from the fatui chasing him? you could only sigh, knowing you'll never get to know the answer until then.
"happy anniversary to you, kunikuzushi." you whispered, smiling in sadness. "please come back here safe and sound someday."
unnoticed to you, a lone figure stood a few feet away in your cottage, staring at the window where he can see you eating your food alone, which caused his stomach to twist from the sad sight of his lover. there's nothing more scaramouche desires than to enter the place he considers home and have you in his arms, but he knows it'll only risk your safety.
"...happy anniversary to you too, n/n." he mumbles, covering his face with his hat before walking away, never knowing when will the day come that he'll go back to your waiting arms.

Genshin Impact Archons + Travelers Party!
WARNING - ZHONGLI SPOILERS
(Baal, Venti, Zhongli, Aether, Lumine) - (Male Reader)
“Ehe~ Hey Block-head! Look at how much wine I stole from Master Diluc!”
Venti shouted to Zhongli in praise for himself as he looked at the 2 crates of dandelion wine he managed to smuggle.
“Hmmm.. Y/N, do you hear crickets by chance? Or is it just me?”
Zhongli turned his head to Y/N, all while in a thinking pose.
“Hmm.. This dango is quite exquisite, not to mention this… milk that tastes like dango.”
Baal thought out loud as Venti and Zhongli both argued like children.
“DANDELION WINE IS THE BEST! YOU JUST HAVE NO TASTE!!”
“Ugh, this place reeks too much of wine.”
“GO WIND GO! POKEMON WIND I CHOOSE YOU!”
Venti pointed at Zhongli while trying to steal Y/N who was sitting and watching peacefully with Baal, Lumine and Aether.
And how did Venti learn about Pokémon? Simple, Y/N treated the archons like Pokémon whenever he felt like it.
And whenever Venti did follow Y/N’s “orders” (he followed them every time 😶 btw), he always received headpats in return. So in Barbato’s perspective, it was a win-win.
Venti originally wanted to just hug Y/N in front of everyone, but he changed his mind. He instead wanted to steal him and go somewhere else alone together. Fortunately for Y/N, Venti didn’t manage to get far as Zhongli quickly threw a meteorite at him.
While they were making a big fuss, Y/N was also feeding Lumine.
“Ah- Thank you Y/N…”
Lumine spoke shyly while you fed her Tianshu Meat.
One of the reasons of why she spoke shyly, was because Baal noticed the scene in front of her. Baal was intensely staring at Lumine in envy. Lumine could feel herself sweat bullets. Lumine guessed that if Y/N wasn’t here, Baal would’ve instantly pulled out her sword with no hesitation. She was correct. Since Y/N was here, Baal chose a different option.
“C-Could I please be fed some food too? Dango would be preferable.”
“Of course dear.”
Y/N took a dango stick from the table and fed her.
“Thank you, Y/N”
Baal said, blushing a bit.
Ironically enough, Aether didn’t notice the scene of Lumine and Baal getting fed, only focusing on the scene of two archons arguing.
“So uh- are we just gonna ignore them…?”
Aether asked hesitantly.
“Yes my dear. After all, we don’t want to take what little they have left, or as people call it: braincells.”
“HEY!”
Venti shouted offended with blush, while Zhongli just face palmed with pink dusting his cheeks too.
“Pfft-“
Baal quickly covered her mouth with her hands as she giggled lightly with a tint of pink coating her cheeks.
“Ahaha!”
Lumine and Aether smiled slightly while watching the scene. It had been a while since they both were fully relaxed and had a break.
(After everyone ate)
Aether snuck a stare to Y/N, he couldn’t help but admire his looks. Truly, Y/N was too good-looking for his own good. That could already be evidenced by the amount of people who fell in love with Y/N. He couldn’t help but feel a tinge of bitterness in his heart. What if he ended up with someone else other then himself? Aether couldn’t handle the thought of Y/N being with someone else.
Aether stared off into space while the beginning of a argument of the three archons was about to happen.
“I think it is fair this way. Y/N has just arrived in Inazuma. Therefore, he should continue to stay in Inazuma longer.”
“Na-uh! Y/N likes my singing and Mondstadt! He should come with me back to Mondstadt!”
“Honestly, I believe Y/N would rather stay in Liyue with me. I will always protect him in the lands of Liyue.”
“Hmph, unlike you both, my people actually still know that I’m alive. I have armies of samurais, clans, and civilians who are willing to follow my every command since I’m their Shogun.”
Y/N sweat dropped while watching the scene.
Bonus:
1 hour later..
~Lumine~
“Y/N, I need to speak with you.”
Currently, you both were alone in the forest as you volunteered to escort her.
“Yes?”
She stopped in her tracks and turn fully towards you.
“Erm.. I-I have a gift for you.. It’s not much but, I do hope you like it. Take it as a token of my gratitude for inviting me and Aether.”
