Sokeefe Oneshots
Don't judge me. This is my OTP, so I had to do something with them.
They snuggle ALL the time
So much
More keefe because he never had that as a child
So he just comes up to Sophie like 😶
And she just hugs him super tight
And he just MELTS at her touch
They are both total night owls
But Keefe is always up earlier no matter what
He makes her breakfast pretty much everyday
Sophie is not alive without her coffee (do elves drink coffee???)
They watch movies all the time together
Mostly comedies
Sophie never makes it too the end. She always falls asleep leaning on Keefe
Of course Keefe doesn't mind very much
They go on double dates with Fitz and Lihn
Which can be awkward but fun
Keefe is very gentle to the kids (if they have kids, Idk?) Because of his childhood
Sophie is super sweet too but will give them a long lecture if they do anything too serious
They have a lot of animals
Like dogs, cats, some fish, a turtle, a hamster. The list goes on.
The cat likes Keefe significantly better and Sophie has no idea why
She does everything she can to get them to like her but the cat hates her
No matter what
Keefe does most of the cooking
But Sophie does the baking
Keefe is banned from using the toaster after he left burnt toast sitting in it for days while Sophie was away
Keefe doesn't sleep very much, but when he does, Sophie will lay on top of him and snuggle against his chest
When they are away Sophie uses her telepathy to talk to him
He always responds no matter what he is doing
Keefe and Sophie both LOVE giving gifts to each other
Keefe paints her pictures all the time
Sophie hangs them up everywhere
So there are just a bunch of pictures on the walls
Keefe has his own art studio with a ton of windows and everything an artist could want
Sophie makes sure to keep his supplies stocked
Lord Cassius is never allowed over
However, Grady and Edaline practically live there
Grady still calls Keefe "that boy" as a joke
Family nights with the whole gang get INTENSE
Keefe dominates at any card game they play
No matter what
He is just great at them all
Sophie loses no matter who she plays against or what game they play
But they all have fun anyway
Keefe will give Sophie kisses all over, not just her face
She loves them and giggles when he does
He braids her hair all the time
It soothes her and she enjoys hearing him hum as he works
They both sing and play music a lot
All the time
Keefe still plays pranks constantly
But Sophie finds them funny instead of annoying
When Sophie laughs, Keefe freezes for a moment to watch her
She does the same for him
I literally love these two. They need to get together❤
Just tagging you cuz: @crymeariveronceagain
I wrote this cuz I think after Unlocked we all need a little more sweetness in our lives.
Take care! (My requests are open btw)

Chapter 2
Keeper of the Lost Cities - Shannon Messenger (October 2, 2012)
Woo! Chapter 2! I promise this one won’t be as long as my chapter 1 review lol.
The car swerved right - missing Sophie by inches - then jumped the curb and sideswiped a streetlamp. (Ch.2, p. 12)
The way Sophie goes from unlucky, lucky, and back to unlucky again genuinely intrigues me.
The bright blue lantern floated above her, somehow held up by her mind. (Ch.2, p. 13)
This scene is going to be insane in the live action remake, I can already tell. Also: I don’t remember Sophie practicing telekinesis much? Is this just something she can do? On the spot? I already ranted about Sophie’s powers in chapter one, but damn, this girl can already do so much without the extra added abilities she gains later in the series. Reading people’s mind is one thing, but controlling and moving objects is something completely different! Telepathy, Telekinesis, Photographic Memory... what else is there to the list? And on top of that she just gets these powers triggered through her fall as five year old. When I fell and sprained my elbow at age five, all that did was take away my chances at being an astronaut.
Fitz’s body broke her fall as she landed against his chest. (Ch.2, p. 13)
*insert gif of Robert Downey Jr. rolling his eyes as Tony Stark* Not this cliché! There’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t like it lol. But since it has only happened once so far, I’ll allow it.
“We need to get out of here,” Fitz warned, pointing to the driver, who was staring at them like he’d witnessed a miracle. (Ch.2, p. 13)
Imagine seeing a 12 y/o hold up a lantern with her mind. This guy is probably in therapy right now, unless they did remember to erase his memory (and fix his car!) from this day.
She didn’t want to be alone with him, so she pointed north, toward the San Diego Zoo, where there was sure to be a crowd - even during a firestorm. (Ch.2, p. 14)
Applauding Sophie for this, I’m sure not many kids her age would have thought to go to a public place like this!
Her mind ran through terrifying scenarios, most of which involved government agents throwing her into a dark vans to run experiments on her. (Ch.2, p. 14)
First thing - why is van plural? Second thing - isn’t that what they tried to do at the end of book one? (I don’t remember, I remember that she was kidnapped and taken to France, but not the details. Good thing I’m rereading!) If I had a strange ability I would also be worried about the government doing experiments on me, so I’m glad this was brought up lol.
“What do you want?” she asked when she caught her breath. (Ch.2, p. 14)
Cutting to the chase, love that Sophie!
“We all have blue eyes.” [Fitz] (Ch.2, p. 15)
This whole “everyone has blue eyes” thing is weird. I understand where Shannon was coming from, but it’s just a little too controversial for my liking. Sophie is already different for being raised by humans, so why make the eye color such a big deal? Is it really that important to the plot? Maybe it is, and I hope it really helps to de-stigmatized the idea that brown eyes are inferior to blue eyes, but Shannon Messenger never really sets in stone that brown eyes are just as good as blue eyes since it’s not as relevant to the story. Also, why blue? Why not just make brown the one outlier, and give other elves cool eye colors like purple, orange, and red? This just feels too messy.
He closed his eyes, and vanished. (Ch.2, p. 16)
I thought Fitz was exclusively a telepath, how can he vanish? I must remember the abilities differently, as I thought that you can only specialize in one ability and not in others (Except for Sophie, our #chosenone). I’m guessed he learned it from his vanisher family members, but still, another thing that doesn’t really get explained all too well.
Ok! End of the second chapter review, I hope this one wasn’t too hefty!
