"Vampyres of the Old Faith" is an AU centered around the sudden uprise of vampyr (which are the Bishops in this case) and the vampyre hunters intend to stop this revolt before it gets any worse !! This takes place in the eaaaarly 2000's ,,, so it's a modern au ,,, and is a little funny to consider that the vampyr are Old as hell and arent adapted well enough to modern society 😭😭

YIPPEE Now that i got that down here are the four main vampyres :-3c there is a Green Coven, Golden Coven, Blue Coven, and Purple Coven. Each vampyre is able to shapeshift into smaller forms—like how a vampyre can change into a bat—these four can turn into different animals !! Theyve all been alive for different amounts of time, yet 300 years ago they all managed to find eachother and create a pact of vampyr covens!!

Leshy is Def known as the cruelest and invasive one,, he does happen to be the only one to mess with the shaping and mirroring of reality,,,, which honestly is concerning the most 😭 throughout history people have claimed they've seen "a big tree creature walking and taking people's skin" ,,,, So the eldritch rumors are NOT very helpful for him-

Well here's the first three bigshots of the company >:-D Sozonius has been hunting and obtaining information about vampyr for years, narinder is fairly new to vampyr bounty hunting yet still exceeded the expectation of a regular bounty hunter (surprisingly the strongest 23 year old), and lamb only recently started researching the vampyr after they lost their mother to vampyrism,, they are mainly known for being a detective and trying to help people out with finding their lost family members or attempting to help revert a vampyr they found back into a mortal !!!!

The company (which im,,,, Honestly not sure of a name about still 😭 i dont know what to call it) has been a benefit to society more than they realize. The unmentioned references happen to be Forneus and Monch. The head scientist is Monch, and Forneus IS the founder of the company to hunt down vampyres! Shes lost her family to vampyrism all the same, especially her two sons (aym & baal) which were kidnapped by Shamura too since theyve stalked narinder and knew he had a fondness over those two kittens just as much as forneus did.

There are more roles within this universe,, ive also been trying to think of how many characters I could add into this,, BUT YEAH !!!! Something really silly and self indulgent over the past few days of making finalized refs for them :-D

Ive been kinda plotting out another secret story for Narinder on how *he* was the one who caused this sudden uprising,, how the betrayal of leaving his siblings caused them to rage in revolution,, but that can be for another time 🕺

yapping about Kill the Past under the cut cuz im now free from the 25th ward finally

THE SILVER CASE

-it feels cliche to say the first game was my favorite but uhhh haha. knowing suda, The Silver Case probably didn't fully accomplish what it set out to do but to me, it's so self-contained and demonstrates such ownership of a style that mostly came out of necessity that i can't not admire it, and i'm also so fond of my playthrough of it which was so fresh and curious, compared to the other two games which were fun but I was thinking too much abt how it connects to TSC

--also just the way i played this game is so special, i was very committed to the darker aesthetic to the point where I only played past like 10pm for a while, which is funny cuz the opening of the game is straight up paranormal but by the 2nd chapter transmitter loses that edge until debatably lifecut. tokio is also haunted and paranormally but by that point i just started playing normally. it sorta reminds me of paranormasight which starts out so spooky and the curses are very present but a few hours in it sorta reverts to being a pretty normal feeling but still very good detective mystery. at one point a character does an escape room ala zero escape and its funny. but TSC doesn't stray from its initial vibe as much as paranormasight at all.

-i also played the parallel stories of TSC separate from each other rather than alternating, which made placebo such a slog but i almost feel like I appreciated both stories more that way, even though i would have loved to experience how placebo compliments transmitter

--despite not clicking with placebo at first, tokio is like one of my favorite characters this year hes such a fucking Guy. and you experience him so intimately in placebo in a way i can't even describe but is effective by the end.

