ignoring the fact that they sound like a married couple arguing, mike and will are also bickering over whether or not el and mike are still together. it was written in the script, rehearsed, performed, and kept in the final cut that will OUTRIGHT SAYS “she said she dumped your ass, that doesn’t sound like a break.” and max yells “it wasn’t!” :@;$:@/&$:&:??!?! they literally said they’re not endgame. they aren’t endgame.
i KNOW right! Based on the s4 movies I think things are reversed and it’s El who can’t accept they are broken up. A lot of films said to inspire s4 have ex gfs refuse to accept the break up -one even hits on her gay ex-bf ( ‘birdcage’ ). Similar scenario in ‘clueless’ with girl hinting on gay guy who just wants to be friends.  Max in s3 having to correct El that Mike is her “ ex boyfriend” and Will saying “that doesn’t sound like a break”. And Max agreeing “it wasn’t!” is foreshadowing they never actually got back together.  IT WASN’T A BREAK! But El may not accept this.
It’s similar, to the random telemarketing joke where they had Mike say on the phone “El, sorry not interested “ and hang up . It was foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
In the films the exes constantly call . Mike telling El “i’ll call so often you’ll have to turn your walkie off” was also foreshadowing of what Mike will do to her in s4. Since ,he hung up on her in s3 when she called demanding to know where he was at 9:30 in the morning.  In  ‘swingers’ the guy name mike (whose friends call him ‘gay’)  hangs up on his ex gf who wants to get back together . He hangs up on her so he can talk to his new love interest (Will) . Specifically, Hangs up on his ex as she says  “I love-“. Then in ‘splash’ he breaks up with his gf on the phone and says “do I love you?well what about you?” To dodge the question (then yells at a family member ease dropping on the other line -Karen). And they break up on the phone. And he tells a friend later he never loved her.
2 movies the ex says they’ll get back together and their new relationships are “just phases” etc ( waynes world,  high fidelity, dumb and dumber). Saying they’re still together when they aren’t  (wayne’s world). Loads of movies had the crazy ex sabotage new relationships, call constantly, stalk, and flirt despite the exes discomfort and repeatedly saying it’s over (despite the ex not loving them and just be possessive and not wanting them with other people).
The exes are cray in the films (el stalking and never apologizing for spying. And mileven dancing to the song ‘every breath you take’ a song about a stalker ex who doesn’t take no for an answer -after their ex hooks up with their friend, wasn’t a coincidence). Along with El watching ‘days of our lives’ where she mimicked erica who was in a relationship with Mike roy. And it ended messy with one of them sabotaging their new relationship, stalking them, and claiming the stalking victim still loved them. (Although, they eventually accepted that wasn’t true).
El  stalked Mike in s2 (all that stuff milevens found romantic- El watching him without him knowing. Mike said he was not ok with it in s3). And in s3 (like the song) she stalks him after their breakup, and when he said not to do that she just says ‘i make my own rules’. I think s4 shows just how ‘un-cute’ this behavior can get.
Tumblr media
I’ve already talked about that awkward kiss scene to death. But i think it indicates Mike assumes they’re broken up and el assumes they’re back together.
FIrst he  LIED AGAIN (the cause of the breakup)- and pretended he didn’t confess to her at the end of s3. And never said “ I love you’ back! He even tries to take the words back and  says about the prior love confession “ “Oh! Oh, yeah that.Man, that was so long ago. Um…”  and starts to scratch his head and says everything he said at the cabin was “in the heat of the moment stuff and we were arguing…”
They even frame the scene right before the kiss strangely, making El look larger and imposing, as she approaches. Mike feels cornered (you the viewer subconsciously are supposed to feel claustraphobic/trapped/cornered/stuck along with Mike).
Tumblr media
We see him furrow his brows (uncomfortable and confused ) when El initiates the romantic moment, saying “I love you too.”
Tumblr media
And cue most awkward kiss in history- where he keeps his eyes open the whole time and doesn’t kiss back. (In Will’s room, mike in front of an open closet, as el holds Will’s s1 bear.)
Tumblr media
During the kiss, the song ‘the first i love you ‘played. The only other time they played that song in s3,  was when Robin rejects Steve’s  romantic confession and she comes out as gay . Interesting choice for that awkward mileven kiss/confession shown later where El says she loves Mike (and mike keeps his eyes open, doesn’t kiss back or return the ‘I love you’). It’s foreshadowing of Mike rejecting El (in the future) cause he’s gay.
We even see El’s reaction first (happy, smiling and giddy). Assuming they’re back together. But then we blur the screen to see Mike’s opposing expression. He looks confused, bewildered and even furrows his brows again.
Tumblr media
Then we see El initiating all the romantic stuff outside.El seems to be the one trying to make it romantic- like Mike hugging el and lucas with one arm identically (hand on their upper back), but El caresses his chest.
Tumblr media
And as Mike stops the hug El shoves his head into hers (it actually looked like it hurt honestly XD)
Tumblr media
the byler centric ending with the Hopper monologue reinforces this theme. Mike while looking at both cars driving away was thinking of Will . They show this by having Mike be sad as Will drives away (alone) twice as Mike  sadly watches him leave- this was done to show that he’s actually upset the 2 later times where Will and El leave at the same time -because of Will. I showed it in one of my vids here, at 23:11
When we first see Mike during the Hopper monologue , it continues to pan to only Mike and Will (not El) cause what he says is mostly about them. “I’ve been feeling distant from you. Like you’re pulling away from me or something” (Will does this both figuratively/literally). I miss playing board games every night (d &d)”. Then Mike looks back at the Byers house (he just lingers there and looks back as his friends leave without him) like how Will turned to watch Mike leave and hold hands with El  (as the crew  go up the hill without Will).  “But I know you’re getting older, growing, changing. And I guess, if I’m being really honest, that’s what scares me. I don’t want things to change.”
Tumblr media
It pans to both of them on  “i don’t want things to change’ cause that’s how they both feel. Mike , ‘doesn’t want things things to change’. He doesn’t want their friendship to change as they ‘get older’ because he’d have to and acknowledge his feelings for Will are romantic and if he’s “being honest” that “scares” him (especially in rural 80s conservative-Indiana at the height of the aids epidemic).  Why we see Mike trying to act like a adult while dating El, and Will trying to act like a kid- they’re both trying to escape  growing up to be gay in different ways. Will reverting to childhood activities and saying he’ll ‘never fall in love’ (after his double date with lumax). And Mike trying to act like “old people’ saying “we’re not kids anymore... what did you expect that we’d never get girlfriends?” Cause he equates straight romance with being an adult and his feelings for Will as something he has to grow out of . Which he learns in the very end isn’t possible.
Right after that scene it switches from Will crying,  to Mike entering his house. His face is visibly red from crying and he looks shocked (almost as if he realized something) before he hugs his mom- to mirror the time he thought Will died in s1.
Tumblr media
And the dialogue in this scene says “So I think maybe that’s why I came in here, to try and maybe stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were.” He goes back to his mother for comfort, like he did the 1st time he lost Will. But also to reverse back time, to s1, before he realized his feelings for Will are romantic.  When things were simple. I think the last episode is when Mike truly realizes he’s been in love with Will this entire time and he can’t fix it and transfer his feelings for Will on to el (something he’s been trying to do all of s3). El said he loved him and he felt nothing-and he was heartbroken over Will leaving (not El). Which is why he just seems almost shocked/numb as he’s processing this fact. This whole scene only showed Mike and Will transitions- el was never there, cause Mike wasn’t upset over her.
In the last ep (in s3) Mike mirrors the scene in s1, hugging his mom, since he feels like he’s losing Will all over again. In s1 the romantic/queer coded lyric from the song ‘We can be heroes’ plays as he hugs his mom “And we kiss as though nothing could fall. And the shame.”. And during the s3 move  (‘we can be heroes’) plays again!  And David Bowie wrote this song and Jonathan even said to Will  in his ‘being a freak is the best speech’ “who would you rather be friends with David bowie (a queer singer) or Kenny Roggers?”
