When He’s Not Here
Pairing: Bakugou x reader (x Kirishima)
Warnings: Cursing, implied severe nightmare(s), mentioned character death (just kinda talking about it, nothing actually happened, dw), soft Bakugou (like, really soft)
A/N: I will take this as an opportunity to welcome myself back into writing (although I never really stopped; I just wanted to work on a few personal projects that were just for me :]). Um, I don’t have much to say about this other than I actually like it! I think it turned out pretty well, so props to me 🎉.
This is technically a Kiribaku x reader, buuut TWIST, Kirishima isn’t really in this one. Mostly just y/n and Bakugou interaction. Yeah, fun.
I promise this is fluff. It’s a little angsty, but not to any extreme. Just nightmare comfort and snuggles with Blasty.
Anyway, enjoy!

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You bolted upright, chest heaving, disoriented.
Everything around you was uncomfortably hot—unbearable. A sheen of sweat coated your skin, and the sheets beneath you were damp. Your heart pounded in your chest, making it hard to think, hard to breathe. Darkness pressed around you, only making it easier to see your visions again, playing over and over in your memory.
Desperate, your hands patted blindly around you, looking for something that would make it stop, something to help you feel better.
Your trembling fingers bumped into a warm, solid mound beside you and you latched onto it, hoping to find solace in this sea of fear and nothingness.
“Eijirou?” you gasped, already somehow feeling more grounded as you shook the man’s arm.
“Hm?” Rather than who you’d been expecting, a familiar rough voice emerged from the dark mass beside you.
“Katsuki?” you called out instead.
“What?” He rolled onto his back, dragging a hand over his face. “(Y/N)? What time is—”
You suddenly tackled him into a hug, burying your nose into his shoulder. “You’re alive! Thank goodness you’re okay!” You could sob with how happy you were to find that your nightmare had been little more than just a dream, that Bakugou and Kirishima weren’t dead, and that you were still safe.
“Why wouldn’t I be okay?” he asked gruffly. “And what’s got you shaking so hard? Was it another—”
“Bad dream,” you affirmed, pulling off of him and straightening. “Just a . . . dream.”
“Oh,” he muttered, sitting up.
“Sorry I woke you up. I was trying for—”
“Eijirou?”
You nodded sheepishly. “Not that I don’t want to talk to you, I just . . . forgot he wasn’t here.”
“Oh.”
Now it was coming back to you. Kirishima was away on a mission on the other side of the country. This was yours and Bakugou’s second night without him, but it still felt so foreign to have him missing from your bed. The sheets felt . . . colder and emptier with him gone. Yes, the redhead had a habit of spreading out in his sleep and snoring much louder than necessary, but both you and Katsuki (though he wouldn’t admit it out loud) had grown quite fond of his presence.
“Need anything?” the blond grunted, bringing you out of your thoughts.
“Um,” you mumbled, thinking. “Maybe some water?”
Bakugou stood without another word, sliding silently out of the bedroom and down to the kitchen. Flicking on the light, he grabbed a glass out of the cabinet.
For as long as you’d been sharing a bed, Bakugou had been aware of your recurrent nightmares. He’d always been a light sleeper, so it was unavoidable that your muffled whimpers and kicking would wake him up. He was there for you when you needed him, yes, but . . . it didn’t take long for Katsuki to realize that Eijirou was just better with this sort of thing.
Bakugou didn’t know much about emotions, or comfort for that matter. He tended to just blast his way through things and hope others did the same. He had more important things to worry about than “feelings”. But he’d be a damn fool to overlook how powerful they could be, especially when it came to you and Eijirou. Hell, even the weight of his own feelings for the two of you shook his world from time to time.
But it just wasn’t something he was good at, and it frustrated him. He had to be the best. The best of the best, especially for someone like you. You were his partner, and he’d vowed to himself to be the best boyfriend to you no matter what. Maybe he was being a coward. Shouldn’t he work on the things he wasn’t good at? Even when they didn’t come easy?
He had to at least try.
Bakugou came back into the bedroom with a fresh glass of water in his hand. You took it from him gratefully, letting the cool liquid clear your mind as it slid down your throat.
“Better?” he asked, his voice low.
“Yes. Thank you.” You set the glass on the nightstand beside you, curling back into yourself.
The blond racked his mind. What did Kirishima do? Usually as soon as the redhead was awake and cooing over you, Katsuki would try to fall back asleep. He knew you were safe with him, so what was the point in doing anything more? Besides, Bakugou’s sleep schedule wasn’t something to be messed with. But now Eijirou was gone, and you needed someone to be there for you. You were more important to Katsuki than sleep. And you were still shaking.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Bakugou finally managed.
You thought for a moment before shaking your head. “It was just a dream. I don’t want to think about it more than I need to.”
“Oh.”
Bakugou sat on the bed in silence. Now what? If you weren’t going to talk, how was he supposed to know what to do?
“What does Kirishima do? When this happens.”
You glanced at the rumpled blankets underneath you, suddenly—for seemingly no reason—shy. “He usually holds me.”