---theres a bizarre and esoteric mental link in my brain between tokio, ange from umineko and fucking flynn moore from the furry visual novel Echo because of them being like surprise deurotagonists (sp?) that get fucked up from having to search for the truth about the past and how theyre all chained by it. do you think they would put happy colors in my padded cell or would it just be all white.

-I also feel like I came out of TSC a lot clearer than I did FSR or 25W, I'm sure I missed several details at first but the shelter kids stuff and kamui as more of a role and a criminal influence than as a person wasn't that hard to wrap my head around even though I thought the silver eye stuff was so whatever. i kind of wonder if part of the reason i clicked with it faster was because I'm such an mgs2head, and the whole kamui thing is sorta like what the solid snake simulation appears to be at first

-also the mackerel phones video about Kusabi is so good and feels like a must watch for how well researched it is and how accurately it nails the feeling and message of transmitter.

-TSC also uses film window a lot better than 25W and it might be worth researching how the latter being a phone game affects things but i just got off that game

-also would kinda love a translated version of the PSX version someday just to feel how different it is. idk if certain ppl hate the official translation so much maybe they should do it themselves ooooh

-i havent read 4.5 and i meant to do so before 25W to have that context about sumio and sakura and i kindaaa didnt so lol i have to do that eventually.

FLOWER, SUN AND RAIN

-"flower, sun and rain" is like a speech tick to me in the way of like, rupaul on the weakest link immediately defaulting to chaka khan when he doesnt know the answer to a question

-i wish i felt flower, sun and rain the way I felt TSC. i had a decent time with it and even had a good sense of humor about the more obviously tedious parts and the OST, and I get how mundane it's supposed to be, what it's saying about living in peace and the lie of paradise, but it didn't click with me as much. maybe a pitfall was being so attached to TSC when i played, i was probably looking for something i shouldn't have instead of just enjoying the game for what it was altho i didn't hate it or anything.

--ideally this also gets a translation on its original console cuz I like some parts of the PS2 soundtrack and id love to experience all the art assets and music in PS2 quality.

---sorta tangent. i love the opening tracks for all of these games but Anata no Tameni might be my favorite, beyond just being amazing its so dramatic and unlike the rest of the series and it really stands out. the ds opening in comparison might actually be my least favorite because of that lol

-i think that the mondo/kodai revelation is so funny just because it's an idea you'd either keep in the back of your mind or just wave off because of how dumb it seemed but regardless it's constantly staring you in the face. assuming you even played TSC before this

--sumio was never super proper or anything, i don't think, but his personality here compared to TSC is so funny, he can spend 20 years with bottled up rage and fake his way into an incompetent police force without slipping thaaat much but here he has enough small inconveniences to hit a kid over it. kind of an interesting play on like the salient thing about personality and the self being buried and it feels like an early version of like a shiroyabu situation. not the last time i will compare sumio and shiro.

--i also think its funny that the model of sumio mondo looks pretty similar to kodai compared to the key art of mondo and we should explore that one day

-i wanted more out of toriko kusabi, she was a fun diversion and i didn't expect her to be a tokioesque second protag or anything but idk. she was fun when she went against sundance and at the end and her being like a subliminal kinda suggestion to sumio's buried memories of her father i think is cool. in a less meta sense it's also cute that shes working for her dad i wonder if tetsu has to like try not to step on christine everytime he comes home from the bathhouse at like 2am. actually i dont remember what their family situation even is

-speaking of kusabi i think him like being the guardian/ferryman for sumio's journey is so so beautiful and true and i like that he gets to pull him back from the depths the way sumio sorta inadvertently did in parade/kamuidrome.

--its also really funny to me kusabi just disguises as a chubby white guy. it was probably a fatsuit but i feel like kusabi could be like 50lb away from being a bear anyways. its like the grocery store deli scene in bobs burgers.

---i also appreciated parade from transmitter way more playing this and thinking about sumio. when i played parade the first time i loved connecting the dots on everything but then it kinda got buried by kamuidrome and lifecut. and now im such a shooter for sumio kodai. look at me talking about the previous game wooo.