It’s why finn wolfhard after s3 liked this byler pic. cause s3 was all about Will and Mike denying their feelings for each other.
Tumblr media
Not to mention,After s1 Finn quoted the  Duffers saying Mike thought of El as a “puppy’ (dart) or “et” , and then said  Mileven was a  “first summer love thing”- foreshadowing mileven’s downfall during the Summer (aka s3). He repeats this “first summer love” phrase 2x.  Millie when he mentioned what the duffers said rightfully thought the puppy thing was “awful”, but Finn was clearly told mileven doesn’t last -very early on- and most likely the Duffers told him “it’s like a first summer love thing”.Summer love” by definition fails-as it only lasts during the summer.

a not-so brief analysis of possible deaths in s3
G’day mates! (I’ve been watching too many interviews with Dacre lmao). I’ve been wanting to make this post for awhile. I basically will go through each Stranger Things Season 3 main character’s chances of whether or not they will die - because we all know one of them will. Here it goes.
The Party
Mike - Mike has always been one of the leading protagonists of the show. He has been well received by pretty much everyone, having little or no haters. I think it is unlikely Mike will be the one to die because he is so important to the plot and the other characters’ (and fans’) emotional value. However, Finn Wolfhard is an incredibly busy young actor and ST’s shoots last months so he might want to clear his schedule. Also, Mike’s death would have a serious impact on the others, especially Will and Eleven. It might prove to be a strong force of motivation for whatever finale the show has.
Eleven - I honestly don't see how killing El would do anything other than break the hearts of fans all around the world. ST is said to have another two seasons after s3 and quite frankly the show just wouldn't be the same without her. I won’t be too worried about Eleven until the last season (and then I'll be terrified).
Lucas - Lucas has gotten a lot of unnecessary hate from the fandom because he didn’t trusts Mike’s judgement when the latter hid a strange girl with super powers in his basement without telling his parents. It’s easy to see this as stand-offish behavior, but Lucas is actually the reasonable one. Yes, he’s cautious, much more so than Mike or Dustin, but people seem to forget he goes and spies on the lab by himself, figures out they’re being watched, alerts his friends, and forgives Mike, all while persevering in his search for Will. Still, Lucas is most people’s least favorite party member. He would seem like a poor character to kill, because not many fans would care very much, even though everyone on screen would be devastated. Hopefully, after s3 Lucas gets the love and appreciation he deserves.
Max - Max is still pretty new to the show. She is well-loved by the fans and the characters on screen. Plus, her new friendship with El has everyone super pumped; their would be riots in the street if she was killed and that ended.
Dustin - Okay, but does anyone actually not like Dustin? He may not be everyone’s absolute favorite, but no one actively hates him. And why would they? He’s smart, quirky, adorably, nerdy, and provides the vast majority of the comedic relief. The show wouldn’t  be half as fun without him. The show writers know this too. I think Dustin’s pretty safe for now, at least from death (the end of the second trailer did NOT look good for him).
Will - Sweet, darling, innocent Will. Precious Will who’s never been given any sort of break from that goddamn writing team. Although I think Will is in for more (largely undeserved) pain and strife, I don't think he will bite the dust just yet.
The Teens
Nancy - Nancy is one of the primary female characters, as well as Mike’s older sister. She’s previously been through some real shit, lost her best friend, lost one boyfriend, gained another boyfriend, and will be struggling with misogyny in s3. Nancy has gained some haters, but they are often overlooked because her fans are fierce. I don’t think the Duffers or Netflix want an army of feminists showing up at their door because they killed off Nancy Wheeler. She is shown in mortal peril in the second trailer, and her death would greatly impact Jonathan, Mike, Steve, and the entire fandom. I personally think she will pull through, but it could really go either way.
Jonathan - Will’s only brother, Joyce’s support system, Nancy’s boyfriend, Jonathan has a lot on his shoulders. Not many people know him, but those who do love him dearly. His death would hugely impact many main characters, without damaging the plot. Yeah. This might not end well for Big Brother Byers . . .
Steve - Oh, Steve. We love Steve. Things were not looking good for everyone’s favorite babysitter/Single Mother Supreme after the first s3 trailer dropped. I would be seriously concerned, however one of the lead writers stated that the day Steve Harrington dies is the day he walks off the show. And, to the best of my knowledge, the writer is still signed on.
Robin - Robin is a completely new character. We have been given very little info on her whereabouts in the show. This has not stopped fans from immediately falling in love with her though. It is highly unlikely they would kill off such a new and popular character.
Billy - The new host of the mindflayer. Doesn’t sound too good, does it? But Will survived. Most people seem to think he’s doomed, but I personally believe he’ll make it out. Mentally fucked? Hell yeah. Dead? Not today.
Heather - . . .  let’s all take a preliminary moment of silence for Heather. Seems like she’ll be taking a page out of Barb’s book and dying before we even get fully introduced to her character.
The Adults
Hopper -  Hop appears to be in trouble. Fans are already speculating his death. It would be devastating, but . . . so many issues would be created. Where would El go? Probably the Byers. But who would deal with all the crazy Upside Down bullshit? That’s harder. David Harbour’s extreme commitment to the show acts like a shield protecting him from death.
Joyce - I think she’ll be fine. Worried, frazzled, constantly smoking like always, but she wouldn't die, would she? Will and Jonathan still need her. Plus, what would Stranger Things be without Winona Ryder?
Bruce - Following the B Name trend (Benny, Barb, Bob) he will most likely kick the bucket before the season’s finale. Very little has been revealed about his character, but I already kinda want him dead.
Murray - He’s fucking hilarious and I hope he's okay. I don’t know though. He helped expose the lab. That can’t sit well with some folks.
Mayor Kline - Still not sure what his point is. I really don’t know. He lives?
And also
Erica - She lives, or I’m suing. ’Nough said.
Phew. Long post. I think the Party’s safe for now, and the adults are probably fine for the time being as well. The teenagers all seem to get themselves into sticky situations and they can’t all be getting out safe, amiright?
Basically, in danger:
Mike
Nancy
Jonathan
Heather (RIP)
Hopper
Bruce
Murray
That’s all for now folks!

Song 101 - Finn x Reader
REQUEST: @cxxl-gall Can I get a Finn Wolfhard imagine where his band comes in a bit early to the studio while you’re just finishing up recording and when reader comes out he asks her to stay and listen to their stuff (so he can show off lmao) and to just hang out when he’s not playing and like watching the others play (bc they’re all talented blessss) and like he compliments her voice etc. Like proper cute and fluffy
NOTE: Yo yes I really enjoyed this one. I left it sort of open ended so I was thinking about maybe making it a series? LET ME KNOW IF THAT’S WHAT Y’ALL WANT!
The song I mention by The Tragically Hip can be heard here. The song Calpurnia is recording is this one!
PLOT: Calpurnia is using the recording studio after you and it turns out that Finn loves your music a little more than you though he could.
WORD COUNT: 1675
Recording was your favourite part of making an album. After your debut EP was released over a year and a half ago, you could not wait to get back into the studio. But before that, you had to write the music and collaborate with others which was a long process but it was totally worth it and you could really feel it in the studio. There were only two more songs that you needed to finish up before you were done. Today you had been working on your favourite song, one that was reminiscent of The Tragically Hip’s song Grace, Too. It was mellow bit still alternate rock.
You were in the middle of the final run when you noticed a small group enter the room just outside of the booth. You couldn’t quite make out who it was since you were trying to concentrate on your harmonies but once you had finished you removed your headphones and made your way out.