Lumine reached her hand to a small secret pocket in her dress that no one could notice unless they heard it from Lumine themselves.
She pulled out a flower, an identical one to the one she had in her hair.
You reached your hands to the flower and gently took it, as if it were a fragile being.
“Thank you.. I really appreciate it.”
~Aether~
Currently, you both were alone in the forest as you volunteered to escort him.
“Y/N..”
Aether spoke shyly.
“Yes?”
Aether stopped in his tracks and looked at you.
“Thank you for inviting me and Lumine, I enjoyed the party.”
“That’s good to hear.”
You responded.
“I want to give you a gift in return. I think you’ll like it.”
“Oh?”
His hands went to a secret pocket that no one could know about unless Aether told them. The pocket was very well hidden.
“I-I searched for these in Liyue.. I made sure they were of very f-fine quality..”
Aether then finally pulled out multiple shiny looking expensive gems that was Cor Lapis.
Aether was panicking a bit on the inside, for goodness sakes he was stuttering in front of his crush!
He reached his hands, holding the Cor Lapis to Y/N.
Y/N took the Cor Lapis out of his hold and held them gently.
Aether blushed a bit, as their hands touched each other’s unintentionally in the process.
“Thank you, Aether.”
~Zhongli~
Currently, you both were alone in the forest as you volunteered to escort him.
“Today was delightful. Thank you for inviting me to this party, Y/N.”
“Of course, you’re welcome.”
“In response to the invitation, I too, have a gift for you.”
“Oh?”
Zhongli summoned a charm that had a geo symbol on it.
“Please accept this, this is a good luck charm for you. If you should have any trouble, this charm will immediately acknowledge it and lend you a helping hand. My power will be there for you whether or not I am on the other half of the world away from you.”
You reached your hands towards his right hand that had the charm, brushing fingers in the process.
He blushed as you looked at the charm more closely in your hands.
Zhongli smiled lightly.
“Thank you, Morax.”
~Venti~
Currently, you both were alone in the forest as you volunteered to escort him.
“Ehe~ Wasn’t it nice today Y/N?”
Venti shouted happily.
“Yes, it was.”
Venti stopped in his tracks and looked at you pouting.
“Awwww c’mon! Don’t give me that small answer!”
You smiled lightly to the point that he couldn’t even see it even if he had a V.I.P. view of your face.
“Anyway~ I have a gift you! I hope you think of me whenever you use and look at it!”
Venti smiled and giggled as he summoned a custom lyre with your favorite colors on it.
Your expression didn’t show it, but you stared at it for a moment in awe.
“Ehe~ May the wind be forever with you!”
“Thank you, Barbatos. May the wind be with you too.”
~Baal~
Currently, you both were alone in the forest as you volunteered to escort her.
“Y/N, shall our bond be with eternity forever.”
“Oh?”
“Yes, and to thank you for the large amount of dango you let me have today.. I have a gift for you in return.”
“It’s nothing much, but I do hope you like it.”
She summoned an piece of wood that you sensed had a lot of her electro element made into it. The piece of wood looks light, wrapped in red clothe neatly that seemed to be stuck to the piece of wood even if you were to try to forcibly pull it off. Kanji could be seen on the “front” of it. The red clothe was like a cape to the wood, except for the space for the kanji to be clearly seen. In some way, it looked like a magical charm of some sort that had an archon’s touch to it.
“This is a charm I give to you. I hope it will bring you good luck. You can also use this to show to my people, they will instantly know to respect you. If they don’t, you can always come to me. I welcome you anytime to Inazuma.”
She reached the charm in her hands to you.
You pulled your hands forward and took the charm carefully. In the process of reaching or it, your dominant hand brushed against Baal’s hands.
Baal smiled flustered, beginning to lose her facade.
“Thank you, Ei.”

Oh god, okay hear me out. I suffer from insomnia and I couldn’t get Childes letter out of my head (btw the English version is so much less “I am in love with you” than the German one. He literally says in the German version that he misses us and wants us to visit him, like straight up this is a love letter!! The English version is really toned down in comparison).
