#tbd#I appreciate y’all letting me know when somebody posts my edits#but like PSA idc#((mostly sometimes I’ll get a lil 🤪🤪 and reply wid something snarky but it’s not serious I prommy))#my edits are edits of another photographers work#maybe I’ll add some flares or tweak lighting etc but the credit for the shot is not mine#so like by all means always try to like credit the photographers whenever u come across my edits or something#but dw about me I’m cool wid it#that’s my personal view on this ik other editors disagree which is 100% their right#but in this house like share as much as u want#actually kinda glad my tumblrs mostly self contained like I don’t need formulasenna67 coming in here fnmabcksnsj#ALSO shud go unsaid but there’s a difference between just editing a shot#and composing a whole edit or making a webweave

heyy i love your editing style and your edits make me want to get back into making things but i have some questions …
so the last fandoms i was actively creating stuff were anime/manga where the lines between primary material are more clear cut than in f1 and basically my question is what are the sources for materials to edit (besides official teams photos/videos) and what is the etiquette about using and crediting photos from photographers or other sources??
thank you in advance💜💖
(idk why this sounds like an email, i’m tempted to add sent from my iphone for the giggles)
HIIIIIIIIIII omfg sho professional wait lemme actually focus for this like u cud not have asked a less serious tumblr. First of all umm thank uu🥲🌷.
Sources in terms of photos u have: getty images ((u can edit out the watermarks yourself or use this d0wnloader its pretty good quality usually)) alamy photos, motorsportimages .com is a personal fav because u just screenshot the mfs lmfao, flickr. Google images is good if u ever find a cool p1c on Pinterest or something u can reverse image search to find the source. Sometimes u can even find the photographers' own websites and they always post good quality there. ((For example, schlegelmilch's website even tho its all mostly oldies.))
Ur second question its like, I think if its transformative work u dont have to credit in the post, but if its straight up just the p1cs wid only some minimum color grading and cropping imo u should always put at least the name of who took the shot. Tumblr is very very niche bro nobody serious is here so people just repost photographers stuff all the time. If ur worried about whether or not u can use the material dw just do it if u want to share this is not a community thats all that concerned wid copyright laws😭. I always try to credit the og photographer at least. 💓