“Who’s our guests?” You asked at no one in particular to the room full of people.
The boy with the mop of black curly hair who was bent over a guitar case stood up and turned to you. “We’re Calpurnia.” He introduced. “I’m Finn- “
“Finn Wolfhard” You interrupted. “Yeah I’ve heard your guys play before!” You said.
Finn looked around at his other bandmates with a smile. “That’s awesome!” He exclaimed. “We’re fans of your work actually, Ayla won’t stop singing your songs”
“Your voice is amazing, you’ve got such a unique sound” Ayla said.
Your face turned into a great smile. “Wow thanks, that really means a lot” You said sincerely. You were still a small artist, so it really felt great to hear people say that they loved your music.
“We’re recording some new material today,” Finn said. “It’d be cool if you stayed and listened but uh, only if you wanted to, you don’t have to!” Finn stumbled, spitting out his words nervously.
You looked at your phone and checked the time. You didn’t have to be anywhere for a few hours so you figured you might as well hang around and listen. “Yeah sure, I’d love to” You smiled.
A huge grin came across Finn’s face and he nodded before moving around to get everything set up for their session.
Malcom was the first to record on the drums. They were recording their first original song during this session. It currently didn’t have an official name yet. Finn only referred to it as Song 101. While Malcom was recording, you were sat on the old purple couch outside of the booth watching everything going on inside. Finn came and plopped himself down next to you and started talking.
“So how did you get into music?” He asked right off the bat.
“Well my dad was a sound engineer, like one of the people who works on producing music sort of, and so he would always be playing all kinds of music around the house and I just sang along. My mom stuck me in piano lessons which I loathed but reluctantly did anyways. I wanted to take guitar but she said that piano was the base of understanding all instruments so I didn’t start guitar until I was like eleven I think.” You explained. Your music history wasn’t that interesting yet everyone wanted to know it.
Finn eyes were lit with excitement. “That’s so cool, I’m not great at piano, like I wish I was better but guitar is my thing.”
“It suits you,” You said. “Your voice is great too but the guitar makes the complete package.”
“You like my voice?” Finn asked.
You shrugged. “Yeah, you’ve got this cool indie rock persuasion sound which I totally dig.”
Finn’s already there grin slipped into a full smile. “Thanks, that means a lot” He said sincerely.
Before you two could talk more, Dan, the man in charge of recording, announced that Finn was needed in the booth. Finn looked at you with a look of excitement before pushing off the couch and picking up his guitar.
“Break a leg!” You encouraged and Finn let out a deep breath before pushing open the door and entering the booth.
“Let’s do vocals, yeah?” Dan said into the mic so Finn could hear. He nodded his head before Dan pressed some buttons so Finn could sing. You watched intently as Finn closed his eyes before starting.
“See you driving round town with a chip on your shoulder
Well it’s you who gets the last laugh after I call her
I feel cold, oh lord I feel cold.
I feel cold.” Finn sang.
Dan stopped to comment. “That sounded great. Let’s move on to the next part, okay?”
Finn nodded and Dan cued him again for singing. This time you noticed as Finn didn’t close his eyes as he sang. Instead he looked right at you.
“When I’m gone you’re there,
When I’m gone you’re here,
When I’m gone you’ll be older,
When I’m gone you’ll always be cold.
I feel cold, oh lord I feel cold. I feel cold.”
Finn sang with a look of both aspiration yet desperation at the same time. You could only wonder who he was singing to.
Nonetheless, he sounded great. He was able to move his voice around, creating a crisp sound that only he could. You’ve listened to Calpurnia before, once live at the Strange 80’s show. Their cover of Weezer’s El Scorcho was your favorite. You knew that this band was going to go far.
Caught up in your thoughts, you hadn’t noticed that Finn finished with the vocals and now Dan had him working on guitar. Now as you paid attention, you watched as Finn waited for Ayla to join him in the booth. Until she was ready Finn decided it was time to goof around.
First, he was trying to play with his opposite hand but the sound it was making was as atrocious as it was funny. Finn enjoyed seeing you laugh so he continued on. He swung his guitar behind his head and tried to play the chords without being able to see. He was actually pretty decent at this, something that can only be done with lots of practice. Finally, you watched as Finn attempted to play the chorus while only standing on one leg. By now you had already pulled your phone out and was snapchatting the whole experience. Finn was holding his balance pretty well before toppling over, guitar and all. At this point, Ayla was ready to go and Dan was not impressed but you were doubled over with laughter.
“Finn, please get up.” Dan said over the speaker before glancing back to you with a look.
Finn quickly jumped back up, adjusting his guitar to the right place. “Yep, sorry Dan.” He said with a nervous smile but as soon as Dan looked away, Finn was winking at you with a smirk.
Ayla and Finn worked together, strumming out the chords and swinging the melodies. You couldn’t help but stare at Finn as he played. On stage, he has such a persona that was completely different from what you were seeing. Here he was concentrating, rocking to the rhythm and letting it take over him as he played. It was a whole other Finn. And for some reason you felt lucky that you got to see it.
Soon enough, Finn’s time in the booth was over and he was walking back to you, slinging his guitar off his body and into its case.
“How did that sound?” Finn asked slightly out of breath.
“It sounded amazing.” You said. “You sounded amazing!” You added.
Finn blushed and sheepishly looked away. “Really?” He asked.
“Yeah! You’re like a whole other person in there, completely different from when I saw you on stage!” You explained.
“You’ve seen us live?” He asked with wide eyes.
You nodded with a grin.
“When?” He asked, hungry for your answers.
“Strange Eighties.” You said. “I know El Scorcho was an exception to the theme but you guys killed it! Best version I’ve ever heard, hands down” You added.
Finn looked like he was about to pass out. He threw himself down onto the couch beside you.
“No way!” He said astounded. “I’m going to need you to write that down for me because no one will believe me when I tell them that Y/N L/N likes my music!”
You laughed at the boy next to you and reached for a scrap piece of paper on the table nearby. “Okay sure” you said shaking your head. You quickly scribbled out the sentence you had just said and held it out to Finn.
He glanced at the paper before accepting it. “You should also write your number on that too” He said with a cheeky grin.
You leaned back into the couch and crossed your arms still holding the paper in your hand. “Are you asking me out Finn Wolfhard?” You raised an eyebrow smirking back.
Finn blushed but didn’t give up. “Well technically I am asking for your number, but since you seem so willing I guess I could ask you out as well.”
You uncrossed your arms and started to write your number on the scrap paper. “Okay, but I’ll only say yes if there’s ice cream involved.” You stated with a smile.
You held out the paper for Finn and this time he took it from you. “Are you serious?” he asked with wide eyes. You looked at him with confusing face. “You’ll actually go out with me?”
You nodded your head while tucking your hair behind your ear. “Yeah, of course.” You smiled.
“Fuck yeah” Finn said, excitement all over.
From across the room Jack piped up. “Swear jar, Finn.” He said in a monotone voice. He must have to say it often.
Finn reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out a quarter. “It was worth it” he said as he threw the coin over to his bandmate.

IT (2017)
Directed by Andy Muchietti, this movie is my favorite movie of 2017. I'm a huge horror nerd, as of lately, and this movie really hit a nerve within me that made each viewing of this movie brand new. Stephen King is a mastermind, and this is probably his most thought out and imaginative of his works that I'm familiar with. I've never read the behemoth of a novel that is IT, but my boyfriend has listened to it and has told me all the difference between the book and the movie and honestly, this remake is pretty true to the book. I love that. So without further ado, let's get started.
