been listening to kali malone’s ‘the sacrificial code’ a lot again recently… classical minimalism (or whatever) really is such a positive way to deal with stress for me. in high school i would listen to einstein on repeat for like weeks on end lol. im realizing/remembering that the music i really most enjoyed making was classical minimalism. maybe this is a way to get back into making music.

#i kind of pivoted away from it at some point and went through a post-tonal phase #not that i dont love post-tonal music…#quaderno musicali di annalibera is like one of my favorite piano works out there #(philip glass’ piano stuff just bores me… his worst work tbh)#but i want to make more minimalism. maybe we can throw in a little fucked up tonality as a treat #need to listen to more simeon ten holt and louis andriessen and sun ra for inspo #to be clear not implying that sun ra is classical minimalist #but he does exist at the merger of jazz tonality and a comparably minimalist approach
