#Saru is not so good at this apologizing thing XD

What if Fushimi got angrier than usual at Domyouji for his reports or something and goes too far in yelling at him maybe and he feels bad so he tries to apologize in his own way :D

Poor Fushimi, having to apologize to Doumyouji is probably like one of his nightmares XD Imagine this like post-ROK, say Fushimi's been trying his best to be a little more personable and not instantly snap at the alphabet boys all the time when they do something stupid. Obviously Doumyouji is the one who tests Fushimi's new resolve the most, like Fushimi doesn't see why he has to be nice when Doumyouji insists on continuing to be an idiot. Fushimi's trying though, at the very least he isn't going to throw knives at people anymore. Then say one day Doumyouji makes some kind of huge mistake, like he accidentally destroys a week's worth of paperwork and now Fushimi has to do the whole thing over again. When Fushimi realizes what happened he is just super mad, imagine Doumyouji all nervous like 'oops, sorry, Fushimi-san but no hard feelings right' and Fushimi just snaps and starts ranting at Doumyouji about what a worthless idiot he is.

Afterward it turns out that Fushimi had some kind of backup that kicked in and all the paperwork was saved, Fushimi's relieved and doesn't even really think about Doumyouji until the next day when he walks into the office and Doumyouji is noticeably quiet. Doumyouji seems uncharacteristically crestfallen too, like he's sort of depressed and it's very obvious that he's upset about something. Fushimi begins to have vague uncomfortable feelings but tries to clamp them down. Later the squad are all eating dinner and Doumyouji is absent so of course they're all gossiping about what could be wrong with him and Kamo mentions that Doumyouji said Fushimi-san yelled at him. Immediately everyone looks over at Fushimi who gets all defensive like I just called him an idiot and he deserved it and I don't see what the problem is. Hidaka's like maybe you hurt his feelings and Fushimi says that can't be the case though really he's feeling all uncomfortable again. Kamo says it did seem like Doumyouji was taking it personally and Fushimi grumbles that it wasn't personal he was just...annoyed. He doesn't want to admit that he knows he should apologize but of course it keeps eating at him, seeing Doumyouji looking all quiet and sad and finally Fushimi gives this heavy sigh like fine fine I'll handle it.

The next day Doumyouji is working on a report and he's writing it properly, no drawings or extra embellishments at all and Fushimi walks up to him. Doumyouji straightens and is being all formal like yes sir, Fushimi sighs again and hands him a box of crayons. Doumyouji looks at the crayons in confusion and Fushimi looks away as he mutters that Doumyouji should just use these for the report. He says that Doumyouji is still an idiot for messing things up but it was fixable and the atmosphere in the office isn't the same when Doumyouji's in this mood, so just use the crayons already. Fushimi grudgingly admits that the 'old' Doumyouji is better than this current one and Doumyouji just gets this slowly dawning smile as he realizes that Fushimi is actually apologizing to him. Imagine he gets all excited now, jumping up and patting Fushimi's back like aw Fushimi-san I didn't know you liked me so much and of course now Fushimi's all annoyed again like I don't like you stop touching me.

  HOSHITANI: I’m Hoshitani Yuuta!

HOSHITANI: After overcoming our trials in Ayanagi Academy’s prestigious music festival, it’s finally been decided that we’ll be entering the Musical Department in our second year!

HOSHITANI: This is a light-hearted little story about our spring break that happened while we were waiting for the new school term.

 HOSHITANI: Chapter 01: In the Dorm’s Cafeteria!

(boiling sounds)

  TATSUMI: Fufu. Alright, dig in ♪

(Tatsumi sets a plate in front of them)

KUGA/HOSHITANI: …

HOSHITANI: You… made this curry, didn’t you, Tatsumi?

TATSUMI: (with a slightly ominous tone of voice) That’s right. I followed Nayuki’s instructions right to the letter.

TATSUMI: Right~?

NAYUKI: (with a nervous and slightly shivering voice) Ye-yeah…

KUGA: (sniffing) It smells… normal.

HOSHITANI: It looks… Like normal curry, huh?

TATSUMI: That’s because what I made is curry, you know~?

HOSHITANI: You’re right!

TATSUMI: Nayuki, I’m sorry for asking you to do something strange in the middle of spring break.

