playing as a good-aligned dark urge cleric in bg3 is sooooooo.
Imagine you wake up, in an unfamiliar place, with this insatiable bloodlust, and not a memory to your name. Not a memory, save for your devotion to your god. A reassuring constant, and a framework to understand your new murderous desires. You don't know anything about yourself, but you know your god and work from there. And then you discover that not only is your urge an intrinsic part of you, not only did you conspire to take over the world, but you are yourself a spawn of another god. Is this anything. Does this make anyone else insane.

near the beginning/middleish area of the play hamlet goes to horatio and says hey. i love you and i admire you and i enjoy being around you because you have qualities i admire. something something in my hearts heart (i don’t have it memorized yet and im paraphrasing). the pure devotion horatio shows to hamlet throughout the play is just. oh my GOD. at the end of the book in hamlets death scene horatio says “now cracks a noble heart. goodnight, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to rest.” which implies that he believes hamlet will go to heaven. keep this idea in mind for a minute while i clarify that it’s pretty clear throughout the play that the characters are written as christian. horatio tries to drink the rest of the poison that killed gertrude when hamlet dies, attempting to kill himself. in christianity, suicide is a sin. he knows that by doing this, he is committing himself to hell. now, if hamlet is going to heaven, why would he do this? you ask. well, horatio’s sheer devotion to hamlet, as a friend, as a lover, as whatever you classify it as is so strong that a life without him would be a walking hell, making actual hell bearable if he can follow hamlet into death. side note - i want to draw a parallel here to the scene in romeo and juliet where juliet kills herself after finding out romeo really is dead. they were written as lovers. do you see the parallel? also, specifically in the scene of hamlets death, horatios referral to hamlet as “my sweet prince” is especially important here. sweet has been a term used in shakespeare to imply romantic love in multiple plays. the fact that it’s used in this scene so explicitly steps out of subtext and ventures into canon territory. and honestly, this isn’t a the curtains are just blue situation because many of shakespeares works are inherently queer. for example, twelfth night. viola literally pretends to be a man for a large portion of the play, crossdressing and playing the part. that isn’t even subtext at that point. okay rant over but yeah hamlet was bi but that’s not the main point of the play and i think anyone using it to erase whatever the hell he had going on with ophelia can just stop talking 🫶

Just had a session tonight and oooooooo boy!!
It was just supposed to be a silly goody session where we race some cars in a life or death match and Fallon ended up being absolutely DESTROYED over this. Tbf, they did indirectly end up killing 7 people in the span of like 2 minutes so I can't blame them.
They understand that there wasn't much choice; there was a bomb strapped to their car that would've blown them up if they hadn't won, but they are beating themselves up for not being able to find a better solution. They've also been having a fight with their brother after he accidentally casted Charm Person on Fallon to protect them. The whole ordeal resulted in Fallon having a conversation with Char, a new person the party has just recently picked up. Fallon confided in him about their guilt and fears. They aren't really wanted anywhere and it's really catching up to them now. They don't really have anyone besides Weslan they can rely on.
Amelia (the other party member played by the person playing Char currently) Misty Stepped away from standing right next to Fallon in order to run away. They were the only one around, so they feel responsible that they couldn't stop her from leaving.
Viola, the other party member, is currently leading the party through the Wastelands to reach her old orc tribe while going through a regression arc. So Fallon is pretty sure that she is planning on staying with the tribe once she is able to be reunited with them.
They're even worried about Weslan leaving them. Not only because of this fight, but they know that he is in love with an aasimar from his past. They worry that they may lose Weslan if he is able to pursue Deshawn, but they can't tell him that.
Overall, they don't feel like they belong anywhere or that anyone really wants them.
Char basically told Fallon that the whole party needs to realize that they aren't at fault for every bad thing that happens around them and that they really need to all have a conversation to fix the bonds they have. You can't give up on an experiment until you've exhausted every option possible.
Fallon then left to talk with Weslan. They apologized for cutting him out and being so cold to him, and Weslan also shared that he understood why. They both lamented over the fact that life isn't like the storybooks make it out to be. But they promise to be better for each other going forward. The two made a blood pact, promising that they would do everything in their power to keep from killing again.
And oh my god! I was NOT expecting Fallon to feel absolutely crushed by all these emotions!! At the end of the race, I could feel myself starting to tear up as they just grabbed the reins and did some healing. They're still really fucked up (and feeling low-key suicidal), but they aren't giving up anymore! They are going to try to step in to act as the glue to keep everyone together for as long as they can. It's a new leaf for them and they're on the way to realizing that THIS is their home and THIS is their family. It may still be messy, but it's theirs and it's worth fighting for

Since I joined the One Piece fandom, I was asked different times which character I ship with Doffy the most. Given I'm usually into self insert things, I'd firstly go with "my OC, of course 😛"... But let's talk about what I think of Doffy's most famous ships 😁
DISCLAIMER: all of what follows is TOTALLY my own opinion, don't want to judge anyone who thinks differently than me. OP is a fictional world made of fictional characters and anyone can ship whoever they likes!
So, here's the ships:
Doffy x Viola
Ok, let's start with what many people's don't want to hear: this ship is canon. Yeah. Like it or not, it's a matter of fact.
I honestly like them together, they're a weird couple but somehow they work. I like to imagine how could have been the dynamic between the two of them, and I'm more than sure there was nothing abusive from Doffy's side. I mean, sexually at least. I agree with the fact destroying one's whole life and Country is pretty abusive, but I'm quite sure the feelings between Doffy and Viola have been real for a while. Maybe the concept could sound trivial, but no one chooses who to love and Doffy has many characteristics which may definitely make a person fall for him. Not totally sure HE has ever truly loved her, but I like to think so. After all he does have a weak side and Viola might have been one of the few (even thanks to her powers) who managed to see it and knowing him deeply. This surely strenghtened their bond and it might have finally resulted in love...
My vote is a 8/10
Doffy x Cora
This is incest. I know. And it's indeed problematic and controversial. Irl a thing like this isn't exactly acceptable.
BUT as I told before, OP is pure fiction, so... I have to say quite like them tbh. In my opinion, as long as a relationship is adult and consensual there's nothing deeply wrong in it IN FICTIONAL WORLDS. (I know, there are fanfictions in which their relationship is abusive, but since we’re talking about headcanons here I like to think it’s not). Have you watcher GoT? Cersei and Jamie were one of the best written pairings in the whole series, the same goes for this situation imo, we have all the conditions to make this ship a sensible one.
They’re a realistic couple cause they went through a lot of difficulties together and, even if they chose different paths of life, their bond is very very deep. Their love is a desperate one, like “you’re the only one in this world I can REALLY trust”. This from both sides. The difference is that Cora is a pure person who just want to love and being loved while Doffy... well, he’s not exactly mentally healthy and he’s like “all or nothing”.
A lot of angst and stuff, of course, for this reason my vote is 7/10
Doffy x Crocodile
I’m sure someone out there is going to want my head for what I’m about to write, the DoffyxCroco fandom is huge after all... but...
I don’t like this ship at all.
Given one can ship two people with no reason or just because they wear matching colours and look good in fanarts (?) imo DoffyxCrocodile has no sense. They interact, yeah, but nothing about their dialogues or shared scenes makes me thing they could be a good couple. Even that most famous encounter at Marineford which made fanpeople scream... They looked just like contenders who quite disliked eachother, nothing less and nothing more :/ and Doffy saying “I’m jelous!” just gave me the same vibes of a childish sacrastic way to piss off a person, pretty much like the stupid classic “you fight like a girl!”.