Tumblr media
This story starts out on a rainy day with the most melancholic piano medley I could possibly imagine. Like, the mom couldn't have picked a more upbeat song to play? It's raining, you have two sons, it's the 80s, play some fucking Ray Charles or something. Bill and Georgie are upstairs making a paper boat. It's adorable because Georgie keeps calling the boat a "him" and Bill keeps correcting him. In my mind, Bill is such a feminist. Bill is sick and doesn't want to go out into the rain to play with Georgie so he takes a literal rain check and sends his little tiny brother out into the world to play all by himself while his mom is still playing that scary ass song on the piano and basically doesn't notice that her son is out in the rain all by himself. DISCLAIMER: FUCK THE PARENTS IN DERRY. So of course like any young lad would, he loses control of his boat and surprise it goes into a storm drain. Unlike every other kid in the goddamn world, Georgie looks into the drain to try and save the boat. Now, who shows up out of thin air? IT aka Pennywise the DANCING clown ahahahahah. Look, yes it's terrifying that a clown just appeared in a storm drain but this clown is played by the not so surprisingly talented Bill Skarsgard. Now, if you're like me, you spend the majority of your adolescence being obsessed with Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman in True Blood. So, when I found out his little brother was gonna play one of the most iconic roles in horror history, I was stoked. Talent runs in the veins of all the Skarsgard's who have turned into this generations Barrymore's. SOOOO now Pennywise has been introduced and he's scary as hell. He's drooling, he's smiling all sinister like, and asking Georgie if he can smell the popcorn. I feel like that is strike number 2 on Georgie's part cause even as a kid, you know that popcorn doesn't belong in a fucking storm drain. So, Pennywise is all I HAVE YOUR BOAT and Georgie is all YEAAHH GIVE IT TO ME and Pennywise is like TAKE. IT. (honestly a great line I repeat all the time) an so little naive baby Georgie reaches in and gets his goddamn arm bitten off by an inter-dimensional being dressed as a clown. But see, my biggest issue with this scene isn't Georgie's complete lack of stranger danger that was pounded into my being as a kid, but it's this goddamn old bitch lady who is outside the ENTIRE TIME Georgie is talking to a clown in a storm drain. This bitch sees a young boy talking to a storm drain and shrugs it off. And it's raining, so apparently the sound of the pouring rain is supposed to drown out the noise of Georgie screaming while crawling in the street without an arm? BULLSHIT. This bitch and her dumbass cat do NOTHING and I blame her for every missing kid in Derry. (If some of you reading this have read the book, you completely understand why the elders of Derry are such assholes, but that doesn't make me any less pissed off that all of them are fucking idiots.)
Ok, so now it's the end of the school year. Bill and his bffs Richie, Eddie, and Stanley have officially left their last class of the day and are excited to start summer vacation before the 8th grade. This is my favorite cause these children actors are the best part of this movie. Bill is played by Jaeden Lieberher who is so convincing as Bill that I legit thought he stuttered in real life. Eddie is played by the charismatic and humorous as fuck Jack Dylan Grazer. Stanley is played Wyatt Oleff, who is a very good voice of reason for dumb teenage boys. But the best character and best actor in this movie is Finn Wolfhard who plays Richie. And maybe I'm biased because I'm a die hard Stranger Things fan, but seriously, Richie is a scene stealing character who can only be played by someone as engaging as Finn. Literally, couldn't love a group of actors more than the ones who play the kids in this movie. All of them, pure perfection, nailed their performances, and were the light in such a dark story. So moving on, while the boys are being boys and talking about their private parts and the other missing children of Derry cause yeah, it's totally normal for a town to always have missing kids. So the other main antagonist besides all the adults in this town and Pennywise, is this bully named Henry Bowers and his goons. Now, bear with me here, but this movie would be nothing without Henry. He's your typical small town bully who just pulls backpacks and bless his heart, gave Bill the year off of being bullied since he lost his little brother. But now that the school year is over, Bill is fair game again. Henry's father is the town's sheriff, so there's a sense of "my father is an asshole and all hyper masculine and I have big shoes to fill" blah blah blah bully shit. So after we see the losers get picked on we are then introduced to the CUTE AS FUCK Ben. Ben is played by a boy named Jeremy Ray Taylor and this kid has got such a bright future. I wanna hug and mentor and hang out with this kid so bad. So Ben is the New Kid on the Block who you guessed it, listens to New Kids on the Block. He is approached by Beverly Marsh, who earlier was being bullied herself by the female version of Henry Bowers who honestly isn't super important and I'm not gonna waste any more time writing about her right now. Beverly puts her charm on 10 here and signs Ben's yearbook after finding out no one else did. She gives him shit for listening to NKOTB, which HEY NKOTB is a national treasure and how dare anyone make fun of anyone for listening to them. Ben then walks home with his headphones dragging behind his bike cause he's so enamored by Beverly and it's just CUTE.
Then we meet Mike Hanlon, who we actually probably meet before the last of school. He works on a farm with his grandpa and theres a scene where he has to kill a sheep but can't do it, cause he has HUMANITY! Mike makes deliveries into town and that's where we see him next. He goes into an alley behind the butcher, only for Pennywise to get his kicks. It starts with Mike seeing smoke come out from the door and then burned hands start trying to open the door fully but can't. Then the door is thrown open and there's a silhouette of a clown in chains trying to escape only to STAND THE FUCK UP AND STARE AT MIKE WHILE HIS EYES GLOW. Mike just fucking stands there staring back like RUNNNNN MIKE!!!!!! Thankfully, maybe not, but Henry Bowers and friends pull up and scream at Mike to leave their town and throw their cigarettes at him, but when Mike looks back into the door only the butcher is there asking if he is alright. It's a short scene but by god if I don't scream my little heart out for Mike every single time I watch it.
Tumblr media
So now the kiddos, Stanley, Bill, Eddie, and Richie, are all down at the Barren's to try to find where Georgie went missing. Eddie, the hypochondriac, is complaining about the piss water that they are standing in and refuses to go in. Richie makes fun of him and it's honestly, hilarious. I'm gonna use that word a lot. Even though this is a horror movie, it's actually one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. And not in a it's funny because it's so cheesy, it's funny because it's young teenage kids being scared and dealing with that fear by undercutting it with humor. GOD I JUST LOVE IT! Anyways, during this time, Ben is in the library being a little bookworm. The librarian kind of gives him shit for not having friends and he should be playing outside which is bullshit since basically every older woman I've ever met as a kid was always like "you kids need to calm down" and "you should read more" blah blah blah. It just seems like every generation has a problem with a younger generation and honestly, fuck that but that's a conversation for another time. So, Ben starts reading about the history of Derry which is HORRIBLE! There was a huge fire on Easter which killed a bunch of children and he sees pictures of children's heads in trees like, fucked up shit. AND while he is reading all of this, there's another old bitch standing behind him, almost off screen, STARING AT HIM THE WHOLE TIME. The first time we saw this in theaters, David pointed this out to me and I was like "that's creepy" and the more I see this scene, the more it freaks me out. Some people overlooked this part, but it's probably the scariest part of the movie. So now that Ben has unlocked the town's secrets, he is lured to the basement by Easter eggs that are smoking. Down in the archives, he sees someone walking down the stairs and guess what it is? A HEADLESS CHILD cause if children weren't already scary enough, let's just not give them heads, right??? This headless bitch chases him through the archives and then you hear my second favorite line of the entire movie. Whispered is, "HEY EGGBOY." And Ben turns around to find Pennywise chasing him. Ben runs into the old librarian, and then runs away crying and of course, she doesn't ask what is wrong. Poor Ben just can't catch a break cause once he gets outside the library, Henry is waiting for him. The boy band take the sad, scared Ben out to a bridge where Henry says he's gonna carve his name into Ben's stomach, which is so fucked up, but so totally Stephen King, I get it. Of course, adults drive by while Ben is screaming for help and they don't do anything and it makes me want to cut their break lines but whatever. Ben totally escapes though, but not before having an H carved into his little squishy belly, and follows the creek to the Barrens where he finds the other boys. The boys being perfect take Ben back into town to try to clean him up. While they are doing that, Henry and his back up singers are searching for Ben in the Barrens. One of the goons, Patrick, goes into the sewers with a lighter and hairspray, only to find all the dead kids that Pennywise has eaten and then died himself which thank fuck. One down, three more to go.