So. I know his birthday is over, at least where I’m from. But. I wrote this whole ass fan fic, that is way too long, because I was so inspired by that letter. I’m not really satisfied with the ending, I honestly wanted to add so much more fluff but… I also didn’t want to make this too long, I actually planned for it to be short??? help (also it’s 4am now noooo)
Happy birthday, Tartaglia
Genre: a little bit angsty, fluff, comfort
Rating: SFW, though mentions of kissing and sharing a bed
Content warnings: mention of a family death, Bennett’s bad luck lol but both are unrelated haha
Characters: Tartaglia x gn!reader, a guest appearance of Bennett, mention of Zhongli
Word count: 2,796 words (oooh f*ck haha)
-
You’ve been busy the whole day doing some commissions for the Adventures Guild and were now on your way to Mondstadt, when you heard a familiar voice call your name. “(Y/N)!”, Bennett called out to you and ran into your direction. A deep sigh left your throat, while you enjoyed Bennett’s company most of the time… you had to deal with a ton of your own bad luck today. Not one of the commissions today went the way they usually did, everything that could’ve gone wrong did go wrong. It was honestly just very frustrating, although you couldn’t be really sure if it was because of bad luck or because your mind was somewhere else most of the day. You shook your head, trying to get rid of the tiredness you already felt in your whole body and made your way towards Bennett. No matter what he needed help with you would be sure you could handle it. And in that moment, as the thought of how it wouldn’t be a big deal whatever Bennett had on his chest, you saw how the young adventure tripped over his own feet and fell face forwards into the dirt. ‘Ouch, that must’ve hurt’, you thought while running up to him. “Are you hurt? Here, let me help you up Bennett”, you asked while helping him get up from the ground. All you got as an answer from him was his usual laugh and smile. “Oh man, I really didn’t see that stone. Haha, thanks for the concern though!” You couldn’t help yourself and chuckled at the way he wiped off the dirt from his clothes. “So, what’s up? What do you want from me?.” “Yeah, right! I nearly forgot!”, he exclaimed and started fumbling in his bag. “Oh, got a present for me?”, you asked sheepishly. “Kinda, not really. Here!” Bennett held a letter in his hands, both bandaged again, and stretching it out to you. “A letter? For me?”, you took it in your hands. In a fine handwriting there was your name on it. It didn’t even took you a second for you to register who’s hand writing it was. What a surprise.
Before you could even start to ask Bennett how he got his hands on the letter he was already excitedly explaining it to you. “Today I had a commission on Dragonspine and to be honest, it didn’t really went that well until I ran into this one guy. I accidentally activated a few Ruin guards and well, even the most seasoned adventurer can’t fight more than one of these at a time and sadly the newest members of Benny’s adventure team had to go home again before we made it even to the mountain.”
The thought of Bennett nearly finding his end today on Dragonspine really… it really did not sit right with you. You made a mental note to ask him later who the new members were that ditched him. After you had your talk with them they wished they had stayed with Bennett on Dragonspine. “Well, in that moment when they approached me that one guy showed up and it only took him a few minutes to defeat them all. (Y/N) that was so cool! I tried to recruit him for my adventure team, but sadly he said he was already occupied with something else. Oh man, it would’ve been so cool to have him on my adventurer team, imagine with such an excellent fighter no one would be afraid of my bad luck to join my team.” While you enjoyed Bennett’s enthusiasm you had to interrupt him. “Wait, wait, Bennett. The person who gave you this letter is on Dragonspine?”
“Oh yeah! As I was saying I tried to recruit him for my team, but failed however we talked a bit and somehow he mentioned that he knew you! When I told him we were friends he asked me to give you this letter the next time I saw you.”
You felt how the excitement in you grew. He was on Dragonspine? He was so close to you again? Now you hardly could pay attention to what Bennett continued to say, all that was on your mind was the man, whom you saw the last time months ago in Liyue was so close again. “Bennett,” you interrupted him again. “Thank you so much for the letter, but I really need to get going. Thank you so much!”
And with that you changed your direction and made your way directly to Dragonspine. “Oh? Okay, bye (Y/N)!”, you heard Bennett call after you, but your mind was already occupied with opening that letter he gave you.
With shaking hands you read what stood on that thin paper in that neat and familiar handwriting:
“Hey, comrade! How have you been? You must have traveled far and wide since we last saw each other, right?
For me, I can only seek out some entertainment for myself. These past couple of days, I’ve used a work opportunity to explore Dragonspine and seek out some local specialties. I hope they will be of use to you.
The harsh cold of the snow-capped mountains is reminiscent to the scenery of my hometown…
Sigh, I’ve had many mundane days that makes me nostalgic of our time together. Whether it’s a fight or a challenge, I always feel that having you around is what makes life really interesting.
Haha, to be honest, I’ve been planning a special day to meet up with you, today could be that chance! If you have no special plans, how about you swing by my place?
I miss you, Tartaglia”
Quickly you put the letter in your bag with what accompanied it and now you were basically running towards Dragonspine. Right now you didn’t want to think about what kind of “work opportunity” there could be for the Harbringer on Dragonspine, all you could think about was seeing him again.
It has been months since you both parted ways in Liyue. You met him while being on a commission, funnily enough it was a bit similar how Bennett ran into him today. In one of Liyues ruins you looked for a book some historian in Liyue Harbour desperately tried to get their hands on. By the amount of Mora they were willing to pay it should’ve been obvious to you that it wasn’t a one-person mission… and still, you went alone into those ruins. You had no problem in destroying the first two ruin guards you ran into, but when three activated at the same time… If it weren’t for Tartaglia back then you would probably be dead. At first you were very thankful for his help, however when you found out he was also there for the book you needed your thankfulness quickly turned into anger. “Well, don’t you think I deserve a reward for helping you out, comrade?”, he teased you.