They’re aesthetically beautiful, nothing to say, they’re both among the most handsome characters in OP  and have a similar story, so I’m not saying I don’t understand the reasons of those who ship them... Just... I want ships to be stronger and more credible than this :/
6/10 just because they look good in fanarts XD
Doffy x Luffy
This is pretty diffused, but..... why.
I mean... what happened between the two of them which could have made them fall for eachother?? D: Have you ever tried to date a person after trying GearFourthPunch them out of the troposphere? °A° (Also, Luffy could LITERALLY be Doffy’s son. This is weird. Not the weirdest thing, but still.)
Srsly... If you like them together I ask you to tell me which dynamics are there behind this ship. Cause I really can’t see WHERE do you see even a little trace of feelings between the two of them D:
Sorry D:
3/10
Doffy x Law
Gods, yes. YES.
This ship HELLA works from every single point of view. Doffy and Law are two of the most (if not THE MOST) well written characters in the whole series. They have a complete and complex background, a deep and multifaceted personality and, above all, an extremely strong bond.
Ship them or not, they’re literally OBSESSED by eachother for different reasons.
Law is the ONLY man Doffy considers almost his equal, he thinks he’s like the only person worth being his right hand man and I’m quite sure he’s galvanized by the idea Law is the one who’s gonna sacrifice his life to make him immortal. Like... a great life to complete an even greater one? This is insane. And yet beautiful.
On the other hand, Law’s thoughts have been completely centred on taking revenge on Doffy for 10 years. Like, he was literally obsessed by that man, consumed by the hate he felt for him which obscured anything else, even his maniacal good sense in the end.
Turning this all into a tragic and tormented love story is as easy as drinking water. A long-term reciprocal hate mixed with a deep admiration for eachother (even from Law’s side, after all Doffy was the one who thaught him almost... everything?) which slowly turns into something terribly different. Imagine the tension between two arch enemies who have to admit their hate melted into passion... and yet still have this latent feeling of wanting the other’s death.......
Don’t know what’s your opinion about this kind of stories, but for me, the self proclaimed Queen of Angst, in love with the most tragical Theatre and Literature... THIS IS GOOD STUFF.
10/10 HANDS DOWN.
Doffy x Trebol
What tHE ACTUAL F***K.
-10/10
Doffy x Bellamy
Please, no.
Alright, I hate Bellamy. He’s exactly the kind of character I find terribly pathetic and incomplete. He barely has a personality of his own, he’s a wild fanboy with nothing original (not like Barto. Barto is the best fanboy ever. All my love goes to Barto.).
Now, he spent all his 34 years of life trying to... imitate Doffy? And yet he doesn’t even manage to truly understand him. So he’s worse than a fanboy, he’s attracted to the idealization of a man who’s not even half of the things he expects him to be. This is sad. Really sad. And call me a sadist, he deserved being humiliated imo. Maybe this helped him open his eyes and getting a life. Seriously.
It goes without saying I totally can’t see how a relationship between him and Doffy could work. Doffy despises him, the only kind of plot this thing could have is a quite abusive one :/ and since I deeply dislike abuse.... no. This ship is totally out of question.
0/10
Doffy x Monet
This is another ship which barely touches the canon. I sincerely think the "love" between the two of them is pretty much unilateral. Doffy respects Monet, he deeply appreciates her abilities, intelligence and loyalty, she's clearly among his closest subordinates, but... He doesn't love her in a romantic way. As for Monet, she's totally in love with him, she'd kill and die for him. And in fact that's what she does in the end.
Monet is not among my fav characters, but I still feel quite sorry for how things went for her. She gave her everything away for a helpless, almost obsessive, love.
If something between the two of them really happened for real, I think it was merely physical.
For this reason, tough I have to admit they'd actually look beautiful together, I can't ship them :/
5/10
Doffy x Vergo
Ok, I dislike Vergo. He's quite a flat character imo, don't even like his design 😅 I don't ship him with Doffy for this simple reason, but being honest they could perfectly work as a couple.
Vergo was among Doffy's very first "real friends", he was among those who were considered a family by him and, most importantly, he was the only one around his same age. They literally grew up together, likely supporting each other, and I wouldn't be honest if I said this has no chance to be a good assumptipn for a love story. A quite simple and basic one, if you want, but it's the most realistic kind of bond two people can make.
Still not shipping them, my vote is a honest 7/10.
Guess that's all?
Let me know what do you think about this 😆 do you agree with my votes? Or there are some points you totally disagree with?
Well, anyways. I had fun 😂

A Short List of Adventure Time AUs
So I got a google doc of adventure time aus I’ve made over the past two or three years. Here are some of my favorites (and also the ones I came back to and edited)
If you’ve got ideas for an au or ideas to add onto the preexisting ones I’ve got here, please tell me! I’m always up for some au discussion.
1.) Jermaine AU: Jermaine comes to live at the treehouse after his house blows up. This, unlike canon, happens rather early in season 3. The rest of the series mainly stays the same, except this time there's three brothers instead of two. He's a kinda anxious dude with demon hunting expertise and a painting hobby. He sometimes wonders if he made Dad disappointed by letting all his work explode. Finn and Jake help him out, and he helps them. Despite this, Jermaine is the only one with a brain, and Finn and Jake share exactly one (1) braincell that they trade every so often. Jermaine is tired. (Jermaine is the only one who tries to clean regularly, and he's also the one to keep Neptr, Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, and a few others company. He's a bit of real wisdom the early series Finn and Jake needed.
2.) Melted Ice AU: Mid season two, IK is hit with something that de-ages him. He turns six. Maybe this mystery de-aging thing blows up the top of the ice mountain, who knows. Maybe he wakes up in the snow, with no memory of how he got there or why. No memory of the last one thousand years. Finn and Jake don't know about his backstory since that happens in season three. Simon is carried by a snowman out of the ice kingdom where he breaks down in the plains. Finn, of course, finds him and is ecstatic to meet another human. Completely missing the fact that this small child is, in fact, the Ice King, Finn declares to help this boy no matter what. That promise soon becomes difficult when people hear about the second human in Ooo, and whatever effect that's keeping him young starts to wear off. (Marceline comes to visit and has a heart attack)
3.) Adventure Falls AU: AT x GF baybee!! Seventeen year old Stanley Pines hops on the Stan O' War and sets sail when he's kicked out. Unfortunately, that boat is nowhere near sea worthy, and all it takes for him to go overboard is one sudden (magical) storm. But, miraculously, Stan doesn't die. He washes up on Ooo, the island of misfits. Where there's daddy issues galore and punching things and getting gold is a legitimate career. He's found on the shore by none other than Finn, who asks if he's okay and if a dungeon adventure would soothe his worries. Stan accepts, because that sounds awesome, and they maybe date. For the next ten years, Stanley is a professional hero. He travels with Finn, he lives in a tower with tons of gold, he's respected, adored, and has made a family for himself. Ooo has a habit of forcing traumatic therapy onto to people, so Stan gets (read: is forced) to work his issues out. And then, somehow, he gets a postcard from his brother.
4.) Young Pups AU: Jake's kids grow up fast- but not that fast. He stays with lady for a few episodes being Dad and when the Pups are old enough, go visit Finn and Jermaine. Also Jermaine is there when the pups are born that always bothered me in canon like what the fuck. This whole AU results in Jake the Dad being a better father than in canon, because he actually has time to make mistakes and learn from them. He sometimes shapeshifts into one of those baby carriers but suited for five kids instead of one. Finn and Jermaine fight for best uncle privileges. Finn is considerably more awesome but Jermaine's got magic junk and juicy stories about Jake. So far the votes are: FINN: Jake Jr, T.V.  JERMAINE: Kim Kil Whan, Charlie. Viola remains undecided.
