Did the MASH gay stuff peak in season 2? I feel like all the big moments are concentrated in seasons 1 and 2, with just sporadic jokes (like "I knew it, you're one of those too") later on.
#there's a huge drop-off around like. season 4 or 5.#it's right around the time bj shows up because he gets like. one and a half. and he's only tangentially involved they're mostly about hawke#this isn't a casual relationship btw it just happens around the same time#larry gelbart leaving after s4 had a lot to do with it#and probably some of the other writers who were responsible for the ones in s1-2#but anyway i'm now wondering if it actually started dropping in s3#mashposting

This may be me jumping the gun by judging the season too early (only just finished episode 6, which actually was pretty fun), but I dunno, Buffy season 3 is kinda turning into the "gas leak year" of BTVS?
It's mostly just the stink of the first two episodes, not really feeling the chemistry between Angel and Buffy (though I will say, Buffy is more convincing than Angel by at least an order of magnitude), and me being very adamantly anti Willow/Xander, but I have not really enjoyed s3 as much as the previous two seasons. Still very enjoyable for sure! But just... less?
On the topic of the first two episodes, they really kind of dropped the ball on both of them in two different ways:
For episode 1 of season 3, it was that they really advertised in bright flashing lights "Look at us! We are doing a Very Special Episode about Real Issues! This is a Serious Episode about Homeless Youth!" but they like... almost had it? You can see the ideas the writers had, and all the setup was there, with Buffy meeting Lily-Chanterelle-Anne, and the different ways they ended up in that no-name city (which I just assumed was Oakland... sorry Oakland). But the evil entity they had to defeat was maybe too... cartoonish? Like ok I know they were going for "cults prey on the vulnerable, just like runaway youth like Lily and Buffy" but then they kinda... trapped them in more of a looney-tunes-esque torture dungeon than any sort of metaphor-for-capitalism that actually landed.
And I think this episode made me realize how spoiled we are in this era of television post golden-age, because Buffy just resolves her character arc by punching some demons in the face... instead of actually having a resolution that made sense both for her character arc, and saving the day at the same time. One wonders if maybe an even more down-to-earth episode would have served its purpose even better in terms of Buffy's character arc, but I guess starting off season 3 with a bang trumped that.
As for episode 2 of season 3... well, it just felt like they weren't being fair to Buffy at all. Everybody acted like Buffy running away was like her committing multiple felonies, and everyone was so focused on how her disappearance affected how they felt and not even trying to understand what could have pushed her to run away in the first place! Especially her mom and Willow being so selfish in their reactions was quite unexpected for me (like Xander talking out of his ass and being a selfish dick I understand, but Willow?!), and whatever reasonable points they had were just kind of lost in them acting extremely unreasonable, and kind of just out-of-character just so Buffy can Feel Bad and be at Maximum Guilt for running away.
I would make an excuse like "oh maybe times were different and they didn't understand PTSD".... however In episode 1 of season 2, Buffy was also acting out and arguably being more selfish in her behaviour to her friends due to her PTSD from the events of season 1... but her friends called out her behaviour but still remained reasonable and empathetic towards her until she "snapped out of it" by the end! It doesn't make any sense that they would suddenly not know how to use these skills now a year later.
Anyway, with all that being said, I still find BTVS overall very enjoyable. And I feel like Giles has actually become the MVP of the season so far, with him actively searching for Buffy in ep1, advocating for her in ep2 and consistently being just cool and supportive and USEFUL, and of course, stealing the show in ep6. All in all, I'm just very invested in these characters.
Except Xander, I couldn't care less about him, ew.
#buffy the vampire slayer#btvs#buffy season 3#buffy summers#willow rosenberg#rupert giles#ramblings#not tagging the characters that i had criticized because i dont want their fans coming for me#i guess i did tag willow but i actually love her and it pains me to see her go through this lame story arc it hurts so much#free willow tbh

Y'know N!Isaac goes on and on about his so called character development...
....but would you even be able to tell that he had any if it weren't for his long-winded speeches?
Because other than his words, he spared Hector's life, indicating he no longer harbored hatred towards him, but what about his misanthropy? His actual character arc of surpassing it?
