Thank you!

📒 - character[s] | dorm[s]; cater diamond (ft. rook hunt)
📒 - genre; [platonic/romantic + gn!reader] slight crack and more fluff + maybe a little cringe who knows
📒 - notes;
had to think a bit for this one but i managed to work with it. though, since it's not specified whether it's romantic or platonic, i just make it so that it fits for both.
Also, a little note that when I heard the word 'aesthetic influencer', i instantly thought about those aesthetic accounts that post photos with vintage aesthetic and all that, so sorry if this isn't what you meant!(´_`)anyway, thanks for requesting and enjoy!
Classes had ended. Hues of orange and blue paints the sky with clouds decorating it as a sign of inevitable nightfall. Walking through the crowds of people who got out from their classes, you successfully squeeze your way out as you descend the stairs.
With books tightly secured in your grip, you glance at the screen of your phone.
04:57 pm
"I can start early before 8! Maybe I can edit it tomorrow, I'll have more time if-"
Your train of thoughts were cut short when you bumped into someone's back, a quiet 'ow' escaping your lips as you shake your head from the impact before looking at who you've ran into,
"Ah, ______!" And it happens to be Cater, "Sorry, I was just scrolling through Magicam and didn't notice you!"
"No, no, it's okay! I wasn't looking where I was walking so no need to apologize," Cater sighs in relief, before altering back to his cheery tone, "Glad to know~"
You're arguably close with Cater, it's obvious since he's the first one who've talked to you outside of Pomefiore. And boy did you warmed up to him quickly. He notices how shy you can be with new people that you've never talked to before.
So, he had always been quite subtle with his approach at first and when he knows that you're comfortable with him, Cater let's his mouth run wild. Telling you about the latest news around NRC, showing you accounts that he knew you'd like and so on so forth.
Both of you are very close. But not really close enough for you to admit something in particular...
"Ah, that reminds me! I've recently found an account that I think you'd like~" You prop one brow up, "Oh, really? What's it about?"
"They're an influencer with a style that you're into, I just know it from looking at their Magicam page alone. And the way they edit their posts are absolutely to die for!"
Cater scrolled through his phone for a bit before showing it to you. You squint at his phone's screen only to widen your eyes after reading the username that's displayed, "O-oh! Their feed is really neat and pretty,"
"I know right?! The setups are really elegant and have those classy feeling to it, y'know? I bet the person behind it has very sophisticated tastes, absolutely fitting!"
"For sure.."
Yeah, you would be lying if you say that the account isn't to your taste. Reasons being that it's a style that you've been going with and loved for a long time, you and Cater knew that.
Another reason is because you run that account.
"Well, I'd love to talk more but I have to go back to my dorm now," The ginger nodded, showing you an 'ok' sign, "Alright, talk to you next time~!"
You walk pass him, making your way out from the school ground. When you're sure that Cater's far from you, you stopped in your tracks. A few seconds pass before you bolt your way towards Pomefiore with speed that could surpass light,
Stumbling your way in your dorm, you drift straight to your room. Opening the door with shaky hands when-
"Mon étoile! How-"
"WAAAHH! R-ROOK!" You slapped a hand on your mouth and another on your chest. Your heart felt like popping out from your body at the sudden call, "Oh, pardon, Mon étoile. You seemed a lot more jumpier than ever! What gives?"
You let yourself calm down a bit before sighing, "Oh, uh...I'd prefer to talk about this in private, please," "Je vois! Now lead the way inside,"
Turning around to face your room's door, you turn the door knob as it opens before you. You walk inside followed by Rook as he scans around a bit before looking back at you, "Now, having a clearer view around, your room was neatly modified that If I hadn't known the reason why it was, it would not seem like a room in Pomefiore at all!"
Rook exclaimed with a smile, pairing with hand motions that make it seem more dramatic than it should. Regardless, this is Rook you're seeing here,
"Nevertheless, what is it that is bothering you, Mon étoile?"
Sitting on the edge of your bed, you fidget with your fingers, "Uh, after my last class, I just found out that Cater, you know, that guy?"
The blonde sat next to you while nodding, "Yes, yes, one of Heartslabyul's fine residents,"
"Yeah, him. Well, he found out about my Magicam account and kinda showed it to me and I sorta panicked a little and all," Rook nodded, motioning you to go on as you did,
"And, I don't know, did the face I make when he showed it was obvious? Will he know? I think he noticed the surprise look that I had. O-or maybe not, maybe he didn't notice at all since he get hyper fixated on telling the account to me, he wouldn't notice! But Cater's smart so he might figure it out and if he did, will-"
"Deep breaths, Mon étoile! Deep breaths!"
Beads of sweat started forming on your face with your eyes widened and your hands being a lot more fidgety than before. Rook's hands on your shoulder to stop yourself from spewing more words laced with uncertainty, "Don't worry of such matter! If you're uncertain whether Monsieur Magicam is aware of your identity or not, you shouldn't overthink from such subtle reaction,"
"Overthinking the matter will only worsen the case of your worries," "Is-, do you mean I'll jinx myself?" "Oui! If that's what you understand,"
You nodded, thinking to yourself for a second before a small smile finally landed on your face, "Hm, I guess you're right. It's nothing big anyway..."
Standing up from your bed, you put your hands on your hips, "I mean, Cater had recently found that account, so there's no way he'll figure out the dots instantly, right?"
Well, well, look who had jinxed themself.
Now looking back, you should not have declared anything out loud at all. Because you're now static on your spot, nervously sweating while gripping on your uniform a little too hard that Cater fears that you might rip it at some point.
Speaking of Cater, he's standing in front of you with your phone on his hand, face showing bewilderment after founding out about something that he didn't expect at the least.
Rook told you that you should have a change of pace and shoot for your next post outside of your room. You're hesitant at first but gave in since you know what? What's the worst that could happen?
This, this is the worst that could happen.
Both of you are stuck in this extremely awkward silence and you have no idea where Rook had gone to.
'PLEASE JUST BURY ME NOW,'
"This is..." You hold up both of your hands, motioning him to stop talking, "Now, before you say anything," Holding up one hand to your mouth while coughing, you look off to the side, "Yes, I have been handling this account for a while, it's a...side hobby,"
Cater stares at you, putting one hand up on his hip while the other is still holding your phone. You can't tell what he's thinking but the way his mouth slightly went upward and the glint of amusement in his eyes is enough to eat you up on the inside,
"Well, if that so, then this is...a wondrous surprise!"
"I know, I- wait what," Now you're the one who's staring at him as Cater chuckled at your reaction to his response, "Seriously, I had a hunch on how you acted when I show you that account, but guess I had it spot on huh?"
He handed back your phone as you grab it from him, still staring at him as he continue, "Really, why didn't you told me about this?" You snapped back from reality, shaking your head,
"I WAS EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT IT, Uh, I'm sorry! It just that, I get nervous when someone found out about things that I don't want them to know about. Wait no, that didn't made sense, uhh, aghh!! This is such a mess!"
You smack your head, covering your face from embarrassment at your attempt at explaining to him,
"It's okay, it's okay! I fully understand what you meant!"
As you peek through your fingers, Cater slowly got a hold of both of your wrists and pull it down while leaning to your face,
"______, you're a very cool person, not to mention talented! If you thought that admitting to being an influencer is embarrassing then there's nothing to worry about because clearly, who would think negatively if you're that amazing? Definitely not me for sure!"
You're not sure if your face is heating up at the proximity between you two or the abundance of compliments he's bringing to you. Either way, you glance to the side with slightly closed eyes as Cater continues,
"Unless if you're uncomfortable with it, then that's totally fine. I'll apologize for finding out so soon!"