After that day you somehow always managed to run into him in Liyue Harbour or on your commissions. Back then you only knew him by his name used by the Fatui, Childe. Though it was well known in Liyue that he was one of the Harbringers, you somehow didn’t get that message after months of openly antagonising him. Only after Childe invited himself to your usual afternoon teas with your friend Zhongli you learned about his affiliations, but also more about him. If someone was hearing two people bickering, the people of Liyue knew it was you two. However none of it was malicious. Somehow it was the way you and Childe showed each other the appreciation you had for one another.
The first dislike you had for him grew quickly into a warm friendship. And that friendship grew in something more after awhile.
The first time you noticed a change in your feelings towards Childe was around the time of the Lantern rite festival. One night you were supposed to meet up with Zhongli - but Childe showed up in his instead. Apparently, so Childe, there was a lot to do at the Parlour because of a new promotion the director wanted to try and needed Zhonglis help with, so Zhongli asked Childe to accompany you to the Lantern rite.
Until this day you weren’t sure if this was just a set up by Zhongli, but even if it was, you wouldn’t hold it against him.
That night, when you and Childe walked around Liyue Harbour and watched the lanterns something fundamentally changed between the two of you. After that night you knew so much more about him and he about you. From that day on he wasn’t Childe anymore, he was Tartaglia. And both of you finally knew how the lips of the other felt on your own.
Now you were so close again to feel his warm arms around you, to listen to the sound of his heartbeat when you rested your head on his chest and to feel his lips on yours again. Oh how you missed him too.
Parting ways wasn’t easy. Both of you knew that it was best to not be so public with your relationship, for several reasons. On the one hand the Fatui weren’t what you would call popular - most people would use some stronger word to describe them. Being a Mondstadt citizen in Liyue openly dating a member of the Fatui, yeah no. On the other it was also not really well liked by the Tsaritsa for the members of the Fatui, no matter if you were just a low henchman or a Harbringer, to get involved in that way with outsides. With “not well liked” it was more implied that she forbade any romantic relationships outside and inside the Fatui ranks when they were on a mission. And Tartaglia was on a mission, a mission you knew nothing about, but to be honest? You preferred it that way. The longer you were able to ignore what it meant for him to be part of the Fatui, the better.
So because of all of this you both decided it would be best to keep the relationship in the shadows.
You both knew for sure was that you had to part ways one day, however none of you expected that you were the one going home before Tartaglia. There were a lot of nights of laying in bed with him, sharing stories from each of your homes. You told him about the Windblume Festival and Ludi Hapestrum, he told you about the festivals and traditions of Snezhnaya. When you shared stories of how your little siblings and you loved to collect as many dandelions as possible when you were children to pretend that it was snowing in the summer, he would counteract that story with the times he built entire fortresses with his siblings out of the snow in the winter. Only to then pull you closer and whisper in your ear that he’ll show you how to do that when you come with him back to Snezhnaya. You would always whisper back “okay, but first you’d need to glide with me off Startsnatch cliff”. The lovely nights you both spend together, telling each other of your homes and how much you want to show it to them were harshly interrupted by a letter you got from your family.
Life sometimes isn’t fair. It’s hard and it brutal and it’s short. So when you got the letter from your family informing you that the youngest member of the family had died, it broke you to pieces. They were only 14. That night Tartaglia held you in his arms, his hand on the back of your head, your head pressed into his chest and none of you could say a word. Only the sound of you crying piercing the quite room. Too heavy was the grief for anything to be said anyways.
The day immediately after you received that letter you and Tartaglia parted way, a quite and sad goodbye. None of you were actually sure when you would see each other again. With his hands against your tear stained face, the tears not only being shed out of grief but also out of the pain you had to leave your lover, he promised to write you as often as he could. You promised you would answer. And then you left, wishing he could come with you. Words you did not dare to speak, because you knew he couldn’t, no matter how much he wanted to.
Now you found yourself close to one of the Fatui camps on Dragonspine. It was quite irresponsible to just run up the mountain, without any proper preparation or knowledge where Tartaglias camp actually was. You sighed. The excitement of seeing him after such a long time, after just exchanging letters got the best of you. Frustrated with yourself you made your way towards the campsite, hoping that this time the Fatui henchmen wouldn’t immediately start attacking every stranger they see. However when you arrived at the camp site you saw that no one was there. Too exhausted from the commissions earlier in the day and running up the Dragonspine you let yourself fall down in front of the extinguished campfire. Slowly but surly the cold weather of the Dragonspine was catching up to you.
