honestly i think if we as a society started dressing/presenting ourselves historical every day we would be much happier.
for some examples: regency dresses, massive petticoats, cloaks, ornately embroidered waistcoats, putting little sprigs of berries and flowers in our neatly pinned hair, 20s heart lips, bright red tunics with woade blue stockings, cute victorian boots with little velvet buttons, slashing and puffing all over our tops, edwardian lingerie gowns (less scandalous than it sounds), little girls running around in poofy dresses with ribbons in their hair, bustles, Ruffley collars, those little jackets that were popular in the regency, top hats, baker boy caps, french hoods, MASSIVE tie on pockets, 18th century mens lace cuffs, the list could go on forever.
not to mention the fact that almost every body type has been the beauty standard at one time or another, so i'f we dress how people were dressing when our particular shape was sought after than feeling rubbish about ourselves because of beauty standards would go away. poof! gone!