"No need to apologize,"
Sighing, you take a step back to give space between your faces but didn't let go the grip he has on your wrists, "It's true that it's embarrassing that I've been found out but with you giving that talk of yours, I couldn't get mad or upset at you for knowing,"
"But,"
You leaned to him a little, whispering to him, "Please keep this secret between us, okay? If others have to know, they have to find out by themselves,"
He made a hand motion of zipping his mouth, "Mouth tightly shut and no one will hear a word out from me," You chuckled, letting a smile grace your lips as Cater mirrored it,
"Well, now that out of the-"
"Toutes nos félicitations! I know you're able to let it out, Mon étoile!"
"ROOK??"
📒 - end notes;

Your New Playlist
Kinda sad? Ig angst but not actually like, bad angst yk.
1k words
Stardew Valley
Warnings: crying, mentally beating yourself over a crush, self-sacrificing but not in a death kinda way, cussing (I think like one f word), Elliott is a theater kid you can't convince me otherwise,
I wanna do a part two, would anyone be interested? I know how much us Elliott simps want fanfiction. I'm probably gonna start on it anyway lol.
Yes I actually made this playlist smh ikik, you don't have to listen to it ofc but his aesthetic really fits my music taste, at least I feel so. I write my fanfiction as gender neutral as I can but if you ever spot any mistakes I'd love to fix it!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elliott's POV
My feet took me across the path leading to Leah's house. The gentle cotton clouds stretching their wisps across the blue sky, bright enough to blind me as though it were the sun that it surrounds. The gentle new Spring breeze froze my cheeks lightly as my eyes closed to avoid the same chill from the past winter.
Fresh Spring flowers and hidden vegetables encircled her yard as I made my way to knock against the dark wood door that always seemed thunderingly loud.
Leah peaked through the window by her door before I can see her face light up and reach for the door.
"Hey, c'mon in!" She opens the door wider to let me pass through. "How are you doing?"
"If I'm honest, a little troubled." I sigh looking forlornly to the floor.
"Come sit." Leah pulls me to her table and sits in the accompanying seat. "Tell me what you're thinking."
"Leah, what does it feel like to you before you admit you fancy someone?" I look up into her listening eyes before her face changes into slight shock.
"Hmmm." She brings her hand up to her chin as she ponders. "Well, you miss being around them when they're gone. You constantly find ways to connect anything back to them, like `oh they'd love this`, or `I should check up on them.` You care about their opinion more than others and you want to learn about them, even if it's the uninteresting things."
I slide my arms down onto the table, placing my head on top of them. That sounded exactly like what's happening. I had read about it a million times, falling gently in love with a close friend. Perhaps that interest to become friends was always attraction.
"I can't get enough of Y/N." I muffled through my folded arms sighing once again as I turned my head to finally look back up at Leah, the light stinging my eyes.
"Well maybe I could help you with getting more of them?" Leah smirked as she grabbed her phone from her pocket.
I lifted my head slightly panicked. "What are you doing?" I rushed out.
"Relax, I'm not telling Y/N. But they shared something with me. They have a wide music taste yes?"
I had heard some of their music. While they made us lunch, while they partake in their hobbies, when they hum near silently late at night on the beach. I nodded back thinking of how they never seemed to be signing along to a song similar to the others. Unpredictable, and absolutely captivating.
"Well one of their tastes in music is very folk-y and they mentioned how those songs reminded them of you. So they made a playlist of songs that remind themselves of you." Leah said looking down and scrolling through her phone.
They made a playlist about me. They actively want to remember and listen to things that remind themselves of me. I feel I might faint. Was this something that was common among friends? Was this nothing more than an act of kindness? Or something they decided to do on a whim?
"Here give me your phone I'll send it to you." She holds her hand out expectantly.
I quickly go to pull out the hardly used device. I had never had much use for it but if it could bring me any step closer to Y/N I wouldn't hesitate to learn.
Leah downloaded a music app, laughing at how I had no applications. Before leaving it opened on the playlist. "The Lonely, Ocean-Accompanied, Writer." It read. I reread it a couple times to convince myself it was real. A lovely name, but is that how they see me?
"Chill out, Romeo." Leah giggled. "I can practically see you overthinking everything. Just relax and listen to the songs, maybe they'll tell you something."
I wrapped my arms around her neck, hugging her closely before leaving to listen to the playlist.
~~~
As I shut the door behind me I pressed my back against it. I've never felt so scattered before. I looked for the volume button, turning it up before hitting play.
The songs, quiet but emotional. As though you had just lie down on the grass to cry or relieve tension or reminisce. They felt like a memory I had trouble recalling.
The songs seemed to renew me, before I heard one I distinctly remembered hearing before. From high-school theater club, a time in my life that was fond to me. I do remember Y/N telling me they loved musicals, hearing them hum along to Heathers while I wrote.
A song unlike most others on this list.
"When He Sees Me" from Waitress.
~~~
Y/N's POV
"Oh, Yoba. What if when he sees me, I like him and he knows it? What if he opens up a door, And I can't close it?" I belted out the lyrics as loud as I wanted, the tears streaming down my face unwavering.
The good side to owning your own farm is you could scream along to your songs without people to complain. You had been replaying this part of the song for awhile now. He was all you could seem to think about.
Your head was swarmed with thoughts of Elliott. Some where he reciprocated your feelings and others where he shut you out. Every time you built a daydream where he loved you unconditionally you trampled it with the thoughts of his rejection.
You brought your knees up to your chest, resting your head between them as you cried.
~~~
Elliott's POV
We had had conversations about musicals, perhaps that's why they chose this song? Maybe they thought since my school had a play of Waitress that it'd fit. But I know they liked other Waitress songs, why weren't those added? Only this one.
After that song came another, "I Hear A Symphony" one I've never heard. As the song started all I could see was Y/N. I could hear them singing along, their smile, their eyes averting to mine for the thousandth time.
Y/N was my symphony.
The powerful, breathtaking ocean couldn't compare to the awkward farmer that ran across town just to give me their best sweet pea flowers and be the first thing I saw as I left my quaint cabin.
They brought the motivation and inspiration for 8 hour writing sessions, they brought me food when they knew I'd forgotten to eat between writing the book and planning on what to write next.
They were something I could never dream of losing. I wished to live the rest of my life with their support.
If telling them my feelings means I'd lose them, then I couldn't dream of making such a selfish decision.
~~~
Y/N's POV
I trudged my way into town. After last night's crying session my eyes still felt a bit dry, if I'm honest I cried when I woke up as well. The loneliness felt suffocating in such a lonely little house. But I needed some new seeds. The stone path drawing all my attention as I walked.
As I walked into Pierre's it wasn't hard to tell that people could see something was off. After buying my seeds I felt a hand on my shoulder, turning around to find Elliott.
"Y/N are you feeling alright? You look as though you've been distressed lately." You motion to him to follow you and walks out of the store behind you.
You take a deep breath as you start to tear up a bit more. He reaches for your face as he lifts it up, looking at the pooling tears.
So many things, the things you could have said. But they didn't come up. Instead a vision of his face of discomfort at your confession. You couldn't bear it. You couldn't tell him.
"I've just been stressed. I'm sorry for worrying you, Elliott." You sigh, attempting to put up a fake smile as you wipe your eyes. He retracts his hand as he looks guilty. Fuck does he feel like it's his fault?
"Well I'm willing to listen to your troubles if you ever need." He also puts on a strained smile as you both part ways.
"This is for the best." They both whisper as they leave.
Sindria's Prophet #11
"... At least until we can get you to your room. You need to wake up before they ring the bell."
'What's goin' on..?' Why was my shoulder shaking?
"Is Mori okay?”
The sound of my nickname snapped me into consciousness. I pushed myself up and hummed in question. When I opened my eyes it took me a moment to adjust to the bright light. Everyone was standing in front of a gate.
"Did you sleep well?"
