“It’s alright, baby,” Bratt crooned to his girlfriend. “Nothing’s gonna hurt you.”

Madi was trembling a bit as tears finally came streaming from her eyes, after how hard it had been for her to cry before she came to her boyfriend for comfort… A pitiful whimper could be heard from her throat as she snuggled up against Bratt.

“… I’m… I’m sorry,” she whined. “I know… I’m a handful… This is the third time this month…”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa—slow down, honey.” Bratt’s tone was gentle as he cupped the girl’s face. “You’re not a handful; I’ve had no problems handling you at all~ You’re just an anxious sweetie who needs extra TLC sometimes; no shame in that~”

“… But I… I come to you with baggage more often than… you with me,” Madi whimpered in response.

As much as Bratt loved his girlfriend and couldn’t have been more honest with his words, it was baffling to him how the girl could repeatedly blame herself for problems. His thumb rubbed against her cheek as he spoke in a more serious tone:

“Sweetie baby. I understand where the baggage is coming from. I was thrown out like trash after Hollywood decided I wasn’t worth anything to them anymore, but YOU… You were constantly passed around and continued to collect bruises and scratches like a toy who’s been through one too many yard sales—I can tell you’ve dealt with ‘friends’ who were careless with you. I just wanna help you clean off the smudges they left on you... Besides, you've been an understanding sweetheart about my woes with Hollywood; why would I not return the favor?~"

The girl looked up at him with big watery eyes... She seemed stunned by his compassion to the point of not having any response to meet him with. Her brow only raised more as she felt Bratt place a kiss on her forehead.

"I mean it~ You're not a handful~" he purred upon pulling away. "Okay?~"