-i think the character designs in this are funny for how little of them you can actually see. everyone loves yayoi and yayoi is such a serve but my other fav is ken. all the punk details are completely lost in the actual game. the models also super undersell stephen carbione's look, cuz in-game he sorta looks like tokio but then you see his key art and its like yea he would look like that.

-tokio was in this game

-i think edo macallister should be a bellhop in every video game with a hotel ever. im going to the other side of the country soon and if the guy behind the desk at the hotel isn't edo i will be severely disappointed.

-i love that its hyenas. i think there should be like tokio morishima as an anthro hyena and he still has his domesticated turtle or at least like hyena sundance or yotaro or something. i think ppl would be quick to anthropomorphize tokio as a literal turtle guy.

-the eleven children stuff is whatever, i do like that theres a bunch of sumios running around but idc for all the other implications and like step and remy and koshimizu and whoever else. is sumio mondo still deaf and mostly relying on lip reading? cuz i dont think that gets brought up again. i mean he wakes up to a phone ringing every morning but i guess those are the clones. if the hearing is referenced early in fsr and i just missed it then that would be very cool. maybe thats why the voices for the characters are abstract and illegible. maybe flower sun and rain is the best game ever.

THE 25TH WARD

-what if we were all protagonists.

-i dont think this game uses film window as well as TSC but i do like the art and how much of it there is in correctness and matchmaker, also the different styles.

-i love yotaro osato sadly hes so funny and fluffy. hes osato in my notes and in normal convo but i want to call him yotaro affectionately. i do love tsuki too hes such a sufferer.

--i think theyre a teeeeny bit like like p4 adachi and dojima if they were both murderous.

-i feel bad for the lady that gets murked immediately in correctness i had a funny voice for her in my head

-shiro and kuro god bless them are funny and parallel sumio and tetsu to me. both sumio and shiro grapple with their criminal power, although sumio goes against the hc unit while shiro attempts to but finds himself back with them at the end, and while kusabi over time softens quite a bit and learns from sumio in a more overt way than kuro being literally the "japanese dirty harry" and not having as much of an arc, they both are compelled enough by their partner to rein them back in. just the surface level so i dont have to write a whole essay in a stream of consciousness type of post

--what even happens to them bc as far as i can tell, shiro just continues to be a tool of the state and kuro maybe? shoots her superior and then the 25th ward blows up.. with them on it? like okay at least tsuki got outta there.

--on the shiroverse timeline. theres conflicting sources on if his immortality is a kamui thing or a sumio mondo thing or something else and thats funny. the sources all being fan wikis and tvtropes because fuck this game that zero people played and negative people have documented.

-i need to like hold myself back from analysing meru as trans because its so clearly done for shock value but it somehow aged really hilariously now with how prevalent trans egirls are. liek theres a strange almost unearned truth to how meru exists online versus irl.

--kind of all of the gay/trans mentions in these games are like this although kusabi you can at least take in sorta good faith?

-i need to think abt what i thought abt tokio here. its increasingly funny how online he is for being a normal dude in the late 90's early 2000s.

--his portrait in yumi is kind of a hear me out but all the cgs of older tokio look crazy. tokio in general looks a mess in this game and its funny. look at him try to be masc

-i mentioned mgs2 above and the 05 chapters of these games are so reminiscent of the s3 plan and the patriots with the frontier etc using the city to collect data and the protags having to figure out where they fit into it. during TSC, i was paying a lot of attention to the story as it related to the advent of technology. it felt really relevant to kamuidrome and all of placebo but mostly ended up as background/context to the story. it was used a lot more here and i really liked it. chat logs are a great framing device in all the routes since they add so much flavor and emphasize the loneliness of life in the 25th ward (semi-related: in both TSC and 25W, the environments are devoid of people in film window, and i think this works way better for 25W than it did for TSC). placebo is yet again a good example of this with tokio only really interfacing with the world through his computer most of the time

--in terms of twists, i might actually like "the city is just a means of data collection ready to be wiped at any moment/it resembles a computer more than an actual city and life there is so impermanent that its hard to tell how real it all is" better than the end point of tsc which was "they were trying to mass process children to find a means of immortality" which i was so whatever on even though the game is trying to be crazy and also say something about like life and aging in society, but in tsc i like "they were mass grooming perfect civilians and inadvertently making them susceptible to crime" as a conclusion a bit more. but i mean 25W also poses so many more questions than it does give answers so.