Because if he didn't stop talking about how oh so enlightened he is I dunno if I'd be able to really tell he'd changed his stance on humanity, given that he doesn't have any qualms in stringing along an army of demons he created by sacrificing countless innocents, not even showing any regret even as he's talking to said demons
Just saying that Isaac in S4 feels even more like a psychopath than in S3, just one who has grown supremely narcissistic in his own presumed growth
Man you are speaking my words 😭
Like. When you put everything together, it's very obvious N!Isaac only changed in the sense that he decided to... stop. That's it. He stopped his revenge quest in the middle of it and decided to "live".
And yes, it was in the middle of it:
This is just before his invasion of Styria. He literally changed his mind about killing N!Hector the very moment he saw him, but beforehand, he still was ready to go with his plan of taking revenge: look at his face! When did he have the time to put together that N!Hector suffered enough for his mistakes and he didn't have agency anyway so revenge is for children?
I'm putting here his Epic Speeches™ again:
It took me a few weeks to transform the viable bodies in the city. Weeks more to effect repairs and bury those too destroyed to convert. Is it so bad to take my time and think for a moment? Have I changed? Go on, say something. I killed you, old wizard. You must have an opinion on that. No? I have killed many people, old wizard, for many reasons. But killing you felt just. It felt like repairing the world a little. I liked that feeling. For a long time, I was content to be the knife that others wielded. But lately, old wizard, I have felt more like the hand than the knife. My whole life, I have reacted to things. Rarely acted. So, yes, I have changed. I have agency in this world. I can create futures. And, happily, I could create a future and end yours at the same time. God is good. I wonder what I will do next.
I have recently begun to consider the future… which has been a novelty for me, because I never really thought I had one. This is how they get us, Hector. They convince us that there is no future. There's only an eternal now… and the best we can do is survive until dawn and then do it all again. That's no way to live. And I've discovered, to some surprise… that I am interested in living. I am interested in building a way to live. And I think I will start here. I have come to wonder that perhaps Dracula did not run things well. Even before his wife died. He lived in one long night, and never the future. I think perhaps he earned his rest… and that we should not disturb it. I will instead build something new on all these old bones. Something where people can live for a future. I'm going to live.
"Killing you felt just". That's it. He wants to feel good about himself. Sure, effectively he'll stop murdering people and desecrating their corpses for the horrific crime of being hostile to him in their job, but... is that it? Is this the grandiose character development people can't stop fawning over? Why should I be happy that this remorseless murderer now loves himself a little more?
Many people, myself included, have said that this is effectively Hector's own character development in the mangas, this whole "I have agency! I am not a pawn!" creed. But you know the difference? Hector felt guilty about his past actions. We don't see them, sadly, but we see how poorly he thinks of himself because of it, how he fears to be rejected by Rosaly, how he can't bear the way she won't ask about his past because he's waiting for the other shoe to drop. With N!Isaac it's the opposite, we see his atrocities graphically on screen, including in S4E6 where he mindlessly kills the human mercenaries in the castle (guess they deserved it for daring to want to be paid :V), and then he simply ends his arc with "eh, I like being a person". Yeah, and those people you have murdered in cold blood and turned into Night Creatures sure did too! You're not going to spare a thought about them? Was making graves enough to atone? Okay.
Like, this is only the beginning of a character development. He decided he wanted more agency by the end of S2, where he decided he would build an army for himself, although still honoring Dracula's memory. He spent a whole season flipflopping between "huh, I guess not all humans deserve to die gruesomly at my hand" and "nvm they do". And now he has decided that Dracula is not worth being simped over and he wants to be king. Sure, it's realistic timing, you don't turn your life around in six weeks... but it's not exactly something to present in such an epic "best character of all time" way?
And I can't get over how we effectively get told by three people (N!Isaac, Flyseyes, N!Hector) that he has changed. What a lazy way to pat yourself over the back for your writing. N!Isaac showing concern for N!Hector's mutilated finger is a much smaller gesture that shows very nicely that he's growing empathy for someone he couldn't care less before. We don't need to be told! I have eyes and ears! Stop treating me like I'm too stupid to grasp the nuances of your brilliant writing with my own brain!