Tumblr media
While Ben is bleeding in an alley, Eddie is complaining about medical questions while Richie won't stop talking about penis'. They run into a pharmacy to get stuff for Ben only to realize they don't have enough money so in walks sweet Beverly who is scared to buy tampons for the first time. She flirts with the old gross man behind the counter and knocks over a tray of something so the boys can run out of the store with their shit. She also grabs a pack of cigarettes for herself cause she's amazing and should be my best friend. The boys thank her, and she becomes "one of the boys." Her home life though, guys. It's horrible. Her father is grade A creep status and is all mad that she is buying tampons cause he wants her to stay his little girl forever and she gets all emotional and cuts off all her hair in retaliation. So, the next day, all the boys are at some cliff about to jump off it into the lake below but are all being chicken about. Beverly comes through in new hair do and jumps off the cliff, showing all the boys up, while Richie yells "FUCKING HELL" and it's comical and amazing and you're lying if you don't think Beverly Marsh is the coolest girl you've ever seen. She also looks EXACTLY like Amy Adams, if Amy was 13. The kids have a fun day in the lake, playing chicken, being young teenagers. Ben then brings up the history of Derry and brings the kids back to his rooms which is covered in old pages of books with old pictures and maps about Derry. There's also a huge NKOTB poster on the back of his door that only Beverly notices. Ben describes the history of Derry to the kids, which is every 27 years a bunch of random kids go missing and no one does anything about it!
Now, each kid has a run in with Pennywise in their own way. And I'm totally going out of order with this movie cause I'm writing this just based off my memory, but somewhere in the beginning we see Stanley trying to memorize stuff in Hebrew. He isn't doing too well so his dad makes him put the book back in his office and go home. In his father's office there’s a scary painting of a woman with a weird shaped head. Stanley doesn't like it, and it falls off the wall. When he puts it back on the wall, the woman is gone. He turns around the woman is standing like 10 feet taller than him and starts to chase him. So, we know that Stanley's fear is definitely this strange painting woman. Ben's is headless kids. Mike's is people burning in a fire, cause we do learn at some point that his parents died in a fire and he tried to save them but he couldn't and that plagues him. Beverly's scene is when she is in the bathroom by herself and she hears voices coming from her sink drain so instead of running the fuck out of the bathroom she grabs her dad's tape measure and pushes it down the drain only for it to come up with blood and hair that then wraps itself around her and sprays blood all over her and the bathroom. When her screams lure her dad into the room, he doesn't see the blood and she's freaking out. I'm assuming that means her fear is blood...but maybe it's just voices of dead kids. So then Eddie is walking home by himself one afternoon and it's his pill time, cause his mom is an overbearing homebody who makes him take pills for everything. He drops his pills because he is walking past a house that is run down and looks scary but has really cute sunflowers in the front yard that make it look kinda kitschy. When he is picking up his pills, he notices a hand helping him and looks up to find basically a zombie leper staring at him. He runs into the front yard of the scary house and is about to leave through a hole in the fence when he notices that a clown is standing with a bunch of balloons by the house. Pennywise shows his face and asks Eddie to play with him, saying the infamous "We all float down here!" Eddie is beyond traumatized and runs screaming through the fence. Eddie's fear being germs and being sick.
Tumblr media
So the kids are riding their bikes through the town and notice an abandoned bike off the side of the road next to Henry Bowers' car. They recognize it as Mike's bike and go down to the quarry to find him. Henry and the remaining living boy banders are beating up Mike when Henry gets hit in the head with a rock that we see is thrown by none other than the Queen herself, Beverly fucking Marsh. Richie screams "ROCK WAR" and it starts a very comedic scene of all the youngsters throwing rocks at each other while saving Mike in the process. This then completes the Losers Club: Bill, Richie, Eddie, Stanley, Beverly, Ben, and Mike. MY DREAM TEAM HONESTLY! The most badass group of kids ever besides the Hawkins kids in Stranger Things. They go to Bill's garage where he has slides of the maps of the sewer systems of Derry. The kids are sitting in the dark looking at maps when all of a sudden, the slides start moving on their own and of course Pennywise pops out and terrorizes the kids and audience members by being 17 feet tall. The kids scream and cry until Mike opens the garage door and instead of fleeing for their lives and never talking to each other again like I would have done as a scared teenager, they fucking go to the old abandoned house where the well that connects all the sewers is located. Once there, Bill, Eddie, and Richie go inside the house after Bill gives a huge speech about not being afraid of monsters cause real life is more terrifying than any of that which he didn't stutter at all during and I'm such a proud older sister to all these kids, but especially Bill in that moment. Richie finds a missing kid poster that has his face on it and freaks out, rightfully so. The other boys calm him down and they move on. Eddie gets separated, Bill and Richie are locked in a room with black goop coming out from an old mattress and then Richie gets locked in a room full of clown statues only to have Pennywise jump out and scare him but Bill saves him in time. Pennywise then goes to scare Eddie who passed out from fear and fell through  hole in the ground and landed on a table and broke his arm. He comes out of a fridge and rubs Eddie's face in the style of Heath Ledger's Joker. He's then distracted by Bill and Richie who has escaped their room full of fears above and are screaming for Eddie. They find Eddie underneath Pennywise and of course, freak out. But then, here comes my true savior, Beverly takes an old pipe and enters through the back door and stabs Pennywise in the fucking FACE! GIRL YAAAASSSSS!!!! She's terrified but she saves the day. Richie then tries to pop Eddie's arm back into place which then breaks it even more than it already is and it's a very comical part of such a scary scene. Of course Eddie's mom flips a tit and doesn't let Eddie hang out with the crew anymore. The Losers Club kind of disbands for a bit after Bill and Richie get into a fight about how dangerous all this is. Bill wants to keep going cause the closer he gets to figuring all this out, the closer her gets to finding out what happened to Georgie. Everyone ends up leaving Bill, except Beverly but even then they part ways for a little bit.
Tumblr media
When Bill has his Pennywise encounter which is totally before all of the stuff I just wrote, he sees a ghost of Georgie running through his house and then into the basement. He follows him down there only for Pennywise to come out of the water and try to grab him which he gets really close to doing but Bill is fast. NOW, while everyone is doing their own shit, Bill goes over to Beverly's house only to find out that she has been taken by Pennywise. Now, before she was kidnapped, her father was being a real fucking douche bag. He was mad at her for hanging out with boys and was chasing her though their house. She hid behind the shower curtain with the top of a toilet and smacked him over the head and killed him. My angel. Immediately after that, Pennywise took her. So, Bill has to save her. He calls everyone to tell them watch happened and they all meet back at the weird house to go down the well. So, during this time Eddie has realized that his mom was giving him placebo pills. He calls her out on him but he says, and I fucking quote this straight from the movie guys, "They're GAZEBOS. They're BULLSHIT!" And if you have a heart, Eddie becomes the world's best character right in that moment. He also had the bully bitch who was bulling Beverly in the beginning sign his cast and she wrote LOSER in big ass black letters. He then wrote over the S and put a big V on it so it would say LOVER instead. So cute. So pure. Eddie forever.