Why did this world have three suns? Wait. Two were Sinbad's eyes. That checks out.
I nodded with another hum. I wasn't able to form words yet, and even if I could I would have lost access from waking up to such a beautiful sight.
I missed his response since I was still half asleep, but I did hear Ja'far repeating his words from earlier.
"Please, try to stay awake for a little while. When we step through, they will ring the bell to announce Sin's arrival home. We didn't want you waking up from the shock."
I had to repeat his words in my mind to hold onto them.
"Oh. Thank you for waking me."
Even with their best efforts I didn't have enough time to get clear headed before the bell was rang to announce the return of the King. I ended up jolting anyway.
I was glad to still be on Aladdin's flying turban. I couldn't focus if my life depended on it. I had some energy since I had just been resting and I was still mostly numb from sleep so my aches and pains weren't affecting me yet. After being sick for so long, I was in serious need of serotonin, so I couldn't shake the waves of excitement building in me as I realized I really was in Sinbad's Palace. It's one thing to read about something and another to actually experience it. I knew I had said I would see a doctor as soon as I arrived, but I couldn't stop myself from going into full geek mode and just wanting to look around.
In other words, I was a weak, energetic, space cadet without a filter -prime condition to make an idiot and/or nuisance of myself- if I couldn't find something to force me to "sober" up and start masking.
---
~POV Sin~
Horns announced the King's return to his Palace as the group walked through its gate. Many of the guards and civil servants present gave their welcome. The looks of awe on his guests' faces as they walked through the entrance to the court yard boosted Sinbad's already large ego.
Alibaba's and Aladdin's excitement had started to wane after walking so long, but Mori had the same look she wore when she first got on the ship. Now that Sinbad had seen her like that before, he knew better than to try to engage her in something she wasn't already thinking about. It was a lot like dealing with Yamuraiha after the magicians made a breakthrough. But that didn't mean he wouldn't still try to tease her if he had the opportunity; he'd just have to try a different method.
It was a bit of a relief to see Mori so energetic after the previous night. He would still have the doctors sent to her asap though.
Given how important his guests were, Sinbad decided to escort them, himself, to the Green Sagittarius Tower. Placing the 3 kids in the guest tower was a given since they hadn't agreed to any partnerships yet. The Purple Leo Tower was where Sinbad and his most trusted lived; as much as he wanted to move Mori in there with them immediately, Sinbad knew it would be better to wait until the others learned to trust her, so his Prophet was going to have to stay in the Green Sagittarius Tower for now. This would also give them more time to prepare her permanent room.
Ja'far raised his voice slightly to get all of the guests' attention as he explained a little about the Tower. Masrur took his cue to leave. The Fanalis raised his hand in a half hearted wave as he turned away from the group and started to walk away. The King watched one General leave as he heard the other lead his guests into the Tower.
It was his time to head off too. The rest of his Generals that had been left at home would be showing up to greet him -there was a lot to catch up on. As Sinbad had started to leave, the waves encouraged him to look back at the guest tower. Mori was standing watching him instead of following Ja'far. She had her bag in her arms instead of on her back.
"Is something wrong?"
"I know I should go rest and wait for a doctor, but," she looked at him with an odd expression -like she was seeing through him, "the waves keep pointing me that way." She pointed at the direction he was going.
She was right. The waves would have her follow him
instead of Ja'far.
"It's Drakon!" Mori gasped and her eyes grew. She gave a small laugh to herself. "The first Household Member is the first to show up."
Sure enough, the only member of Sinbad's Household that had fully assimilated with his Djinn's power had entered the court yard.
If she had this much energy and the waves wanted her out here then it should be fine. "Would you like to meet him now?"
Mori looked up at him shocked and expectant. "Is that okay???” It was like he was the center of her world in that moment.
"As long as you feel up to it." This was a good feeling.
She squeezed her bag in her arms. Mori seemed to become like a clingy child when she was unwell. If he had told her to go rest would she have begged him to stay and clung to him like she had before?
Her eyes grew determined. "I will have energy for about an hour. I'll go rest when I start to wear out, and I will ask for help if I need it -you don't have to remind me." Was she this direct because she was sick?
Drakon's deep voice came from behind Sinbad. "Welcome home, my friend."
The King turned to face his General. "It's good to be back."
"How did things end in Balbadd? When we heard about you loosing your metal vessels we got a little worried but it looks like you got them back." He laughed at the end. Drakon knew better than most that his King always manages to come out on top no matter what happens to him. He stiffened slightly. "Hmm? Who's this?” The General noticed Mori before Sinbad had a chance to answer his other questions.
Time for introductions then. "Drakon, this is Mori. She's the prophet I told Yam about." The King gestured towards her.
Mori put her bag down and when she stood up she had full composure. She offered a hand to the General. "It's an honor to meet you, Drakon. I read all about you when I read Fate." If Sinbad didn't know any better he would have no idea Mori had nearly died of fever only a few hours ago -she only looked tired. She was much better at acting than he expected. How long could she hide it though?
Drakon looked more dragon than man now making most uneasy around him, yet Mori didn't seem scared of him at all. Was it because she was hiding it or because she had read Fate? Actually, there was a strange glint in her eyes he couldn't place.
"Oh?” Drakon took her up on the handshake she offered. It was rare for someone not to flinch upon seeing him for the first time; Mori was definitely making a good first impression. "I must admit that I'm curious about this ability of yours."
The glint in Mori's eye grew into a full sparkle.
Their handshake didn't sit right with King Sinbad.
When their hands released, Mori put her hands in her pockets like she often did.
"Would you like an example?" Her smile didn't give anything away. "Before you were shipped out to Baal's Dungeon you tried to be noble and charming to Serendine but she responded by talking about how you followed her around 'like a baby duck' when you were little. Then she made you promise not to die." The waves were building around Mori again.
Serendine must have really said that. Drakon might not look human anymore, but Sinbad could still read his friend's expressions plain as day. Drakon was shocked by the first thing she said, and she was only just starting. Mori really was amazing.
"I know! Let me show you what I've got copied down so far" Mori squat down to her bag. She pulled out and opened a scroll, "Yeah. This one." She stood up with the scroll in hand and swayed a bit on the way up -she couldn't hide her condition fully.
Mori stepped between the King and his General, and turned so they were all facing the same direction. She raised the scroll so it would be easier to see. "Honestly, I had some other things to write down before I could start copying down Fate. I didn't start this until getting onto the ship, so please excuse the sloppiness."
Mori's handwriting looked rushed, like she couldn't get all of this out fast enough. Sinbad had barely gotten to start reading before she continued unrolling to reveal a detailed illustration of a family of three.
"That's-!" It was Sinbad and his parents when he was little.
Drakon glanced at his King, "Sin, are those people your parents?"
"Yup." Mori responded without looking up. "He looks a lot like Badrr, doesn't he?"
Back in Balbadd, Mori had said that she had read his life from his birth to his death, but it was different seeing undeniable proof.
She scrolled past more text and past another illustration and didn't stop until she got to a drawing of child Drakon following Serendine just like she had described. Mori continued scrolling through her work, and each image brought on more comments. There was an illustration of Sinbad meeting Yunan which she gratefully skipped past, a few of inside Baal and one from when Sinbad killed the Abare Narwhal in place of-
"Is this one of me? I look so young!!" The Imuchakk towered over all of them.
Mori whipped her head up. "Hinahoho?!" She wobbled from her quick movement. Sinbad placed a hand at her back to steady her; Mori didn't even react to his hand, instead she put all of her weight on it so she could stare up at the man behind them for a moment. That excited smile spread across her face. "Hello! It's nice to meet you. Please call me Mori."
Sinbad had purposefully gestured for Hina to stay quiet when he came up behind them so as not to distract Mori, but this was fine too.