But after all, this is the same as the story forgetting that N!Hector considered turning humans into livestock because he had to be tortureporned and then rushed into a love story, that Lenore resorted to cruel rape by deception to put N!Hector in a cage because we had to feel sorry for her suicide (and funnily enough she also spends the whole season making everything about her, despite the story and the fandom wanting to convince me that she was in genuine love), and that N!Dracula carried over a mass slaughter for one year because uhhh he was just too cute with his wifey 🥺 that's not. that's not how redemption works. Once you cross serious moral lines like indiscriminate slaughter or sadistic abuse, you have to do more than just cry all over yourself or masturbating over how great you are.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGKNG TELL ME IM THE FIRST PERSON TO DROP AN ASK FOR THE FANDOM GAME FOR NARCOS MEXICO, PLS LET IT BE SO bc you stuck to OG narcos for the other ask with the exception of Calderoni which, fair. Like I am a Calderoni apologist through and through but I would also totally throw him off a roof. It’s complicated. But anyway, since you kept it OG specific I feeeeeellll like you must be begging for an Nmx specific ask. Am I wrong??? If not, I am here to deliver this ask.
Kay, my beautiful, wonderful mamadas enthusiast. You're never wrong. And I can never say no to you. 😌
The first character I first fell in love with: Okay so we all know who I ended up having severe brainrot over as the series went on 😂 I am not immune to the meerkat man. HOWEVER!!! I will say that the first character that I started to like right off the rip was Rafa. And also Don Neto, too, but Rafa is way prettier 😂 I just loved his chaotic energy idkidk
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: The way that Victor blew into s3 like a hurricane and immediately threw me for a 180. I feel like at first I was just curious about his character and what the whole deal there was, but by the end of the season I was weeping. The tears I've wept. I love him.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Okay so I said my piece about Calderoni in the last Narcos ask. And I don't wanna repeat answers, so I shall reach into my hat and pull out another unpopular opinion. Because there is nothing I love more than swinging bats at hornets' nests lmao. I feel like I should preface this with saying, I do NOT hate him. I don't. I just, I don't really get/feel the hype around Ramon Arellano. Like I can look at him and see that he's pretty, and I enjoy his scenes well enough, but he has not bewitched me. Idk if he ever will lmao
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't think??? I have one?? I feel like the closest I get to this is being a Walt Girlie but I don't think anyone actually hates him. He is just not the preferred entree on the NMX menu lmao.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Okay so coming into the series, I was already rooting for Felix because I am in love with Diego Luna lmao. Unfortunately, however, I realized that no amount of loving Diego Luna was ever going to make me love Miguel. Literallyyyyy who cheats on Maria???? Dumbass. 😂
The character I would totally smooch: God. Most of the cast??? What do you want from me?? 😂 Nah but fr I think Mayo could fix me. I'd let him try, at least. 😌
The character I’d want to be like: Solid tie between Dina and Andrea. I love them both. I can't choose one.
The character I’d slap: A long fucking list if ever there was one, Kay. 😂 Am I allowed to put Calderoni here? In a different category?? Is that allowed? 😂 Fuck it we ball.
A pairing that I love: Miguel and jail. 😌 Sksksk no but for an actual pairing, there is just something that I really love about the whole Claudio/Dina dynamic that I just love, for as short-lived and tragic as it was. I love them. I want someone else to write fic about them so I can read it sksksk
A pairing that I despise: Ooooo this is interesting. I'm not...I'm not sure if there is one? I mean obviously allowing Miguel to be near any woman is criminal. Maria deserved so much better and so did his second wife that I don't remember the name of even though we literally just watched the fucking episodes 😂 But that has to do more with Miguel than the actual pairing hahaha. I don't think I have a pairing that I hate off the principle of it. Maybe I need to be more of a hater or something sksksk
Thank you for this!! tqm 💕
Send me a fandom!

Wukong has ZERO CHILL he is going to roast Macky into melting all that ice on him 😂 but ow, bud 😭 yes, we do indeed wonder if Wukong is throwing shade back. Could Macky have said something about Wukong screwing back to the Monk? You might be wondering "anon why are you so fixated on lines repeating" it's what they DO. Some are narrative parallels, some are Season 4 that makes you go "oh so this is why you said all that earlier that pretty much didn't show up in S3" it was coming :)
"I couldn't care less about what the LBD wants." Ugh, my guy. You know it's pointless trying to tell people that, but thanks. I will chew on every one of those lines. Also. BRO WHERE IS YOUR CHILL. Sorry I know you're a frozen salmon right now, but "the Samadhi Fire is my last hope" also Macky: *LITERALLY BREAKS THE RINGS* sir. SIR. my brother in mammal, you are quite sincerely on a ticking timer before the ice consumes you back into the grave. WHAT were you thinking??? I don't think he's thinking at all. that noggin of his is too shaken up and he's swapping plans on the fly as soon as he hears the rings are with MK. my guy, they were going to do the ritual later anyway, or well, they already started, but were you allergic to waiting to ask politely for someone to use the fire on you? eh tbf, it was better they didn't rip the fire out of Mei to put into Wukong so. can't say it's THAT bad he forced them to finish it without Wukong.