Tumblr media
Now, we're at the climax. (I've skipped a lot of little details because if I didn't this post would be too long.) The boys all get into hero mode while going down this sketchy ass well. Mike is the last one to go down but is stopped by Henry fucking Bowers, who previously to this was targeted by Pennywise but not in a scare to death kind of way, in a recruitment way. Pennywise gave Henry his father's knife to kill his father and then brainwashed him into killing everyone else. He even kills his friends in a deleted scene, fun fact. So Henry, all jacked up on killer clown rage, is trying to kill Mike with a gun that's used to killing sheep by shooting a really big like screw-like bolt into their head. Mike, being the hero we all know he can be, throws Henry off of him and pushes him down the well! YAYAYAYAYAYAY! All while the boys are stuck in the well screaming for Mike. But, good prevails and they all go into the sewers only to lose Stanley who has wandered off cause he hears a woman's voice and thinks it's Beverly but alas it's not! It's that skewed bitch from the painting who wraps her whole mouth around his face and starts to suck. Mike shoots something at the creature and it slinks away into the tunnels as Pennywise. Stanley throws a fit cause his friend's ditched him which they DID NOT HE LEFT THEM but still, he was just getting his face sucked by a monster so he is totally ok to have a meltdown. Bill then sees Georgie in the tunnels and goes running after him who then leads him to where Beverly is. Beverly is where all the dead floating kids are. The boys pull her down before she can truly float and they don't know how to wake her up but Ben steps in and kisses her and IT WORKS! So now all the kids are confronted by Pennywise, who takes Bill and says they can all escape if they leave Bill. Bill begs them to leave but Richie refuses and says "...now I have to kill this fucking clown." So all the kids grab blunt objects and start beating the FUUUUCK out of Pennywise. Pennywise then turns into Georgie and Bill takes that bolt gun thing and shoots him in the fucking forehead, which causes Pennywise to change back into clown form and slink even further into the abyss. THE KIDS PREVAILED! SUCH STRONG ROLEMODLES!!!!!
Tumblr media
The end of the movie is the entire Losers Club standing in a field promising each other that if IT ever comes back, they will fight it and kill it for good. They take a blood oath and one by one they all start to leave. Beverly and Bill are the last two and they share a cute, albeit gross as fucking moment by sharing a kiss. It's gross to me cause Beverly has blood all over her hand and she grabs Bill's face and her blood is all over his face it's fucking nasty. But everything is ok at the end, but you know that's only CHAPTER 1!
Tumblr media
So, as far as IT goes, it's my favorite because I love the kids in it. The kids are incredible actors. They have the perfect balance of humor and horror and it's not over the top for either of them. The director really let the kids bond before filming and it shows. They are real friends so that friendship perfectly crosses over to the screen. I remember being 12-13, friendship was the most important thing to me. I would have done anything to save my friends from a monster. This story gives life to characters who are damaged and real. Stephen King hit it on the fucking nail with these characters. I'm so happy this movie this exists because it's just the beginning. Chapter 2 is about how IT comes back when these characters are adults, and I can't wait until that movie. If I could cast the adult versions, Patrick Wilson would be Bill, Chris Pratt would be Ben, Amy Adams would be Beverly, Bill Hader would be Richie, and I honestly don't know who would play Eddie or Stanley, but I think that Chadwick Boseman should play Mike. That would be the dream. If you also enjoyed this movie, I'd love to hear who you would like to see cast in Chapter 2 and also hear your opinions on it as well!
AGAIN NONE OF THESE PICTURES ARE MINE. I DO NOT CLAIM CREDIT FOR THEM.

Not Too Hot About It (Auston Matthews)
Anonymous said: Hi! Can you do an Auston Matthews one where he's got an irrational fear of something (heights, oceans, you pick!) but he has to face it for some reason and the reader is there for him and helps him through it? Thanks!
Word Count: 1794
Author’s note: With the release of It, I decided to kind of tie it into this story, since they filmed the movie in Toronto. With that being said, if you’re scared of clowns, you pry shouldn’t read this. I didn’t make it graphic or anything, just a guy walking around dressed as a clown.
Tumblr media
You had never thought you were the type of person to be in a movie. Sure, you had acted in a play or two in high school, but acting professionally was for people who were actually good, and for people who were actually committed to acting. Since you just liked acting as a hobby, you figured your days of learning lines ended when you graduated.
After being coerced by a group of your friends into going to the open auditions for the new adaptation of It, you were thrust back into acting when you got cast as Richie Tozier’s older sister. This being a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you really had no other option in mind than to accept the role.
The decision would have been a little different if you had known that Auston was terrified of clowns.
When you called Auston after learning you got the role, you were ecstatic. Auston, although excited that you were going to be in a movie, almost threw up when he found out which movie you were going to be in. Not wanting to spoil your success and happiness, he shoved his feelings to the side in order to support you just as much as you supported him.
Thankfully, you never sent him any pictures or videos of that damn clown, explaining to Auston that Andy, the director, wanted to keep the fear as natural as possible by not allowing Bill Skarsgård to be on set dressed as the clown unless he was filming a scene. Instead, Auston’s phone was full of shots of you ‘mothering’ the young actors and videos of the cast goofing off.
Although Auston was very supportive of you, you wanted him to come to set and see you in action. While he was busy with hockey most of the time, he wasn’t busy all of the time. Mitch, Willy, Matt and Sydney had all managed to find time to come out and check out the set, your young castmates being in awe of your ‘adult’ friends.
“So, we’re filming the scene at the Neibolt House tomorrow.” You bring up to Auston while you’re driving with him to go out to dinner with some of your friends. Auston makes a noise of acknowledgement without taking his eyes off of the road. “You don’t have practice until three tomorrow, and my call-time is eight in the morning.” You hint. Auston sighs and runs a hand through his hair.
“And you want me to come to the set with you tomorrow?”
“Well aren’t you smart.” You’re both silent for a minute, the grin on your face slowly dimming as time passes. “Will you?”
“Will I what?” Auston responds. You huff and slip your hand away from the one that Auston doesn’t have on the wheel.
“Will you come to set with me tomorrow?” You ask.
“I don’t-”
“Auston.” You snap. His eyes flicker from the road to you, seeing the expression on your face. “I don’t understand what you have against seeing me at my job. I love you, and I am at every single home game. I stock up the kitchen so the other rookies don’t starve, I have insane amounts of ice in the house for ice packs and ice baths, and I wash your gross hockey gear.” Even though this is a serious conversation, you can’t help the slight smile on your face as Auston nods.
“And you know I appreciate all of that very much.”
“Then why can’t you put in as much effort as I do?” You say bluntly. “A relationship is supposed to be both people putting in equal amounts of effort, but lately it feels like I’m putting in a hell of a lot more than you are. If there’s something bothering you about this, just tell me-”
“There’s nothing bothering me!” Even though you guys tell each other everything, the idea of letting you know just how terrifying something as dumb as a clown is to Auston seems unfathomable. “There’s nothing bothering me, (Y/N).” Auston reiterates. “I’m not going to promise that I can be there for too long, but I’ll go with you tomorrow.”
“Really?” You gasp, a grin on your face. Auston nods.
“Really.”
“Fantastic! Because I promised the kids that they would get to meet you before we wrap.” You trail off.
“Meeting Mitch and Willy wasn’t enough for them?” Auston asks.
“For some reason, they all really want to meet you. Can’t say that I see why they do, though.” Auston looks at you, a look of faux shock on his face.
“How rude, (Y/N)! Shouldn’t you be nice to the person buying you drinks tonight?”
“I think we’re a little past that point in our relationship, babe.” Auston slows to a stop in front of the bar, turning the car off as you lay your head on his shoulder. “Thank you. I don’t think you know how much this means to me.”
“I’d do anything for you.” He mutters, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Now let’s go inside. I’m sure Matt and Freddie are already trying to outdrink each other.”
You’re nearly bouncing in your seat with excitement as you drive yourself and Auston to the studio the next morning, excitedly flashing your pass to security.
“Good morning, Anne!” You chirp, sending the security guard a friendly wave.