Going through your bag you were looking for the stones Tartaglia send with his letter, hoping to ignite a fire with them. But before you could find them you heart footsteps in the snow behind you.
You hadn’t even had the chance to turn around before you felt two arms looping around your body, immediately warming you up.
“Hey comrade, did you miss me?”
You felt his head on your shoulders and you couldn’t help but to lean your own against his. One of your hands made its way up to his face, touching his cheek. “Yes,” you whispered.
Turning your head you now looked into his deep blue eyes, they were filled with all the love he had for you. You wished he could look at you like this forever… that you could look at him forever.
Tartaglia leaned a bit forward, placing a soft kiss on your lips and you couldn’t help it but smile.
He slowly pulled away, entangling himself from the hug and holding his hand out to you. “Come, let’s go inside the tent. You must be freezing out here”.
Inside the tent Tartaglia threw one blanket on another blanket over another over you, while lecturing you on what appropriate clothing was for a weather like this. You really didn’t give it any second thought when you made your way to Dragonspine, still wearing the same clothes you would wear on a sunny day in Mondstadt. But you also couldn’t hide it how much you loved to just hear his voice, even when he was nagging you. “It’s fine really, now stop trying to bury me under all the blankets and warm me up yourself”, you took his hand and pulled him towards you onto the plank. “You know some people would find what you said very suggestiv”, he joked, joining you under the immense amount of blankets. “Mmmmh,” was the only thing you replied, completely enamoured with him having you by your side again. For a few minutes the both of you just laid there, close to each other and feeling each other’s heartbeat.
None of you could actually believe your luck to be in the arms of the other again. How much you had missed this. Missed him.
“Hey,” he spoke softly, making you look into his eyes again. “How you’ve been doing?”.
It was such a soft question and you knew what he meant. You wanted to tell him how exhausting everything has been since your arrival, how your family was breaking apart at all ends, what a shit show it all was. In your letters you only alluded to how bad it actually is. How it was all just made worse by him not being at your side. Though you knew you would have to tell him all of this sooner or later, right now you didn’t want to talk about it. Not in detail. Not when today was actually his special day. “It’s manageable, but better now that I’m here with you”, you replied to his question. “You?”
“Better, now that I have you here”, was his reply. You both smiled at each other, a warm and tender smile. Slowly you adjusted your position so that you now were laying on top of him, your chin on his chest. “Hey, there is something I forgot to tell you.”
“Oh, and what is it?”
“Happy Birthday, Tartaglia”, and with that you kissed him.

Amidst the golden blossoms (Lumine x Childe oneshot)
Olah! I'm back~!
First off, thank you so much for all the likes and love that you've given for my first oneshot 🥺
I'm sorry for not posting anything new for almost a month and honestly, writing this one was a real doozy. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy it and again,
Thank you very much and have a nice day!
-Sakura
Exploring Liyue was certainly a challenge. Given how the terrain is a mix of tall mountains, wet marshes and winding paths that go over and under the surface, it was completely different from that of Mondstadt. Though of course, the monsters here were a lot tougher and certainly became a pain in the ass when all she wanted was to explore this new land.
However, Lumine would always marvel at how everything is so yellow here. In many of the worlds they had visited before, yellow always symbolizes joy and light. In Teyvat, it represented the Geo element, loyal and grounded as it painted the trees, leaves floating in the breeze and the flowers that bloomed almost everywhere she went, resonating with the power of Geo that once lorded over this vast domain.
Though perhaps, it was the color she was most of as it that reminded her most of her beloved brother.
The girl let out a sigh as the Ruin Guard finally collapsed, fading to blue dust as she continued on her afternoon stroll. Nearing the clearing, she noticed the golden spiral she had discovered just a few days ago.
She remembered how beautiful it had looked from afar as she first saw it atop the mountain near Guili Plains. It was fascinating to say the least, as she glided down to examine it even further. Unfortunately, she was interrupted by some hilichurls nearby that somewhat soured her mood. Even after that, once she'd activated the elemental monuments, she was ambushed by an Eye of the Storm that she disposed of with some difficulty given that she only had Fischl as her team’s archer.
Yet at this moment, it seemed that what truly caught her eye was a blot of orange and gray that stood out from the golden landscape.
Deciding to take a closer look, she slowly approached with her footsteps slow and steady. When the figure finally came into focus, she tried to ignore how her heart skipped a beat.
Standing there was no other than Childe, or rather, Tartaglia, the eleventh Harbinger of the Fatui.
She quietly ducked behind the rock near her, peering out enough just to see. What was he doing here?
Their last encounter had not been so pleasant. After all, she had to defeat him three times and even after that, she had to clean up after him as he decided to summon an ancient god in the midst of a temper tantrum and beat the crap out of countless of his lackeys.