Very optimistic take on Wukong's expressions there! Could be, but he doesn't inspire much hope in that lol. I think it was him feeling guilt about keeping secrets and leaving MK back in S2. And maybe some secret ShadowPeach past that *gets dragged off stage* *claws back onto stage* Ep 10!! Parallels my beloved, *reaches out for you* Him AND Mei I- *screams over the ocean flooding on me* SPECIAL. You will know the scene when you hear it. and see it.
"Don't get in my way, kid. I don't have time for you. I'm just here for the Samadhi fire, then, I'm done with you all." 😔😔😔 it's ok, let him think the fandom even cares about the fact he seriously wants nothing to do with this or interact with the Gang on purpose ever again and has decided hunting down MK is not as fun as it was in the first two seasons. Speaking of, he technically did neither as they came to his play and he was looking at the sky in his intro, as if waiting for Wukong to show up before MK popped up instead. he was even backing up to leave.
actually new thing because our friend Macaroni really isn't right in the head. he was in a mech and all trying to take the rings? when he just destroyed the fakes thinking they were real? and would've what, left it at that until that light shone from the altar? we know he doesn't want to bring em to LBD, unless if that was a moment of weakness/confession because of Wukong, and decided "ok maybe she's my last chance if I give them to her" because HE sure can't use them alone if he removes them from the altar. so WHAT CHANGED to make him force them to finish the ritual? unless if it was another test for MK and he was not impressed with the power. "So THIS was the Monkey King's great plan?" It wasn't actually, but how curious that you think so. "How do you still not see that he has no idea what he's doing." some villains drop false statements to complain about society that the hero denies bc they were biased extremists all along. other villains drop truths based in backstory that gets confirmed by Wukong and everybody else there, including the story and it's not meant to be bashing, but rather a character trait and flaw that also has a reason and its okay, it will get better. I'm 0.0 like that meme of slow head turn wide eyes at Macky's final emotional break. he's FULLY lost it here, amazing. this is the most vicious he's ever been oof. gotta also love his shadow shark moves and YES you caught that stressed twitch in his eyebrows!! he's walking pretty slow and heavy, bc of the weight of everything with battling emotions and decisions or bc of the weight of the ice? 🤔
It is so late at night I have no thoughts to articulate, so take this
Thought I will say this bit: I took it as he knew they were fake?
Like, the way he splays them open, stares at them, and then goes "Hm" as he narrows his eyes. and then when Wukong starts talking he glances back at him and raises an eyebrow, almost like "I know him too well, and he seems way too confident for these to be the real rings"
And then of course Wukong digs in the LBD dagger, which gets Mackaroni angry, so him breaking the rings wasn't so much meant To Break The Rings, but more. They were what were in his hands when Wukong started mocking him about LBD, so he broke them to take out his frustration. both at Wukong and at the entire shit situation he's in
and then Ne'zha going "they were fake?" and wukong owning up to it is just icing on the confirmation cake at that point

Actually, here is an alternative thing for you to occupy your time with, and a question I have been meaning to ask you for a while. I have finished 911 finally! So I'm ready for the new season. And I wonder, realistically, what do you think the roadmap would be for a buddie endgame?
I absolutely see how their story has been framed and filmed in a lot of parallels to how a romantic storyline would be set out. But there has been no outright mention of either of them being bi - although the conversation about Maddy setting Buck up with whassisface was very casual and could very easily have been an example of canonically bi Buck - and they are both at the end of season 4 in 'relationships' with women.
So, in your estimation, what's the timeline? What's the transition? How do they go about this and how long does it take? I wanna know your thoughts 👀
okay yes i have lots of thoughts on this and it's actually one of my fave questions i get asked. I've always watched a lot of tv shows so I'm just estimating on what I've seen before and what I would personally do. IMO this love story is a slow burn. We only have four seasons so far and only three of those seasons have Eddie in them. This unsurprisingly got long so ill put it under the cut.