4.) Evilgreen AU: Evergreen was evil. His idea to make the crown to stop the comet was actually a cover story to take control of all the elements and freeze everything. Of course the same thing happens here as it did in canon, Gunther gets the crown and wishes to *be* evergreen. This is bad. Very bad, so bad in fact, that things get FUnKy. A couple eons later, Simon gets the crown as per canon, and then things start to slide downhill. Since the crown is significantly worse, Simon tries to get rid of it. No amount of magic pull is going to get him to put on the eldritch hat. It teleports back. When things go to shit, the crown tells him he's got two options: He can either live, or he can live unwillingly. This all coalesces in super angst and mild horror as Simon has to fight off evil urges and somehow keep both he and Marceline safe. Things start looking up, though, when he summons Hunson Abadeer.
5.) Nightmare Therapy AU: Simon, now himself post canon, has some funky nightmares. Problem is: he's due for a visit from the cosmic owl due to some mystical bureaucratic bs. If that were to happen, Simon's dreams of Golb and Orgalorg and the world ending and everyone dying and maze would come true, without the veil of metaphoric junk dreams are known for (also due to bureaucratic bs). So, Simon gets a dream therapist. An OC, probably, that would fight off his nightmares when they came and talk to him about his issues.
6.) High School AU: Except they're all still magic and crap. Finn's a jock that's part of the LDnD club(Literally Dungeons and Dragons), Jake's got a job at a pancake place and hosts the Card Wars clubs on Wednesdays, Jermaine's in college and their parents were still detectives/demon hunters. PB is preppy/nerdy girl with weird fucking family and is absolutely a mad scientist. Marceline is still a demon/vamp (vampire biker gang, they all died, deaths pending) and her uncle is Simon. Simon is a history teacher whose ex wife might be an eldritch abomination (the students wonder, but there are no answers)((simon says cryptic things every so often that are the subject of much ridicule, but he's a nice guy)). Ooo High has all of the AT characters in some shape or form. Tree trunks is the lunchlady, Mr Pig is a janitor. Lemongrab is just there. LSP(Q?) is a teacher because that's hilarious. Hunson is dead along with Marceline's mom because fuck hunson. Magic Man is a hobo that snuck onto campus and can't be chased off (his brother is the superintendent, Glob). there's a lot more but that's for a different word doc.
7.) Back to the Future AU: So PB fucks around with time travel, right? For science. She gets sent back in time a thousand years, before the war. Now, she's a pink lady who can shoot jelly beans from her hands, of course needs to lay low. And of course she needs to get home, but she's in a Futurama situation where she only has one type of time machine; the one that can go into the past. Not to mention her own time machine got busted on her way there, so she's double screwed. But, she remembers something. There is an individual (two, actually) that knows about time travel in this time period. She knows him, and he's likely to help her if she plays her card right. She needs to find Simon and get back to her own time, preferably without dooming herself in the process. (perhaps she tries to steal the notes Simon has, and Simon's completely oblivious, except Betty can smell trouble from a mile away and immediately notices some pink woman trying to steal books and she goes ham. Perhaps she goes ham in such a way that Simon doesn't notice. Perhaps this goes on for seven acts.)
8.) Bread and Butter AU: Bella Noche during the episode Betty creates a huge black cube that engulfs all of Wizard City. This box acts as a cage and prevents Wizards from escaping the magic purge. Simon is unable to bring Betty back from the past, and he's fading fast. In a desperate attempt to stop things from escalating, Simon chugs a bottle of anti-magic like a fucking god. He gets through the cube that surrounds Bella Noche and knocks their lights out. He passes out, and when he comes to, the anti-magic he consumed as merged with him. This is because of a simple rule: Magic sticks to magic, anti-magic sticks to anti-magic. And since humans have always had just a little bit of anti -magic present within them, humans and anti-magic go together like bread and butter (badumtish) ((I have actually written a fanfic about this, you can find it here))
9.) Swapped AU: Through various shenanigans Ice King's and Magic Man's powers gets swapped. These shenanigans somehow land them in space as well. This happens before Magic Man's trial. The swapping of their powers results in Simon getting his memory back. It also gives Magic Man the Ice Crown, unfortunately for him though, it seems to hate him. Simon's glad to back, but quickly realizes one issue: He's still crazy. So the pair try to make it back to Ooo. MM needs his powers to swap himself with some other shmuck so he doesn't croak when his trial comes, but Simon's made it clear he isn't giving his powers up without a fight. The pair starts off rocky, neither trusting the other, but space trouble forces them to work together. Simon's a nice enough guy he wouldn't leave someone to die and MM really needs Simon alive so it works out. A weird friendship forms, and they learn get along. Just a couple of crazy space wizards. Then the crown is destroyed. MM is freed from the crown's control, and he's freed from magic. He gets his sanity back, just in time for his trial.
that’s all I’ve got for now!

So I watched Chaos Walking(2021)
Yeah, lucky for me, my local theater was open and showing(side note, I love my local theater so much. Like, not to brag but seven dollars for a movie and a snack is so great)
Anyhow, I watched Chaos walking. This is sort of my review.
First off, I read The Knife of Never Letting Go and one third of The Ask and Answer, almost two years ago. When they finally dropped the release date and the trailer, i made the choice not to go reread the first book because i wanted to give the movie a chance and make an exercise of managing my expectations(in preparation for Disney’s Percy Jackson adaptation). Which means not only do I not have a complete understanding of the source material, but I also have a shit memory, so I don’t have a great shot at analyzing this films in adaptation terms, but i’m gonna try anyhow.
So first off, The Noise.
Tumblr media
I found it a bit sketchy that they decided to make the make Noise have visual elements alongside audio but I decided it was fine, since it be pretty hard to bring this to life with only just audio and not make general audiences confused.
Tumblr media
But they did try and do a solid job. Minus not letting us hear the Noise of animals, which sucks. we do see the Noise of a Spackle, but briefly.
The part that really pisses me off is the final confrontation, when the Noise is treated like a Super Power. we see this when Todd scares Davy’s horse by conjuring up an image of big snake, when Mayor Prentiss tricks Viola into a false trap, when  Ben tricks everyone by pretending to give Viola up when in fact he’s buying Todd and the real Viola time to get away, and in the final, Todd distracts Prentiss by conjuring up the image of his mother(complete with bloody wounds) and the various women that died when he was a baby, which caused Prentiss to fall to his death.
I don’t know how the Noise is depicted in the later books, if it was anywhere remotely like this, but i know for sure it doesn’t happen in the first book, which the film is based on.
(Also, how the fuck does Todd know what his mum looks like, or any of the other women and how is he able to bring up their images so perfectly how is ANYONE ABLE REMEMBER SOMEONE WITH THAT MUCH DETAIL That goes beyond photographic memory)
Second bit, the Spackle.
Tumblr media
The design is boring. Its clearly an alien, buts its dark grey, tall, holds its own when Todd attacks it in the film, has zero impact on the film as a whole and pretty boring. I do recall reading the book and imagining them to have faces similar to real world lemurs or Sloths, with big expressive eyes and such, but the CGI monster doesn’t emote for shit in this film. Todd comes at with a knife with every intention of killing it and it shrugs him off and walks away like it wasn’t fucking attacked my gods.
But in short, they only brought up the Spackle because they’re a thing in the world and it teased the bigger concepts of the next books with like, one measly exchange between Todd and Viola. (it went something like this)
Viola:We’re the aliens, though. They’re the natives.
Todd: huh.
Third bit, New World itself. Not a big deal, It looked like how i originally imagined it, no mention of swamp apples, though we see Todd Hewitt use a knife to stab a big ass bug thing for food. i hear some critics consider it lame that the planet isn’t actually alien but eh, whatever, Didn’t really feel an alien vibe reading the book so it doesn’t matter.