TATSUMI: I just asked you “Will you please teach me how to cook?” and all.

NAYUKI: No problem… That’s all okay but… Why so suddenly?

HOSHITANI: Yeah. I mean, putting Nayuki who likes cooking aside, the dorm mother cooks the meals and there’s the school store during lunch so I don’t think it really matters if you knew how to cook or not…

TATSUMI: There’s really no deep reason.

TATSUMI: Eigo and I didn’t go back to our hometown for spring break. And since we didn’t have any homework and Eigo’s off somewhere else trying to gain “new experiences,” I just got bored.

TATSUMI: I was looking for something good to do.

TATSUMI: And then I thought it’d be a good chance to improve my cooking.

NAYUKI: Oh…

HOSHITANI: I see now~! Tatsumi, you’re really amazing!

HOSHITANI: You’re already perfect at musicals, you’re good at sports, and you’re so smart, too!

HOSHITANI: You’d be the best if you got better at cooking, y’know~?

KUGA: Your desire for improvement is admirable.

TATSUMI: Well, I only wanted to try because I haven’t done it before.

NAYUKI: Yeah…

HOSHITANI: Alright~ If that’s the case then, I’ll happily become a taste tester for you~

HOSHITANI: Somehow, I’m sorry. After what happened during the sports festival, I kinda put myself on guard [when it comes to your cooking]. (chuckles)

HOSHITANI: But, I was actually a bit curious about Tatsumi’s cooking~

KUGA: Me, too. It doesn’t look too complex so I think it’d taste good.

TATSUMI: That’s very encouraging to hear~

NAYUKI: (silently panicking)  

TATSUMI: Then, Hoshitani, Kuga, please have some before it gets cold ♪

KUGA/HOSHITANI: Yeah.

KUGA/HOSHITANI: Thanks for the food. / Thank you for the food~!

(they start eating)

 KUGA/HOSHITANI: …!!!!!!!

NAYUKI: Hoshitani-kun! Kuga-kun!

(Hoshitani’s spoon clatters)

HOSHITANI: (choking)

NAYUKI: (panicking)

TATSUMI: Fufufu~ How’s the taste, you two~?

HOSHITANI: (with a strained and forced voice) Y-yeah… I-it’s okay…!

KUGA: (choking and hitting the table with his fists)

NAYUKI: U-um…! Would you like some water?!

HOSHITANI: P-please give me some…!

KUGA: Give it…!

(they drink the water desperately)

KUGA/HOSHITANI: (gasping for air)

KUGA: H-How do I put this…?

HOSHITANI: It was a very stimulating flavour… Or something…? No…?

KUGA: Ah… Well… I guess so…

NAYUKI: A-ah…

EIGO: You don’t have to force yourselves, Hoshitani-kun, Kuga-kun.

ALL: Huh?

EIGO: Good afternoon.

UGAWA: Hello~!

TATSUMI: (excited) Eigo!

NAYUKI: Ugawa-kun?

EIGO: Tatsumi…

EIGO: I let my eyes off of you for a second and then, you go on ahead and put an apron on…

TATSUMI: Nayuki let me borrow it~

EIGO: No, I didn’t mean it that way.

UGAWA: Are you guys okay? Hoshitani-kun and Kuga-kun look so blue.

EIGO: Ah… Everyone, I sincerely apologize for the trouble Tatsumi has caused.

NAYUKI: Ah, please don’t.

HOSHITANI: It wasn’t really any trouble at all.

HOSHITANI: Um… It was a liiiiiiiiiiiitle bit unique for a curry.

KUGA: I don’t think… that it’s… inedible…

EIGO: You can be direct, you know? Tatsumi is aware that he’s very bad at cooking.

TATSUMI: I am aware but, I can’t really tell.

(Tatsumi tastes the curry he made)

TATSUMI: I think it’s delicious though~

EIGO: Ah, Tatsumi! You shouldn’t eat something like that. It’s poisonous for your body.

UGAWA: Saru-kun…

HOSHITANI: That direct…?!

KUGA: He has no sense for cooking…?

NAYUKI: Or maybe he just has no sense of taste…?

TATSUMI: But, it’s strange… I thought I made it exactly according to Nayuki’s recipe and instructions…

TATSUMI: I wonder why the taste is so different…

UGAWA: It’s true that that’s a bit strange.