So I'll go by seasons bc to me its important to look at everything that has happened so far by seasons and by love interests and not as a whole. Its the best way i can form a timeline that I think would make the most sense and why
S1: So we don't get any hints at Buck being anything other than straight and I think this is because he was supposed to be. They hadn't planned for Eddie yet and they definitely hadn't planned for the chemistry Oliver and Ryan were gonna have. S1 Buck was this reckless kid who didn't take anything serious. He was definitely super immature. Then he meets Abby and he starts to get serious about his job and his love life. I'm not gonna say "Abby changed him" because she didnt. He saw the person he was and the person he was becoming and decided on that change himself.
S2: Eddie!!!! So we get introduced to this army medic turned firefighter in the least heterosexual way. Then Buck is angry because Eddie is hot and really good at his job. they work together and Eddie compliments Buck and now they're smiley bffs. Seriously wtf was all that? Anyway this is all sus bc from what ive seen before in other shows when a main love interest leaves and a new main character replaces them, that means something. JLH replaced Connie Britton as far as big name actress but i really believe Eddie replaced Abby as far as importance in Buck's life. Do i think they brought him in with the intentions of turning him into a LI? No but they sure fueled the narrative from the get go. I think they saw fans reactions and started testing the waters.
Moving on to LIs in this season. We find out Eddie has a kid and the mother is not in the picture (eddie made sure buck knew that right away). Then later on we find out he's technically still married. shannon comes back and we get Eddie finally getting to confront this head on. He tries to get his family back together for the sake of his son. Its big for Eddie's character bc all he does and all he's ever done is for his son. Then Shannon asks for a divorce then she dies bringing this arc to an abrupt end and leaving eddie heartbroken.
meanwhile Buck is still waiting for Abby. Then he finally accepts that shes not coming back and decides to move on. He goes right back to being "Buck 1.0" with Taylor and feels bad about himself because that really isnt him anymore. He wants a real relationship. So then Ali calls and asks him on an actual date and he agrees. This is his first try at a relationship after a heartbreak. in tv these don't usually work out but are used to develop the main character's growth. We don't really see much of her but she breaks up with him so.
S3: This is Eddie finally dealing with his feelings/guilt season. This is also the season I think we really see how important Buck is to the Diaz boys. S2 had cute buckley-diaz family moments but those could still be interpreted as a best friend and his best friend's kid. This season though... after the tsunamic episode was when i really started to fully believe buddie was going canon. This season is solidifying their bond not only as Buck and Eddie but as Buck Eddie and Christpher. As I'm writing this I realized neither of them really has a love interest in this season do they? Ana is introduced but then is clearly presented as definitely NOT the right choice for eddie and especially for Chris. Then they counter that with Buck helping Eddie build a skateboard for Chris that he can use as opposed to Ana's ablest remarks about how he can't do it so just move on to something else. Then we get Buck's reaction in Eddie Begins. Buck has seen his team his friends his family get hurt on the job before but he has never reacted the way he did when it was Eddie in danger. Again solidifying just how much these two mean to each other. Don't even get me started on this season being when Eddie changes his will offscreen. Anyway we get Abby back and Buck finally gets the closure from that relationship that he needs to move forward into a serious relationship.
Now S4: jfc s4....IMO this is the only logical season to get the ball rolling on Buddie and they sure did that with 4x14 despite everything else. So i never thought they would be the first serious relationship for each other after the heart break theyve both experienced. It wouldn't be fair to their character developments. Buck tries dating Veronica and that clearly doesnt work but we know hes now open to dating again. We get Buck Begins where we see why Buck is the dare devil he is. The only way he got his parents attention as a kid was to put himself in danger. They bring back taylor and how to they ultimately get together after she friendzones him? She thinks hes in danger and suddenly wants him. As much as i hate it this is really gonna be a relationship where Buck finally stands up for himself and sees his own worth and realizes he deserves more. He deserves someone who sees him and loves him for who he is. He deserves to be chosen, something Abby Ali his parents dont do and what i think taylor wont end up doing. I feel like shes gonna choose her career over him. Maybe not in a "I'm breaking up with you" way but maybe she takes a new job and want to do LD (hes tried that twice and it didnt work for him. hes not gonna want that) or she could ask him to go with her but he wont. His family is in LA. His job is in LA. Eddie and Chris are in LA and he won't leave them. Then we have Eddie finally deciding to move on and try dating again so they bring back ana. To me it's not gonna work out so I'm not bothered at all lmao. It's interesting that they'd choose her though. Someone we already know Eddie doesn't trust with his son. There's also more buckley-diaz family scenes of them being coparents. The hildy episode, Chris running to Buck when hes mad at eddie, Buck being the one to tell Chris Eddie got hurt, then Buck staying with Chris and taking on the guardian role without him even knowing just how much that role really does belong to him. He didn't do it out of obligation. He didn't do it because he was asked to. He did it because he thought it would be best for Chris. Finally to 4x14. This is by far the biggest "Oh shit this is it. This is the beginning of buddie". We find out Eddie changed his will a year ago and has just been sitting on this info. I think Eddie knew back then what it meant but he wasn't in the right mindset to accept what it means so he kept it to himself. I think he finally started allowing himself to go there during treasure hunt. The man was jealous yall. Carla coming back and her comment about doing whats best for him and not chris is his oh shit moment. I think he wouldve broken up with Ana a few days after that if he had the time lol. He gets caught up in the mother/son sl then this poor mf gets shot by a sniper. The way that whole scene was filmed btw was not in a bff way. That was a lover watching his beloved almost die in front of him. Buck again puts himself down and Eddie decides this is the moment. He needs Buck to see how important he is. He wants buck to know how loved he is. So he sits there talking himself up to it and finally lets Buck know just how big of a part he is in Eddie's family. Buck's previous scene is him saying he wants someone who wants him back then here is Eddie saying he needs him...Chris needs him. wtf.
