Though i lowkey also don't vibe much with d/c because i care about sam too much I don't think it's entirely about sam?? Cuz thinking of it, i can soooo read deanbenny or deanjo without sam eveb being mentioned. Like i love deanbenny so much even tho i dont say it often and i can completely stop thinking about sam so i think it's less about sam not being involved and more about what the shippers do to sam? Turning him into their cheerleader or some homophobic asshole *done with the gay shit*, because unlike deanbenny that really has its own weight and meaning even completely independent of samdean in canon, dc shippers cannot ship it without diminishing sam's role both in canon story and dean's life somehow. I don't know if this makes any sense or not.