---despite everything i think it was an interesting idea for suda and masahiro yuki and masahi ooka to create the 25th ward almost as a sandbox to explore more of the ideas of the first game like how the internet affects human connection, communication, sharing of information, and how people are affected by criminal power/kamui. it was a cool idea in the original but i love actually getting to see shiroyabu steadily become more unhinged (death filing), kurumizawas pervasiveness, tsuki and osato coming to grips with their own (esp osato's immense) criminal power, etc. in spite of all of the loose ends and craziness, sometimes you really need a space to work out your ideas and express yourself and i commend grasshopper for doing that so i could have played this on a nokia in 2005. in japan

overall these were video games. very excited to forget everything about them when i fixate on something else. tsc might actually be one of my fav things i played this year. would love more analysis of the 25th ward, theres some essays/interpretations floating around and ghenryperez will get to his video on it eventually. maybe i need to be the change i wish to see but also boo putting effort into writing and analysis sux.

January is my flower person once again (still encouraging yall to ask about it).

February I explored with brushes. I wanted to see what I could do with fully saturated colors.

March is just drawing for a hairstyle I wanted. Kinda dead in the art department that month.

April was a gift I made for a friend after an ongoing inside joke.

May is an oc I made with my dad. He is the popcorn and candy man and loves drinking butter. It eases his nerves.

June is a collection of doodles. I was fascinated with rat ppl for some reason.

July marked my first serious dca fanart. Back then my SAMS hyperfixation skyrocketed. I was still figuring out just how I wanted to draw the blorbos.

August was a drawing of a random person. Just going with the flow. I think they are adorable and I rendered the horns well.

September is my most popular post. The infamous Solar Lunacy shitpost.

October is my spooky moon drawing. I still get notifs from it. Ppl think it's a scooby doo laugh and I find that funny. Ppl also think he's handsome. That was unexpected.

November is a drawing I made after taking a trip to the St. Louis City Museum. It's so wacky and whimsical in there. I am proud of my choice of colors and patterns. I'm not sure if I will finish it.

December is my Secret Santa. Ironically enough, the bonus drawing is the one I did first and spent the most time on.

Looking back through all of it made me realize that I have a lot of unfinished work and I have a LOT of things that I never shared with yall.. There are so many good drawings that never saw the light of day because I forgot about them or didn't think they were good enough. I want to share them all at some point.

Hello!!

Yes there is lore!! Though new stuff is being added or clarified!! I'll give you the rundown!!

They formed in 2022 and there are 5 members

Who they are:

Seer - Singer/Orator for MB. He wears a black mask and has white eyes with black pupils.

Vision 1 - Lead guitarist. He has a white mask with a small notch on his left eye and covers his right eye with the scarf/ fringe. Wears a lot of rings and bracelets and has a clear quartz moon rosary.

Vision 2 - Bassist. Very tall. Wears a moon rosary also. (So sorry V2!!) He also has a noticeable forehead...

Vision 3 - Rhythm Guitar. The tallest of them. No jewelery. Likes to tilt his head in pictures and videos.

Vision 4 - Drummer. He has a fringe that kinda covers his forehead. Gets lost often. (V1 calls him Temu V1)

Some of the confirmed lore:

They are *not* in a cult for a goddess/ being called the Temptress. The Temptress is represented by the moon.

Snakes also have a strong link to the lore as well, but we don't fully know why/ how yet.