Now there’s one bit i have to acknowledge in passing. At one point Todd decides to go get lunch by going into the water with his knife and wrestles with some big ass thing with tentacles. Which is fine, just have a couple of questions.
A: is this in reference to the books? Where there big ass tentacle creatures in the novel that are hunted for lunch?
B:if not, was this the film makers deciding to remind the viewers that yes, they are not on planet earth and to make Todd look cooler and justify why he’s useful for the quest and show how much Viola doesn’t know?
I kinda have to acknowledge the thing.  In that scene, Todd and Viola take a break, and Todd removes his clothes (all of them) and decides to go hunting in the water naked as the day he was born. You may have noticed that the Tom Holland stans are all over this scene because One) the camera focuses on Tom Hollands muscles when he takes his top off and Two) one can see his bare ass in the distance.
Not a big fan off this, just find it interesting because its the most recent example of a Male being objectified by the camera when this never happens once to any of the female characters in the film, including Viola. Also, a touch of weird character detailing because haha, get it? Boy’s never seen a girl before in his life and doesn’t know what modesty means.
Also, very weird because Todd Hewitt in the book was so fucking self conscious that he would never have done that.
Now I gotta talk about the characters.
Tumblr media
( i understand why they aged them up, i truly do, better to get established actors instead of child actors that could more easily break to movie than sell it. its easier to make movies with legal adults instead of working with child labor laws. but damn it you lose so much of the fucking nuance of the novel when you age them up. There’s so much shit that makes an impact because of how young they are. Around the ages of eleven and twelve is when ones understanding of good and evil has its foundation, to me it was like the story was grappling with Todd Hewitt’s very soul and you lose so much of that when you change it to them being older because instead of being just kids in fucked up situations its younger adults in messed up situations. Like ugh. and aging them up leads to even more problems but we’ll fucking get to that)
Tom Holland’s Todd Hewitt is not the Todd Hewitt of the novel. He just ain’t. There is nothing there that reminds of the boy. The acting is solid, don’t get me wrong, but it just ain’t the Todd Hewitt i remember. Neither is Daisy Ridley’s Viola Eade.
(excuse me while i get Percy Jackson flashbacks)
Now, I have to acknowledge the fact that neither actor(actually none of the actors in this film) slouch on the job. They bring solid and at times very good acting.(If Tom Holland is in the film, its not going to be complete waste of time. He brings quality.)
Honestly, respect to Mr Holland because he was basically the main character, not only acting but also doing voice  and various stunts(also huge credit to the stunt coordinators and stuntmen) and I heard that filming wasn’t that great and bloody broke his nose how many times like damn boy, hats off to you.
But here’s the thing. I don’t want to say that Holland was playing himself or just a version of peter Parker, because i really don’t think he wasn’t but it just. Didn’t feel like a legit character? Especially when compared to the novel. Like Todd Hewitt in the novel is such a raw force of emotion and such a smartass and i was so looking forward for Holland to own this role but in the movie he just? Awkward dude going through some stuff?
but yeah, Holland works his ass off and there are some scenes and moments in the movie that work just because this fellow is just that charming, so (shrug emoji) like i said, He doesn’t waste your time at least.
Ridley....sigh. i know this woman can act. But next to the character who’s thoughts are heard constantly she’s very boring. And it hurts so much because Viola has an actual personality in the novel like; I’m ninety percent sure that Viola hits Todd with a big stick and I do remember that there were multiple moments where she lets Todd know when he’s being a dumbass.(seriously, i may have a shit memory of the book, but i do remember that they play off each other well and hugely entertaining seeing two twelve-year-olds handle the shit getting thrown at them)
Like, Viola in the film doesn’t really have much going on. We see the crash, we hear about the graves she dug herself, we see her be sad, we see her look at Todd like weirdo, we see her look horrified or shocked. (its so sad that I only remember the facial expressions more clearly than the actual dialogue) We really have no idea what the hell is going on with Viola Eade. I don’t think we can blame Ridley, only the film makers, because how can you see Viola Eade in the novel and then turn her into that????
i do have to talk about the relationship between Tom Holland’s Todd Hewitt and Daisy Ridley’s Viola Eade, even though its painful. In the novel, them is just two kids on a really tough adventure.  Because they aged them up, its not two kids old enough to run for the playground when recess starts. Its Teenagers.
First question, HOW OLD ARE THEY??? Is Todd sixteen? Eighteen? Seventeen? He sure as hell ain’t Thirteen in this. What about Viola? I mean, big shout out to the hair and makeup team for making 28-year-old Daisy Ridley look so much younger but how. OLD. IS.SHE? Nineteen? Twenty? Twenty-one? Pretty sure she’s older than him in this? I ask because it MATTERS.
The way they play off each other has a vastly different energy to the novel because they are aged up. Its pretty obvious pretty fast that Todd’s feelings are basically a big crush, though not all of it is superficial as the film progresses. And Viola is clearly not receptive to that in the film. (honestly i cringed so hard at the “daydream kiss’ and whatever the hell that was in the Farbranch mayor’s house)
The relationship in the film just doesn’t have the nuance or the energy that the novel had in depicting their relationship which is depressing for all the Todd x Viola fans i’m sure. There’s some adorable bits though, like Viola seeing Todd’s dream of her playing with Manchee, and not so adorable canon bits like when Viola read the diary to Todd.
I’m just grateful that the film at least ended with them being friends instead of trying to force the romantic relationship. That right there is why I like the movie. It’s a crush, its used for a couple laughs, they’re friends, its fine. Even if you didn’t read the novel that’s really great for a movie in this day and age to not end with forcing two opposite sex characters into a relationship. To be honest, I like the idea that the film leaves us thinking that yeah, maybe these two could be real friends one day.
I just want to touch on Manchee real quick.
Tumblr media
Manchee’s Noise is not seen or heard in the film. It is briefly acknowledged by Todd ins their first scene but other than that? Nada. Which is a low blow in comparison to the novel because Manchee was a character in his own right, which is why the death hit so hard.
Todd?” he barks, confused and scared and watching me leave him behind. “Todd?” “Manchee!” I scream. Aaron brings his free hand towards my dog. “MANCHEE!” “Todd?” And Aaron wrenches his arms and there’s a CRACK and a scream and a cut-off yelp that tears my heart in two forever and forever. And the pain is too much it’s too much it’s too much and my hands are on my head and I’m rearing back and my mouth is open in a never-ending wordless wail of all the blackness that’s inside of me.”
in the film, it takes place in white rapids, So its chaotic, its awful, the veiwer’s all stressed out because Viola can’t swim, everyone's getting separated and Aaron’s there and he is seen drowning Manchee.
Dude, its brief, but not pretty. Because you can see Manchee’s legs trashing above the water, struggling to get free. Aaron is drowning a dog, letting its lungs fill with water. For the folks that don’t like watching dogs die in graphic detail on screen, this isn’t great.
Personally, I love this scene in the novel. Its the first time i had to put the book down and take a moment. It hit really close to home for me, because i watched my own dog die in real life. It was emotional and horrifying and had such a fucking impact because we could hear his thoughts. Todd had to make the choice to leave him behind to keep Viola safe. To be honest, i think the death is better in the novel, since Manchee basically dies instantly instead of drowning, which takes time(I’ve always assumed that his neck was snapped but I’ve heard others say it was the psine but whatever) it would have been easy and necessary for them to not show that on screen. I personally just think that in terms of depicting a violent death, the novel did a lot better.
Anyway, on to the other characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I had to choose the one with the big orange fluffy coat, and i couldn’t find a good pic og Ben and Cillian on google images.)
