The Broadway version of hadestown makes it really feel like eurydice is like. bullying a mentally ill man who got left in the washer
#He's supposed to be saying he'll make the trees sing or whatever#because he's overly confident and exaggeratedly saying that the land will provide#so then she has reasonable concerns#but here this poor guy has a grandiose delusion somehow despite being incredibly wet#and shes just mean to him. like. girl....#i wouldnt call him a liar or a player he doesnt have the confidence to be either#when i saw the off broadway version it made me instantly understand his character and i was delighted by the lack of magic song of the gods#and it also made me hate the broadway version so much#hadestown