The followers who are not Visions or a Seer are called Observers and wear full face white masks. To become an Observer toy must become Faceless.

Seer is the speaker for the Temptress.

We don't know why yet or how he was picked. But he loves the Temptress and will do her bidding.

V3 is second most loyal to the Temptress. He's very righteous in his personality.

V1, V2, and V4 haven't shown what their affinity to the Temptress is, yet.

In 'A Blood Moon' We see how V1 became a Vision. He sacrificed a man who was cocky and thought he would be chosen to be the next Vision.

Seer, V2, V3, and V4 watched as he did that and then V4 gave V1 a Vision mask.

We don't know if to become a Vision you must sacrifice, but that's how V1 did it.

We also don't know their order of becoming Visions. It's been saidthat V4 was first, and V1 was last. But, we don't know for sure.

Songs that are lore heavy/important: An Omen, An Offering, and A Blood Moon

Side story songs that might be important later: A Transformation and The Serpent.

Music video lore hints:

The beginning of An Offering is V1 having a, well, vision.

In An Omen, the one on their knees with the bag is also V1. An Omen has been referred to as a dream that V1 is having.

Not lore lore:

V1 has a small group of watchers called The Horsemen. Famine, Pestilence, War, Fury, and Providence. You'll see them helping the band with community stuff, but they aren't in the lore. THOUGH V1 has joked "Not yet"

Small things:

on Fridays V1 likes to chat with the community through Slay Friday. Asking questions and such. On Tuesdays Seer likes to have Temptress Tuesdays where the Observers can show offerings of things like crafts, fanart, cosplays, etc.

V4 likes to get lost a lot, and usually V1 is the one who has to find him. V4 also likes rocks a lot.

V3 very much enjoys the moon and talking about the Temptress.

V2 is pretty quiet and the spooky Cryptid of the group.

The server:

In the server they will occasionally pop in to chat, but it's mostly V1 who will. Don't be put off if he "Sacrifices" you. He'll bring you back. Or if he calls you a bitch/punk. He's just kidding around and does it out of love for the Observers.

They will pop in for Q&A's and you can ask them lore stuff or their interests.

V1 also has his own solo music side. He's done covers and original music. His stuff isn't connected to MB lore at all.

Some Beetlejuice Beetlejuice thoughts now that I've watched it a couple of times~

(warning for SPOILERS)

-The opening was really fun, I like that it was similar to the original, but had a darker stormy vibe~

-I love the idea of Lydia being involved with the supernatural as she grows up... but I'm not sure about her having a show that also involves her going ghost-hunting? Like, it is a bit of the whole "spectacle" kinda thing that her dad was trying to sell to Maxie Dean, and in the process of proving the house was haunted, almost got Adam and Barbara doubled-killed. Maybe if we saw it more as her helping the ghosts adjust to the whole being dead thing, and when she deals with living people, she goes the Reigen Arataka route; if the problem isn't spooky, she'll tell them how to deal with it in a normal way that still puts them at ease, and if the problem is legit spooky, she can fix it herself

-The freaked-up puppet bit to explain how Charles died was awesome

-Ponytail guy did not need to exist

-DELIA! She was just awesome, through it all

-I'm just gonna call her the Corpse Bride. ANYWAY, I really dig her intro, the way she "pulls herself together" as the song plays was pretty cool! After that, she is unfortunately a little... meh

-I appreciate the theme of Astrid being similar and yet opposite to Lydia, but if she's so aware of her mom being connected to spooky stuff... why not just have it be that she grew up in a haunted house, and is also perfectly aware of who Beetlejuice is? Like, that should have been a REALLY early conversation for Lydia to have with her "Ghosts are real, and this one is a JERK" (in a weird way, her not being so in-the-know feels like a "convenient problem", the plot wanted her to be at odds with her mother, so everything that should have prevented this never happened, so they can have a problem)

-Beetlejuice backstory! It was a hilarious bit, and I really enjoyed it a lot (just me personally; I like to imagine this wasn't his "original" life, but one of the many times he has gotten back into the land of the living through trickery and such, and then he gets killed again. Rinse and repeat~)

-ASTRID, DO NOT RIDE YOUR BIKE DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD???

