OH also i forgot to mention; I am now a proud Clip Studio Paint owner and my power has grown tenfold, at the cost of art taking longer while I adjust to a new program, so next few updates & any character asks I get in the meantime will be delayed
#off topic#i've been doing digital art for like. 6-7 years and i have only ever used firealpaca for that entire time#but clip was on sale and i was finally like. Ok. fuck it im getting clip now#this shit is great im never going back

mmmmmmMMMMMMMMMM
i ended up buying clip studio paint LOL idk i just rly like it, it has good features & i got comfortable while i was messing around w/ it oops
i did actually try out krita too tho and it is Very Good so far, i mean i really haven’t done practically anything in it yet besides playing w/ inking brushes & stabilizers so i rly want to try at least coloring before i give any fully realized opinions, but from what i’ve seen so far it’s a good program, i’d recommend checking it out if ur looking for programs since it’s free & everything
that being said tho i feel like i’m constantly wrestling w/ the controls/interface- i mean i only spent maybe a little over an hour in the program so i’m sure it’s fine once you get the hang of it, but my first impression is that it’s not really all that intuitive and it’s pretty hard to understand w/o some guidance; i found a playlist of tutorials on youtube but they’re not as focused or in-depth as the csp ones so maybe that’s why im struggling a bit more (bc lbr csp’s interface is pretty rough at first too)
in any case i think i’m gonna continue playing w/ krita even tho i bought csp bc idk i feel like i have it now so why not & also since im in this, like, transition stage where im trying to migrate to a new art program, it might benefit me to try learning two? like, even if i end up liking krita’s painting tools better, csp still has all the other things i liked it for, like the 3d models & especially the comic stuff, i can really see that coming in useful down the line
so yeah basically i guess i’m happy w/ how things went today, im rly excited to learn these programs & make cool art w/ them?? i’ve been meaning to do this (find a new program) for a long time tbh but i never got around to it, the only reason i’ve done it now is bc that sale on csp was about to end lmaooo
but dang like..... the stabilizer is life-changing ok..... there is a very specific type of line style that i always wanted to do but was never able to bc my shitty version of photoshop was holding me back, i specifically remember spending 1000 yrs on this drawing manually smoothing out the lines like it took so long but now i can do This Shit
like DAM!!!!! look at those fluid-ass fucking curves!!!! u cant do this shit in photoshop elements 5.0 u just can’t!!! this is so groundbreaking 4 my art im so excited abt this i can finally do thin lineart For Real u guys aaaaaa!!!!!
like honestly compare to this:
look at that wobbly shit get th eFuck outta here im a different person now, a changed man, New Year New Me
#update on my art program shenanigans#like why didnt i do this way sooner lol pse been holding me back this whole time!#retag later#talkin bout stuff#(the smooth lines one is rir btw;; i dont draw them w/ their hair down v often so)
