He’d be like “whatever” since he knows that so many girls want to be in your place, might even consider sliding back to that one ex. Would be torn between just letting things go back to normal but his stubborn stagnant attitude would leave him stuck in a victim state. But then once the pain slowlyyy seeps in and that what you two had was something genuine and you were one of few people that actually understood him and physically compatible with him then on the inside he’d lose it. Would have a wayyy more sappy lovey dovey way of coming back. Cue him using music in some way shape or form as his way of coming back. Would probably want to physically see you in a place that he’s most comfortable with.

So so sassy. Honestly he’d walk away pretty fast but would miss you pretty fast right after. He’d hesitate but only because he knows that he probably got a little mean when you two split and that you might not even want to talk to him. Tries to go dating around but wakes up and gets it together once he sees/hears that you’re talking to someone new (10 extra points if it’s someone he doesn’t like or thinks isn’t even close to how attractive he is ) . Tries to be cool about it but is hurting inside, would ask everyone for advice. The emotional side would take over and he’d just have to listen to how he feels and think later. His way of coming back is essentially him outdoing whoever has you on their sights or him showing you the epitome of affection. He’d have to force his virgo mercury to work and speak UP and apologize.

Would seem pretty ok and normal compared to everyone else similarly to Eunseok. Talks about you but wants to jump someone if THEY try to talk about you. (“can’t believe she’d do this” “yea she’s crazy asf” “Don’t say that 🫤.” ). (Cue him singing “When I was your man” by Bruno Mars 😭). He wouldn’t want to constrict and limit himself or you after the breakup so he’d also try to date/talk to other people. Has to give in and accept that thinking about you while hanging out with someone else is a CLEAR indicator that he needs to get off his high horse and return. He’d probably word vomit about how he feels about everything and apologize but also goes on this passive lecture on how you two shouldn’t allow each others feelings to rip you two apart like that again and the principle of it all.

To some, it’s baffling how one could fall for Taehoon Seong out of all people. He’s a pretty guy with captivating eyes and graceful movements, nghhh~ he's undeniably irresistible, isn't he? Every girl around him would think the same, swooning left and right due to his insane visuals -- Tsk! He's gorgeous! And you weren’t any different. In fact, you were his biggest simp.

It was a curious pairing, to say the least—Mr. Bad Boy and Miss Too-Good-For-Your-Own-Good.

Taehoon strode into the room with the kind of attitude that made people step aside. His arrogance and aggression were palpable. “Do I look like a fuckin’ bank to ya? I ain’t lending 7000, got it? Now scram before I beat the shit outta ya.”

You, on the other hand, were the epitome of kindness and generosity. “Sure! You can borrow 200,000 won from me! Just pay it as soon as you can!” Yeah, incredibly dumb too, unfortunately.

Taehoon had an uncanny ability to read people like an open book. “You think I’m stupid enough to fall for that?” He’d snap, seeing through deceptions with ease.

Meanwhile, “Always happy to help!” You remained blissfully unaware of how people took advantage of you.

Taehoon lived by his own rules, always favoring his own brand of logic. “I’m doing this my way. It’s more efficient.” he would declare, unyielding in his methods.

And then there was you, grappling with concepts that seemed beyond your grasp. “Fuck this shit, I don’t understand a thing!”

“It’s math.” He'd say, almost bemused.

“I hate it.” you’d retort, your frustration evident.

“Those are just numbers.” he would explain.

“Fuck numbers, bruh!” you’d respond, exasperated.

You might sob over a movie, your emotions spilled out loud, and he’d- “Boooo. 0 stars. Too many plot holes. ”

Sometimes, vulnerability hits you, “Ugly crying in my bed right now,” and he’d cut through the sadness with an - “Alright, who the fuck hurt you?”

Happiness flowed from you like a river when you were with him. “I’m so happy when I’m with you~” To which he’d retort, “Same-- Ugh! Will you wipe that grin off?”

When you voiced how something hurt you, he’d reply bluntly, “Sometimes we just have to suck it up.”

“Can’t you be a little more sensitive?” But he'd always try. “I’m trying to understand where you’re coming from.”

And in the wake of betrayal, you’d lament, “Aughh, I just didn’t expect her to backstab me like that, I’m so stupid!” He’d offer a rough kind of comfort, “Want me to kick her in the ass?”

But beneath all these differences—your gentleness against his toughness, your warmth melting through his cold exterior—there was balance.

There was love.

There was harmony.

If it wasn’t already clear, he needed you just as much as you needed him.

From time to time, Taehoon shows his vulnerable side. You have to remember, he's just a human being and he can't always keep up his tough guy persona.

He grapples with uncertainties, worried that without caution, he could distance himself from you and ultimately be left alone.

He carries a burden of past mistakes that weighs heavily on his shoulders. It's an injury he seldom recognizes, yet it impacts all his decisions in a subtle way.

However, despite feeling clearly insecure, Taehoon, being Taehoon, decides to never address it openly.

These ideas, though, are simply possibilities. He always puts in the effort to avoid making mistakes.

In his own way, he cherishes the balance you bring to his life.