"So this is where you went!" Ja'far came back from getting the three kids settled into their room.
Mori's smile was unwavering as she stood back on her own, unrolled the scroll to the next image and flipped it around for Ja'far to see. "We just got to your entrance. Care to join us?"
"Lady Prophet, I know you slept on your way here, but you were barely able to get off the ship before you had to lay down. Did you forget you're sick??"
Both Generals that had been looking at the scroll murmured questions about Mori's condition while the Prophet said nothing. At least Ja'far's words would have explained who Mori was for Hinahoho.
Ja'far's eyes wandered to the scroll in Mori's hands; his shoulders jolted when he realized what he was looking at. "Is that me??” He stepped closer to get a better look. After studying the image he looked up at the person holding it. "Did you make this?"
"Yes and yes."
The Prophet and the youngest General present watched each other for an opening.
Mori broke their silence. "I will go rest when I finish showing this scroll. We are almost done anyway."
Ja'far sighed. "Fine." He walked up next to Sinbad to join the group. Even if he tried to deny it, he couldn't fully hide his interest. "What is this scroll you've made?"
Mori turned
the scroll back around so the rest were able to see an image of when Ja'far attacked Sinbad in his sleep back when he was still an assassin. "Since I'm Sindria's Prophet now, I am copying down Fate so it will be easier to keep in order than thinking about it. This is just a draft though. After I have everything written down I'll go back and make it better."
That explanation was perfectly timed as two more Generals had join the group from behind -not that Mori seemed to notice.
Next was an image of Hina in a cave being surrounded by insects.
"Hold on. I never told anyone about that."
Mori stopped scrolling at Hinahoho's comment.
"What is this?" Sinbad asked his General.
But it was Mori who answered. "When Hinahoho first entered Valefor's Dungeon he was swarmed by Blooderflies."
"'Blooderflies?'" All six repeated back at her.
"Butterflies that drink blood," she explained confidently. When none of them responded she tensed. Sinbad could see her turn a little pink as she said to herself, "I thought it was a clever name."
"I think it's hilarious!" Pisiti said before breaking into giggles.
Mori jolted, "It's Pisti this time!" and started to look around for the source of the voice. She spotted the Artemyran that was shorter than herself and the man standing behind her. "And Sharkkan!”
Sinbad could see Yamuraiha and Spartos in the distance. As soon as they were all introduced he'd have Mori head to bed -end of the scroll or not; the waves from earlier would be reaching their peak soon and she had almost fell over twice already. Of course, he wouldn't mind catching her again, but he didn't want her pushing herself in her current condition.
The cocky prince had his hands on his hips. "Are you really a Prophet or our biggest fan?"
"Maybe I'm both," Mori answered with a smile. Her face was a little red.
Was she flirting with Sharkkan??
"That so?" Sharkkan smirked and leaned between Drakon and Hinahoho to get a closer look at her. "When they said there was a real prophet I was expecting some old hag, not a cutie like you."
Mori's eyes dilated and she gave a small gasp. Seeing Mori get embarrassed from compliments was something that Sinbad normally enjoyed, but this time it put a bad taste in his mouth. And did Sharkkan have to get so close to her?
Mori clearly agreed since she attempted to step away from the flirtiest of the Eight Generals. She must have forgotten about her own bag though, as she tripped over it and fell backwards right into Sinbad's arms.
Mori didn't try to stand back up at all. She looked up at the King and after a moment she hid her face behind the scroll she was holding. ”I-I am not a klutz!”
"Oh?" Sinbad smiled down at her. This was much better. "Then did you intentionally fall-”
Mori clapped a hand over his mouth. "No! Shut up! I blame you for this!” She pulled the scroll into her chest, but it unrolled anyway. She was doing a poor job of hiding her enjoyment of his teasing.
He laughed into her hand and she went quiet. Her blush started traveling down her neck since her face couldn't contain it all. This was a much stronger reaction than he normally got from her. He was clearly the only one that could pull such cute expressions out of Mori. Sinbad kissed the palm hiding his lips, and when she pulled it back to herself with an "Ah!" he knew he had to tease her more.
"Are you saying you're really swooning for me then, my Beautiful Prophet?"
"I-!" Mori couldn't bring herself to deny it and pulled the scroll back up to her face. She still wasn't trying to stand on her own or leave his arms.
"That's a good atmosphere."
*Whistles*
"You don't think ...?"
"OH MY-!"
See? No one could seduce a woman better than he could.
Mori finally found her rebuttal. "Do you have any idea what it feels like to be surrounded by your waves near constantly??"
He hadn't thought about that. Mori's waves were constantly opening new paths for Fate to flow. They have felt advantageous and that they would help him reach his goals. He wanted to keep her close to see what other changes she would make. And of course he had felt that she was going to live out the rest of her life in Sindria. But what did his waves feel like to her?
She looked up at him as angry as she was embarrassed. "I only slipped on the ramp and just now, and-and fell off of the bowsprit last night, because your waves crashed into me!”
That caught him off guard. "You knew it was me last night?"
"YES!" Mori's voice cracked at the end; she was still recovering so all this talking must have been wearing her out. "You're the only one who's waves feel like this." She broke eye as she got to the end.
Mori could identify him from his waves? There were certain people who's waves stood out to him as well -like hers-, but Sinbad was still not used to anyone else being able to feel the waves. This meant that he had kept quiet for nothing. It also meant that Mori had clung to him knowing who he was -maybe she wouldn't have accepted comfort from just anyone.
Her voice was almost inaudible. "When I realized it was you I was relieved. I've gotten hurt in the past when I was sick because I was alone so, ... thank you for taking care of me."
Just like when he had first learned that Mori could feels the waves, he was happy he was already holding her. He wanted to pull her closer like he had last time as well.
Yam let out a gasp while landing.
"WAIT!" Ja'far had been about to cut in to stop their antics anyway, but this was a completely different issue. "Mori, can you feel the waves of Fate like Sin??"
The King and the Prophet both stared at Ja'far for a few moments before answering in unison, "Yes."
((Hey everybody. Pretty sure you can guess why this chapter took so long. I just really wanted to draw so much of this chapter in comic form UwU Also, a bunch of life things got in the way. Now that everything is opening back up I can't work from home anymore. I'm very sensitive to the heat so I have to rest and cool down after each drive which really cuts into the time I have each day. -_-
Ja'far stared in disbelief at his King. "Sin, you knew?? Are you sure?"
With the mood completely ruined Sinbad helped Mori stand up properly. She grabbed his sleeve to keep herself steady and he left his arm around her waist just in case.
All of Sinbad's Generals -sans Masrur who had already left- were watching him. Mori had many abilities that made her extremely valuable, but they also made her a prime target to any of their enemies. The more her value is known the bigger the target on her will be, and Mori wasn't a fighter. Sinbad had already told all of them that Mori was a Prophet since she had already made that skill known to others, and it was something he wanted to use -there was no way he could hide it. His Generals had kept the fact that he could feel the waves a secret this whole time, so they would be able to keep her secret as well.
"Mori can definitely feel the waves of Fate. But you should know it is different from her ability as a prophet." He figured he should clear that up before they asked. Sinbad didn't know how they were different, but he had enough information to know they were.
Mori's voice was a little horse and on the weak side. "Since King Sinbad and Ja'far eavesdropped on my conversation with Aladdin there's no reason to hide it."
The King and his partner in crime froze. SHE KNEW HE HAD SPIED ON HER. Did his waves give him away?
Mori continued, "I can only read the Fates of realities that I am not currently in. It's not the same as different planets; It's a different universe with different rules." She rolled up the scroll while explaining. "The one I came from doesn't have Rukh, magoi, magic, or Djinn, but we did have 1500 to 2000 more years of scientific development compared to this world-" She was cut off by a short coughing fit.