UGAWA: Maybe Tatsumin’s poisonous?

HOSHITANI: Oh, like something comes out of his hands and stuff~?

NAYUKI: Eh?!

EIGO: None of that matters.

ALL: Huh?

EIGO: Tatsumi, even if you are not good with cooking, you have been gifted with a lot of other talents.

EIGO: Standing confidently on stage suits you so much better than standing in a kitchen you’re unfamiliar with.

TATSUMI: (chuckles) I feel like you’re being exaggerated.

TATSUMI: But, if you say so, then I’ll make this the last day I try cooking, Eigo~

EIGO: That will be wonderful, Tatsumi.

EIGO/TATSUMI: Fufufu~

UGAWA: Um…

KUGA: They’re completely lost in their own world, huh.

HOSHITANI: They really get along well, huh~

NAYUKI: (chuckles) That’s right.

  UGAWA: Hm? Hey, Nayuki-kun.

UGAWA: What’s that pot over there? Did Tatsumin make that much curry?

NAYUKI: Oh, this? (Nayuki grabs the pot)

NAYUKI: This is the curry I made as an example.

NAYUKI: I have to refrigerate it since I made so much… Oh! Would you guys like to have it for dinner then, Hoshitani-kun?

NAYUKI: Since the dorm mother is off today.

HOSHITANI: Ah, I want some! What about Kuga?

KUGA: I’ll eat.

NAYUKI: Then, I’ll make some hamburg, too, and turn it into hamburg curry~

HOSHITANI: Alright! It’s my favorite~!

KUGA: You think Tengenji and Tsukigami’d like some, too?

UGAWA: Team Otori’s just like a family now, huh?

HOSHITANI: What about Team Hiragi? Do you guys want to eat with us~?

UGAWA: Eh?

TATSUMI: Nayuki’s cooking is perfect after all~ Should we join, Eigo?

EIGO: Indeed.

UGAWA: Yeah. I-if it’s not a bother then…

NAYUKI: Of course it’s not. I made enough for everyone after all.

HOSHITANI: Ah! Then, why don’t we try inviting the other teams, too?

ALL: Eh?

KUGA: By other teams, you mean…?

HOSHITANI: Team Akatsuki, Team Yuzuriha, and Team Sazanami~!

HOSHITANI: I mean, they’ll be our classmates starting this April, right? They’ll be our friends who’ll do their best in the Musical Department, too~

HOSHITANI: Plus, there are some I haven’t talked to yet, you know?

HOSHITANI: Let’s try to invite the others who didn’t go back to their hometowns, too, and let’s have a social gathering~

HOSHITANI: Kinda like a celebration party for being accepted in the Musical Department!

UGAWA: A celebration party?

NAYUKI: (chuckles) Hoshitani-kun said the same thing when we got accepted to Team Otori, too.

NAYUKI: He said, “I wanna have a celebration party with everyone in the team~!”

HOSHITANI: I didn’t manage to get along with everyone quickly that time so, we couldn’t do it in the end, huh?

EIGO: Is that so?

UGAWA: It’s a bit unexpected that you didn’t get along well.

TATSUMI: If that’s the case then I’m all for it~ A social gathering-slash-celebratory party~

TATSUMI: But…

HOSHITANI: Hm?

TATSUMI: Unlike us, I wonder if the other teams would agree to join… Right, Eigo?

EIGO: Indeed… There are some quite… difficult to handle people after all.

HOSHITANI: Difficult to handle?

TATSUMI: Ah, I’m sorry. I guess that was too much.

TATSUMI: I’m sure that it’s nothing you need to worry about, Hoshitani~

HOSHITANI: Huh…?

TATSUMI: (chuckles) Ugawa, can you go ask Toraishi and Inumine, too?

TATSUMI: I’m sure that Toraishi would try to contact the members from the other teams, too.

UGAWA: Yeah, got it.

NAYUKI: Then, I’ll go and tell Tsukigami-kun and Tengenji-kun—

KUGA: Tengenji’s probably in our room.