Skimmons. Okay okay ik what a lot of people are gonna say, but I just think they're wonderful together. I've drifted a bit from shipping this, I do see the sisters aspect of them (I don't see them as sisters and romantically at the same time, that is WEIRD), but I still have a small soft spot for it. I think it's mostly Chloe and Elizabeth's love for the ship that sells it

Philinda. Tbh this and Skimmons could be switched, they're very close in my brain. While I don't necessarily feel too bad about them splitting up in s7, I like both the platonic and romantic versions of them, I think they were really great. They so obviously love each other, and what more can I say to that?

Huntingbird. 100% compatible 50% of the time, as Hunter puts it. I don't believe this to be the healthiest of AoS relationships, but not everything has to be perfect all the time. One moment they could be making jabs at one another, the next they're making out. Who knows? Their moments are a fun time either way

MackElena. I think what this ship needs is more time. Compared to the other relationships, MackElena doesn't get to share the screen all that much. I do love how they learn from one another, and they've always given me a kind of comforting type of vibe. They're just cute together

Simmorse. This feels like a relatively newer ship in the fandom, and I am all for it. I don't ship it massively, but I 100% see the potential, I think it's very easy to see that Jemma was crushing on Bobbi a couple times

There are more than a few moments where they're arguing, majority of the time Lincoln being in the wrong, and later Daisy apologizing for it? It always struck me as odd. DekeDaisy. Idk if they have an actual ship name, so I'm going with this one for now. It's just wayyy too one-sided and doesn't seem like it would work anyway. Daisy was not in the right frame of mind for a relationship, and she seemed relatively blind to Deke's advances. Also considering that Deke sold her to the Kree earlier... yeah, it was never gonna work

Skyeward. It might get up one spot for the Framework version of them, but as it stands, the real life version of them is AWFUL. and this is actually a great question! i love getting little questions like this… even if i feel that i’m kind of bad at explaining sometimes hehe! such a tough question too though, hopefully you don’t mind if i answer with a couple people…

i think one that i would’ve loved to meet would of course be pelle from morbid / mayhem! someone on here once told me they thought him and i seemed to have similar souls and it fucked me up, in the best way, for days! i don’t think i would be able to talk much to him if i did meet him though, i’m already a very shy person around everyone let alone people who i have so much admiration and respect for! i think i would just be kind of starstruck but thankfully i do not stare at people so i probably would not make him uncomfortable by eyeballing him lolol… i tend to keep my eyes down to the ground and only sometimes look up when spoken to! i keep to myself a lot of the time unless someone sparks conversation with me first and if they mention something i really enjoy, like a band or movie, then i tend to slowly come out of my shell and will ease into a passionate ramble about said thing to this unsuspecting person lolol! i usually only wear shirts that are related to bands or movies so maybe that would peak his interest a little, if it was a band or movie he also liked…

i suppose i can’t really go into major reasoning as to why i would like to meet him out of so many others in the black metal scene but i think it boils down to feeling as though we have kind of similar personalities and similar struggles… i think he was such a strong talent, such a unique soul lost too soon but i am glad he was able to leave this word on his own terms, i’m hoping that doesn’t sound fucked up or anything! i would’ve liked to ask him about his thoughts on many things, his hobbies and all of that stuff…

a second musician would be fenriz from darkthrone / isengard! not even specifically younger fenriz, i would love to meet him as he is now! he just seems so fun yet laidback at the same time, so humorous and passionate… i would love love love to ramble back and forth about obscure music hehe! not to mention cats! i can see us showing pictures of our cats to each other like proud parents! not to mention i just think i would be very easily made comfortable in his presence, he just seems so genuinely nice to be around and not judgemental in the slightest! i mean, i think i would still be awestruck at meeting someone so talented but i just think he would make you feel like you’ve been friends for years within just a couple minutes of meeting and chatting…

a third musician would simply have to be cronos from venom! like many people, venom was one of the first few extreme metal bands i began listening to when i was wayyy younger and it was the first band that i got really heavily into… i mean seriously, i begged my grandmother to buy me every single one of their CDs lolol! i think my grandfather only really supported me in my begging because he is from newcastle himself… my grandmother did not buy me all of their CDs but she did buy me welcome to hell, then my older cousin burned some more custom venom CDs for me! it’s also one of the few extreme metal bands my mother really likes too, so that’s always a major plus! i think cronos just seems like a very genuine guy, he seems fun to hang out with and again, i would probably to too starstruck to talk all that much! i don’t think i would be a true british metalhead if i didn’t really want to meet cronos! so yeah, i think i’d just like to ask him about how it feels to be so… respected? i guess? how it feels to have been so many peoples first real introduction to more extreme metal, how it felt to have been the band…

not exactly a musician but i would dieee if i ever met metalion! gosh, he just probably has so so so many stories to tell about people in the extreme metal scene, so many good memories and pictures hidden away! every time i read an interview with him, i find myself agreeing with nearly everything he says so i just think i would find him to be very good company! definitely one of those guys you plan on talking to for a quick five minutes that suddenly turns into five hours because of how easy he is to talk to and how many stories he has to tell…

