alright I didn't see anyone in the reblogs say anything so I guess I'll be the responsible adult and poop on the party (boo, hiss, tomato)

PoliticsVideoChannel is not a credible source (I poked around a little and they appear to be basically a gossip rag dedicated exclusively to posting screenshot bait like this).

There does seem to be interest in investigating Musk's attempts to interfere with European elections, from multiple countries in Europe, including France and Germany, so there's that.

France does seem to have passed a law in March of 2024 to expand already-existing surveillance tech to potentially ferret out "foreign interference," and there is apparently some kind of protocol for freezing the assets of said agents, but I am not French or a lawyer and have no idea how this would actually work, especially when you consider the likely level of complexity of the finances of the world's richest man, who it's worth noting is currently besties with the guy who's going to be the president of the United States in 9 days.

so tl;dr even if France could do this (and I guess in the most technically correct sense of the word, sure, they could) it's extremely unlikely that they would and even less likely that anything would come of it.

I'm sorry but getting rid of Elon Musk is just not gonna be as easy as France cutting off his allowance and putting him in time out. I wish it was.