-I initially hated Teenage Love Interest Boy, but him being a ghost was actually pretty interesting... then I DID NOT TRUST him as soon as he started being all "You can bring me back to life, but don't tell your mom, also let me dangle the possibility of seeing your dad again in front of you". OOH and then he was revealed to be an Evil Murder Boy, and I felt vindicated. It really was a cool idea, but again, executed kinda wonky... because Lydia should have talked to Astrid more about the dangers of spooky stuff. I definitely think it is pretty cool to have this "nice guy" be such a creepy villain

-My brain keeps coming up with alternate ideas; imagine if Lydia had a bunch of fans who went to school with Astrid, and they want to get advice on how to do a séance, when they can't get attention from Lydia, they just do it themselves, and think it failed- oh but one of them meets this cute boy (and he gets all flirty with one, pulls the life-trade, and Astrid gets involved with saving them)

-I like undead detective actor Willem Dafoe hahaha

-Seeing more of how the afterlife looks is just really cool in general

-Lydia and Delia having a more honest and caring relationship is really sweet, and I liked that Delia KNOWS how much Lydia used to have disdain for her, and she doesn't resent that at all

-Delia. "Defanged"? That is not how snakes work

-Now, this is just me and my own fan-fiction/sequel idea rolling around in my head... but I kinda like the idea of Astrid being the one who calls on Beetlejuice to save her mom, and shenanigans ensue. Even if it didn't work that way, the whole "This ex-wife is mad at me so I need to get married again" thing was just kinda stupid? We did the marriage contract thing already. Move on. I'm absolutely into them having two different problems, and being forced to fix them together. I'm also into Corpse Bride as a villain, but I wanna SEE her be more of a threat (she eats a few dead people, but let's get some apocalyptic levels of threatening!)

-Actually, y'know what? Corpse Bride reminds me of Serleena from MIB 2 (not a bad thing exactly, it is just kinda funny)

-Ah, I see the cartoon's Neither World puns have crossed over and given us the Soul Train

John’s voice when he tells Arthur that it’s ok 😭 because describing surroundings, looking for shelter and directing Arthur on how to get there is familiar territory, he knows how to do that and do it well so it’s all going to be ok now 😭

His longest standing 'Ick' with anybody has only ever been Ace. Albert finds the dude abrasive and is irritated by the joking way they kinda 'not' flirt with Eu. The harshest he's disliked somebody was Jamil. (See Ch 4 stuff). Ch 6 is coming around (I WILL WRITE IT I SWEAR) where there's gonna be some...events that will require Al to see that Jamil ISN'T just a snake in the grass.

12. What is your OC’s favorite event(s), what was their role?

The Airborne Afternoon Fan Event is actually coming up here in August if people wanted to start thinking about what they want their OCs to do/look like. I'm actually in the process of making an SR card for yall as well-

Actually, Halloween! Autumn is already his favorite time of year; couple that with all the merriment and spookiness that NRC goes All Out with, it's a lot of fun! it's actually going to be a combination of Ch 5 events as well as Ch 6. I've already written and posted up to Ch 5 in the timeline, but you'll have to see how he changes even more in Ch 6

Funny or not funny: Sebek. Tidus has heard at some point that Sebek is half human, so doesn't understand why the Knight is so admonishing of his own culture? They've actually gotten to bumping chests over whether something Human was considered 'lowly' or not.

Lilia had to have a talk with Sebek about 'being careful of the nice ones, especially when they're much bigger than you. Don't be 'The Reason'.'

12. What is your OC’s favorite event(s), what was their role?

Portfest! Like everyone else, he's there to greet folks, work the churro stands, and play a bit of music (Bass Drum being his UvU)

I actually hadn't thought about that OvO Most of my development for him actually came from RPs with Squidwen, and that was all orbital to Main Story events.