Looking at him like this seemed weird, listless and silent.  It was certainly different from the Childe she knew, given how she was well aware that underneath that boyish, annoyingly handsome exterior lay the fearsome spirit of a bloodthirsty warrior.
He was still staring up at the sky when she heard him speak. "Like what you see, ojou-chan?" Her eyes widened, somewhat startled. "You could take a picture you know, that way it'll last longer."
She clicked her tongue. There was no point in hiding anymore. She got up from her spot and strode near him seeing as he stood in the center of the spiral.
“So what brings you here?” he said with his usual, playful tone, a major difference from when he spoke during their final battle in the Golden House. His eyes were focused on her now, a smirk adorning his face.
“ I could ask you the same thing,” she huffed. She reminded herself to be on guard, after all this is the very same man who threatened to wipe out dozens of innocent people with zero hesitation.
He chuckled in reply. “Staying inside a stuffy bank the whole day just isn’t my style, you know?” He placed an arm on his hip and she noticed how the action made his top rise a little bit, giving her a peek of his well-toned abs.
He was a bloodthirsty warrior, yes, but an attractive one nonetheless.
He continued, “Plus, it’s amazing to see how different Liyue is from Snezhnaya.”
That statement certainly piqued her interest as she asked him with genuine curiosity. She was a traveller at heart after all. “Really? How so?”
Childe looked at her, somewhat surprised. She tilted her head a bit, somewhat bemused by his reaction until she realized the absence of caution in her words. “Shoot,” Lumine thought. “I-I mean-”
“ You know that there’s no harm in me telling you about my homeland, right?” he turned to her, crossing his arms.
She took a step back, “You can’t exactly blame me for not trusting you after you threw a whale at me. Twice.”
The girl was surprised to see him frown, eyes lowering a bit narrowing slightly.
Since when was he so emotional? Lumine thought this is definitely a big contrast to the Childe, or rather, Tartaglia, she was familiar with.
Although, she can’t deny that a part of her wanted to say sorry. It certainly wasn’t nice of her to treat him so coldy, especially now when he seemed to resemble the look of a kicked puppy. Sad but oddly cute. She immediately stopped her train of thought. She shouldn’t think that this man could be in any way adorable.
He sighed. “Then how about a spar? If you win, I’ll tell you all about Snezhnaya,” she noticed how his eyes gleamed at , “but if I win, you’ll share stories about your place.”
She blinked. “ I don’t see how this benefits you at all.” Given her time with Zhongli, she knows that there should be more to their deal than just stories.
He simply shrugged. “I mean I do get a good fight out of it and honestly, I’d really want to get to know more about you, ojou-chan.” There it was again, that impish, boyish smile that made her heart flutter slightly.
She put a hand to her chin, a vain attempt to hide the growing warmth on her cheeks.  Although some part of her told her she certainly shouldn’t be fraternizing with the enemy, there was no harm in a little sparring session. After all, she had beaten him before and this also seemed like a good chance to know more about the Tsaritsa too, if she could figure out a way to worm it out of him.
She wouldn’t dare to acknowledge how her heart did a little dance at the thought of getting to know more about him though.
She gazed at him, the small smile from earlier returning. “Fine, we have a deal.”
That seemed to have cheered him up as he quickly ran to one side of the spiral with her following suit and taking her place on the opposite end.
Even as the sun began to dip in the horizon, she could see glimmer in his eyes, blue orbs glowing in the faint sunlight. There seemed to be no trace of his gloomy disposition earlier, and she could almost imagine him with a tail that swung back and forth, much like how a puppy would greet its owner.
She shook her head. She really should stop with the dog similes.
She was immediately brought back to the present when an arrow whizzed past her, the sound ringing in her ear. She tried to mask her surprise with a straight face, eyebrow raised as she summoned her sword.
“Hey, eyes on me ojou-chan,” she didn’t miss how his voice sounded deeper, huskier, almost like a low growl. Pushing that thought away, she rolled sideways to dodge the incoming arrows then lunged, quickly closing the distance between them.
She wasn’t surprised to hear the sound of metal and water clashing, as she tried to push against him. She was forced to jump back when he switched to a spear, slicing a wide arc in front of him.
He continued his offense, switching again to his blades this time. He gave her blow after blow, leaving little room for her to maneuver in. She parried his every thrust with her own strikes, matching his speed and power. Lumine scanned his movements, eyes calculating for an opening.
Just as she expected, he became more apparently irritated with her sticking to defense.
“Come on, it isn’t fun when-” Lumine quickly cut him off, releasing the Anemo energy she had secretly been building up with her other hand in front of her, making him stumble slightly as she pressed on with her own barrage of attacks.
Even as he stepped away, she made sure that the last swing contained a small gust of wind that managed to graze his cheek. As he caught his breath, she tried to mimic his own cocky smirk. “Eyes on me, Childe.”