Of course he did. That was your combined solution to everything. Figures.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” you threw out quickly. “I know you’re not really in a cuddly mood right now—”
Bakugou gathered you up in his arms and shoved your body into his chest. You gasped at the abrupt motion but were just as quick to relax against him, suddenly feeling secure in his strong hold. His body was a little different from Kirishima’s; still thoroughly well-muscled, but otherwise smaller and leaner. You breathed in his scent—also different, but still so heavenly familiar and sweet.
“What gave you that idea?” he asked, his chin resting gently on the top of your head.
“You, um, were facing away from me when we went to bed.”
“Tch, dumbass.” He shifted you into a more comfortable position on his lap, kissing your scalp. “Now what?” he mumbled into your hair.
“He . . . talks to me.”
“What does he say?”
“I don’t know,” you whispered. “He reassures me, I guess.”
Bakugou frowned. “How am I supposed to do that if I don’t know what your shitty nightmare was about anyway?”
He felt you stiffen in his hold, and he knew he’d messed up.
“Look,” he muttered. “I know this really isn’t my thing, but please. I’m just trying to help you.”
“Thanks,” you mumbled in a small voice.
Silence.
Bakugou didn’t mind silence. In fact, he generally preferred it. It gave him peace to think to himself, and he hated it when there was something annoying and distracting buzzing around him, especially when it was some dumb, unimportant person.
But you weren’t dumb, or unimportant to him, and this time, he felt truly uncomfortable in the quiet dark. Why weren’t you saying anything? You weren’t exactly the type to never stop talking—you could be pretty quiet yourself, actually—but even you had a tendency to fill the void with something.
If you weren’t going to do it, he might as well just get it over with.
“You said something about me being alive when you woke up, yeah?” he asked you. “Scared of me dying?”
You paused, then nodded, tightly clutching the front of his tank top.
“Nothing can kill me,” he said, trying to approach with his cocky attitude.
“. . . you know that isn’t true,” you murmured.
He scowled. “Are you doubting me or something?”
“No. You’re just . . . no one’s invincible, Katsuki. Not even you.”
Bakugou huffed. This wasn’t going the way he’d hoped. How did Eijirou do this so often? Why had Bakugou never paid enough attention? Now he was starting to feel guilty. Had he been slacking off with you?
“I think you’re amazing, ‘Tsuki,” you went on. “But I’m scared of losing you. Both of you.”
He sighed. “Now why are you worrying about that?”
“I don’t know . . . .” You shrugged. “I guess that the simple answer is because I love you. Of course I worry about something happening. I don’t—I don’t know what I’d do if one of you got hurt, or—or worse.” You bit the inside of your cheek, fighting to keep yourself from crying.
“Hey,” Bakugou said softly.
You nuzzled yourself closer into his chest, sniffling a little and taking a deep breath.
“You know you’re strong, right?” he muttered, brushing his thumb over your shoulder. “I see it in you. I have for years. I trust that you can handle anything. You’ve been through a lot.”
It was your turn to sigh. “But I don’t want to go through something like that.”
“You think anyone does?”
“Well, no. Of course not.”
“Listen. You’re talking about two of the best pro heroes there are, okay? We’ve all got each other and we can take care of ourselves, got that? Worrying about us isn’t gonna do you any favors.”
“I can’t just ‘stop worrying’,” you countered.
“Okay, but don’t put so much into it. We’re here with you now, dumbass. Enjoy it while you can.”
“. . . Eijirou’s not here.”
Bakugou paused, thinking. “‘That what all this is about?” he asked quietly.
“I don’t know. Probably.”
“I’m sure he’s safe.” Katsuki rocked you ever so slightly in his arms, settling back into the quiet night.
“Do you miss him?” you asked.
“. . . ‘course I do.”
You smirked. “Aww.”
“Hey!” he protested. “I . . . I’m not scared to say that I love him. Or you for that matter.”
“I know.” You leaned up, touching the tip of your nose to his.
He blinked in surprise at the gesture, but then smiled softly and rested his forehead against yours.
“This is weird to say,” you began after a moment, “but I can’t really sleep without him snoring in my ear like a lawnmower.”
Katsuki barked out a laugh. “Are you kidding? This is the most peaceful night’s sleep I’ve gotten since we moved in together.”
You giggled. “Okay. But don’t you miss his good-night kisses?”
“Tch,” Bakugou grumbled. “Of course not. He’s so clingy and annoying.”
“Oh? That’s not how I remember it,” you laughed. “You love it when he gets like that.”
The blond scowled in the dark. “Alright, maybe it’s not so bad.”
You hummed, resting your head on his shoulder again. “I love you both, you know,” you said. “I can’t wait until things can go back to normal.”
“Shitty hair’ll be home soon,” Bakugou assured you. He chuckled to himself. “Until then, do you want me to snore in your ear for you? How about that? Something like this?” He obnoxiously made a loud, fake snoring noise in the back of his throat, making it sound as gross as possible.
You cracked up laughing, holding him closer to you while your shoulders shook. “Eijirou does not sound like that!”
“Oh, yes, he does,” Bakugou argued playfully. “Believe me, I sleep next to him too. And for whatever reason, you like it.”
