Side note :: His body type is more accurate to the ingame nelf male model, with everything else as far as hair/eyes/skin/etc goes being the same as above.
He’s still a big ol’ wip so this’ll probably be edited for updated info as I develop his character more.
Being the results of a Kaldorei and a Sin’dorei couple, Von’delar had been given up to an orphanage in Silvermoon City by his parents shortly after his birth. They were unable to care for him, both financially and otherwise as the two had been nomadic types. With no real home let alone decent living, it was hard to raise a child. They decided, for Von’s own wellbeing, to give him up.
Growing up in an orphanage was difficult to say the least, especially in the nitpicking society of the Sin’dorei. Stockier than most others, the Kaldorei traits he possessed being evident even from the beginning, made it hard for potential adopters to get attached to him. As he grew, he had hoped his features would soften to fit in better but alas that never happened.
Eventually, he was faced with a choice. He was about to outgrow the orphanage, being almost of age where he would have to decide what to do with his life. Von’s obvious options were either pursue becoming a magister or a priest and begin his studies or risk being outed to the streets. With his dedication to the Light, it was no surprise he chose to follow the priest’s path.
With this new path came the odd name as well. “Somnaheim” is another clear statement of his being a halfbreed, despite it not being exactly Kaldorei either. To put it simply, whever he enlisted with the priests, he had no surname and required one for documentation. Put on the spot, he chose to go with the oddity name, feeling as though he was unworthy to go with a traditional elven name.
Von’delar would follow the priests order in Silvermoon without question, specializing in being a battle cleric. He was often called to assist the Farstriders, Royal Guards, or any that may see frequent battle. Von was dedicated to the church and had finally found content in his life.
During the scourge invasion, Von had worked tirelessly as much as he could to rescue those he could from Silvermoon, then after providing aid to those who needed immediate treatments. He would spend the next few months afterwards lending his assistance to the sick and injured.
Not long afterwards, whenever it was announced that Lady Liadrin had become the matriarch for the paladin order of Blood Knights in Silvermoon, Von had made the choice to change his profession, opting to begin training as a paladin as a way to make himself stronger. Witnessing so much death in the invasions years ago at this point, he had never felt as hopeless or weak as he did then.
His training was rigorous and extensive though he found a lot of it to be very similar to priesthood, if not more hands on. During his time training, Von realized his almost natural instincts on being in the front lines rather than support, sparking his interests further into the art of battle. Again, he found contentment in this way of life. More so than before when he was a priest.
Though he lived most of his life in Silvermoon, it wasn’t until Garrosh’s reign as Warchief that he began adventuring out. He had heard the rumors of the hostility in Orgrimmar towards non-orcs and he’d eventually been hired by an elven noble to act as a bodyguard for him on his trip to Orgrimmar for business that Von’delar realized there was a business to be had here. He quite enjoyed the travelling aspect of being a bodyguard, or a mercenary for hire for those that sought it, as well as still keeping to his statement of wanting to protect where before he couldn’t.
He would stay in this line of business long after the noble no longer required his services. This life certainly comes with it’s hardships, most wanting a well known adventurer or experienced hero type by their side instead of some halfbreed orphan boy that’s barely been passed his own lands borders. He does occasionally catch a break sometimes with work but not as often as he’d like.
Regardless, he can at least say he’s happy with this life now.