I WILL SAY: Tidus does grow a bit more of a spine after One of Squidwen's OCs tries staging a union walkout and another needs protection from Jade for having a mushroom-shaped hat.

Laz is a rather minor character. If he were more central, his big arc would also be Ch 6. He and Idia technically grew up together in the Isle of Woe, albeit in different districts. Because of what he'd heard Idia was going home for a bit, he thought he might as well take some time to come with him. After all, the Isle of Woe (personal HC) is more or less a 'company town', where everybody in some manner has experience working for STYX.

kinda sat on the update for a bit to get my feelings on it. big post, i'm sorry. i'm open to hear about what uses people have found for effects i'm not a fan of, though! i'd like to broaden my customization tastes, and i might be thinking too narrowly when it comes to uses they have.

Dragon Only

a few are really nice, and subtle enough that they won't deeply impact a dragon's appearance. foil, shimmerscale, and glitz are surprisingly neat, with glitz being on the more heavyhanded end but still makes for a fine alternative to the other two that would fit well on a few dragon concepts off the top of my head.

i'm not a fan of the void one as far as 'subtle' ones go; it looks too 'stock image' like for my tastes and feels like looking at one of those light projectors you'd buy for halloween. i'm sure someone has a use case for it. pastel pulse isn't great for me, either; its texture map is a grid of perfectly aligned circles of varying saturations, ending with some of them being warped and some swooshes with high contrast. the intensity of the pastel makes it really hard to see the effect, too, so it feels like another stock image situation. i suppose it'd make for an alright stained alternative if you needed to use the tertiary slot for something else, but it's so heavy on the pastel that it's hard to fill that role. maybe a smoother gradient could have made it an effective (ha ha) animated iri/shim. dearly departed is a super cool concept but the result is a little off. the foggy effect on the lower end of the image is neato, but it's miserable on dragons whose faces are low (mirrors, everlux male, female imp...), or are more top heavy so it doesn't show well. i'll probably get a copy anyway, and do have an idea of which dragon could use it. Apparel Only sheen absolutely could be used on almost anything. simple, effective, does what it needs to and doesn't overstay its welcome. it's personally the best of the bunch to me as an avid shiny-things lover (probably a crow). possessed possessions looks like it's best used on dragons with minimal apparel, since the effect heavily reduces the lineart visibility of each piece and can turn it into a big blob of purple slime. i wish it could be on select pieces instead of all of them, but it's one of those limitations we need to hope for a solution to. all the same, that big blob of purple slime is neat looking on some heavily dressed dragons if you coordinate the clothing right. also you need to imagine chicken/bird/snake/frog spirits. do it for your mental health. spooky chickens. All-Over:

sunrise, moonrise feels like it was their first attempt at something fitting the role of an animated skin, and it's so hyper niche due to the landscape part of the effect. a day/night cycle effect without the landscape probably would have had more use for a wider audience. it likely appeals to some of the folks who like landscape skins, though, and i live in fear of the ones who make it work really well. i can't tell if it's supposed to be an all-over one, though-- i can't see it affecting the apparel at all in its animations? (sidebar: living painting dragons seem like a neat idea that this effect can lean into) flutterby is really cute, though, and makes me excited to see what they do with the new system. i hope they can make effects similar to it most of all; gimme other little guys, or flowerfalls, or elemental effects like lightning, little meteor showers, or smouldering ash. floating books or NOTN living objects would be really cool! TL;DR: the idea needed more time to be polished, but i think it's an overall positive addition to the website. if they balance the kinds of effects they distribute (keeping in mind people who like subtler stuff as much as the grander ideas, as well as the spectrum between) and should they choose to expand their customization and layering systems in the near future, i can absolutely see this system being much more loved my the wider community and more users finding the benefits in it that suit their needs.