So with S5: I think Eddie knows and Buck has a feeling but he's not sure so what i would do is spend s5 with Eddie basically showing Buck his feelings but not exactly getting in the way of Buck's new relationship because Buck has to be the one to make that choice. Id also have chris feeling the different shift with buck having a gf like he did with Eddie. This newfound info wasnt just dropped on us for a "Aww so sweet" moment. This will business is gonna be a part of a bigger storyline. I'm hoping its with Eddie's family during maybe 5b.
So what I think would be the best timeline for canon buddie is 5a eddie already having either broken up with ana or is gonna break up with her, Buck choosing himself and ending things with Taylor by midseason finale, them bringing in Eddie's family in 5b and maybe then being when Eddie confesses his feelings for Buck. Then 6a we could get them walking on egg shells around each other not really knowing what to do bc this is all so new for both of them. This could bring just the right amount of comedy and angst especially them awkward and flustered around each other at work. A big blowup can happen between them for added angst (maybe an arguement before one of them or both of them is put in danger) then a midseason finale kiss. Then trying to find the balance between their personal relationship and their work relationship during 6b.
I don't know how long Fox shows last but procedurals can last a long time. I'm not sure thats gonna be the case for 911 especially with all the main cast staying that long so i think this would give us at least a whole season (S7) of canon buddie.
As far as then being presented as straight, there's been more seeds planted about buck being bi. A few i can remember off the top of my head: all of 2x1 lmao, maddie's comment about bucks boy crush on eddie, buck hinting at thinking eddie is cute when he thinks maddie is talking about him, the christmas elf, the comments on the instagram livestream, idk if youve watched it or not but TK's comment to Buck in the crossover episode, and like you mentioned Maddie's casual comment about setting him up with Josh. All we really know about Eddie's love life is he married Shannon when they were young and is trying with Ana so it could turn into a whole storyline for him.
I'm so sorry this is so long and took forever but i I hope i actually answered your question and didnt just get lost in rambles lmao.
#oh god that took me way too long lol#eddie diaz#evan buckley#buddie#911onfox#is this meta?#wtf even is that#buddie meta#??#idk

Ahh, I know it's a bit late, but can i rant to you about the lesson 44?? It really was such a great lesson and i just can't stop thinking about it (plus, i really love your thoughts and theories, so if you want to, i'd love to hear more of them!! 😍) (also sorry if there's any mistakes, it's 2am here where i live lol)
- the whole start when MC meets Asmo first made me kinda emotional??? Like, maybe it was also the soundtrack's fault, but i found it so bittersweet that his special power as the angel was to see the good in people and when he became a demon, it turned into charming others to find out their deepest desire. Idk, just seeing all of the brothers and how they were same as now and different at the same time was so amazing
- while i'm not sure if it's the first time, but Mammon has def called out MC for spacing out and also for not looking where they're going. One of those cases was when they where on their date at the carnival and MC bumbed into him, so Mammon thinking that he's a morrosexual is just so funny lmao
- also, what i found fascinating, is that one of Barbatos home screen messages is that Lucifer was actually the one who introduced Levi to anime. Which makes Levi getting into anime all the more complex, bc now we now that not only Lucifer had a part in it, but also MC, and ahhhhh i just love that so much
- since the '???' voice is def Michael, I wonder how long has he been watching over MC. For example, was Simeon sent as an exchange student bc of MC? Or was it all a big coincidence that the one human who interfered with the Celestial realm and he needed to supervise just so happened to be the exchange student? It also makes me wonder if Simeon was not only demoted bc he might've helped the brothers, but also bc of his "easy-going" personality, which also seemed to be looked down on by other seraphims. Idk, it just seems like since they were so strict with everything, that it would be weird if one of the seraphim's didn't fit their standarts of what an angel should be.