You laughed again, and Katsuki’s cheeks warmed at the sweet sound of your mirth. “It’s just too quiet without him! I’m not used to it.”
“Well how about hogging all the blankets, then? And stealing the whole bed? Would that make you feel better?” Bakugou turned your bodies so he could flop on top of you, starfishing his limbs so you couldn’t get up.
“Actually, you do do that,” you teased. “You sprawl out on the bed all the time.”
He pouted. “Do not.”
“Do too.”
“Well how about kisses then? I’m the best kisser there is, and I’ve got two partners that’ll attest to that,” he boasted proudly.
“Ooh, two partners, huh?”
“Yeah, and you’re one of them. Here, I’ll prove it.”
Before you could say anything in response, Bakugou’s lips found yours, kissing you deeply and taking your breath away. Your hand slid up to cup his cheek, holding him in place as he embraced you. His lips were so soft and sweet—he always wore chapstick before he went to bed. You couldn’t help but sigh happily as his mouth moved over yours; gentle, but still with the slightest hint of roughness to it he always carried no matter what.
Eventually he pulled back, letting you breathe.
“I do like having just the two of us here,” you admitted quietly, brushing some of his spiky bangs back from his forehead. “It’s . . . different.”
You couldn’t really see it in the dark, but he smiled. “I like it too.” He leaned in and kissed your lips once more. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” You stroked his cheek with the side of your thumb. “But maybe we shouldn’t be teasing our boyfriend while he isn’t here to defend himself.”
Bakugou snorted. “Eijirou doesn’t care. Besides, it’s all true.”
You chuckled, running your fingers through his hair and scratching at his scalp. “Thanks for making me feel better.”
Oh, that’s right, he was supposed to have been comforting you. He guessed that somehow, he’d done it. His chest swelled with pride. “Sure thing. Are you feeling alright now?”
“Yeah,” you said. “That dream was stupid anyway. It didn’t make any sense.”
“Of course it didn’t.” Katsuki pulled you into his arms again, rolling you both onto your sides so he could face you. “Shitty fucking dream. It’s not real, and it can’t hurt you. I’m here for you, got that? That’s what matters. Nothing’s going to take me away, and I mean it.” He kissed your forehead, pulling the blankets up around your shoulders again. “I fight and win for you, you know. I win for both of you. You two never leave my mind. I’m not stupid and reckless, okay? I’m careful enough so that I don’t get hurt like that.”
“I know.” You rested your head against his chest, sighing in contentment at the feeling of being held by him. It was warm and calming, comfortable and familiar. There wasn’t anywhere else you’d rather be.
“Ready to go back to sleep?” he asked you, rubbing your back.
“Yeah,” you murmured, shutting your eyes.
He hummed. “Good. I’ll see you in the morning, (Y/N).”
“Good night, Katsuki.”
Soon, the two of you drifted off to sleep, and until you awoke again at dawn, you were at peace.
…
“I’m home!” a voice called out by the doorway.
You jumped up from the couch, making a beeline towards the entrance of your house. “Eijirou!” you greeted happily, running up to him for a hug.
“Hey! It’s my darling, wonderful (Y/N)!” he laughed, dropping his bags and hoisting you up in his arms.
“It’s my big, strong manly man!” you countered, laughing.
He brought his face to yours, humming happily as he kissed you several times in quick succession.
“The two of you are going to make me puke.”
Eijirou let you go, setting you back down on the floor to look up at his boyfriend, who’d stepped in to greet Kirishima for himself.
“Katsuki!” he said happily, unfazed. He held out his arms, making grabby motions with his hands toward the blond.
Bakugou rolled his eyes, walking up to the redhead despite his annoyed façade. Eijirou hugged him tight, pressing a long, solid kiss to his lips.
“Group hug!” he said, pulling you in again for another hug, this time with Bakugou in the mix. “I missed you guys.”
“How was your trip?” you asked him.
“Great!” Kirishima said. “I’ll tell you everything about it as soon as I get something to eat, I’m starving.”
“I made dinner for everyone,” Bakugou said.
“So that’s why it smells amazing!” Kirishima kissed Bakugou on the cheek in thanks, then gave you another to be fair. “Let’s go then,” he said, stepping forward. “Although, I guess I should ask; did I miss anything while I was gone?”

apologies ~ bakugou katsuki
request: hello! I was wondering if you could do a Bakugou x Reader (if requests are open ofc❤️). Maybe Bakugou said something he didn’t mean to the Reader, and she like leaves the middle of class to go to the bathroom to cry- and like some of the girls go to comfort her/ask if she’s doing fine. But that doesn’t help- so Bakugou ditches class and goes to comfort her in the girls bathroom, and the other girls are like “cUtE”. Sorry if this made no sense but I thought it would be cute 😳. love your writing!
a/n: Thank you! And of course! This is a really cute idea and I may have went overboard with it haha but I hope you like it! It kind of turned into a first ‘I love you’ scenario too...
∫ pairing: bakugou x fem!reader
∫ warnings: cussing, (too much?) fluff, slight angst in the beginning
∫ word count: 1.7k+
Being with Bakugou had its ups and downs. Most of the time he was kind to you in his own way; pressing a chaste kiss to your head before class in the morning as he walked by your desk or shoving a drink in your hand when he sat with you at lunch.
