i love academy dimiclaude but i know those idiots have the longest most insane slowburn ever and only even start dating post five year timeskip when claude moves back to almyra
#rant incoming in the tags#but anyways i could see them have feelings for each other in the academy#but neither is willing to act on it especially claude#i just think a lot of claude’s issues would hold him back from a romantic relationship#and i think he would be very aware of the fact that he can’t really promise his future to anyone#because he was always gonna return home at the end#and i don’t think he would want to lead dimitri on#dima is more complicated#cause i could see him trying to confess and make it work#but i also know that as he slips towards the end of the academy phase he a. wouldn’t want claude to see him like that and#b. would not be of the right mind for a romantic relationship#alongside their own personal issues i also think the fact that they’re both very important political figures would make them feel like they#can’t pursue anything even if they wanted to#like my specific vision of dmcl is they become friends in the academy and are able to confide in each other#and over time they also grow to have feelings for each other#but come to the conclusion that for whatever reason it’s not soemthing they can/should pursue#so (AM route) cut to gronder where claude sees him again and is like well damn#cause that’s not the dimitri he fell in love with#but then goldens deer plea happens and claude has that ridiculously flirty “when we meet again don’t be too hard on me your kingliness;)#and rhen after the war and everything khalid reaches out to fodlan and specifically dimitri to improve their relationship#and maybe they never quite got past their feelings for each other…#it’s always been you moment follows#Sorry.