Anyways, i would really love to hear more of your thoughts and theories on this! Everytime om gets a new lesson one of the things i can't for are your thoughts and rants about them, they really make my day (and also make me realize that i miss so much stuff while reading the lessons myself lmao) 😊!
I hope you have an amazing rest of the day/night ^-^
first off: I AM SO SORRY!!!! THIS IS SUCH A LOVELY ASK AND NJKSNDIOJWINEJ FUCK I HATE THAT I MISSED IT FOR SO LONG I REALLY HOPE YOU SEE THIS REPY OHMIGOD. Due to reasons (life being a fucking mess) I haven’t been on tumblr since Feb and I really do hate that I missed this. I love long asks where I can just ramble back at ya and I really hope you see this
- The whole lesson was amazing and I’m always up for someone to rant to me! I posted all my summaries and theories of the lessons form 45 and up on @still-a-morosexual-help and reblogged them to this account as well. They’re all pretty long but full of theories if you wanna see.
- Yes! Yes! This! there’s something so bittersweet about seeing them as angels! Like I 100% believe that they fit better in the Devildom and that they are probably happier there as well but that doesn’t dismiss their lives in the Celestial Realm. They probably still have such good memories of it and just the whole thing gives me so many feelings
- Right! He does bring it up in the carnival and in S1 when they go to steal the grimoire to piss off Lucifer enough that he’ll stop brooding in his room Mammon yells at MC for spacing out too. I think there are similar incidents in some Devilgrams & events too, plus he semi-regularly calls MC “Dummy”. MC & Mammon both looked at each other and said “what a fucking idiot I love ‘em” and I think that’s beautiful.
- What I think happened is that when MC brings anime up it doesn’t exist yet and then they go back to their own time and everyone forgets they were even there though the effects of their visit linger, so Levi forgets what happens but MC telling him to check out anime & manga falls into his subconscious. And then they fall and Levi’s self esteem drops even more and then eventually anime and manga are created and Lucifer in a bid to get Levi interested in something since he’s the only one of the brothers without a hobby/hyperfocus tells him about the newest human thing: anime/manga or even gives him the first few chapters of a manga series. Lucifer doesn’t think anything will come out of it, considering Levi didn’t latch on to any of the other things Lucifer tried to introduce him to (like music, books, cars, fashion) but Lucifer giving him this kickstarts Levi’s subconsciousness and the part of MC telling him about it and he gives it an honest chance and actually gets hooked on it.
- Ooooh I never thought of how MC would have affected the angels by their visit. It could be totally possible that after their visit Michael wanted someone to keep an eye on them and he sent Simeon once the chance became available. At the end of S2 he did mention that he’s kept some tabs on MC right? I have a very vague memory of it. About the easy going thing - from what’s being mentioned I always thought Michael had a very childish personality? Like yeah he’s strict and has a very strict idea of what angels should be like but it’s all under the sweetest and friendliest of personalities. Technically an angelic parallel to Diavolo while Raphael was an angelic parallel to current Lucifer. And I’d like to think that no matter what their personality was like as long as they did their job well and acted like a good angel Simeon would have kept his position. Also Simeon’s also being shown to be scary and strict when he gets serious/pissed off (like during the play in S2 and when he was trying to get MC & Mammon to help out at the Angel’s Halo in S3) But at the same time Lucifer later mentions that Simeon was the only relatively normal one from the Seraphim so it makes sense once his closest friend had fled the other two would have been able to outvote him
- I’m really sorry I didn’t upload my summaries and theories for the other lessons during the last few months but like I said before yesterday I uploaded all my detailed summaries and theories till Lesson 54, and the rest I’ll upload in a couple days. I really hope you see this so that we could talk about them.
I hope you have a great day/night too!