Occasionally he would say things that others would see as mean to say, especially involving you and your fighting. Nothing bad necessarily, just criticizing your form. You knew he meant well with his slightly harsh remarks but sometimes he would say or do something that would hit you deep. Even if you knew what he said wasn’t intended to be offensive, it still could affect you. This has only happened once in your relationship so far, and today was that day, unfortunately.
You were sitting in the classroom, waiting for the next class to start. Today had been pretty bad so far. There wasn’t much reason for why you felt so upset but you guessed it was all of the all nighters you’ve been pulling to finish a project that you didn’t even want to do to begin with. The other people who were supposed to help you ditched so you were stuck with doing all of the work. Figures.
The stress had been weighing on you for a while, causing you to be pushed to a limit you didn’t know you had.
Of course, this was also a day when Bakugou wasn’t feeling too nifty either. I mean, he normally didn’t look like he was happy but today he was even grumpier than normal. When you went to greet him, he only grunted in response, which in hindsight you should have picked up on right away that he didn’t want to be bothered. Due to your inability to pay attention when you’re stressed, however, it slipped your attention.
It only got worse as the day progressed. You would try to ask him something and he would still only grunt at you, not bothering to look up from what he was doing. This was causing you to become a little more upset than you already were. Was he mad at you? Did you do something wrong? Did something happen that he wasn’t telling you?
All of the negative thoughts were causing your head to spin so you decided to do the only rational thing (at least it seemed rational at the time) and confront him about it.
The bell had just wrung to signal class switch. You had around five minutes to ask Bakugou what was wrong.
You slowly approached his desk, taking a deep breath to steel your nerves.
“Katsuki...”
“...” No response.
“Is something wrong?”
“...”
Biting your lip, you toy with your uniform slightly, trying to push down the tears that are starting to form in your eyes.
“Did I say something yesterday to make you mad?”
“...”
“I’m sorry but please, talk to me!”
He finally snapped; his voice sharp.
“SHUT UP! Holy shit you’re annoying sometimes...”
It felt like a weight fell on your shoulders, causing them to sag slightly as the tears you were holding back began to fall. His words finally pushed you to your limit.
“Oh...okay...”, you cough slightly to cover up a soft sob, “I-I’ll just go then.”
And with that, you ran out of the classroom, avoiding the calls of your worried classmates. You ran until you reached the bathroom at the end of the hallway a couple halls down. After running inside, you slammed the stall door shut, collapsing in the tiny space, finally breaking down into sobs.
Mina turned to Bakugou, glaring at him.
“Bakugou what the hell man?”
She, along with the other girls of the class, ran out to follow you.
Bakugou slammed his palm on the desk, before sighing heavily, dragging his hand through his hair. He could feel the glares of some of his classmates burning through his back.
“Fuck.”
A couple of minutes later Jiro came through the door, worry displayed on her face. Her expression caused the others to tense slightly. Kirishima was the first to speak up.
“Is she alright? Where is she?”
“She’s in the bathroom. She won’t answer us. I can tell she’s crying though.”
Bakugou’s heart drops into his stomach when he hears that, his face faltering slightly. Jiro turns to him, giving him a pointed look.
“Bakugou, I think it would be best if you talked to her instead. You know she’s been having a hard week, right?”
Of course, he had noticed you were stressed but you tend to clam up so as to not bother him when you feel this way. Usually you come around and tell him what wrong but you didn’t this time. He felt stupid for not trying to talk to you sooner.
“I knew it had been shitty but not this shitty.”
“Well, right now she needs some comfort and you need to apologize.”
He was already going out of the door before she could finish her sentence.
“I know.”
The bell wrung as soon as Bakugou located where the other girls were at. They all turned to face him with varying expressions. None of them were happy, though they all looked a little relieved that he showed up.
Not saying a word, he brushed past them but paused when he heard Momo speak.
“Don’t hurt her again.”
He replied instantly, his voice firm.
“I won’t.”
And with that, he let the door close behind him.
It was silent for a couple of seconds until Bakugou heard a soft sob.
“Y/N?”
You fell silent, not wanting him to see or hear you when you were an absolute mess.
“Leave me alone.”
His heart cracked a little hearing the tears in your voice.
“I’ll leave you alone if you listen.”
“...”
“I-”
He sighed heavily. You could tell he was trying to figure out what to say.
“Fuck. I’m sorry.”
When you didn’t speak, he continued.
“I’m sorry for saying what I did. You’re not annoying. You never are. I was just frustrated about some shitty stuff that happened this morning and it had been bothering me to the point that it made me angry. I didn’t want to upset you which is why I wasn’t respondi-”
“You’ll miss class.”
He stared incredulously at the stall door that you were in. You really thought that was important at the moment?
“You think I care about some shitty class when you, the girl I love, are crying in the fucking bathroom because of me? Are you kidding? You’re more important to me than that.”
His words made you tear up more but this time for a different reason. Slowly opening up the stall you look at him with eyes wide with surprise.