“Morning, (Y/N).” The woman shoots you and Auston a smile as you pull forward, driving to the makeup trailer to get ready for the day. You eagerly jump out of the car, ready to show the set to Auston (or show Auston off, same difference), but stop when he hesitates.
“What’s wrong?” You ask upon seeing the pale look on his face.
“Is...is the clown going to be in there?” You shake your head slowly.
“No, Bill has such complicated makeup that he has a completely different trailer. Why, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Nothing at all.” Auston shoots you a small smile as you look at him warily before gesturing for him to follow you.
The next half hour passes by in a blur of excited squeals from younger castmates upon meeting your boyfriend. Auston’s cheeks are flushed from the attention he receives, something that you know he’ll probably never get used to.
“Can we take a group picture?” Finn Wolfhard, your ‘little brother,’ asks. Auston nods.
“Of course!”
“Cool! I’ll go get Bill, he’d be pissed if he didn’t get to meet you.” Jack Grazer races off, not noticing the less-than-satisfied look on Auston’s face. Auston pulls you to the side of the group as you smile at him.
“Thank you so much for this. I know that the kids have been kind of crazy-”
“No, they’re great! You know this is my favorite part of being a hockey player. It’s just that, (Y/N), there’s something that I haven’t told you before…” Your brows furrow as you lean closer to Auston, trying to give him some sense of privacy so that he can feel comfortable telling you whatever it is he’s hiding. Before he can speak, however, the door of the trailer bursts open, Jack walking in, followed by the towering figure of Bill Skarsgård. He doesn’t have his wig or costume on, but his makeup is frighteningly complete as he shoots a sheepish grin to Andy Musichetti.
“Sorry for breaking your rule, but I figured that this would be excusable.” Bill turns to Auston, a huge (admittedly creepy) smile on his face. “Hey man, it’s great to meet you, I’m a huge fan.” Auston smiles tightly, tentatively gripping Bill’s outstretched hand.
“(Y/N), babe, can I speak to you outside for a moment?” You nod, grabbing Auston’s arm and dragging him outside.
“What’s wrong?” You ask once the door closes.
“You told me I wouldn’t have to see him!” Auston hisses.
“Who? The clown?” Auston nods.
“Yes! The fucking clown!” You’re confused for a moment before realization dawns.
“Auston, are you scared of clowns?”
“You can’t tell anyone, okay? The guys on the team will kill me if they find out I’m scared of clowns.” You chuckle lightly and stand on your tiptoes, kissing his cheek as he avoids your gaze.
“Auston, it’s okay to be scared of clowns. So many people are scared of clowns; it’s perfectly normal! Besides, Bill’s a really nice guy. If there’s ever a guy dressed as a clown that you want to meet, it’s Bill.” Auston sighs and sits on one of the steps leading up to the trailer.
“I know it’s a dumb fear. I’m a nineteen year old man who’s scared of people wearing mime makeup and bright outfits.” You shrug.
“Fear often doesn’t make any sense, Aus. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, all we know is that it scares the hell out of us. And yet, we keep going, even when we’re scared out of our minds.” Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Auston smirk and nod slightly as you take a seat next to him.
“You supposed to be an actress or a philosopher?”
“Neither; I’m supposed to be a college student who’s dating a really nice guy who, it turns out, is human.” You lay a hand on his knee, Auston laying his own hand on top of yours. “It’s fine to be scared. Just know that I’ll always be with you to face your fears, just like I know you’ll be there to help me face mine.” Auston leans in to kiss you, but you both jump at the sound of your younger castmates hooting and making kissing noises.
“You would think that wouldn’t phase us now. This definitely isn’t our first date.” You laugh and kiss Auston, ignoring the kids’ shouts.
“C’mon, let’s get this picture over with so you can get out of here.” Auston shakes his head.
“What makes you think I wanna leave? I haven’t even got to see you act yet. You say that you’re so bad at it, I want actual confirmation that you’re as good as I think you are.” You grin and throw your arms around Auston.
“You’re the best! Thank you so much for sticking around!”
“Relationships are all about giving equal amounts of effort. You’re there for me with my weird hours and busy schedule, the least I can do is suck up having to stare at that fucking clown for a few hours so that I can watch my amazingly talented girlfriend do what she loves.” Auston opens up the door of the trailer and lets you in first. As you all pose for a group picture, you make a mental reminder to tell Bill to take it easy on the spook factor between takes. Anything to help Auston.

TWD MidSeason Thoughts
Now that I've calmed down a bit, let me just explain WHY I'm so fucking infuriated.
I'm not just mad at this show. I'm mad at myself!
I know... I KNOW better than to fall for the hype announcement for shows. I have studied how networks like AMC operate. I went to school for theatre and cinema. I studied that shit. I GET how it all works. I understand having a hype man for the shows. Hype sells if you do it right.
The Walking Dead is one of the BIGGEST and most POPULAR shows on TV besides Game of Thrones and Outlander and Supernatural to name a few. It exploded onto TV and has been in the top 20s almost every year since 2010.
Since 2010, they've been hyping the show in one way or another.
I KNOW how this shit works... So you can understand WHY I'm mad at myself FOR FALLING for their fucking "stay tuned and be completely shocked" bullshit hype they threw at us the last two episodes.
I have been watching this show since 2010. Yes, I stopped watching for awhile, but it didn't take me long to get back and catch up again. I know its patterns. I know it's shtick. I know what makes people like it and hate it. I know this shit!
So since I know this shit, I SHOULD NOT BE AS PISSED OFF AS I AM RIGHT NOW.
It's not even about the fact that they're killing Carl off. I am not mad at that and in fact, I get it.
Chandler Riggs is a child actor and we all know - whether you're invested in television history or not - that being a child-star actor and growing up IS HARD. Being a kid on TV is hard. You hardly hear of any child star that didn't go through some real tough shit as they were growing up.
Want an example of some shit these kids go through? Look at all the weird sexual comments around Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. Want to hear about some shit? Go listen to Lindsay Lohan / look at the shit she went through, or check out Macauley Culkin's stories, or fuck check out all the shit that happened to Gary Coleman! Growing up with a constant fucking camera surrounding you isn't all fun and laughter and games. You're literally under a microscope and have millions upon millions of fuckers watching your every mood and judging you like a science project. It's insane. Even older celebrities struggle with this shit.
Chandler is young. He's just graduated High School. Since he was 9/10 years old, Chandler has been a familiar name and face for every fan of TWD or anyone that picks up a magazine and sees a group photo on it.
The problem with being a child star is the fact that everyone will always see him as that one role. Chandler could've survived through the show until he was like thirty (dear god if the show ran that long...) and then tried to get new work and you know what he'd be known as? Carl Grimes. Not Chandler Riggs the actor. Carl Grimes. Baby-faced, runs away a lot, lost his eye... Carl Grimes.
So Chandler leaving now - IF THIS IS BY HIS CHOICE - isn't a bad idea. Chandler deserves to be able to go to college and experience things at his age he probably didn't really get to do because of being under the spotlight so much. He deserves to be able to try growing up and expanding his acting career. I can respect an actor for wanting to do that. I can respect a kid - a teenager/young adult - wanting to step away and try new things and experience life.
Now if Chandler was just killed off for shock value and didn't WANT to leave the show, then still this isn't bad for him. He can still have a chance. Other actors on the show - the bigger names at least - have been doing alright for themselves. Yeah some of them are not hitting big roles every year and yeah some of them have stepped away from acting for awhile, but they're doing okay. And Chandler was a large main cast member. One of the remaining Atlanta group members (which now it's the Atlanta three, which just doesn't sound as good as Atlanta five then... Sigh). He's got a chance to be a young man and then hone his skill and try jumping into it again. I got faith he can do that.
So I'm not upset that Carl is going to die because... This show has stakes. A favorite character must and will die. Unless you're the real cash cow and favorite *cough*Norman*cough**cough* you can die at any time (That's not me making a mean jab at Norman, by the way, that's just stating what we all know). I'm not upset about him being bitten.
