For most of 2024, the Pokemon TCG felt like it was losing scalpers and becoming accessible again to general collectors (aside from the popular 151 set, which still wasn’t too bad to acquire after release), but since Surging Sparks and now the infamous eeveeloution set coming out it’s starting to feel like 2020 again where everything is over hyped and expensive.

#not shy #I hope this set’s expectations to be the next Evolving Skies backfires and it becomes easy to get #but given that the eeveeloutions are basically the next best thing since charizard I doubt it #low key I hate the collectors who only care about the prices and none of the art work #poketubers going through 1000s of packs and only paying attention to the chase cards is just dreadful to watch #my biggest collection era was in XY #and man I miss how chill pre-2020 collecting was