Sinbad looked down at Mori. She was getting worse by the second. It was most likely fever and not embarrassment making her cheeks red in this moment. "It seems I've pushed you too hard while you are still recovering. My apologies." It was time to send the prophet to bed. He pulled at her waist lightly. "Let's get you to your room so you can rest."
Mori shook her head. "I have one more thing I want to say first."
"Fine." If it wasn't for the look in her eyes he would have refused her.
Mori's voice was getting worse so she had to take breaks in her speech. "I don't know what caused me to slip from my reality into this one, but I'm here now ... I fully intend to use my knowledge to help this world... But since I can't read this world's Fates anymore, I don't know how my changes will affect things..." She gripped the scroll like a life line. "As much as I'd like to answer the questions you all must have now... my voice is really starting to hurt, so I'd like to go rest."
Sinbad sighed. "Of course." It was a tough note to leave on, but her health came first. They'd have plenty of time to talk once she was better.
On a side note, I will be drawing Storpas (lol) in the next chapter. Don't worry, I didn't forget him.
It will probably be another 2 weeks or so before I finish the next chapter since I have less time to work on it now.))
ult. group questions! (i am sorry this is SO late)
thank you @cha-lan for tagging me!
i’ll tag @heartshxkr and @woozisnoots (to support the meteor garden watching group!) and anyone else who would like to do this!
directions: answer the following questions based on your ult group(s).
I actually have 5 ult groups, but for this, i’ll stick with my main ones: bts and seventeen!
1) who as your first bias?
bts: surprisingly to me, my first bias was namjoon, and he was also my first ever kpop bias. I'm pretty sure he became my bias because he was the only member I recognized for the first two weeks before I learned the other member's names
svt: if I am remembering correctly, it was either jihoon or minghao. though, the first member to catch my eye was jun in the don't wanna cry music video.
2) who is your bias now?
bts: seokjin! he created my bias type (for bgs); vocalists, and members of hyung lines. I just love how funny he is and how he isn't afraid to do anything (like cut his hair with kitchen scissors when the company refuses to let him cut his hair)
svt: ...there are five of them. in order, soonyoung, jun, wonwoo, jihoon and seungcheol. basically, the 96 line and the leader line. though, they do fight over the top spot a lot, especially jun and soonyoung. though after silent boarding gate, I think jun might be #1
3) what is the first ever mv you watched by them?
bts: it was dope! since it was in october of 2017, i'm really confused how it wasn't dna. but my first three were dope, save me and spring day!
svt: don't wanna cry! also in october of 2017. I think the first three were don't wanna cry, boom boom and adore u? I don't really remember the 2nd and 3rd ones lol
4) what's your favorite mv?
bts: hands down, spring day. not only is it my favorite era and song by them, but it was also the time of grape joon and that must never be forgotten. though, stay gold and hearbeat are close seconds.
svt: ...do I have to pick? I guess i'll say; change up (because i'm a leader line stan), fallin' flower (because it's freaking beautiful), oh my! (because that's my favorite era) and don't wanna cry (because it's the first mv I saw).
5) if you could listen to one of their songs for the rest of your life, which would it be?
bts: maybe...heartbeat? I just really like the song and the mv is amazing! if I couldn't pick heartbeat, I think i'd pick fly to my room
svt: either moonwalker, call call call, rocket or no f.u.n. I am very bad at picking one song lol. but I wouldn't mind listening to any of these for the rest of my life
6) who would you want to see them collab with?
bts: I actually have the same answers for both groups, but i'll say one for each. so the first option is TROYE SIVAN. I ~love~ louder than bombs, and to have them actually create a song together would be so freaking amazing I would cry.
svt: the second option is 5 Seconds of Summer. I think it would be really cool to see either bts or svt work with 5sos and make a rock/pop punk genre song, since that is pretty different compared to what both groups make.
7) what mv concept do you want to see them do?
bts: I really want to see them do something similar to maniac by conan grey or universe by exo? i'm a sucker for those types of songs and seeing bts do that would be amazing.
svt: i'm thinking something along the lines of view by shinee / 4 walls by f(x). I really like those styles and I think svt could pull it off.
8) have you ever had a dream with any of the members in it?
bts: I know for a fact I had a dream with yoongi in it once, like a year ago, but I can't remember what happened in it for the life of me
svt: after watching silent boarding gate the day it was released I had a dream similar to that mv, but I was obvs the girl in the mv and I didn't leave jun cause I could never do that to him
9) if you could spend the day with one member, who would it be, and what would you do?
bts: i would absolutely love to spend a day with seokjin. not only because he is my bias, but because he just seems so fun and energetic and I want to hang out with someone who can make me laugh and act chaotic.
svt: ...i have an idea for each of my biases so because I can't pick here they all are; with seungcheol, i'd want to go on a midnight drive to nowehere, kinda like my drabble, all my love. with jun, all I could think about is a cat cafe date...just...ugh I would love that. with soonyoung, I would love to go to karaoke or an arcade. he just seems so fun to hang out with, so we’d need to so somewhere that we can be chaotic. with wonu, I would love to go to one of those HUGE libraries and just kind of explore and read. lastly, with jihoon, I would love for him to teach me how to produce music. I’ve always had an interest in that and having someone like jihoon teach me, I would cry.
10) which member do you think you would get on best with?
bts: either yoongi or jungkook, tbh. with yoongi, we’re both pretty quiet, but we can also be loud and we have similar personalities. with jungkook, we both like games and have a lot of interests and we’d definitely be able to have a long discussion about the things we love.
svt: most likely either chan or seungkwan. chan and I are both used to being the youngest when with friends and we’re sick of it lmao. with seungkwan, I feel like we’d playfully argue a lot? and I do that with my friends anyway so I think we’d get a long like we’ve been friends forever.
11) which member would you think you would argue with?
bts: most likely taehyung, I think we’d end up arging over whether we are arguing or having a discussion. we’re just kinda like that I guess lol.
svt: hands down, jeonghan. I would fight him in a heartbeat whether there was a purpose or not or whether it was verbally or physically. there is just something about him and his slytherin energy (let’s ignore the fact that i am also a slytherin).
12) if you had to choose one member to scroll through your tumblr, who would it be?
bts: probably jimin or yoongi. jimin would just laugh at everything and yoongi would just silently judge me.
svt: either vernon or jihoon. vernon would most likely say something along the lines of “you do you” and move on with his day, and jihoon would be similar to yoongi, but instead of silently judging me, he’d say everything he’s thinking out loud. rip.
Untangle Me
Chapter One - McGuire’s Pub
.........
"Come on, Molly, you never do anything fun! It's only one night, and it wouldn't be the same without you!"
Molly sighed as she rolled her eyes at her coworker and friend. "That's not true, Hannah. I do plenty of fun things.." She muttered as she continued to straighten up her classroom. Due to the rainy weather outside, she'd been forced to keep her toddlers inside, and they'd practically trashed the room out of boredom. Ahh, the life of a preschool teacher...
"Pffft, sure you do. You work and you babysit. And when you're not watching kids, you go home and watch Netflix, am I right? Don't even try to deny it. Besides, what is one night out going to hurt?" Hannah asked. Her brow was raised as she gave Molly a smug smirk. She was right and she knew it.
Molly sighed and opened her mouth to speak, but she was quickly cut off by her friend once more.
"You haven't even had a night out since you broke up with Asher..."
Molly tensed a bit as she turned to look at Hannah. A hard glare was evident in her eyes. "That's not fair." She said firmly. Molly hadn't had the best relationship with Asher, and though it took so long for her to admit it to herself, breaking up with him had been the best thing she'd ever done for herself. But, it still was painful. She'd spent years with him, and it was hard to just let all of that go.