WHAT I'm upset about is that I fucking BELIEVED that this show was going to give me something to ACTUALLY be surprised about. Carl getting bit IS STILL the equivalence of SOMEONE DYING! For fuck sakes, we all know that a scratch or bite from a walker MEANS DEATH. We established that right away with Morgan in episode one. You get bit or scratched up, there's no surviving and coming back. You're fucked.
THAT IS STILL THE SAME AS A MAIN CHARACTER BEING SHOT DOWN OR HEAD CUT OFF OR HEAD BASHED IN BY AN ASSHOLE WITH A FUCKING BAT!
THAT is why I'm mad. I'm mad because I was not "shocked". I was not "in disbelief". I'm FURIOUS and EXASPERATED and ANNOYED.
Sudden death or sudden shot to a character ISN'T SHOCKING ANYMORE ON THIS SHOW.
The only time I have been shocked by a character death was Beth Greene, Denise Cloyd (The way she died shocked me more than her dying), Olivia (that one angered me too though), and fucking Axel in S3. Those are the only times I have ever been shocked by a character dying when they weren't turned into a Walker. Fuck not even Shane or Sophia or Hershel or Glenn and Abraham dying shocked me. I was like "okay here we go" and moved on (Sophia did upset me though because I was hoping they'd find her alive).
I was hoping to see something amazing. Like the Oceanside coming to the rescue (Enid kinda killed that for me), seeing Heath again (okay that wouldn't be too shocking but it would've been better), the Scavengers deciding to stick with Rick and fight the Saviors, or fuck someone we thought dead showing up and causing fuckery for Negan! I don't know! I just was expecting something along those lines or more.
I'm sick and tired and bored of characters just being killed off during midseason finales or the finales in general. I am done with it. That isn't good writing anymore. I took fucking scriptwriting. I MAJORED in scriptwriting. What just happened tonight was bulllllshhhiiitt.
I'm annoyed. I'm still gonna watch the next half and I'm still gonna stay with the show. But my respect for it has dropped down to almost nothing at this point. I'm just... I'm angry. I'm so angry.

IT (2017): For a movie with a clown, it was pretty funny.
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a movie review (about 4 months, it seems), but I’ve been a little busy with trying to balance everything that the adult life brings. Speaking of which, let’s discuss a little movie that tackles the issue of growing up and facing your fears.
IT, a movie that I hate the title of, is a horror movie directed by Andres Muschietti that is based on a book by Corgi-owner Stephen King. If you don’t know who Andres Muschietti is, then you’re a-okay because this is literally one of two films that he has ever directed. If you don’t know who Stephen King is, chances are you’re living under a rock or forgot his name. Why am I pointing these out? Because these are two of the only things of significance for this film. This movie really brings absolutely nothing new to the horror genre, nor does it bring anything significant to film-making in general. The only impressive part about it is the fact that they apparently strapped a GoPro to Pennywise’s head and had him run forward to make it seem like he’s “popping out” at you.
Tumblr media
It’s just not scary. Anytime it tries to be, it falls flat. The dead jump-scare horse is beaten further by this movie. Now I’ve seen some people ranting online about their experience at their local theater watching this film. I was specifically surprised at a post on Reddit. I don’t think it’s wrong to find this movie laughable. For the most part there was only about two parts that caused me to recoil back into my seat. That’s two parts out of a 2.5 hour long movie. That’s not good for a film that’s trying to be scary. Plus, anytime it does try to be scary, most of those parts come off as funny. Clowns are funny. There’s a scene I’m sure most people have seen through trailers online where Pennywise pops out of a projector screen. It was supposed to be scary. They really tried to make it freaky. However, it falls flat on it’s face and just becomes really hilarious. Wouldn’t you laugh if you saw a clown crawling on all fours running towards you with little bells ringing?
But I’m not trying to seem hard-as-nails here. I honestly think this movie doesn’t do well spook-wise. It constantly builds this fake tension only to either cut away from the scene, or to actually have a predictable jump-scare. I think one of the main reasons that this doesn’t work is the movie fails to have the proper music or stings needed to really make these jump-scares pack a punch. Usually a horror film will have the typical silent-moment with a loud sound occurring when something spooky is supposed to happen. IT doesn’t really do that. In fact, it almost always does the opposite. It always has weird music playing in the background of the scary scenes, and constantly relies on “scary clown music”.
Tumblr media
Moving on from that, before I start ranting about my disdain for jump-scares more, I’d like to talk about the acting. This movie’s cast is comprised mostly of child actors. Needless to say they all give pretty good performances, especially considering the script they were handed. I mean, how many kids do you know that would say they’d like to star in a movie about a scary clown trying to murder them and kill all their friends? They put on a good show. The only part I didn’t like is Richie. Finn Wolfhard is a good actor, especially in Stranger Things. But it seems like he was just given this part because he could say “Fuck” better than everyone else. The jokes from him also fall flat. It’s constant “your mom” jokes, and dick jokes. Something that a kid his age would find funny, but something I just find annoying. That makes me sound like a cynical old man, I know, but you go back and watch the movie a second time and tell me you don’t just want to tell him to shut up. Every scene with him is interrupted by some sort of quip. Even the end fight has him making jokes. It’s like they put a 15 year-old Deadpool in the movie. It’s just annoying.
The movie also just goes on for far too long. At times where you think there’s going to be some sort of conclusion to the path the film has had you travelling on, it quickly makes a sharp turn into something else. It’s non-stop. The “scary parts” are even padded out. It goes back and forth between some sort of character-building or a scene of relevance, only to have to the clown show up and be his doofy psycho self for a few minutes. It’s endless. On my first viewing I kept turning to one of my good friends and saying “When will this end?!”. 2.5 hours is just too long for a movie like this. Even if it’s been adapted from a terribly long book. I just don’t care. No movie should be this long unless it’s Star Wars.
Lastly I’d like to discuss why I think this movie is getting all the praise it has. This information is mainly coming from other reviews I’ve read, and from what my friends and coworkers have told me. I feel like this movie is only receiving favorable reviews because it’s better than the original. The 1990 version is pretty terrible. Most people can agree on that. Pennywise just comes off as a doofy clown trying to troll the kids, not a freaky demon that is trying to murder them (like in this version). It’s bad, real bad. But this film makes up for it. It improves on almost every aspect of the original, and even sticks close to the book (from what I’ve been told). But does that make it a good movie? Should we judge something based on something by the fact that it is indeed just a rehash of material from a book, or an older movie? That’s always how these types of films are looked at. No one has ever looked at Hunger Games face-value. They’ve only ever really compared them to the books. Same with Harry Potter. I feel like if people took off their fandom glasses, they’d see a flawed film. Not just something that’s “not as good as the book”, but something that is purely just not that good.
Tumblr media
Most people I’ve talked about this movie with have done nothing but mention the book, or the original movie. I went in for a second viewing with none of that in mind, just to try and get some sort of point for this review. As my readers may know, I try to have a point to these. My Pirates 5 review was nothing but a big complaint about sequels and reboots in modern Hollywood. However, I can’t really think of a main point for this review. IT has left me at a loss for words. All I can say is it’s simply not good. It beats the 90s version, and is apparently close enough to the book that it makes it bearable for King fans. But if you’re looking for a good movie, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for a proper terrifying flick, try watching something else. If you’re afraid of clowns and looking to overcome your fear, I’d suggest speaking to your psychologist before seeing this. But on top of it all, I don’t believe IT is a good movie.
I give IT (2017) a 6/10. +5 points for good acting, +1 point for making me laugh. The rest is all taken off due to the fact that I’m a cynical old man who needs to go get eaten by a clown. Screw me amirite?