As for Mayor Prentiss, he’s played by Mads Mikkelsen, and he delivers. But for the most part, we don’t really know why he’s the bad guy, he just wants to get Viola because “she’s the key” which isn’t really explained, and at the end he tries his hardest to kill Todd.
Because i only read the first book, I don’t know what exactly his character arc is. And since its been a really long while, I don’t remember what he’s like in the novel regardless, other than the cliffhanger ending.
I did take a quick crashcourse  through the wiki and it turns out that Todd and Prentiss have a relationship in the later books, which the film sort of touches on, because Todd looks up to Prentiss in the film from the get go.
To be honest, I knew that the trilogy was a lot more complex, and even though I didn’t read the whole thing I knew it would be really disappointing for the fans to see the mayor be hollowed out to almost unrecognizable and not getting to see the whole picture on screen.
As for Davy Prentiss Jr., he was an asshole and stayed an asshole. I know he improves and gets killed off in the novels, so yeah, exhibit B of character foundations not being laid down because there isn’t gonna be a movie after this. Also, why is he played by Nick Jonas? Did they actually have more in mind for him when they decided to go with a Jonas brother or was it just star power?
As for Aaron...don’t have much to say about him, other than just being pretty weird fit to the film. I think he’s after Viola because he’s just that full of delusions but other than that, his character is just flat and useless. (I wish to the gods that writers would actually think instead of going with “religious delusion” to explain insanity) He only brought tension in a few scenes for the most part. I’m pretty sure that in the novel Todd and Aaron have a confrontation, like the final fight of the novel, and I’m 90% sure that its where the Novel gets the Knife of never Letting Go as its title, because the knife is big deal at that point. But I guess they wanted Viola to have a quick boss battle for the ending and set him on fire.
Ben and Cillian were fine. They did a good job, the actors were pretty great, I liked Cillian, and i like how they acknowledged that these dudes were family(i know that they’re gay and a couple but the film doesn’t say it outloud beyond letting them sleep in the same bed, be Todd’s parents, and having Ben hold Cillian in his arms) I get a kick out of the fact that the official reviews by Movie Critics are openly curious about why the film doesn’t make it more obvious that they’re gay, but whatever.
As for the overall plot, this is a fine example of mashing three books into one film and not having good results. Instead of going to Haven, the movie decided to shortcut the ending and go to the original ship that somehow has working tech but whatever, Viola needs to communicate to her ship. So not only do we not get the great relationship between Todd and Viola, not only do we not get the Spackle, Not only do we not get to see the noise of Manchee, not only do we have poor character adaptation, we also don’t get to have a plot that matches THE ONE BOOK THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO ADAPT. THEY HAD ONE FUCKING JOB AND THEY COULDN'T ADAPT THE ONE BOOK-
Its only so sad that they decided that this was going to be a one-shot deal because they didn’t have faith in the film and chose to have all the threads tied up. I mean, its so sad for the fans because the movie makes it very clear that we are not going to have anymore movies. sigh.
slight respect towards the film makers for tying up all the story threads instead of leaving them hanging. they did a neat job, even if it wasn’t a great one.
Anyway, maybe later on when google images has more than the promotional material I’ll do a review of only the good stuff this movie did, even if its a sad pathetic failure of an adaptation. Anyway this review is a bit of a mess and already so long so i’ll stop now.
May the gods give us strength against all the Tom Holland stans that will inevitably clog up the Chaos Walking tag with their Todd Hewitt x reader fanfics.

10 Characters for 10 people
Thank you for the tag @aoristiandariostis !! It's going to be difficult to choose only 10 favourite characters, but challenge accepted! I send the same challenge to @mizaelloverno107, @sienasiesta, @galaxymaster360, @ayse7124, @vector3996, @karenusia, @baddyzarc, @little-mx-cryptic, @aerialartistic, @animalgirl2018 and anyone who comes across this and wants to do it!
1) Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief
Tumblr media
This is one of my absolute favourite books and movie. I remember watching this at school when I was in fifth grade and loving it and love her character. This story sets at the time of the Nazi Germany and the character of Liesel in front our eyes has been through very rough times in her early childhood, she has experienced and seen premature death from a very tender age and since the novel takes place during World War II, death is omnipresent and she constantly puts her own life on the line with her actions. She has a very unique prospective of life and was really fascinated by the power of the words, in fact she is referred as a "book thief", she has pretty much put her life on the line just to learn how to read and understand the meaning of the words, with which she has saved a life and saved her own.
2) Dolowa/Droite/Dextra from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and II
Tumblr media
This character lays a special place in my heart. Droite is presented as a classy business woman type but rather here she seems to be a person with a duty of the Maintenance of Security in the tower belonging to its creator and the Mayor, as his right hand woman, it is also confirmed that she's an elite. The reason I began to like her it's because how her true layers of personality quickly contrasted the typical business woman/seductive persona, she was nothing like it even though most of the time, the characters similar to her character design are portrayed that way. She's purely devoted to her loved ones and she doesn't got tip to toe with her boss' wishes and would face any consequnces for them. She's caring and capable and her Dueling tactics were really cool.
3) Mebara Keiichi from Higurashi no naku koro ni (kai, rei, kira)
Tumblr media
I love love love him. Keichii is hilarious, funny, easily can get attached to but he's a tragic hero. He breaks the chains of tragic fate in utterly hopeless situations and I love how much he cares about his friends. It's absolutely tragic the deaths they have to go through, and luckly they came past it and Keichii played a great role in breaking those tragic chains.
4) Ellen/Viola from The Witch House
Tumblr media
The Witch's House is an JRPG game and I am so sad that this doesn't have an anime or something because the plot is really awsome. Anyway, the character of Ellen, she's the main villain, so I should feel no sorrow and sympathy for this b- bery very bad person, and especially not include her in the favourite list, but my kokoro can't be helped, even though I absolutely hate her character out of frustration, but she has a tragic ass backstory to make feel damn emotional for. I hate her but I also love her, idk anymore... Next!
5) Sana from Kodomo no Omocha or Rossana
Tumblr media
She's super energetic, and kind and compassionate and querky, silly, stupid sometimes but also very intelligent and mature. We saw so many phases of herself and her character grow. Even though she goes through really tough times, or even dying almsot, she always has a huge heart of her to forgive and come out of trauma and look at life very brightly. She was definately my role model and I am still surprised when I rewatch the way she handled her problems, and she had tones in the anime since she's an actress and lots of teenage drama. Her approach to problems was somehow many times applicable to my life and I still feel inspired by her. She's really an awsome character.
6) Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
Tumblr media
I immediately fell in love with her character the moment she volunteered for her sister. She's incredibly selfless, devoted, brave and ribellious, however it's a shame the reason that everything started by trying to protect that person is taken away from her. I loved how she realised that President Coin is just another President Snow and she killed the right person and rightfully allowed the citizens of the Districts to kill Snow. There were so many parts of the book and scenes of the movie that really drawn such a high opinion of her but I can't talk about everything other than the beginning and the end, otherwise I would take ages
7) Phoenix Wright from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Dual Destiny, everything that has Phoenix and my babies Apollo and Atena in it!!)
Tumblr media
I admire how he believes the innocence of the people and is after the truth and not winning the case, he's true, genuine and honest. I love how he does the extreme to repay people back, literally make them either his assistant, adopted daughter, his apprentice, his husband (yes I am talking about Edgy), I can't even take account of at this point.