Does Fushimi ever manifest regret after he and Yata reconcile? Or, generally just show any sign that he knows he fucked up too, and their whole mess isn't all Yata's fault for "nOt NoTiCiNg" how he felt while in Homra? Sorry if this sounds a bit mean to Fushimi hehe, I kind of just get annoyed sometimes at how people seem to push the blame too heavily on Yata, when they're kind of equally at fault??

I feel like the last chapter of the LSW manga kinda hints at least that Fushimi does feel some regret (Yata's “sense of guilt” comment seems to be pushing in that direction too) but that's one thing I was disappointed in as far as Fushimi's development goes, we never really see him properly admit that he did screw everything up and that a big part of what split him and Yata apart was his own fears and insecurities. Even though I'm a Fushimi fan I agree with you that fandom can be a bit too hard on Yata sometimes, he gets a lot of flack for 'not noticing' Fushimi once they join Homra but there's ample evidence that Fushimi was also actively pulling away from Yata at the same time and that he refused to communicate because he was basically expecting Yata to read his mind and then getting upset when Yata couldn't. A lot of the reason why Yata and Fushimi had their big break up can be laid at Fushimi's feet, including the fact that it went on so long – in the MOR cellar chapters we see Yata actively trying to reconcile with Fushimi and Fushimi rejecting it, because he can't bring himself to trust in Yata's honest feelings. He's also the one that framed the entire thing in betrayal terms, I think Yata would have eventually gotten over Fushimi going to Scepter 4 if Fushimi had just outright stated that he was uncomfortable in Homra – Fushimi's the one that made it a betrayal, who wanted to paint himself in that color in order to make Yata hate him more.

That said, I do like to think that at some point Fushimi does actively express regret to Yata, I think he almost would have to for their relationship to be fully mended. Yata made his own mistakes but I feel like he's very willing to own up to them (and if Fushimi would tell him honestly what the issue is I think Yata would respond to it, the problem was never Yata ignoring Fushimi it was that Fushimi couldn't bring himself to say that he felt ignored and so he just kept pulling away instead). Fushimi on the other hand I think would be a bit more roundabout when it comes to his own part in everything, just because it's harder for him to speak honestly and because I think if he really fully told Yata everything that was going on it would be baring more of his trauma than he's willing to own up to, at least at the moment. I could see it being more like they have their talk and Yata's ready to make up while Fushimi's sitting there all shifting and uncomfortable, this little pain in his chest like he knows he needs to say something more but he can't quite figure out the words, and there's a resignation in Yata's expression that makes Fushimi's head hurt. At some point Yata gets up to leave and go home and Fushimi almost reaches to stop him, hovering just behind him and trying to grasp his own feelings and finally he manages this stilted, unsure 'Misaki....sorry.' Yata freezes and whirls to look at him, Fushimi's looking away and clicking his tongue like he's annoyed at his own weakness but it just makes Yata feel suddenly so much lighter and happier. Yata grins and says it's fine, Fushimi mumbles that he doesn't need Yata to say that but really he also feels like a small weight's been lifted off, like he still can't say entirely what he feels but this is a start and that's enough for right now.

Misaki confesses to Saru, and gives him a kiss. Saru doesn't respond, and Misaki takes that as a rejection, so he starts apologizing. What he doesn't get is that he broke Fushimi for a second, but the moment Fushimi registers what's going on, he immediately kisses Misaki. And then he does it again. And again. And then again. And-- well, you get the idea.

Fushimi's brain needs a moment to reboot XD Imagine Yata preparing for his big confession, like he invites Fushimi over for dinner super casual-like but then he makes a good meal and sets up like a couple candles and tries to set a mood. Fushimi of course totally misses Yata's attempts at romance and is fiddling with his PDA for half the meal, Yata finally has to like wrench it out of his hands all 'can you just hear me out for a second.' Yata coughs and steels himself as he tells Fushimi that they've been hanging out a lot lately and Yata's finally realized some stuff that he thinks has probably been building since middle school. Fushimi is immediately on alert, probably thinking that Misaki's about to like break up their friendship or something since Fushimi's been so terrible to him. Yata can tell from a look too and he quickly tries to push ahead like no no it's a good thing and in the end his confession spills out all in a rush, that he loves Fushimi and always has, and Yata leans forward and gives Fushimi this quick but heartfelt kiss.