“You love me?”
Not moving, he stared back at you, defiant.
“Yes, I love you. I know this isn’t the best way to say it,” he gestured with his hand at the fact that you were in a bathroom, “but you need to hear it. I want you to hear it. It doesn’t take back what I said, and that’s not what I’m trying to do but I mean it. I love you so fucking much it scares me sometimes. I thought the only thing I would ever care about is becoming the best pro-hero but then you walked through the door the first day of class.”
He paused, closing his eyes and taking a breath to try to reign in his emotions a little. You just stood watching him, eyes still wide.
Opening his eyes, he continued.
“I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight because that would be a damn lie. But every day a little more of me seemed to become attracted to you until one day I realized that you were just as important to me as becoming a pro-hero. It scared me, feeling like this. When you ran out today, after I realized what I had said, I knew that I couldn’t avoid this anymore. I was scared that I was going to lose you. I still am. All because I can’t keep my shitty mouth shut.”
His face was blushing slightly as he looked off to the side to avoid your gaze.
“Katsu...”
Not even a second later a weight hit him.
“Wha-”
Your arms encircled his waist as you buried your face in his chest. Once he realized you were hugging him, he relaxed slightly, wrapping his arms around you as well.
It was silent for a second before you mumbled against him.
“I’m sorry for being overdramatic.”
He scoffed.
“Don’t apologize, you aren’t being dramatic. I’m the only one who needs to apologize. I should have been a better boyfriend and talked with you instead of fucking snapping your head off.”
Pulling away from him slightly you gave him a soft smile.
“Let’s work harder to talk about our problems then, yeah?”
Chuckling, he ruffled your hair before pulling away completely.
“Yeah.”
After a couple of seconds of looking at each other you had a realization.
“Wait a minute...You followed me into the girls’ bathroom?!”
He deadpanned.
“Really? Again, you think I care?”
“Well no but...won’t you get in trouble?”
“We’re both going to get in trouble for being late to class so I don’t think it matters much.”
You nodded at his reasoning, ignoring his amused stare.
“I guess we should get back to class then. Everyone’s probably worried...”
“Tch.”
You walked to the bathroom door, opening it as you talked to Bakugou, who was close beside you.
“I wonder if they-” you paused, seeing that most of the girls were still outside of the bathroom, “uhhh guys? Why are you not in class?”
Uraraka smiled sheepishly while Mina eyed you both with a smirk on her face.
“We wanted to make sure you were alright...”
“Mic said he wouldn’t start until you guys were back. Jiro explained what was happening. We’ll probably get detention though.” Mina grinned. “It was so worth it.”
“EH?! What are you talking about raccoon eyes?”
“You guys are cute. You know that?”
“Shut it!”
Mina snorted before turning around waving slightly.
“Let’s go!”
The others followed while you hung back with Bakugou. He was grumbling under his breath about what Mina had said, causing you to grin slightly.
“Katsuki?”
He looked at you, raising an eyebrow in question. Reaching out, you took his hand into yours before you leaned up to press a soft peck to his cheek.
“I love you too.”
Letting go, you jogged to catch up with the girls who were walking into the classroom, leaving a very flustered and speechless angry boy behind.

Three Heroes: Various!BNHA x Reader (Part 6)
This is a Todoroki x Bakugo x Reader x Midoriya fanfic, inspired by the My Hero Academia movie: Two Heroes, the storyline will be adjusted due to the readers presence. Read on and I hope you enjoy!
Warning(s): Blood, Violence, Fluff, Swearing, Poly!Relationship, and mature content, etc.
--
You looked up as Izuku delivered a full cowling smash into the side wall, cement debris flying away from the wall and dropping down with heavy thuds. You glanced back at Todoroki and Bakugo, they could handle it from here, you knew that, the robots were decreasing in numbers but they were still coming. Once you and Izuku could find the security system and after Melissa fixed the settings, you could all reunite again at the top floor, once everyone was free. But, right now, you had to help Izuku, you didn't know what it was, but you had a bad feeling.
You turned your head towards your two boyfriends, watching as Katsuki landed an explosive punch and Shouto used his ice to create a platform for Kirishima to land on before springing down to deliver a blow. You smiled as they all worked together, making eye contact with Shouto as you turned towards the far wall, you knew you could make it if you positioned yourself correctly. "(Y/n)," he started, putting a hand out as you began to charge up your feet. Your hands meeting the ground to absorb the power of the wind generator, your veins pulsing with a gold energy as it ran through to your heart.
"Don't even think about it!" Katsuki yelled at you.
You smirked, turning towards them. "I never do." You said before your energy hits the ground and you're sent bursting into the air. You're soaring through the air for a few seconds, the winds high and blowing your hair back as you grit your teeth before looking up where Izuku had torn a hole through the wall. You could hear a fight going on, the sound of metal to metal, you gasped before you suddenly felt yourself slowing down. You brought your feet in front of you to meet the wall before pushing with all your might and flipping backwards. You were sent through the air before your feet once air gain met the opposite wall a few meters away from the wall that Izuku broke through. Your eye's widened as the man slashed his quirk at Izuku's gauntlet forcing him to back up and fall of the ledge. You gasped before you growled angrily, your energy multiplying to pulse as your feet before you shoved yourself forwards, the force left a large, violent crater on the side wall of the opposite tower. Behind you the tower leaned backwards from the impact as you lunged forwards and before the villain could even react, as he made eye contact with you, you let out a battle cry as your fist connected with the side of his face. He gurgled back a grunt as you made contact and blasted him backwards, his body spinning from the force and hitting the solid steps, breaking them apart.