and a bonus musician is akira yamaoka even though he is certainly not black metal! gosh, i would really sell some of my organs to meet him… his music is always just incredible to me, always so full of passion and genuine care for the project! even his solo project, enn mo takenawa, was beyond beautiful and unique… he is such a talented soul, such an obviously passionate soul and i would love to just sit and have a conversation with him about music, about his music and music he enjoys / finds inspiration in! so much of his music has gotten me through some real tough nights and some real lonely walks, his music is true beauty in the eeriest form…

i will not give major reasonings for these but some others i would love to meet and have a simple little chat with would be S.D. from trembling void, faust from emperor / scum, B.S.O.D. from grausamkeit, euronymous from mayhem, kobal from darvulia / fornication, ihsahn from emperor and quorthon from bathory! of course, i could go on so much more about why all of these people are so interesting to me, why i would love to meet them and chat with them but i do not wish to keep you here all damn day lolol!

i don't mind the rambles, don't worry. but yeah, honestly trans people even when we're not shown in media as specifically unattractive, we're not like. depicted as attractive either. we don't get to be like objects of attraction if that makes sense? we get to be like side characters and shit. and top surgery or any surgical scars are generally pretty damn taboo because ooOOOOoooo we're mutilating something or other or whatever the fuck it is. even irl, we're generally considered a stereotypically unattractive group. when trans people are rarely represented, we don't get to be like objects of attraction. we're usually "and here's the lesson! don't be mean!" one off characters or best friend characters (assuming we're not horrible stereotypes). plus a lot of medias arent eager to add us in in general in fear of losing their more conservative audiences.

it's totally fine when you rant, I do it too (as demonstrated by the above), I've had quite a few VN/IF creators apologize to me about like rambling about their games and like, I'm asking questions because i love the media. I get the feeling, cause I get that about other stuff. but seriously, info-dumping about something you've created that people love is awesome for fans (not to speak for all of us, but generally it seems to be)

Ngl I'm blind to a lot of that media portrayal bc I'm not entrenched in a lot of media anymore. I "conceived" Basil as trans from the start (he was a LI/supporting character in a nosleep story [horror writing subreddit over on Reddit] I never ended up posting), and in my mind, he was just always "him" and always pretty cute. I was comfortable enough writing a trans character bc one of my oldest friends is a trans man, and he let me ask him just about anything I wanted to know. Ofc I researched most of the necessary info on my own, but having him around was still helpful and very reassuring. (In hindsight, this is also making me kinda sad bc that friend and I have kinda drifted apart since...)

I was kinda hesitant about sharing though bc I was afraid of getting things wrong, but hey, if what you're saying about the mainstream portrayal of trans folk is anything to go off of, I'm probably doing okay (nervous laughter).

Actually, have an excerpt from the original story Basil appeared in! [Note: he's WAYYY dorkier and socially awkward in this than in Such Happy Campers. He's also a landlord in this, so the vanlife stuff and spiritualism is part of his overhaul for SHC. But original Basil makes the same amount of horrible jokes.] [more below]

I was prepared to camp outside that house. That turned out not to be necessary, as right at that moment, a peculiar-looking youngish man appeared in the doorway. Pieces of striped tapestry clung to his threadbare tracksuit and glue coated a good portion of his hair.

I asked him if he’d just been in a fight, and he assured me he’d merely been putting up new wallpapers in one of the apartments. When I asked whether he had something for me to rent on short notice, he was surprisingly cooperative. He introduced himself to me as Basil, and enthusiastically welcomed me to the house and the neighborhood. When we shook hands, our palms stuck together. 

“Sorry… I had an accident with the glue,” he explained, grimacing awkwardly. “Don’t worry, I got something to wash it off. You’d best come in.”

With a glance at our entwined fingers, I told him I obviously had nowhere else to go, to which he replied that one could say my hands were tied.

Been meaning to share this snippet for a while and this seems a good opportunity. This was how he "looked" at the time/how the main character describes him:

I admittedly always considered him very attractive, albeit goofy-looking with his fluffy blond mustache and mullet. Something about his appearance inspired trust and openness, and the warmth he exuded was more than welcome.

So yeah, that's some of Basil's history. In this old version, he was actually kind of insecure about his surgery scars (which were fresher at the time, and he hated a lot of his looks in general), which I ended up discarding because I much prefer him with astronomic levels of smugness. Like, I want him to be fully aware of how good he looks.

I'm very happy with the current version of Basil, and I'm glad I "saved" his character for this IF project instead of posting his story back then. I just realized (while I was writing the nosleep story at the time) that I LOVED writing him and wanted to have him there in a bigger project, which ended up being SHC.

Okay yeah I'm about to be one of those IF authors you mentioned bc now I need to apologize as well. I went on a huge tangent here. Hope this particular infodump was at least somewhat interesting to you! Either way, thanks so much for the talk.

Journey towards blue (eventually) playing hockey update #2:

Got hockey skates!!! The guy at the local hockey shop was a nice dad with hockey kids who walked me through the whole thing. He was very nice and helpful and i am grateful for that. I wore them at public skate and class this week and last week. One of the instructors said i look more comfortable on hockey skates 😅 so i guess that’s a good sign, right?