She had meant to mock him for earlier but instead she heard him laugh, a sweet, melodious sound that resonated within her. A voice in her head kept reminding her to stay on guard, that she should take the first chance to strike back.
But seeing him like this, eyes filled with so much light and a wide smile adorning his handsome features, filled her with a sense of satisfaction that tugged at her heartstrings.
“Ojou-chan," his laughter slowly calming, "you are simply adorable."
Lumine felt her cheeks flush as the grip on her sword tightened. "H-hey!"
"Alright, alright." His laughter finally died down as she saw him return to his former stance, his predatory gaze set on her once more yet the smile never left his lips. "Let's have some fun."
~
Their battle lasted until the moon had settled in the sky, bathing the land in its iridescent glow.
A strike here, a hit there, the two exchanged blows with no hesitation. The young warriors fought amidst the golden flowers, filling the air with the sounds of their blades clashing as the yellow petals glided along with them.
Time was lost to the two as they continued in their own world, a dance that only they knew as they kept up with each other's paces, making sure to keep the other on their toes.
But as always, Lumine was once more the victor, her blade pressed closely to the Harbinger's nape, successfully trapping him underneath her.
He was panting quite loudly, his chest rising steadily against her own. "Fine, you win." He let his blades melt away, hands raised in defeat.
Lumine smirked at his surrender as she could finally focus on steadying her own breath, willing her sword away as she huffed.
"Though I've gotta say," his eyes peeked downward then back to her, "I didn't expect that you'd want to go for another round."
She raised an eyebrow in reply, continuing to stare at him in confusion. That is until she glimpsed in the same direction, finally noticing how her legs were straddling his hips as she sat on top of his stomach, the heat emanating from his body seeping into her.
"Ah!" She immediately scrambled to get off of him, trying desperately to mask the crimson that bloomed on her cheeks by sitting a few meters away. Though some part of her missed his warmth, the rational part of her brain shoved that way back inside the depths of her thoughts.
Lumine noticed from the corner of her eye that he was gazing up at the sky. Feeling her blush slowly dissipate, she moved a little closer.
"So, what do you want to know first?" He was lying down now, his blue eyes shining underneath the moonlight.
She laid down next to him, her back slightly tickled by the blades of grass underneath her as they both stared up at the sky in silence.
"Can you tell me about your favorite places there?" She faced him, trying to mask the enthusiasm in her voice.
"From what I can remember…" he muttered, "We had this huge marketplace in the center of the city where my father would always take me and my siblings to buy all sorts of trinkets and goodies for mother. Afterwards he'd take us to an old bakery that also sold Sharlotka."
"What's that?"
"It's this really fluffy cake with apples that melts in your mouyh while you eat it. The apples give it a tart, fruity taste that also balances the sugar dusting on top." He sighed. "Man, I should really make some sometime."
"Hmm, where else...Oh, we also used to go to this frozen lake just a few minutes from our house where my father taught me how to ice-fish." He smiled at the thought. "My old man would make a competition of who got the biggest fish, and he'd always say these really corny jokes just to make me laugh when I had a bad day."
"Those were definetly simpler times." He looked wistful as he spoke.
Noticing how his mood lowered, Lumine spoke in a teasing tone, "you sound just like Daddy's little boy.
He was quick to return her taunt.  "On the contrary, I'm actually a proud Mama's boy," he smirked, "where do you think I got my passion for cooking?"
"Oh?" Playing along, she rolled her eyes. "So you're saying that your cooking tastes better than mine?"
"Girlie, I'm not saying. I know that I'd wipe the floor with just my own version of a Sweet Madame."
"I'd like to see you try, water boy." She laughed.
Their playful banter died down as they continued to watch the starry sky, the two basking in comfortable silence.
Childe was the first to speak. "Perhaps when you get there, you'd need someone who could show you around the city, maybe a few spots outside it too."
She smiled. "That does sound nice."
There it was. An unspoken promise that they would make plans to spend time with each other, not as Tartaglia and the Traveller, but as….friends?
She huffed slightly, friends was one way to put it. She was supposed to be wary of him, push him away and strike him down when the chance presented itself. He was a bad guy after all.
Yet somewhere in her heart knew that there was more to this man than his thirst for battle and his honey-sweet tongue.
"Lumine?"
"Hm?" Turning to face him once more, her eyes widen slightly at the foreign sight before her. For the first time ever, Childe's eyes looked unsure, perhaps even a little shy.
"Thank you for tonight." Never would she imagine that she would hear those words from him.
"What for?"
"It's been a while since I've shared something that wasn't work related…" he grinned, though she noticed it didn't reach his eyes this time, "I don't exactly have anyone to talk to about these things."
It finally dawned on her as she continued to stare at him, astounded at his confession. He was a lone soldier facing the world with nothing but his own strength to rely on. He was fierce and merciless, a force to be reckoned with.
