What if Fushimi got angrier than usual at Domyouji for his reports or something and goes too far in yelling at him maybe and he feels bad so he tries to apologize in his own way :D

Poor Fushimi, having to apologize to Doumyouji is probably like one of his nightmares XD Imagine this like post-ROK, say Fushimi's been trying his best to be a little more personable and not instantly snap at the alphabet boys all the time when they do something stupid. Obviously Doumyouji is the one who tests Fushimi's new resolve the most, like Fushimi doesn't see why he has to be nice when Doumyouji insists on continuing to be an idiot. Fushimi's trying though, at the very least he isn't going to throw knives at people anymore. Then say one day Doumyouji makes some kind of huge mistake, like he accidentally destroys a week's worth of paperwork and now Fushimi has to do the whole thing over again. When Fushimi realizes what happened he is just super mad, imagine Doumyouji all nervous like 'oops, sorry, Fushimi-san but no hard feelings right' and Fushimi just snaps and starts ranting at Doumyouji about what a worthless idiot he is.

Afterward it turns out that Fushimi had some kind of backup that kicked in and all the paperwork was saved, Fushimi's relieved and doesn't even really think about Doumyouji until the next day when he walks into the office and Doumyouji is noticeably quiet. Doumyouji seems uncharacteristically crestfallen too, like he's sort of depressed and it's very obvious that he's upset about something. Fushimi begins to have vague uncomfortable feelings but tries to clamp them down. Later the squad are all eating dinner and Doumyouji is absent so of course they're all gossiping about what could be wrong with him and Kamo mentions that Doumyouji said Fushimi-san yelled at him. Immediately everyone looks over at Fushimi who gets all defensive like I just called him an idiot and he deserved it and I don't see what the problem is. Hidaka's like maybe you hurt his feelings and Fushimi says that can't be the case though really he's feeling all uncomfortable again. Kamo says it did seem like Doumyouji was taking it personally and Fushimi grumbles that it wasn't personal he was just...annoyed. He doesn't want to admit that he knows he should apologize but of course it keeps eating at him, seeing Doumyouji looking all quiet and sad and finally Fushimi gives this heavy sigh like fine fine I'll handle it.

The next day Doumyouji is working on a report and he's writing it properly, no drawings or extra embellishments at all and Fushimi walks up to him. Doumyouji straightens and is being all formal like yes sir, Fushimi sighs again and hands him a box of crayons. Doumyouji looks at the crayons in confusion and Fushimi looks away as he mutters that Doumyouji should just use these for the report. He says that Doumyouji is still an idiot for messing things up but it was fixable and the atmosphere in the office isn't the same when Doumyouji's in this mood, so just use the crayons already. Fushimi grudgingly admits that the 'old' Doumyouji is better than this current one and Doumyouji just gets this slowly dawning smile as he realizes that Fushimi is actually apologizing to him. Imagine he gets all excited now, jumping up and patting Fushimi's back like aw Fushimi-san I didn't know you liked me so much and of course now Fushimi's all annoyed again like I don't like you stop touching me.

What if in Japan they suddenly make it compulsary to have a degree to work so even saru has to go to a uni and yata too ofc. So i guess uni au??? And maybe they are in that phase when they havent yet reconciled entirely but crushing on each other v bad and basically Pining and Suffering. Oh oh and maybe some making out """"on accident"""" but they say they were just experimenting or some shit like that (oh my god they were roommates!) Eventual fluff?;u;

That would be a random law…maybe it’s made compulsory that anyoneworking in government has to have a degree and even Scepter 4 is notimmune, Fushimi of course doesn’t see the point in going to collegebut Munakata assures him that Munakata can arrange things so itdoesn’t interfere with Fushimi’s work and besides, Scepter 4’s not sobusy now with the Slate destroyed and everything so this might be agood chance for Fushimi to enjoy a normal healthy school life.Fushimi would rather do anything but have a happy healthy school lifebut he doesn’t really have a choice – Munakata doesn’t have theinfluence he once did and even he can’t get Fushimi out of therequirement, if Fushimi wants to remain working at Scepter 4 he hasto be actively enrolled in college (also imagine Fushimi complainingthat doesn’t this mean Doumyouji has to as well, only to find outDoumyouji has been attending online college all this time and alreadyhas his degree. Fushimi’s like ‘why can’t I attend online schoolsthen’ and is helpfully informed by Munakata that those no longercount towards the requirement, Fushimi is secretly a little mortifiedthat Doumyouji has a degree and Fushimi doesn’t).