Officially halfway through my LTS class (or at least the amount of sessions i paid for). They passed me through level 3 today but i really don’t think i should have been - backwards one foot glides are STILL eluding me 😪 i know i’m being hard on myself but at the same time i don’t necessarily feel confident to get bumped up to the next level. I think i do better technique-wise when i’m not really being watched. Like having them stare at me makes me think too hard? But when they leave us alone for a bit and i practice i seem to get it wayyy better. Which is not helpful for learning from a teacher. Regardless,I think i’m gonna do some private lessons on top of these sessions.

Been going to public skate on one of my weekend days every week. Usually it’s me, some figure skating people, and one dude in hockey skates who seems to only be exclusively practicing hockey stops and skating fast…Meanwhile i’m over here trying to discover edges and master backwards skating. I don’t have hockey pads yet but i do have a hockey helmet, so i wear that with my roller skating elbow and knee pads. I actually hadn’t fallen the past few skates until today at LTS. but i know if i EVER want to get edges down i’ll need to biff it, HARD. But i am already embarrassed 🙃 or not embarrassed but i don’t want an audience for that.

Excited to keep learning and practicing! No idea if i’m progressing on an average pace or not, but i enjoy the challenge. Saw high schoolers playing on the rink next to ours and 😱 i can’t fathom going that fast. But i’m gonna keep working!!

Hiiiiii. My opinion might be unpopular and controversal even to some but i just gotta share this with you because FINALLY i found someone that is actually rational about how fucked up Aeon really is. I'm sorry i said it.

First, nothing wrong with the ship it's self, it's just that it ain't it. I personally realistically could never be able to picture Leon with any of the girls he's been seen with so far. I'm so fucking glad RE4R choose to shut it down or at least tone it wayyy down a notch than the OG.

It gives my wee heart some comfort knowing that i can enjoy self insert/reader/OC fics with Leon out there without constantly having to think of Wong at all times. What can i say? I'm a sucker for this man and i wanna be self indulgent and give him happiness he deserves. AND i'm grateful for everyone else that does exactly the same, regardless if it's just a fictional pixel.

Also, your little take on EagleOne is very cute and interesting, i love multishipping and whilst i personally never saw their interactions like that (sorryyy) i do like the creative theories people come up with in the fandom while remaining respectful to those around them unlike some shippers i know... But yeah, if it means anything, i just wanna say that i saw Leon's interactions with Ashley sincerely as this older brother that saw himself in Ashley like he was once in RC and wanted to protect that "innocence", maybe there's a bit of Sherry in there too. I think this is also something Capcom was going for too, one of the directors said i believe.

But all in all, there's no hope for these characters outside of fanfiction really, just gotta keep fighting the good fight.

And with Menelaus and Odysseus, they're so fun to write about as they're different in personality but they understand each other. Both being hurt by one another with Odysseus' "I pretended to be mad to not help" and Menelaus having the war in the first place, they're hurt but also are thinking "...I would have done the same if I was in your position." As their wives and children are the most important to them. And they both know that while they care about each other,

"You're my dearest friend but my family will always come before you. I don't feel bad about trying to dodge the draft." "Ditto. I don't feel bad about dragging you to help me. Let's go cuddle and cry."

And they get comfort by knowing the other understands that. They both need their time to ramble and cry about their loves and kids. As they ARE lonely and scared. Friendship isn't less meaningful than a romantic/sexual relationship. I also have them as friends since before they got married so their friendship goes way back as well.

Like I sometimes get worried about scenes I wanna write because "will readers make this weird?" when that's not my intention at ALL.

Odysseus' straining voice hurled itself at him as he was now yelling in Menelaus' face. A baby's wail echoed throughout the camp. The loud little lungs of Greater Ajax's young son, Eurysaces, cried out as he was awoken by loud yelling… The two fathers instinctively whipped towards the sound, stunned still. Odysseus' face, twisted up in anger as tears gushed from his eyes, went slack. The shadow of a woman in the torchlight moved throughout the tent a ways away. Picking up her child, soothing him… It's been so long since Menelaus' has seen his children. Their children. Hermione was 9 and Megapenthes was 5 when Helen was kidnapped. Menelaus used to be able to pick them both up in his arms, lifting them alternatively as they laughed and asked to be taken higher…She was 13 and he was 9 now… Could he still do that? A bush of red-brown pressed against Menelaus' chest, curtaining Odysseus' face as he looked down. "I miss my baby…" he whimpered, leaning on him. "I want my baby…" Menelaus squeezed his friend tightly to him, blinking back tears of his own. Odysseus shook with more sobs. "He's not even a baby anymore but he… He's mine." He weakly slammed a bloody fist into Menelaus' chest and raised his head. "She's not a bitch! ...How could he even call her that…?" Menelaus swallowed a sob, rubbing Odysseus' back.

The Palamedes situation is more complex than this (it's definitely not black and white) but it's a big emotional moment. :')

Call me Floor 9 because it's THE HAMMER. Dude is out there incorporating any sport he can to fighting with a hammer, he's killing people with Hammer-Kendo and he tried to play Hammer-Baseball, like he's So Real for that, also it's so good like yesss he'll get in your face and get covered in your blood when he kills you, unlike his siblings who fight with guns, he's close and personal with death.