8) Shuici Saihara from Danganronpa
Tumblr media
I have a thing for Detectives with the name that starts with a "S", the only reason I didn't put Shinici Kudo from Detective Conan because I couldn't keep up with the series and honestly I can't, maybe one day when my online classes will end, anyway... Shuici, I like his detective work, his reasoning and the bond she formed with Kaede and his sidekick Kaito, it makes me cry just remembering it, and he's actually sensitive. I loved him even more after his reactions in Love Hotel and secret scenes. The character of Kaede was a huge influence on him, he didn't want to find the truth before because he was scared, but then he took off his cap and solved cases with his head up in the sky (I still can't get over the feels from the fact Kaede's portrait is always on Shuici's side in scrum debate to show she's always with him even after death 😭)
9) Alvin Junior from The Walking Dead
Tumblr media
Even though I followed the series of Walking Dead for a very long time, I really got attached to Alvin Junior as much as Clementine, he's just a young god and can't convince me otherwise. Some fans didn't like AJ that much because he was new but I really saw AJ like a young Clem and Clementine now being in Lee's shoes and protecting AJ with her life just as Lee did with hers. AJ is such a mood sometimes and also really reliable. He had to make really hard calls poor guy, but I am really glad to having a happy ending
10) Agatha from the Dark Deception
Tumblr media
Agatha is a merciless monster and a spoiled brat that will say that you're cheating by speed boost while she teleport and cut you into a corner while we're running, but I still love her <3

Oh FUCK what kind of choice?????? Kravitz is like. The Most Intriguing to me like??? Ok id so b down for a spin off of taako & lup pre-IPRE and pre-starblaster!!!! But!!!!! Who Was Kravitz? Thanks
!!!
okay so for kravitz, i always pictured him as a musician (and occasionally a composer) who aspired to be a conductor, you know? basically already 50% canonical, just griffin never said anything about what kravitz was before being a conductor. and, with that, my headcanon was always, “okay, kravitz fell ill and died and just managed to charm his way into the raven queen’s court (and heart as her honorary son essentially askdklfkj)”
but, also, i’m quite fond of the headcanons i’ve seen that were either like, “kravitz died in a necromantic ritual which is why the raven queen gave him a second shot at life” or, “kravitz was actually a necromancer in his life and did the bounty hunting as a type of punishment but ended up digging it”
and then i was like, “okay but what if there’s a middle ground”
and thus, i thought of, “kravitz tried to pursue eternal life but never actually committed any necromantic crimes”
which i will embellish more here:
(disclaimer: as always, i am not trying to force my headcanons onto anyone, i’m just here having fun and being a bit self indulgent)
so, as stated, my headcanon for kravitz is that, while he wanted to be a conductor, he was also an incredibly skilled musician and was working on composing some pieces
and, my dudes? he was fucking great. i personally see him basically having expertise at the cello, and also dabbling in the bass and viola, and he was on his way to becoming incredibly renowned.
and so, partially based on some of my own fears/thoughts and partially to mirror johann, kravitz starts getting a bit... nervous about the overall fatality of life. i personally headcanon that he was more of a sickly child that grew into a somewhat-healthier-but-still-sorta-sickly adult who, besides having a general fear of dying, was also nervous about the fact that, one day, all that will be left of him is what people remember of his talents, and maybe the pieces he composed if they ever get that far. and he- he wants to be... if not remembered, then at least alive.
and- i think kravitz knows that necromancy is some shady stuff. i think he knows that a lot of people can get hurt when necromancy is in play, and i don’t think he would ever want to hurt anyone. at the end of the day, he’s a really nice, charming, talented guy who just... doesn’t want to be gone one day.
and i also think, as a bard, even if he can do some magic, he’s not like a wizard or a sorcerer. if he even considered liches, i think he would know that he wouldn’t be able to maintain himself.
so, he tries something different: the elixir of life (which, ironically, is sometimes known as the philosopher’s stone)
(also, little sidebar here, the reason i chose this route is bc people trying to find eternal life through psuedo-magic and possibly dangerous means is, like, my favorite thing ever)
so kravitz does extensive research. he reads articles, books, tomes, all for days, weeks, and even some months. he reads everything he can about the elixir, even if it’s just a vague recording of someone having it in their possession.
and he never finds an exact location of a vial but, in a tome that is at least a century older than him, he finds it: a recipe.
and kravitz is a smart guy. he knows that recipes in general need to be exact, and magical recipes even more so. but he’s nervous, and he’s thinking too much about life, and perhaps he can feel himself coming down with something that wracks his lungs with dry coughs all throughout the night, so he tries his hand at it. he goes miles, hours, out of his way to find apothecaries that carry all the ingredients. he spends days and nights brewing and constantly restarting, doing his best to make sure that every measurement is perfect and that everything is boiling just at the right temperature.
and then, finally, a day comes where he’s confident. the elixir looks just like how the recipe said it would, and it’s glowing, and it looks perfect.
so, kravitz drinks.
and, immediately, he can tell something is wrong.
see, my personal headcanon with the fabled elixir of life is that, if even one thing is slightly off, the potion crumbles and, instead of being something potent and powerful and eternal, it just becomes a vial full of some of the most dangerous magical ingredients all put together.
and kravitz doesn’t have time to think about what went wrong- his last thought is that this was all a mistake, and then-
and then he wakes up. and, for just a moment, he thinks that perhaps it was all a bad dream, or perhaps he actually survived, and then he notices the bleak, grey hall around him. the only splashes of color are the deep red, velvet curtains framing the windows, and the same colored cushions on the occasional chair or bench.
and then he looks up.
and, on the throne down that hall, he sees a beautiful woman. i personally see the raven queen as very live action morticia addams-esque, but you picture whatever floats your boat.
anyway, he sees this woman sitting there, and her features are sharp and, if kravitz squints, it looks like her hands are even more... clawed? taloned?
and she just says, “well, isn’t this interesting.”
and so, this woman, who kravitz quickly learns is the raven queen (aka the goddess of life and death, which, like, oh shit), explains to him the situation: he is dead, but cannot enter the sea of souls due to something blocking him from entering, but yet there is no record saying that he needs to be locked up in the eternal stockade because... technically he didn’t commit a death crime. the elixir didn’t work. if it did, and in seventy years, kravitz was still thirty-two and young and handsome, then there would be an issue. but, at worst, the most kravitz could be tried for was conspiring to defy the natural laws of life and death.
“i honestly should just put you in the eternal stockade for conspiring to never come to the astral plane,” the raven queen says. “souls who conspire to leave the astral plane get thrown in there, after all.”
“wait-” and kravitz swallows the panic bubbling in his gut “-what if i can help you?”
and kravitz doesn’t even know what he’s saying. he’s been a bard his whole life, he’s not a fighter. perhaps he could patrol the stockade and stay on this goddess’s good side, but-
but the raven queen gives him an option. either he stays in the stockade for a little while until he’s proven that he can behave, and then he goes to the sea of souls-
or he becomes her bounty hunter. for millenia, she’s been the one handling all the death crimes... but the thought of kravitz helping her out is quite tempting.
and, for a second, kravitz is torn. either way, he’s dead. if he returns to the sea of souls, then that’s it. if he’s a bounty hunter, then he can still visit the mortal realm and still be kravitz, he just can’t... do what he used to.
but, essentially, it’s a second chance.
so, he takes it. and then the raven queen gives him a skeletal form, and reveals her true form (it’s terrifying and bird-like and yet kravitz can’t help but be fascinated). and then she arms him with a scythe and sends him to the stockade- not as a prisoner, but as a tenant.
and, surprisingly quickly, kravitz grows to... love his job. he thinks the raven queen is wonderful, he was able to bring his instruments to the astral plane, and, even though things occasionally get very rough and the idea of being actually dead really catches up to him, being an overseer of the natural orders of life and death is, at the very least, interesting.