Below, Shouto and Katsuki stood next to each other staring upwards where you landed, helping Deku back into the tower, having fallen out. They both were gaping slightly at your use of power and flawless thinking, "Damn..." Katsuki muttered in awe, Shouto could only nod in agreement. They both couldn't deny that that was probably the hottest thing they've ever seen.
Above, you fell backwards, Izuku cradling your body as he captured you in a sudden embrace, "I'm so glad you're ok!" He cried, his arm's tight around you as he breathed heavily into your neck. You held him close, leaning into him as you wrapped your arm's around his neck, "I-i thought...and I couldn't..." he gasped in for breath, tears slowly streaming down his face as his pained thinking got to him. Your right hand buries itself into his head of curls as you lean back to kiss his wet cheeks, sweetly, he closes his eye's sobbing quietly.
"You're so brave today, Izuku. You couldn't be more of a Hero today, me and dad, we're proud of you," you took his face in your hands, caressing his cheeks, wiping his tears with your thumbs. He looks at you, unable to believe what he was hearing from you as tears unwillingly slip past his eye's. "I would never blame you and besides, I'm not so easy to take down. Don't you forget that," you smiled at him before leaning forwards and kissing him fully, he pulled you close, hugging you close once more as he leaned into you.
As you both pulled away, your foreheads touched and you both stood together, hands interlocked, "Let's end this," Izuku finally said, turning to Melissa, who stood at the side, happy to see you were alright.
"Right!"
You all raced up the stairs, jumping over the passed out villain in the debris, once you were a flight of stairs away from the 200th floor Izuku quickly raced forwards. You stuck an arm out, hiding Melissa from the bullets that quickly shot out towards Izuku, you bit your lip until the gun ceased and a villain was sent rolling down the stairs, passed out. You and Melissa came around the corner and smiled before running up the steps to meet him before running down the hallway.
"Melissa," Izuku whispered as you all ran forwards. "Where's the control room located?"
"In front of the central elevator."
As you all rounded the corner, you peeked forwards, Izuku leaning over you, "Someone's in there," you said, surprised to see someone working.
Melissa and Izuku gasped before Melissa recognized who it was. "Papa! But, what is he doing on the 200th floor?"
Izuku's eyes narrowed. "Whoa it is! Maybe the villains forced him here, they may need something from him." He suggested. Your chest tightened, it made sense, Uncle David was a partner of All Might's after all and a top researcher for the hero community. But, what could the villains want?
"We have to help him!" Melissa urged Izuku and you.
You glanced behind you, where the security system lay beyond another door, a ways down the hallway to the left. Should you free everyone first? "Right," Izuku agreed before you turned towards them and followed as they both began to slowly sneak towards the open door.
You all paused, however, as David let out a sigh of relief, turning towards his assistant, Sam beside him. "I've unlocked it! Block 1147!" He announced, Sam quickly sprang up, abandoning his typing and running up the steps to the thousands of blocks of scientific equipment around the room. Who knows what kind of things were locked up in there...
"Wonderful!" Sam praises. He sounded oddly happy to be forced to work with villains, the older, pudgy man climbs the steps towards the moving wall of locked down equipment, "It's opening!" A part of the wall opened to reveal a metal briefcase, it must've been heavy because the man struggled somewhat as he pulled it out. Then, he held it to his chest before opening, smiling widely st the contents. "You did it professor!" You were confused to see David producing a relieved smile. "Look it's all here! Perfect!"
"Finally," you turned to Uncle David, your mind running a mile a minute, what's going on? "I've gotten it back. All my research, and they just took my device away from me," his fists clenched as his voice echoed through the large lab. "But, now it's mine."
Then, Sam said four simple, mind-shattering words, "Just like we planned," you could collapse to your knees right there, how could this be? Your father's closest friend..."And it looks like the villains are holding things down!" God...it was getting worse.
David ran up towards the steps, "Thank you," he climbed the stairs to his friend, to his life's work, "I couldn't have done any of this without your help, Sam!"
"Papa..."
David froze, turning quickly at the sound of his daughters voice.
Melissa stepped into the room, you and Izuku behind her. "Melissa?" David gasped, shocked to see her. "No..."
Sam spoke up, "Miss, what are you doing up here?"
Melissa began to walk forwards, her heart in agony and her mind in shambles. "What does he mean, 'it's like you planned it'?" David is silent, too horrified at being caught by his own daughter no less, "Don't tell me that...you're the one behind all this," she continued, still walking. Her voice broken. "This was all you? Just to steal something?" David's only shocked into silencd, his eyes wide and saddened. "No! It can't be true!"