Hannah frowned at the look on her friend's face. She was regretful of her words, or rather, how she'd put them. She knew Asher was a tough subject for Molly and she should have never brought him up. Still, she knew a night out with her friends was exactly what Molly needed, even if she didn't see it. "Look, I'm sorry. I'm just worried about you, that's all. You're always doing things for others, but you never do anything for yourself. I think a night out is just what you need. "
Molly sighed as she placed the last stray toy on the shelf. She really just wanted to go home and have a relaxing night in, but perhaps there was some truth in what Hannah was saying. "You know what...fine, I'll go. But just this once, okay? And you have to promise not to harass me about going out again."
A bright grin spread across Hannah's face as she nodded eagerly. "Deal! We're meeting at McGuire's pub at 8:30, don't be late! I swear you're going to have the best time! You won't regret it!"
.....
And so that's how Molly found herself seated at a table with Hannah and Sophie, surrounded by drunk people and loud Irish music. If she was honest, this wasn't her cup of tea and she longed to go home, but she didn't want to disappoint her friends. So, she sipped idly at a glass of wine and took in her surroundings the best she could.
Sophia and Hannah had gotten lost in their own conversation, and though Molly knew they weren't trying to exclude her in any way, she felt like a third wheel and didn't want to butt into the conversation. Using the excuse of getting a second glass of wine, Molly stood from the table and made her way toward the surprisingly less crowded bar and took a seat. She let out a quiet sigh as she pulled out her phone from her pocket and began scrolling through her notifications. She quickly got lost in her own little world until she was interrupted by the feeling of an arm wrapping around her waist.
With a gasp, Molly looked up to see the smiling face of a man about her age, maybe a bit older. "There you are, Sweetheart, I wondering where you'd gotten off to." He said in a thick Australian accent. His bold actions and words earned a look of complete bewilderment from Molly. Who was this man and what the hell did he think he was doing?
"I..." Molly started, but she paused when the man leaned forward to whisper in her ear.
"Just play along...The man beside you slipped something into your drink. " He whispered, causing Molly to tense. She did her best not to look at the man beside her or her drink. Instead, she forced a smile and looked up at the oddly familiar man.
"Hey! Just thought I'd wait for you at the bar." She told him. Molly wondered if her face betrayed her confusion, and perhaps her fear. She really hoped not, though she did have a hard time controlling her expressions.
"Good call." The man replied before looking to the bartender. He ordered himself a Guinness before turning his attention to Molly. "And what do you want, Love?" Damn this man was laying it on thick, wasn't he?"
"Oh,um, just water with lime please." She said to the bartender, forcing a smile. She wanted to get away from this whole situation, but it seemed she was rather stuck. If she walked away now, it'd be quite clear to the man who attempted to drug her that she wasn't with the man who was being far too familiar with her for her liking.
Thankfully the man seemed to note Molly's discomfort, so he removed his arm from her waist before reaching for her hand. "Want to step outside a bit?" He asked her in a whisper, to which Molly nodded as she quickly slid off the barstool, not letting go of her water for a moment. She kept a hold of the man's hand as they weaved through the crowd of people and headed straight toward the outdoor seating area.
Molly was apprehensive about going outside with this man, and understandably so. She didn't know him, she didn't know his intentions. Still, he had saved her from something horrible, and though looks could be deceiving, he seemed completely harmless.
As they stepped out into the cool autumn air, Molly let out a shaky breath that she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Her hand was still holding on to the man's hand as he led her to an empty table toward the back of the patio.
"I'd let you keep it if I didn't need it." The man teased with a grin as he gently tugged his hand away from Molly's grip.
Molly felt her cheeks burn with a blush and she quickly stuffed her hand into the pocket of her skinny jeans. She cleared her throat and took a seat at the table. "Sorry about that...Uh, thank you for...back there. I should have been paying more attention." She said.
A soft smile tugged at his lips as the man took a seat across from Molly at the table. "It's alright. I can tell your mind is a bit preoccupied. I'm just glad I got to you before you took a sip." He said. His smile faded slightly as the gravity of the situation seemed to hit him. However, his smile quickly returned as he offered his hand to Molly once more. "My name's Lachlan, uh, but my friends call me Lachy."
Molly slipped her hand into his and shook it gently, her smile mirroring his. "It's nice to meet you Lachy, despite the circumstances. I'm Molly." She couldn't help but wonder why he seemed so familiar to her. There had to be somewhere she'd seen him before, though she couldn't think of where. It wasn't really all that common to see an Australian in Folly Beach, South Carolina...
Molly was once again pulled from her thoughts by the sound of a muttered curse. She looked at Lachy to see an apologetic look on his face. "I have to go. My set starts in ten minutes." Molly must have had a confused expression on her face because Lachy gestured toward the door as he continued. "My uh, my band. We're playing next. I'm sure they're wondering where I'm at. Uh...You could come with me if you want? I'm sure it'd be okay for you to stand where out guitar cases are..."
Molly nodded slowly. "Oh, of course. Yeah, you should go." She said, smiling a bit. "I have friends here, actually. And they're probably wondering where I went. I should go find them." She explained.
Lachy gave her a curious look, and Molly figured he was wondering why she'd separated from her friends, but thankfully he didn't question it. Instead, he scratched the back of his neck nervously. "I see. Well, uh, if you're planning on staying for a while, would you like to have a drink after the set?"
Molly hesitated for a moment before she responded with a nod. She didn't know this guy, she really shouldn't be agreeing to spend time with him, but she felt she owed him at least a drink. He did potentially save her life, after all. Besides, she was certain Sophia and Hannah would be in their own little world the rest of the night anyway if they hadn't found guys to dance with already, that is. "Sure, that sounds nice." She said, offering him one more smile.
Lachy's smile brightened a bit as he offered her his hand, which Molly took against her better judgment and the two made their way back into the bar. After a quick 'see you later", they quickly went their separate ways, Lachy heading toward the small stage while Molly returned to the table with her friends. She wasn't even certain they had realized she had slipped away until Hannah gave her an accusing look.
"And where the hell have you been?" She asked her. "You slipped away to get another glass of wine almost 45 minutes ago!"
Molly bit her lip and held up her glass of water. "Uh, long story." She said as she slid into the chair she'd occupied previously.
"Mhmm, and who was that guy you were walking back in with?" Sophia questioned. A sly smirk tugged at her lips, and Molly had to stop herself from rolling her eyes.
"Just a guy I met. He kinda saved me from a potentially bad situation." She said with a shrug before she sipped the cold water. "Apparently someone slipped something into my drink." She held her hand up before her friends could begin freaking out. "Don't worry, I didn't drink any of it. Thankfully he was there."
"Molly, you have to pay attention. That's why it's better to stay with the group you came with." Hannah's voice was edged with annoyance, but Molly ignored it.
"Well, I'm fine." She left the conversation at that, not offering to say anything else on the matter as the sound of Irish folk music began to drift through the pub. Molly turned her attention to the stage, and her eyes widened slightly as she looked at the other people who joined Lachy on the stage. At least two of them seemed familiar as well, and she knew exactly where she'd seen them before.
"Molly, you okay?" Hannah asked, having noticed the strange expression on her friend's face. "I take it you recognize them?"
Molly looked to Hannah, her eyes were still wide with shock. "Why are the..."
Sophie interrupted Molly as she yelled out over the loud music. "They have 21 and up gig at Irish pubs and bars when they tour the U.S. and Canada, we thought it might be fun to go. We see enough of them at work, after all, maybe their adult shows aren't so bad. Oh don't look so put out, it's going to be fun! They sing Irish and Scottish Folk music from what I understand."
"But the damn Wiggles?" Molly asked, in exasperation. That's where she'd seen Lachy before. She'd seen him almost daily on the classroom TV for 30 minutes before the toddlers went down for their nap. The same man on stage, singing the first few lines of Loch Lomond was the same man who pretended to fall asleep in the most random places on her toddlers' favorite tv show.