(and then this also leads into my favorite personal headcanon that kravitz is, like, a demi-god and essentially the heir to the raven queen)
so, yeah!!! that’s my how-kravitz-came-to-be-the-grim-reaper headcanon!!!

Awake My Soul
Chapter 1: Midnight
Enjolras was lucky he had a backbone of steel or he would never have made it as a concert pianist. Or rather, it was more likely that this backbone of steel is precisely the reason he was one of the foremost concert pianists in the world. That and his stubbornness, which was almost as well-known as his deft and light touch on the keys, especially among conductors. The days were long, the hours grueling, and often the last thing that Enjolras wanted to do was sit on that cushioned stool that knew him so well and make music once more. And today, standing in his crisp freshly dry-cleaned suit, he dreaded the performance that was to start. He could hear the crowd buzzing outside, and as he peeked out from behind the curtain, he saw a large mass of people mingling through the red cushioned seats, talking and laughing. Probably trying to impress each other with how many composers they could critique without ever having touched an instrument, Enjolras thought cynically. It wasn’t that he was nervous. Enjolras was never nervous, and certainly not about playing the piano. It was that the thought of having to socialize with people after the performance, people who were all scraping to impress him by speaking abstract music theory, making him want to tear his hair out. It hadn’t always been this way. When he was young and had first discovered that he had a talent for producing emotion out of so many gleaming keys, he had been overjoyed. He spent hours in front of them, losing himself in music. He hadn’t ever looked at practicing as a chore; he had always loved those hours he had to himself, stroking those smooth ivory keys. He hadn’t really considered becoming a professional pianist until his eighth grade piano teacher Mabeuf had encouraged him to think about it, to go on tour and do various performances, to work with his local symphony. It had been hard, but it hadn’t been a struggle. Anyone who heard Enjolras play could tell he had a natural talent, and there was no question of them wanting to continue his path. His difficulties did not stem from piano playing; they stemmed from the culture surrounding the piano. From his youth, to his inexperience, to his penchant for picking eccentric composers to perform, the music world was shaken up by Enjolras’ refusal to stick to convention. This event was one that had been unavoidably cliché. He was doing a short Christmas tour performing Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, accompanied by symphonies dotted throughout the country, and even the world. Tonight he was in Paris. Enjolras would complain more, but he had to admit that though The Nutcracker was too commodified for the time of Christmas, he truly and sincerely loved Tchaikovsky’s genius. Now there was a man who didn’t give a rat’s ass about the “rules” of classical music and composed primarily from his human experience in order to make some of the most incredibly moving and evocative music ever played. So though Enjolras loved Tchaikovsky, he just hated that every Christmas the classical world trotted out the tired Nutcracker and then put it back in its box to gather dust until the next winter. Tchaikovsky had written such transformative music, and he was remembered for a toy that came to life to visit a Sugar Plum Fairy. He was such a brilliant three dimensional person, and the consumerism of art had made him two dimensional, flat, and worn-out. He shook himself. He needed to get out of this headspace before the concert. He always didn’t play as well when he was in his head. He checked his watch. Soon he’d be stepping out on the stage, and seating himself before an expensive piano as the entire room filled with costly clothes and extravagant jewelry held their breath in anticipation. He headed back to the dressing room. On nights like this, he wished Joly hadn’t made him quit smoking.
                                                             *  *  *
The afterparty was about as dull as Enjolras had expected. For a blessed two hours he had practically forgotten the audience was there and immersed himself in Tchaikovsky’s bold chords and tender melodies, only resurfacing at the thunderous and yet politely refined applause that followed his final piece. Then it had been back to the reality of old white people who were bowing and scraping and using large words to impress him. That wasn’t even the worst. Enjolras detested those who knew nothing about music giving overly loud commentary on music that they had clearly read from the Le Monde or some other critique because it was incongruent with what they thought or said. This party had all of his least favorite things, people who wanted him to meet old friends, who asked him about his inspiration, who probed his opinion on the “death of appreciation of the fine arts that is currently occurring.” When Enjolras saw Combeferre from across the room, he almost melted in relief at a familiar face. He excused himself politely from his insipid conversation and made a beeline towards Combeferre, who was speaking with one of the cellists in Paris’s orchestra. Seeing Enjolras coming his way, he also disentangled himself from his conversation and met him halfway, champagne flute clutched elegantly between his fingers. “Thank God you’re here,” Enjolras breathed, feeling the anxiety in his chest loosen at just the sight of his face - calm brown eyes framed by neat horn-rimmed glasses, smile lines beginning to form at the corners of his mouth.
“That bad tonight?” Combeferre inquired coolly, taking a neat swig from his champagne flute in a way that looked elegant but conveyed to Enjolras that he too was tired of the elitism and racism that he had faced that night. “I’ve had several people look away and clear their throats or straight up leave every time I even allude to the fact that Tchaikovsky was gay.” “I see. Pretty bad, then.” “I need to get out of here,” Enjolras said, more to himself than Combeferre. “Want to go catch a drink at some hole in the wall bar where no one knows shit about classical music?” Combeferre quirked his brow. Enjolras calculated quickly - he had definitely spent enough time at this party to argue that he hadn’t skived it off. “Give me ten minutes to change and get my shit. Meet me in your car by the green room.” “It sounds like this is a high-stake diamond robbery.” Combeferre set his now empty champagne glass on a nearby table, nonchalantly, as if he planned on spending the entire evening here. Sometimes Enjolras truly and deeply loved Combeferre. “You haven’t met Javert,” Enjolras said soberly.
                                                            *  *  *
Combeferre drove them through the rain-washed streets of Paris after the hasty getaway that had included creeping through the parking lot without their lights on, despite the fact that Combeferre had adamantly wanted to obey the law. Combeferre was himself a classical musician and a fellow Frenchman. He played the viola, and though Enjolras knew relatively little about the viola, he loved the way that Combeferre played it. He was currently at the Lyons Symphony, but had come to Paris just to see Enjolras. They had played together in the Berlin Symphony for several years, and had bonded over their position as outsiders, fed up with the snobbery and elitism that pervaded the entire institution. One night they had openly admitted to each other how often they had almost left the music world behind because of the exhausting pace that it set for everyone, but more importantly because of the micro aggressions they saw daily. They had vowed together on that night to tough it out together - to stay to welcome the other “outsiders” that would come. And they had been fast friends ever since.