David looks down, his eyes shutting for a moment before he looks up trying to stay composed. "Yes. It is."
Melissa and you gasp, sharply. "Papa...how could you?!"
Sam spoke up, defending the professor. "He is only trying to get back what was stolen from him. In this case, there's an invention, he has developed a way to amplify a person's quirk without damaging their brain or their body."
Izuku's eye's widened. "Is that even possible."
Sam nodded. "Yes." He proceeded. "It's still being tested of course. But, before we could perfect it, they confiscated our prototype and our research deeming it to drastically effect the superhuman society, forcing us to abandon the project." He looked down. "Governments and different structures put pressure on your father father to end it, that's why we did this!"
"I don't understand!" Melissa gasped. "There's something I'm missing right?" She cried. "The Papa I know wouldn't even dream about doing something like this!" She sobbed. "Why would you do this? Why?!"
David looked away, pained. "I had to do this...for All Might!"
Your eye's widened, horror filling you. David turned towards you, his eyes filled with remorse, "(y/n) you have to understand. Your father's power power is fading him, you've noticed and at this rate, you know it better than I do, the symbol of peace is falling." You looked down, your eye's filling with tears at the reminder. "But, if he uses the device, he'll be back to his old self! No, he'll be stronger than before. The symbol of peace...can get his strength and life back again!" You clutched your heart as he continued, your tears streaming down your face. You knew it was true, your father was fading before your eyes but you couldn't let him do this, not like this. You wanted...more than anything to save your father from this fate, but you knew that the power of One for All belonged to Izuku now and you nor your father would change that decision. "He can keep saving people! Just like he always has!" You just realized Izuku's hands around your waist as he pulled you to him, unknowingly guiltily him further as he recalled David never knowing that All might had passed on his power to him.
"Please, please!" David begged as he took the case from Sam, "Just let me hand this over to All Might! I don't care what punishment I have to endure! There's no time to remake it!"
"They risked their lives!" Melissa sobbed, her head down until it rises with tears shed. "(Y/n), Deku and their classmates! They went through so much! Do you even know how danger this was?!" She pointed towards you, her eyes shut tightly. "(Y/n) almost died to save you, to save everyone. We all could've been killed! Do you have any idea how hard we were trying to save everyone on the island?!"
David looks from his daughter and to you, noticing the dark splotches on your neck and the blood that had seeped through the bandage on your arm. "N-no. I don't....the villains, but...they're supposed to be fake," David turns towards Sam, confused and horrified at the discovery. "It's all supposed to be an act!"
"Of course it was a performance!" You jumped along with everyone else as the voice echoed behind you. You recognized the man behind the metal mask, his dark smirk prominent under his cruel covering. Red, wild hair and a gun in his hand, he smirked at all our faces, "The real act was acting like we weren't criminals!" The leader revealed.
"You're the boss!" Izuku seethed, his power rising to manifest itself around his body. You began to do the same, bringing up your open palms as you charged up.
However, instead of directing a finger towards you both, the leader smirked as he pressed his fingertips against the metal doorway. His energy running through the ground to manipulate a broken railing pipe a few feet away, it quickly wrapped itself around Izuku and tossed him backwards. You reached to grab him before he was thrown away from you, missing his hand by inches, "Zuku!" You cried before he was forced into the side of the wall, nailed down, him out and body covered by the metal surrounding him.
"Oh no! Deku!" Melissa ran towards him.
You turned with bloodshot eyes towards the villain. "Why you!" You surged forwards.
"(Y/n), don't!" David warned, but it was too late.
You heard a muffled scream from Izuku.
Metal pipes and wires pulled themselves from the ground, taking your arm's and legs into their grip, you were mere inches from the leaders face as it out led back your clenched fist. Your power slowly flickering out of existence as you out led against the metal restraining you and holding you up a few inches off the ground. "Bastard," you cursed in his face.
He chuckled at you, his eyes wide and pleased. "I've been looking forward to meeting you, little might, since you slipped away from me during the reception I wasn't able to properly introduce myself," he takes your chin in his hand, smirking evil as he does so. "Wolfram, doll," he says, chuckling as you growl at him. "Now, now, we've only just begun don't get so upset already. I haven't even started."
He then walks past you as his metal bends to pull you around, you groan as it tightens around your limbs. "You'll be smart not to resist," he says to you and Izuku. Then, he turns towards David and Sam, "Sam, hand it over," he reaches a hand out, you look up confused before your eyes go wide as Sam does just that. Snatching the case from David, obediently.
"Right! Here ya go!" He rushes down the stairs towards Wolfram.
David looks down at his assistant in disgust and horror. "Sam...this was your plan? You were going to hand it over all along?!"
The older man stiffens, holding the case tightly. "You're r he in who tricked me, professor!" He started, "They took our research! I've been your assistant for years and you just let them take it!" He frowned. "We could've had fame and fortune! Bu, no!" He turned towards David, hurt. "I deserve more! I need to be rewarded! Or my entire career was a waste of time!"
He steps forward with the case, you pull against your restraints. "No! Sam, why would you--gyah! Let me go!" You twisted and turned, the metal biting into your wrists and ankles but you persisted.