Like it's such a heavy tool and it requires so much control if you don't want to fuck up your entire body trying to swing it and he just. he does it. repeatedly. He does kendo moves with a tool with a complete different balance and a wayyy more important weight than a shinai. Did he use a sledgehammer before? Did he recreationally watch sledgehammer videos like I do? Did he just do the whole calculation in his head the second his hand touched it? Did the "Rika Knows The Future" crack theory strike again? Random Obscure Things You Can’t Do with a Tongue Piercing:

I made this list for fun, but who knows, maybe it’ll be useful for fellow writers or anyone weighing the pros and cons of getting a tongue piercing...

1. Play poison dart frog :(

2. Blow bubbles with bubble gum

3. Lick a beater (doable, but that mfer gets caught on all the prongs)

4. Stick your tongue out at people (normally), or do so without looking like a fool. I used to do it habitually, it was like a whole thing, but it becomes much harder cause you have to allow room for the piercing to pass through your teeth as well, and its much less forgiving than a squishy tongue.

5. Get hairs from your mouth easily? Idk. It gets wrapped around the stem and for some reason they’re just really hard to pull off.

6. Have normal levels of spit. I’ve never in my life had issues with producing too much saliva but I do now. Drooling becomes wayyy too easy and I spit while talking on accident. I don’t think this happens to everyone, but it’s a known thing.

7. Lick/eat popsicles and ice cream bars easily. It can hurt when it gets super cold, and also gets caught on things. This subsides the longer you have it, and might also only apply to people who are more sensitive. Like my teeth? Cannot handle the cold, so naturally my tongue struggles too. Easy way around it - just use your lips instead but it’s still not the same as before (and this doesn’t apply to ice cream biters... you heathens)

8. Keep your tongue in your mouth! (Jokes) It’s addicting to play with, and for someone like me who can’t help but fidget, I often play with the piercing without even noticing.

9. Blow raspberries (might be possible depending on placement)

10. Kiss without it hitting the other persons teeth. It made for a very strange first kiss imo, but it becomes easier with practice.

11. Do tongue tricks.... so sad my skills have gone to waste. Hot dog is about all I can do now, but once upon a time I could do clover, 180°, spoon, and the s-shaped one.

12. Be seen as a prude. A lot of people jump to the dirty side once they see it, but not all!

13. Make the waterdrop sound with your mouth. Another one that’s kind of doable, but really difficult. Used to be able to do it and impress people but alas no longer

14. It can be uncomfortable to lick something solid? Not that you ever do that much anyways... but like, say you lick someone’s arm or a wall or something - it’s much more likely to drag along the surface, and it tugs a little. It doesn’t hurt, just not super comfy. Squishy things are fine tho lol

15. Same idea as no.14, but licking things that aren’t very lickable is also very uncomfortable, even more so than solid things. Like blankets, fabric, paper... you get my drift. And yes, this is tried and tested. You’re welcome.

16. Always be 105% comfortable with the piercing. You get used to it, and barely even notice it most of the time, BUT, and it’s a big but, every once in a while it can feel so overwhelming. Like, if I’m overstimulated, half the time my body pinpoints on it, since its always in my mouth. There have been times I’ve wanted to rip it out because I was so overwhelmed, but of course as soon as I calm down, it feels fine again.

17. Eat super sticky things. It’s fine for the most part, but can get tricky. I have a hard time with Starbursts – they like to wrap around the piercing stem, which is hard to deal with! Jolly Ranchers are also more difficult, as the piercing sticks to the candy and then gets pulled when it moves.

The origin of Wren is that is the name I have chosen for myself in video games! Ever since I played pokemon crystal in middle school! On playr.org lol

And I chose Wren because ok long story incoming!

My great great grandparents wanted a son to name Ray. But they got a daughter instead. So they named her Raenata so that they could still call her Rae. Renata is the actual spelling. (The boys mother in ratatouille is named Renata!)

My mom "mispelled" my middle name as Renata, even though it was supposed to be Raenata. But it's actually spelled right XD

So I've always loved my middle name. So I started naming Kris in pokemon crystal Ren. But that didn't look right. It was around this time I started getting really interested in birds, and thought Wren seemed way cooler! Also I love nature based names. Ever since I like to name my characters Wren.

So Wrenata was taken as a username, but that's OK cause I can still use Wraenata! But I like to be called Wren as well <3

Also it doesn't bother me if people misspell wraenata at all. My first name is misspelled all the time, I am very used to it XD

Today I have to go to a family wedding with my parents. It's far away this is like an 8 hour ordeal at least oof. So it's going to be socially exhausting. do you find writing hurt/comfort gets more difficult the older you get? i'm a hurt/comfort writer through and through, but it was way easier when i was like 14 to write about 'deep stuff' and think nothing of it. it was cringe but i was free. now i'm 20, and i want to write hurt/comfort but i'm somewhat afraid of it?