"Well, their band is called the Unusual Commoners. But yes, three of them, at least are Wiggles." Hannah replied with a snorted laugh. "What, you didn't recognize him earlier?"
Molly's eyes widened again as the girls continued with their giggles. "You look shocked...We saw you step out with him, and no, we didn't think you knew who he was...You should get his number, he's a cutie." Sophie teased. Her words were slurred a bit, which told Molly she'd probably already had more than enough alcohol for the night.
Molly rolled her eyes and sipped her drink. She didn't dignify that comment with a response as she turned her attention back to the stage where the man she'd just spent almost an hour with was singing his heart out and playing the hell out of a guitar. She had to admit, he was good, very good.
"For a Wiggle." She murmured with a small smile as she settled in her chair to enjoy the rest of the set.
Lost in a Dream World
Part 8: past the kingdom walls
You quickly found that this Shoji was exactly like your world's Shoji, kind but extremely quiet. You gave up on small talk about 10 minutes into your long walk and there was an uncomfortable silence ever since. The Edgelands was composed entirely of jagged lava rocks, the ground was always rumbling, and it was terribly hot. Shoji was right, it was hell. Every once and awhile there was a huge gust of wind from nowhere and Shoji would order you to hid under him. He'd wrap his arms around you like a protective shield and get close to the ground. The ground was so hot it burned your exposed skin, but Shoji held you down until the wind subsided.
"This is land of dragons" he explained after the third time "We're trespassing and they know we're here"
'Dragons?' You felt scared and giddy at the same time. This world was unbelievable, no one at home would take you seriously when you told then there were dragons here. You frowned thinking about home. Shoji decided it was time to take a rest and you passively agreed, grabbing one of the heavier packs Todoroki had given Shoji and opening it. You blinked as you looked down at the pile of gold inside the bag, lifting a piece to inspect more closely. "This is what we've been carrying? What the hell?"
One of Shoji's hands slapped over his mouth and he shushed you harshly. "Too loud (Y/n)! Put that away it's dangerous!"
The wind started up again stronger than before and you yelped as Shoji threw you into his back and started running. You turned and saw a huge silver dragon flying after you. A scream escaped your lips and a hand was slapped over your mouth again. "This isn't the time!" Shoji hissed, lunging to the side as blue flames scorched the land you had just been standing on. 'I'm gonna die' you thought, looking back at the dragon with wide terrified eyes. "Throw something at it!" Shoji commanded and you threw the gold bar that was still in your hand.
Surprisingly the dragon hesitated at the sight of the shiny metal. You let out a cautious breath and Shoji slowed his pace to a jog. You continued in silence and Shoji set you down after a while. The two of you walked side by side when the path was wide enough. The heat was making you dizzy and your body was drenched in sweat. Was it getting hotter? You glanced up and see a shadow scaling the rock face above you, too small to be a dragon. It looks like a person. You nudge Shoji "I think there's a person."
Shoji tenses and uses his extra arms to scan the jagged rock face. Your daggers are pushed in your hands and you both slow your pace. "Don't be fooled" he hisses at you "Some dragons can shape shift."
You swallow loudly and push forward with caution, trying your best not to hyperventilate. It was so hot, you felt like you were melting. The sun was going down in the sky, but the air didn't get any cooler. Shoji notices you struggling and slows down so you can rest.
"We're almost at the edge" Shoji stated taking your bag from you and handing you a canteen. You stare at your feet, chewing your bottom lip uncomfortably. You missed Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida. You wished they were here to talk to you. It wouldn't be so awkward if Shoji would just talk to you.
"Can you tell me about this world?" You said after a long drink of warm water.
Shoji paused for so long you thought he was going to ignore your question. "I guess I'll start from the beginning..."
Shoji explained how in the beginnging both kingdoms were united as one. Then suddenly the dragons appeared and brought magic with them. The magic attracted dangerous creatures like the goblins and society started to crumble. Some humans were able to harness the power of the magic, other were transformed into different creatures when they came into contact with a vein of magic (like Shoji had, you wondered what he looked like before). There was a great war between magic users and non magic users and the Edgelands was the battle field. The war stretched on for years until the dragons stepped in, making the Edgelands their home and not allowing the warring sides to cross over.
"There's been peace after that" Shoji finished he leaned against a large boulder and sighed. " the merchant's path is the only place magic and non magic users can mix, but they don't let you cross. There's a barrier. Here's the only weak spot."
He used three hands to gesture ahead. There was a huge ravine with floating boulders in between. You got as close to the edge as you dared and looked over the side, you couldn't see the bottom. Your stomach churned. You glanced back at Shoji and saw he was starting to head back the way you came. "Whoa, wait a minute!" You rushed after him and grabbed his shirt. "I thought you were supposed to take me to the other kingdom!"
"This is as far as I go" he responded, patting your head and making you blush. "The Kingdom of magic is on the other side of the ravine."
You felt sick to your stomach. Shoji pull away from you and disappeared into the edgelands. You looked over the edge of the ravine again and then at the rocks floating above. There were several layers of boulders, if you fell off one you might get lucky and land on another. You weren't sure what to do. You opened your pack to grab some food and groaned, face palming as you looked at the mound of gold. You couldn't eat gold and without Shoji you couldn't find your way back to the Todoroki kingdom.
"Heeeeeyyyy!" A voice called from the other side of the ravine.
You looked up surprised searching for the source of the voice.
"Over here! What are you doing over there?" A pink skinned girl yelled, waving her arms over her head.
"I'm stuck!" You call back "Can you help me?"
The girl laughs and makes her way over to you, jumping effortlessly from boulder to boulder. It takes her only a few minutes to reach you. "Come on!" Mina smiles "I have someone waiting for me so we have to hurry! Plus it's not safe outside the barrier."
She holds your hand as she leads you over the dangerous ravine. The floating boulders are much more stable than you thought they would be and closer together. Mina chartered the whole way across, a nice change of pace from the awkward silences you experienced before. You try to explain your situation to her, but she just laughs. Your phone had been dead for hours, so you didn't have any proof this time. It didn't seem to matter much to Mina, she seemed glad to help out anyway. Even when you made it to the other side of the ravine Mine held your hand tightly. She lead you towards the towering walls of the kingdom chatting away.
Once inside the walls you audibly gasped. The city was full of people and overlooked the ocean, completely different from the forest you had been in days before. Mina pulled you through the crowd, weaving through people at a fast pace. She lead you through the market square where booths were selling all sorts of strange objects, animals, and... People. You made eye contact with a young boy and guilt bubbled up in your throat. The pink skinned girl didn't stop, she pulled you into a back street and knocked on a wall. You jumped when a hand reach through and pulled you through.
"Mina you can't keep doing this! You're going to get caught!"
"Kaminari?" You ask reaching you hands out in the dark.
A candle was lit and revealed blonde boy with a black lighting bolt marked in his hair. His eyes were wide with surprise and Mina giggled. "They says they're from a different world with copies of us in it!" She squealed, running around the room to light more candles "I wasn't going to bring anymore non magic users but this one is different!"
"No kidding..." Kaminari mumbled, looking you up and down "they're wearing other kingdom clothes, they're gonna get caught!"
"It's fiiiine! I'll take them shopping!" Mina was so happy running around the small room.
You reached over to touch Kaminari's arm and yelped when you got shocked. Kaminari blushed and put his hands up "Sorry! I got hit with lightning near a magic vein and now I shock everything I touch."
Your eyes were wide with surprise and you had an idea. Digging around the bag Midoriya had bought you, you fished out your phone and a charging cable. You plug one end into your crack phone and thrust the other end towards the confused boy. "Put this in your mouth."