Yet the Childe that she was talking to right now was the complete opposite. He was lonely. Vulnerable.
Lumine tried to speak, but she couldn't think of the right words to say. Instead, she reached out a hand to cup his cheek, breaking him from his stupor.
This was too risky. Too bold of a move that broke all the rules she had followed this whole time. Aether would warn her not to get attached for a traveller will never linger in one place for too long.
However, here she was stuck in an unknown world, comforting one of the most dangerous people in all of Teyvat.
"Well," she whispered, "you have me."
She expected him to laugh, to scoff at her and remind her that they were on opposite sides of a war. She thought he would pull away, and turn around to leave her there.
To her surprise, he squeezed her hand in his, relishing the warmth of her palm as he gazed at her with...Was that fondness? Were her eyes playing tricks on her or was his face turning pink too?
She squirmed underneath his stare. Why was she feeling so weird tonight?
Lumine couldn't stop a yawn from escaping her lips as she tried to fight off the wave of exhaustion that overcame her. Her whole body ached from their little skirmish earlier, on top of that she still couldn't make sense of all the emotions that swirled inside her head.
"Hey, stay with me."
Even though her mind screamed at her to move, her body struggled to do anything in her tired state. Her eyes were becoming heavier by the second as she struggled to stay awake. It didn't help that his voice sounded so calming, echoing in her ears until she was lulled to sleep.
~
Lumine opened her eyes as light illuminated her cozy room. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes, confused as to how she ended up here.
She wondered why she felt warmer than usual when a red cloth fell from her neck. She pulled it away, finally recognizing it as the scarf that Childe always wore.
He had brought her here. He actually went out of his way to make sure that she was safe despite how late it was. The thought warmed her heart a little more than she would have liked but she welcomed it all the same.
The girl looked around, wondering just where her flying companion was, cheeks warming as she took in the scent of his scarf.
It reminded her of an ocean breeze, salty and strong, with a hint of lemon as well. Wild and full of energy, just like him.
She shook her head out of her thoughts. It was too early for her to be so sappy.
Though try as she might, she couldn't seem to wipe off the wide smile on her face as she looked forward to the day ahead of her.

idk why but the idea that Xiao falls for Zhongli's pregnant widow is such a fascinating idea to me like that absolute chaos he must feel because??? She is his savior's wife??? And that is their child together??? (idk if he knows Zhongli is Rex Lapis bc his voicelines are vague about it) And that confused guilt is worse when he sometimes lapses into short lived fantasies that both the s/o and child are his. I bet the other adepti are like "ohoh?" when the s/o moves to wangshuu inn for Xiao.
I also thought it was fascinating! You’ve got this Adeptus who has never fallen in love before and then you’ve got Zhongli’s pregnant lover, who is now widowed and grieving. Something about that just feels wrong to him. He doesn’t think you deserve to be alone during this and he feels obligated to lend a hand because Rex Lapis saved him. He has to find some way to save you now. At first he just told you that he’d be willing to help if anything’s giving you trouble and that the other Adepti might help with the baby, but you shouldn’t feel pressured. He’s honestly shocked when you choose to live with him at Wangshu.
At this point, you’re just needing someone to keep you company so that you can uphold your strength and be ready for when you give birth. There are a lot of things on your mind; you’re worried that your stress will affect the baby and you’re afraid you won’t be able to deliver them when the time comes. All of these fears poke at your already fractured heart and you feel like you should at least accept Xiao’s offer.
When you do accept, he’s somewhat surprised. Xiao didn’t expect you to so willingly want his help, but he supposes there’s no backing out now. Through the time that he spends with you, helping you with your pregnancy and making sure you’re not skipping meals, he gets closer to you. A bond forms between the two of you, where you actually become his first friend in a long, long time. You make him feel all sorts of emotions he’s never experienced before and even though he’s never really thought much of children he’s willing to give it a try.
Imagine how shocking it would be if your child recognizes Xiao as the father because he was there when you delivered your baby. He aided in the process, held your hand, and reassured you. And he’s constantly around you. So as your baby grows and gains the ability to speak small words, what if one of those words is ‘daddy’? You try to explain to your baby that Xiao isn’t their father. Rex Lapis is. But your child mixes them up and ends up saying Xiao’s name more often because that’s what they hear the most.
And Xiao knows he shouldn’t feel happy about it because this isn’t his kid. But it feels like it and that’s what conflicts him the most. It almost feels like he’s betraying his savior when the baby waddles over to him and calls him ‘daddy’ or ‘papa.’ Every now and then he forgets that the three of you aren’t a family; you’re just friends and not lovers who created a small life together. But Xiao really wishes that was the case now. At least he’d feel less guilty about his feelings if you were his true lover and this was his child.