Yata's even surprised by himself a bit at that last part, like he can't believe he really kissed Saruhiko. Yata's face is all red as he looks up like 'So...what do you think, Saruhiko?'. Fushimi doesn't answer, just staring at Yata kinda fixedly and Yata's immediately like shit I messed up didn't I. He starts to haltingly apologize, saying they can still be friends and he's sorry he just leaned in and kissed Fushimi out of nowhere. Fushimi isn't registering a single word of this though because his mental monologue is something like 'Misaki kissed me. I was kissed by Misaki. Misaki...kissing. Misaki kisses. Kisses from Misaki' and he's having a bit of a blue screen moment. Yata's like 'Saruhiko...?', worried that Fushimi's really pissed at him now. He apologizes again, saying Fushimi can just forget it and if Fushimi doesn’t feel the same it's totally fine. This is about when Fushimi's brain finally comes back online and he realizes that Yata's getting the wrong idea completely. Fushimi isn't sure how to tell him this though – the speech part of his brain is moving very sluggishly currently – so he ends up just pinning Yata down and kissing him hard on the mouth. When the separate Yata's gasping for air a little but also smiling like 'so...that's a yes?'. Fushimi just leans in and kisses him again, he doesn't need a functioning brain for this sort of reply at least.

Septer 4 alphabet boys teasing misaki pos rok... How would saru react?

‘Only I get to tease Misaki’ or something of the sort XD I think it would depend on the type of teasing, like I can see Yata getting along with some of them and there’s a lot of light-hearted teasing – I can definitely see him talking with like Doumyouji or Hidaka and they’re all ribbing each other and having a good friendly time and Yata doesn’t even mind much being teased and gives as good as he gets. In that case I could see Fushimi feeling a little jealous and trying to ignore that feeling, like he knows Misaki has other friends and in theory that’s okay but it’s hard for Fushimi to get out of that old mindset that Yata having other friends means Fushimi’s less important. Like maybe one day Yata stops by Scepter 4 to bring Fushimi lunch and he runs into Doumyouji, Doumyouji teases him for bringing Fushimi a bento like a lovestruck girlfriend and Yata gets all red and defensive like I’m just trying to make that idiot eat healthy that’s all and Doumyouji smiles and is like right right of course while giving him a broad wink and Yata’s just getting all indignant and embarrassed but he’s not really mad. Fushimi happens to be walking by and he sees the two of them, taking a couple steps towards them before he hears the two of them exchanging what’s turned into good-natured teasing and Fushimi finds himself just standing there gritting his teeth. He finally turns and starts walking away before he says something he’ll regret and then he hears Yata’s voice calling after him. Fushimi clicks his tongue and keeps walking as Yata runs up like hey asshole I was talking to you and oh yeah I brought you lunch. Fushimi just shrugs and says he didn’t ask Misaki to come here and Yata’s like well someone has to make sure you eat right. Fushimi glances over at him and Yata’s just looking at him with real concern and affection and finally Fushimi manages a quiet ’…thanks,’ reminding himself that even if Yata’s made friends with Doumyouji it’s still only Fushimi that he looks at with such an expression.

For less good-natured teasing, I feel like that might be more something some of the rank and file would do over the alphabet squad, I think A-C would be too mature for that and D-H would get along well with Yata now that they’re all allies. Like maybe Yata comes over to see Fushimi and some of the random members are guarding the gate and none too pleased to see a Homra member here (I’m sure not everyone was thrilled with the whole 'we are all allies now’ thing). Some of them might start taunting him, maybe even saying something hurtful about how Homra only follows Anna because their real King abandoned them and none of the other members could hold the clan together on their own, how pathetic. Yata starts getting pissed and yelling and even though he could totally kick their asses if he wanted to the Scepter 4 guys keep needling him. That’s when they hear the quietest tongue click from behind them and all of them stiffen up immediately, going pale as they see Fushimi walking over. Yata on the other hand brightens like there you are Saruhiko. Fushimi ignores him and glances at the random members, wondering what they were doing. The guys are all stuttering and terrified because Fushimi-san is glaring at them and they try to act like it was all in good fun. Fushimi gives them like his best slightly crazy smirk as he’s all oh is that so and the guys immediately apologize and run off. Yata’s just staring all what the hell was that but Fushimi just clicks his tongue again and shrugs, standing a little closer to Yata as he says not to worry about it.