Kaminari's mouth drops open and Mina starts laughing again. "What?? No! Why?" He takes a step away from you.
"I need to charge my phone! Please, Kaminari! You do this all the time where I'm from!" You have him backed against a wall and he puts his hands over his mouth, shaking his head no.
"What is that?" Mina points at your phone "it looks busted"
"It's a... It's a tiny magic mirror, but it'll only work if it's charged. Kaminari, please!"
"You're gonna suck the magic out of me with that?" Kaminari clasps his chest dramatically and looks at you with a horrified expression.
"What? No! Ugh, just come on!"
"I wanna see it work!" Mina exclaimed grabbing the end of the charging cord and forcing it into Kaminari's mouth.
He gags at the metallic taste and glares at Mina right before the charging notifications goes off with a little "ping". The two gasp and look at your phone mesmerized at the little noise it made. As soon as it had enough power you switched it on. Smiling at the two amazed expressions before you. You pulled up the pictures you had with Mina and Kaminari. "Tiny magic mirror" Mina breathed one hand over her mouth, other outstretched towards your phone.
You snorted and laughed, handing the phone to them so they could scroll through your pictures.
You find a chair to sit in and your legs basically give out, you didn't realize how tired you were. Leaning you head against the wall you close your eyes and drift off to sleep, comforted my the familiar sounds of you friends laughing and joking with one another.
I really wanted to scroll past this... But it's such a good idea sooo (also I just decided that Tony accidentally screwed around with de-aging serums and ran into a bit of a problem) @natashalieromanov
"What the in God's name..." Steve said under his breath when he walked into Tony's lab.
"Tony? Is that you?" Steve peered at the toddler sitting on a large table, bright AI systems working around him. "Uh, FRIDAY?" He asked, still unfamiliar with talking to a machine.
"Yes? How may I be of assistance sir?" A smooth monotone voice replied.
"What's.. What's happened to Tony?"
"I'm afraid Mr. Stark had had a bit of a catastrophe with a de-aging serum he was working on."
"Why?" He asked.
"Someone at the local hospital sir. They have been diagnosed with Progeria, and Mr. Stark thought that some sort of de-aging serum would work to slow down the cells death and keep them regenerating-"
"Rhodey?" Steve called anxiously, cutting off FRIDAY. "FRIDAY can you get Rhodey down here quick? And Pepper?"
"Of course."
Within a few moments Rhodey and Pepper were standing next to Steve, staring at the child. Rhodey made a move towards him, and the young Tony let out a little yelp and moved back, nervous and scared.
"It's okay," Pepper soothed. "It's me."
But the little dark haired kid just moved further away... Ready to cry but not daring too.
"FRIDAY, what age is Tony now?" Pepper asked.
"The age the serum has made him is approximately four years old, three months, two days, eleven minutes, and 8 seconds."
Pepper sighed and shook her head. "And is there anyway to reverse this?"
"Yes, Mr. Stark made an antidote if anything went wrong. And well, pardon me Ms. Potts, but this has definitely gone wrong." FRIDAY said, with a hint of sass.
"Yes, well I can see that. Where is the antidote?" Pepper asked impatiently, looking around the lab while keeping an eye on Tony.
"It's over by the suit prototypes."
"Thank you." She strode over smoothly and pick up the rather heavy injection. It was more gun shaped, and had a large needle. Even Pepper admitted to herself that she wouldn't want it anywhere near her arm.
"Ok, Steve, Rhodey, I'm assuming he's gonna be hard to get to sit still, so one of you mind helping me out?" She asks.
"I would try, but it doesn't seem like he's very willing. He's really nervous Pepper." Rhodey says.
"May I offer a suggestion?" An automated voice speaks.
"Go for it." Pepper says.
"Calling Peter Parker might help. From my observations Peter seems to calm Mr. Stark down."
"Fair shot." Steve says, "Can you call him Pepper?"
Pepper nods and snaps out her phone, a gift from Tony. She carefully clicked on the Peter contact, pressing call.
"Hello? Pepper, I mean, uh, Ms. Potts? Is everything alright?" A flustered Peter says.
"Everything is fine, just can you come to the lab quickly please? We're in a but of a dilemma." She says back.
"Ok, cool, no problem. I'll do that. Bye!" And the Peter hangs up.
"Now what about you?" Pepper says, turning to look at the kid in the corner.
When Pete arrives Steve quickly filled him in on what was happening. Peter was quick to understand.
"So if you have the antidote, what the problem?" He asked as they stepped into the lab.
"See for yourself." He said, pointing.
In the corner farthest from where Pepper and Rhodey stood anxiously, was a small child with dark hair with adorable curls. He had a sweet face but it was overthrown by worry and fear.
"Is that...is that him?" Peter asked, a bit shocked. He had expected the problem to be his behavior, but the opposite if this.
This Tony was quiet. He expected him to be loud.
He was also shaking just slightly, while Peter expected that four year old curiosity that bulldozed thoughts if being looked at oddly.
"Gosh, um..." Peter struggled to conjure up a solution.
"We figured you could help? He doesn't seem to know any of us, but he might be okay with another kid getting close." Pepper informed him.
"Well I could try. I'm not sure what good it'll do but sure." Peter said, nervous to let everyone down.
Pepper handed him the antidote and he stepped forward.
"Hey there little guy." He said, inching closer.
The young Tony looked at the stranger warily, his eyes scared but also the tiniest bit of wanting to know more showing through.
Peter took more steps forward until he was about twelve feet away from him.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." Peter took another step and Tony cried out in fear, scrambling backwards and letting out a strangled sob.
Peter's heart droops a bit but he soldiers through. He's seen Tony having a hard time, but this is something else entirely.
Pete backs up, dropping the syringe on the table where Pepper leans with Rhodey and Steve.
"I'm sorry, I just..." Pete runs out, leaving the scared little Tony huddled in a corner.
-
"Peter?" Says the voice Peter is used to.
"Mr. Stark!" Peter almost falls off the helicopter pad at the top of the tower as he whirls around.
"Why'd you dash out kid? Something on your mind?" Tony asks, sitting on the ledge like Peter is.
"I just...." Peter looks away, a bit ashamed.
"Talk to me Pete." Tony says, using a nickname to try and show how much he cared.
Peter turned and looked at him, happiness and a few tears swirling around in his eyes. "It's just that you were so vulnerable, and just, scared. And I couldn't even get close to you. You-you whimpered." Says Peter, whispering the last sentence sounding a bit heartbroken.
Tony looks at the setting sun over the city. "I know."
Peter tries desperately to gage what Tony is feeling but can't seems to name a specific emotion that must be coursing through his mentors veins.
"When I was young, my father never had time for me. Ever. I worked my hardest and I didn't get any sort of oat in the back from my dad. Even when I went to MIT, Howard just seemed happy to have that stupid little kid out of his house and away from his precious lab." Tony looked at his hands. "And then there was the fact that sometimes he would h-" Tony choked in the word.
Peter did the only thing he could think of and hugged Tony.
"Sometimes he would... He would hit me sometimes. Slap me across the face for touching something, when I was trying to be helpful. When I came onto the set of where he was filming one day afterwards he slapped me until my lip was split and my eye was puffy and black.
"I always wanted to impress him. And I never could. And the thing I learned at the age of six was not to cry in front of him. He hated it when I cried. I would get hit for that. But I didn't know that at the age you saw me. I was scared then." Tony says, baring himself for Peter to see.
"I'm so sorry." Peter says, "I didn't know that he, that he did that to you. It must have been horrible. I can't imagine."
"That's good Pete. I never want you to ever know what that feels like, okay?" Tony says, looking for confirmation.
Peter nods. "Yeah. And thank you, for telling me that Mr. Staem."
Tony shook his head. "Call me Tony."
Peter grinned, and for the second time they hugged.