So Fushimi reluctantly starts attending a school that’s not terriblyfar away from Scepter 4 headquarters, he initially assumes he’llstill be living at the dorms when he is helpfully informed byMunakata that living in a dorm with one’s peers is part of a healthyschool life and so Munakata has set him up with a room on campus.Fushimi complains that he already shares a dorm with his'peers’ and besides he can’t sleep in a room where someone else is.Munakata assures Fushimi that he has taken Fushimi’s particularissues into consideration, Fushimi assumes this means he has his ownroom. He learns how wrong he is when he moves his things into his newdorm and comes face to face with his new roommate, Yata. Yata didn’teven know Fushimi was attending school and they both have a'wait, what the fuck’ moment, which is when Munakata texts Fushimiasking if he’s met his new roommate yet, Munakata thought Fushimiwould be pleased with the choice.

As it turns out Yata’s gotten tired of jumping from part time job topart time job and he’s trying to pursue a career as like aprofessional skateboarder but maybe there’s pressure on him to have acollege degree, like he has some potential sponsors who could givehim money for showing up at skateboard competitions but they don’twant to take the chance on some random kid off the street, showingthat he can buckle down and get a degree is considered a plus.Kusanagi pulled some strings to get Yata into the nearby college,Yata was originally assigned to a different dorm but his assignmentwas changed at the last minute by 'special request’ (Munakata noteshappily that Fushimi-kun should have no complaints with his currentliving arrangements, as he was given the one roommate Munakata knowshe is able to share a room with). Say Yata and Fushimi haven’t quitemade up yet either, like they’re tentatively friends again but thingsare still awkward and Fushimi’s initial instinct is to turn and leavethe room now while he can. Yata’s actually kinda excited to berooming with Fushimi again though and he’s so eager that Fushimifinds himself swept along in it, putting his things on the top bunkwithout even thinking and smiling back when Yata happily says thatit’s just like old times, isn’t it.

The two of them don’t have many classes together and at first Fushimitries to avoid Yata when he can, going to the library to study orback to Scepter 4. Then one day Yata asks Fushimi if he wants to comewatch Yata practice skateboarding, Fushimi shrugs like why not. Hefigures he’ll just play on his PDA in the corner while Yata practicesbut he finds himself staring the whole time, totally mesmerized,andmeanwhile Yata keeps showing off wanting to look good for Fushimi.From there they settle into a bit of a rhythm, Yata makes Fushimi hismeals and Fushimi helps Yata study sometimes and it’s comfortable butalso a little awkward because they both start to realize that theyhave feelings for each other but neither one wants to admit it. Thenone day Yata manages to drag Fushimi to a party on campus, Fushimisulks in the corner all evening nursing a single beer until amostly-drunk Yata drags him onto the dance floor and grinds againsthim a bit and Fushimi needs more beer to handle this. They end upstumbling back to the room both drunk and giggly, sharing stories ofold times and fights that they won together and soon they’redrunkenly making out on Yata’s bunk. Fushimi wakes up the nextmorning with an enormous migraine lying next to a half-naked Yata andtotally has a freak out moment where he assumes that he’s just madethis huge mistake, that no way will Yata ever like him back this wasjust the beer talking, and he’s not any reassured when Yata wakes upand immediately starts apologizing. Fushimi gets irritated with himand soon the two of them are fighting over whose fault the drunkenmakeout was, except in the middle of it they end up yelling out theirreal feelings. There’s a moment of silence as it sinks in and thenthey’re both suddenly making out again, messy and desperate and notreally sure what they’re doing and later Fushimi denies that heinitiated anything at all while Yata’s just happy and laughing andtelling his stupid boyfriend to stop being such a grump.
