Random headcanon #57

It's winter the first time Joanna is allowed to visit the Enterprise and meets the crew, not only Jim and Nyota, who she already knew from the time her father was at the Academy.

She immediately likes Chekov. He is fun, smart, doesn't treat her like a total child and even offers to teach her a bit Russian.

But as they talk Jo finds out that Chekov never had hot chocolate with marshmallows. Or hot chocolate at all. Pavel acts like it's no big deal, but Jo can't believe it. So she goes and tells her dad.

Leonard is just as shocked as she was upon finding out.

They immediately make a plan to change it and drag Scotty into it as well, because if anyone can get them all ingredients they want it's the engineer.

Two days later Scotty casually invites Chekov to a round of drinking. Of course he says yes. Nobody can say no to the happy,friendly Scotsman.

However, Pavel is very surprised and confused to see Joanna there when he arrives in Scotty's room He is not surprised to see Leonard there. Everybody knew that he and Monty were "best drinking buddies".

But before he could even ask, Monty already said with a grin "I never specified what we are drinking."

"Okay." Chekov replied unsure and sat down. Leonard placed a mug in front of him.

"It's hot chocolate with marshmallows!" Jo exclaimed excited, "Daddy made it!"

Pavel glanced at the doctor, who gave him a soft, encouraging smile. So Chekov tried it.

Chekov found his new favourite drink.