like as adults we still deal with these things, but i find myself wanting to avoid them because it feels childish. it makes it more interesting to write about, but i can't help but feel childish when i want to write about certain topics (u kno. depression. relapse. alcoholism. the full works). and i worry that it comes across immature to others, despite the fact im literally an adult lmao

you have a really nice way of going about angst in your fics, and i want to too. idk i just thought it'd be cool to waffle on about maturing in fandom and what that does for writing and interacting etc. but maybe it just seems extra HAHA i'm just bored and wanted to talk abt it

hey hi hello! took me a minute to get to this, because i wanted to give it a proper answer.

this is a really interesting question i'm glad you brought it to me!!! i'm also intrigued by what you said, because i actually have found it to be the opposite. now, to be fair, i have had a semi-charmed life, so i don't have experience with most of the really hard-hitting heavy angst topics and i have relied on what i've read/seen/learned about for writing those things. because of that, though, i think the "angst" i was writing when i was a kid was wayyy off the mark, and probably hella unrealistic, because i just didn't have the experience to draw from, and i didn't have the perspective to like...fully understand how to write something i didn't know about.

as an adult (or at least more of one), i think i'm much more capable of writing good angst, because i can understand things like: nuance. individual differences. human behavior. moral gray areas. the complexity of the human experience. etc. i've learned, for example, that two people can have the same exact problem and handle it in completely opposite ways, and that knowledge has allowed me to take liberties in writing while also staying conscious of what is in the realm of a "realistic" representation of any given conflict.

another part of being able to write better hurt/comfort, though, is that i really understand a lot more what constitutes as "comfort," and how that can be just as nuanced and complex as the "hurt" part of things. people are comforted by different things. in different ways. by different people. one person may want hugs, one may want to be left alone. one may say they want to be left alone but in reality want hugs. and furthermore, sometimes "comfort" doesn't actually mean "the problem is solved." sometimes it means "let me share this burden." sometimes it means "crying about it is better than not." sometimes it means "the problem hasn't gone away, but i can distract you from it for right now." sometimes it means "i can't help you, but i can help you get help." et cetera et cetera!

i can see where you're coming from, because there are pitfalls in writing hurt/comfort that younger writers do tend to fall into (simply by virtue of not really knowing better), like, for example, thinking that if the "hurt" is alcoholism, then the "comfort" is sobriety that sticks the first time. but! we know that things are not always so neat, and that makes us capable of writing way more interesting stories, because they aren't open-shut, "here's the problem and here's how i fixed it" cases. things don't often get tied neatly in a bow. some of my favorite angst i've ever read or written had ambiguous endings where you didn't know if the problem would be solved in the long run, because that's life! some problems are chronic and incessant; some come and go. some remain a looming presence over your shoulder, presenting an imminent threat to your fragile peace of mind. and many of these don't have an easy fix, which is why they're so interesting and fun (and sometimes challenging) to write about. but i think that as long as you're aware of how layered and complex these things are (which it sounds like you are), you probably won't come across as immature while writing about them.

and by the way, caveat to the above: sometimes "comfort" does mean "the problem is solved," and that's just as legitimate as any of the other shit i said! sometimes it's as easy as saying "person A needs X, and person B has X." whether X is a hug or the thing they need to hear in that moment or a fuckin letter from their past self or just a glass of water, sometimes person B can solve the problem. it happens in real life all the time, and it's not immature to write it in a story. so basically what i'm saying is: as long as you remember that the human experience is messy and complicated and weird and nuanced, you're golden.

I also have a very strong grunge style, like Flannels, band t-shirts, combat boots, leather jackets etc. But i'd also always enjoy a nice oversized sweatshirt or hoodie with a pair of skinny, ripped jeans and some converses or something along those lines.

For my personality.....this is where things get interesting. At first people find me very intimidating due to my resting bitch face and cold exterior but I promise i'm not like that ALL the time. When you get to know me, i'm goofy and about everything that comes out of my mouth is sarcasm or some dry humored joke. I'm also that one friend in a group where they literally will do the stupidest shit ever like for an example one time it was super dark outside and my other friend was there, while I was trying to climb a tree and I failed and fell out of the tree, and landed on my back. I got straight up after that somehow it didn't hurt.....like at all? But yeah i'm super reckless and sometimes people have to save me from myself if you get what I mean. I also have a very strong "I don't give a fuck" attitude and I will not hesitate to stick up for myself or my friends....like i'm the type of person where if someone glares at me, i'll glare right back.

I have bad anxiety and I can be very self destructive. This is where my feisty, stubborn, hardheaded side comes in. If I want something then i'll fight for it even if it hurts me and i'll get into a bad cycle of putting myself down and trying to do better even if I did great the first time but I always push myself too far and other people have to stop me because I usually can't see it when its happening. I also cover my emotions up and I have a lot of trouble talking about whats bothering me or what problems i'm having emotionally so I put up a wall and I act tough, or happy and sometimes i'll be the exact opposite but I try to hide it.

Weird things about me: I've grown up in the south all my life so sometimes when I talk a few words they'll come out sounding WAYYY more country and southern then I wanted, I don't have an accent but sometimes my words just come out that way. I also love the smell of cigarette smoke....let me explain. When I was a kid my parents smoked a lot and I was used to smelling it and now it reminds me of home and is sort of comforting.