Instead, Wolfram smirks, pointing the gun upwards, towards Sam, "Here's the payment I promised you." He fires, you freeze up as Sam drops, holding his shoulder that's now soaked with blood.
"Sam!" Melissa gasped.
Sam groan's on the floor, whimpering in fear. "What're you doing? Their wasn't apart of the plan!"
Wolfram chuckles. "Really? Because it was always apart of mine!" He smirks bringing up his gun, again.
You pulls at your restraints, your hands moving forwards despite the metal cutting into your skin, your palm charging. "STOP IT!" You scream as he pulls the trigger, just as your blast leaves your palm, hitting him across his shoulder, just as the bullet clips the professor, who ran to take the bullet instead, through the side of his shoulder.
Wolfram is at your throat in a second, at least one of his pipes are wrapping it around your neck. You grimace at the feeling once more, "You're starting to piss me off princess," he seethed almost half heartedly, he clenched his fist and the metal bind follows, you sputter painfully. "Don't piss me off so soon," he growls.
David had dropped to his knees, Melissa quickly running over to him, "Papa!"
"Melissa, no!" David warned, but she wouldn't listen as Wolfram hit her across the face with the back of his hand. She hit the ground, her hair tie snapping and her eyes closing as her head falls to the ground. At that, you and Izuku are both struggling even harder against your restraints, your energy flickering and sparking against the metal, same with Izuku.
Wolfram steps on the professors back, harshly, you glared and your fists clenched, "Here you are now, professor. A villain, just like the rest of us, planning and committing a crime that will end your career as a scientist forever! You're just like the rest of us!" He buried salt into the wound. "You can no longer remain a respected scientist. Or continue your research without shame. Your life is now forever tainted by the darkness of villainy." He laughed as you grit your teeth and pull your body, agonizingly from the restraints. "If you want to have have a future at all. You'll mass produce this device, so I can sell it!" With the butt of his gun, he knocked the professor out and lifted him up by his collar. "Take him to the chopper." He ordered the villain currently waiting behind you.
"Please, no," your eye's flickered to Melissa, who was on the ground, crying silently. "Give him back!" She begged.
That's when Wolfram did something despicable, pulling his gun upwards and pointing it as Melissa, "That reminds me. Get rid of his attachment, of course!" That was enough to fuel you on, you could see Izuku already breaking through his restraints and flying forwards. As you ripped through the metal binds, you threw your charged fist forwards to do the same. Glancing at you both, Wolfram frowned before his hands met with the ground and two barrier immediately came up to meet you and Izuku. Making a crater with your fist into the clumps of metal, your cursed before you glanced to the side seeing Melissa taking off towards the door. You bolted for the villain about to snatch her, quickly bringing up your fist, luckily Izuku had the same idea, he lands in front of you, but just as you're both about to land a hit you feel something slam into you, knocking you and Izuku to the ground.
"Get outta the way!" Wolfram seeths, pillars of metal came forth, ramming into you and Izuku, you stuck your hand out, energy coating it and your arm for support. You winced as another pillar made contact, forcing to and Izuku into the ground, you pushed against it.
You closed your eye's as you were forced to switch the force force to your forearms, your wrists burning. 'Everyone' you thought back to your friends, to your loves, one of which stood by you now for his life and yours, you thought about your father. 'Dad!' You groaned as another pillar crashed down to bury you both in the terrifying amount of debris that they were pummeling onto your both. 'We will! We will save you!'
Your eye's bursting open in determination, even when you felt the weight on your chest take its toll, screaming under the debris. Izuku's muffled cries to help you fell on deaf ears as your energy wavered around you, leaving you whimpering as you felt the pill you had taken beginning to wear off.
Beyond the mess of metal and cement pieces, Wolfram glared at the pile of rubble, almost eager to dig you up and take you with him. But, as the barriers in the hallways open up, he knew he had no time, "Damn brat! She got control of the security system!" He cursed angrily before looking at the professor and pulling him over his shoulder, glaring at his only team left and letting him follow to escape the building.
After a few seconds, Izuku bursts from the debris, breaking a hole through the wreck and falling through with you in his arms. He falls with a groan, you land on your side, panting before rolling to your back, your chest throbbing horribly, you forced a few painful breaths. Izuku, next to you, tried to stand, only to stumble and hit the ground again, "Izu--" you gasped out.
He took your hand, although you were both exhausted, in pain, and almost entirely out of focus, you both had to stand, it's what a hero would do, it's what you had to do now. Otherwise what was the point of being here? There was a reason you were all here, it was to save everyone, to be heroes. You needed to get up.
With pained gasps and stumbles, you both made it to your feet, leaning on one another, you winced as you clutched the brooch over your heart. It was cracked, you noticed, finally realizing that it had been rerouting your energy in a similar fashion to your costumes jewel. However, it can't take the power, not being made for a quirk but for typical jewelry, you knew in the next few bursts of power, it might break. But, for now, you were just grateful for the extra leverage.
You and Izuku made careful, tired steps towards the blood drops left by the professor, trying to move as quick as your weakened bodies could handle, you couldn't stop. You had to save the professor!