Things I like: I love swimming (I was on a swim team for about 9 years), I love horror movies, I like rain and the sounds of thunderstorms because its calming to me, I also love the smell of rain, I like cloudy days, cooking, listening to 80's and 90's rock but mainly 90's because 90's is the best, My favorite bands are Bush, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkoln Park, Pearl jam but i'm pretty open to anything.

Things I dislike: Spiders.......I will scream if I see a spider.

Leo sun twins! You have amazing music taste and also as an Alabamian I love my southerners. The south gets so much unnecessary hate sometimes. -Fern

Bo Sinclair

The only downside between you and Bo is you both can be hotheaded. So arguments between the two of you could be pretty brutal and somewhat frequent.

But moving on to the positives you both have a dry or sarcastic sense of humor. This means you would both most likely find the same things funny. And what's a relationship without being able to constantly joke around with each other.

We also all know that Bo will chain-smoke cigarettes. This man smells like cigarette smoke, motor oil, and old spice. Which is honestly a top tier combo if you ask me. Could imagine Bo saying motor oil and cigarette smoke is what real men smell like.

The two of you would also have music tastes that go together pretty well. I always imagine Bo as being a fan of 90's rock.

Cooking is also an asset that would make Bo fall for you. He definitely loves the whole house wife ideal. But is also more than okay with you being stubborn and independent.

Bo would dare you to do stupid stuff if were being totally honest. He would also be the kind to get mad at you if you get hurt even though he dared you to do something. He's really just hiding the fact he feels guilty by blaming you.

Bo can also relate to the whole self destructive tendencies and does his best to help you with that. I also feel like Bo is very understanding of anxiety seeing the environment he grew up in as well as having to help his twin brother with it.

It's not rude at all! Some systems don't really like to talk about their alters, be they traumagenic (alters who split due to traumatic events) or introjects (characters or people from outside sources, fictional or real, who become alters) so just make sure that you ask others if they're comfortable sharing information about their systems. (you're doing great so far btw, don't worry, this is wayyy more respectful than some of the questions we've gotten)

it is quite a list so just bare with me lol

if you have any questions about terms I use don't be afraid to ask about them, for sake of time and cleaner writing I won't be explaining any system or fandom terms I may use within the little blurbs, but I am happy to explain anything that I write.

Alright, we're going to do this alphabetically, and by fandom. I'm going to give names and a little bit about their characters, as well as how they feel about their source, and anything else that happens to come to mind.

okay- *deep breath*

First off we'll do the DC Universe

Ecco Eco is a character from Fox's Gotham, and technically the first Harley Quinn. We were super close when she was first introjected, but due to recent events we've grown quite estranged. She's outgoing and passionate and a bit of a wild card. When you're on her good side, its great, when you aren't she can be a downright bitch (but me too so no judgement from me lol). She's very protective over Jeremiah, and highly loyal. She fronts occasionally, but prefers to stay in the headspace.

Jeremiah Valeska Ecco's better half, and best comparable to the first Joker, The Criminal. (see The Three Jokers for more info on him) Also from Gotham, Jeremiah was a child prodigy turned supervillain by his twin (who you'll hear about momentarily). He's cold, cunning, and analytical. I get to see a side to him that his source doesn't often show: he's charming and compassionate, but only when he wants to be. Aside from his distaste for the way Ecco is treated in their source, he harbors no negative feelings towards it. Unlike most of our introjects he's taken on rather significant role in the system. One of our alters, Zoe, is a child, and a few of the other alters have stepped up to help me as caregivers, Jeremiah is one of them.

Jerome Valeska My "brother" (Cygnus and I see ourselves as siblings of sorts) idolizes him. They get along fantastically. Jerome is a showman, a performer. He wants to make the audience scream, both with terror and laughter. He loves the spotlight, and is easily one of the most charismatic people in the system. He's neutral about his source, doesn't have any feelings towards it. He tends to carry that "I don't give a fuck" attitude about everything. Life of the party though, tons of fun. HUGE horror movie fan btw, especially loves slashers.

Jonathan Crane Alright, we're out of Gotham territory now lol. As you may know, there are many versions of our beloved Dr. Crane out there. Our first introject primarily takes from The Dark Knight trilogy, and the Year One Batman/Scarecrow comic. But we have a second Scarecrow running around up here, one that comes from Rogues! The Podcast. In order to help differentiate, they do go by different things. The former prefers to be addressed with his official title: Dr. Crane, while the latter goes by Jon. Jon would argue his source greatly exaggerated his drinking habit. We agree to disagree. Dr. Crane is, in large part, to thank for my success in the sciences. I've always enjoyed biology, chemistry, and psychology, so I rarely needed help to focus on such subjects, but when I did need help, him and Dr. Quinzel are the two to step up

Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel One of our Harleys is oldest introject in the whole system, the other was a more recent addition but we love her all the same. Specifically it was Batman: The Animated Series that was responsible for our Harley. Me and her are like peas in a pod, we go wayyyyyyy back. She is fun, charismatic, and her biggest critique of her source is that is forced her and Joker apart. Her devotion may be stronger than Ecco's, but she's much more of a free spirit and it makes her much more bearable to be around. She is one of our frequent fronters, and is a big help when I'm getting overstimulated. Then there's the lovely Dr. Quinzel, the angel on our shoulder. To be honest, I'm not sure what her source is, and neither is she. Before Harley Quinn was Harley Quinn she was a psychiatrist at Arkham, that's who Dr. Quinzel is. (Upon reflection we have considered her source might have been the comic Harleen) Much like miss Quinn though, the good doctor has evolved her own personality and both have almost "outgrown" their sources in a way.

Now I don't play favorites, but I really want to talk about these guys because I'm hyperfixated af so I'll do Supernatural next

Crowley King of the Crossroads, and ruler of Hell. A fantastic business man who knows all the right things to say. He's a charmer and a total snake (affectionate). He's also became a (very welcome) persecutor in the system. He may be the big bad crossroads demon to most people, but they don't realize how sweet and soft he can be (I would 100% believe anyone who told me I was being manipulated by him. I also would not care) He's ambitious, and above all else he is cunning. I feel like I'm just gushing about him, which I totally am, but its fine, he's underappreciated. He's not big on the whole technically being human thing, but otherwise doesn't mind it here. He does front as well, usually to either flirt with someone or tell them to piss off when I can't, but also he just fronts like any other alter. This is like a personal sidebar: but I actually really like my demonic alters because they save me such a headache when they first end up in the system. there's no panic, their reaction is more "how did I get here, I don't remember possessing this vessel" and I can just casually explain and its all good. There's usually a lot of confusion (at least in my experience) when an alter splits or a fictive appears, and it can be difficult for them to wrap their head around what's going on. In some cases *cough cough Will Graham* it brings the unpleasantness of literal headaches.

Dean Winchester Anyway, back on topic: Dean. He's been absolutely amazing. He's simultaneously the big brother I never had and the boyfriend I don't deserve (me him and Crowley have this open throuple thing going on, its great). He's yet another alter who stepped up to fill a significant role. I've been the only guardian in this system since it started, and now I have Dean to help share the load and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. He's exactly how you see him on screen: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Like a waffle. (sorry we're hungry lol) but if you know anything about Supernatural you know what I mean: he's got that tough exterior that he only lets down around the people he cares about. It's been a learning curve for both of us figuring out how to share responsibility for literally every person in our lives with someone else, but we're getting there, and it's been a really great journey so far.

Sam Winchester My beloathed. We actually introjected younger Sam, so he's actually my precious baby boy, not my beloathed. This shouldn't be about my feelings though, its about him. Zoe has another friend now! Sam is older than her by a few years, but they're getting along so well. The Sam we introjected is probably early teens (like 12-14). We (Dean and I) have kept him away from the knowledge of what his source does because there really isn't any point in him knowing all that. He's such a sweet kid, and he's happy to finally have a family. He misses John though, which just breaks my heart. I wish he could have his family back together again, but the best we can do without having John and Mary introjected is creating projections of them in the headspace. Its not a perfect solution, but it's enough.

(possibly) Rowena I say possibly because I don't know for sure if we've actually introjected her or not, and until she becomes a little more solidified I'm going to have to say no, we have not.

It is also very possible that Demon!Dean is around here somewhere and just has yet to fully make himself known

Hannibal is another show with a few introjects. I'm also starting to run out of energy so these are going to lack in detail I'm soo sorry

Hannibal Lecter Another introject that helps as one of Zoe's caregivers, though I'm wary of him being around her. This is NBC Hannibal, not Silence of the Lambs Hannibal though, so do keep that in mind. idk which one I'd trust more with Zoe, but probably NBC's version. He doesn't front often, prefers to stay in the headspace where he can keep an eye on Will, but if people are being rude to me they get taken note of for future reference. (I would like to state that we have not killed or eaten anyone, and we will not kill or eat anyone)

Will Graham Does not front, does not want to front. Will has retired from the FBI and just wants to be left alone with Hannibal, his dogs, and Abigail. I respect these wishes fully.

Abagail was introjected, but is currently dormant, as is Freddie Lounds

Hazbin Hotel:

Alastor The Radio Demon! Another entertainer, though one with more class than Jerome. He gets along... ok... with Crowley. They don't talk often, but there is a sense of camaraderie. I think they'd get along better if Crowley didn't feel threatened. He does not play well with the other Hazbins though. He's fairly solitary if I'm being honest. Him and Hannibal do get along though as they have a lot in common. He likes to entertain Zoe, which I have no problem with. Cool little thing about our Alastor is that he'll alternate between his human and demon forms. He doesn't care about his source, its television, afterall.

Lucifer and Vox are currently dormant, but we did introject them as well.

And these are the second oldest fictives in the system, as well as a sub-system

Norman and Norma Bates I see more of Norman than I do Norma (which is probably a good thing) but they are both around, and Norman is a really nice guy. Me and Norma mostly get along when she is around, so I'm not too worried about her. Neither of them have much to say about their sources, they don't really associate with it at all, they just exist here now and wanna do their own thing. So they've got their motel in the headspace, and they're happy there ^w^ And we have a few random introjects from individual fandoms that were just one-offs Holden Ford, Mindhunter

Amanda Young, Saw

And I'm sure there are a few others that have slipped my mind.