They found a little bar at a safe distance from the symphony hall, and ordered some drinks. They settled in, shedding their various layers. Enjolras was relieved and also impressed to see that Combeferre had managed to change out of his well-tailored suit and into a sweater and jeans. It made them more inconspicuous. “So - how are you finding Lyons?” Enjolras asked without preamble. He was curious. Combeferre had been there about three months, and Enjolras was itching to hear about it. Combeferre toyed with his drink, poking the straw at the ice that was sticking to the sides. “It’s alright. It’s always a little hard in the beginning. It’s nice to be in France again, quite honestly.” “I can believe it. France has its problems, but I would take it over Berlin most days.” And it was true. Enjolras like Berlin, but something about France made the fire reignite in his blood. Combeferre grinned. “I almost forgot how much you love France.” “Impossible. I’m told I’m very memorable.” “And modest too.” Combeferre shot back, before closing his mouth around his straw for a pull. “My enviable qualities aside, how is it besides being in France?” “Better than Berlin I think. Don’t get me wrong - the social circles like the donors and the regulars - they are more snobbish. But the people in the actual symphony and the conductor are much better than they were in Berlin.” “There’s always a trade-off,” Enjolras commented, rolling his eyes slightly. Combeferre shrugged. “I’d rather get shit from people I only have to see once a month than every day.” “Yes, but since they are the ones with the money, we let them think they’re right and let them act however they want even though they don’t know shit! It just means the institution of classical music never changes because none of us ever get the courage to tell a few rich people off now and again!” Combeferre shot him a look, and Enjolras deflated. “Yeah, I know. Not tonight.” “Tell me about how it’s going on your end,” Combeferre said, switching the subject. Enjolras exhaled loudly. “I feel so exhausted and worn out. I think my music has lost some of its edge because I’ve let all these toxic experiences associated with my playing seep into it.” “What do you mean to do about it?” Combeferre met Enjolras’ gaze steadily across the table, both an acknowledgment of the difficulty it had taken for Enjolras to utter those words and a steady encouragement. “I don’t know. Why do you think I will do something about it?” Enjolras asked, surprised. “Because you’re a man of action. You see a problem - you do something.” “It’s just such a big problem,” Enjolras said, trailing off. “Maybe I just need a different scene.” Combeferre sat up straighter. “Wait! I know just the thing!” His face was alight with possibility, and Enjolras felt himself being drawn in. Enjolras shot him a confused look. “What do you mean?” “When does your tour finish?” “Next week. And don’t get me wrong - I am counting the days.” And he was. Just six more days and then he was blissfully free of the Nutcracker. Javert already had a lot of plans for things to do next, but nothing had yet been finalized. “Well….” Combeferre lowered his gaze, stirring his drink with a straw, collecting his words carefully. Enjolras could tell he wasn’t sure how he would take this suggestion. “Well, what?” Enjolras said, slightly curious, but also impatient. “Out with it.” “One of my friends, Courfeyrac. I think I have mentioned him to you.” Combeferre met Enjolras’ eyes as he racked his brain. Then it came to him. “Kind of short? Curly hair? Everything he says is a rainbow?” Enjolras asked. “You could say that, I suppose,” Combeferre laughed. “He’d love that description.” “What about him?” Enjolras asked, his curiosity only heightening. “He’s a ballet dancer at the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris.” Enjolras whistled. “Good for him. That takes hard work. Isn’t it the oldest ballet company in France?” Combeferre nodded, his smile fading from his face. “And he puts the hard work in - he’s amazing. But anyways, I was talking to him earlier and he said that they are looking for a pianist for their upcoming performance. They want a live pianist. It’s a performance of Giselle, but they wanted to try something a little different. They haven’t found anyone yet, so Courfeyrac said to keep my ear out for any dissatisfied concert pianists who wanted to try something new.” Enjolras considered it. It was an interesting thought, and he always wanted to fly in the face of convention. But also, he wasn’t sure how much of the ballet world he could take either. That industry wasn’t exactly welcoming – it went through dancers more quickly than pointe shoes. “I don’t know.” Enjolras said simply. Combeferre nodded. “Just think about it. I mean, it can hardly hurt your career. You’re one of the best pianists in the world.” Enjolras blushed slightly. He wasn’t modest, but it made him uncomfortable when people made those kinds of comments to him. They moved on to different and lighter topics, but he kept the thought in the back of his mind even after he and Combeferre parted ways and he went back to his empty and muffled hotel room, feeling almost separate from the world that continued to move around him. The next day as he disembarked from his plane on to the soil of Copenhagen, he gave Combeferre a call. It looked like Enjolras was about to enter the world and tradition of ballet. He didn’t let himself think about it too much. He just wanted a change of pace, to be able to stay in one place for an extended period of time, avoiding the public eye for a couple of months. Or so he told himself. At the pit of his stomach he felt a clench of nerves that he hadn’t felt in years. He could only hope it was a good sign.

Too Much Information - Character Interview
Thanks @curiousartemis for sharing this questionnaire.
Filled out for the Dragonborn heroine of my Skyrim fanfic: The Bonds of Civility.
► Name ➔  Cecilia Ameliana Curinwe Varo.
► Are you single ➔ No. I'm engaged to be married to Ulfric Stormcloak, the Jarl of Windhelm.
► Are you happy ➔ It really depends on what time of the day you ask me. I've had such a mix of wonderful and terrible experiences lately. I'd say happier than not, though if you come back in a few hours, you might find me sobbing my heart out.
► Are you angry ➔ More and more every day. Being angry at enemies, like the Thalmor, seems appropriate. But I've lately been struggling with anger at my friends, family and allies. Many of my current problems stem from the fact that when I needed to defeat Alduin, *no one* would just help me with that. Not without getting something out of it for themselves.
They had their reasons - they all do - and now my father has *his* reasons for the way he's ignoring my choices. But it still makes me angry.
I don't like feeling that anger. Mostly, I try not to think about it.
► Are your parents still married ➔ That's an unfortunate way of putting it. My mother died two years ago. But yes, they were married till her death.
NINE FACTS
► Birth Place ➔ My maternal grandparents' estate in the Nibenay. Big delapidated manor in the countryside. I lived there with my mother the first five years of my life.
► Hair Color ➔ Dark brown. The Nords call it black sometimes.
► Eye Color ➔ Pale blue. Just like my mother and grandmother. My grandmother was from Haafingar, and that's the only trace of Nord you'll see in me.
► Birthday ➔ 19 Sun's Dusk.
► Mood ➔ Even-tempered, with a very sunny disposition. Usually. Quietly sarcastic and judgmental.
► Gender ➔ Female
► Summer or winter ➔ Summer. I grew up in warm places. And then the gods stick me in Skyrim. I could cry sometimes.
► Morning or afternoon ➔ Morning. I'm at my freshest then, ready to tackle the day.
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE
► Are you in love ➔ . . . I don't know.
► Do you believe in love at first sight ➔ I believe in it. My father fell in love at first sight with my mother. But no, it's not happened to me.
► Who ended your last relationship ➔ I've never been in a romantic relationship, really. There have been men I've flirted with. Nothing serious.
► Have you ever broken someone’s heart ➔ I hope not! I suppose you're asking about romance. In which case, Regulus Umbranox is going to be fine.
I do worry I've broken my father's heart, though.
► Are you afraid of commitments ➔ No. I think I've proved that lately.
► Have you hugged someone within the last week? ➔ Yes. I hugged Jarl Ulfric when I came back to Windhelm the other night. Surprised me as well as him.
► Have you ever had a secret admirer ➔ A few. I was very unapproachable back in Cyrodiil. A combination of my family's fame, my father's over-protectiveness, and my disinterest kept admirers at a distance. I've got some pretty strange anonymous love-notes over the years.
There's also my childhood friend, Regulus Umbranox, who is now the Count of Anvil. He *thinks* he's a secret admirer. Regulus is a good friend, so it was very annoying when he started mooning over me. We were about fifteen then. And he kept it up till I left Anvil last year. But he never actually said anything to me. Just to his parents and mine. [rolls eyes] I was never interested in him, but that approach made me very uninterested.
Skyrim is better when it comes to this. People tell me outright that they're in love with me (well, they're in love with the legend of the Dragonborn), and I politely send them on their way. No hard feelings or dancing around the subject forever.
► Have you ever broken your own heart? ➔ I think I may be doing just that right now. The closer I get to Jarl Ulfric, the more I share his pain.
SIX CHOICES
► Love or lust ➔ Love. I'm not very hot-blooded. It's not that I hate the idea of passion or haven't experienced any physical attraction. It's just - I've never desperately wanted anyone like that.
► Lemonade or iced tea ➔ Lemonade. In Anvil, there were lemon trees in our back garden. Lemons of course are not widely available in Skyrim. Maybe I can import some.
► Cats or Dogs ➔ Cats. They don't expect very much of you and can look after themselves. I appreciate that.
► A few best friends or many regular friends ➔ I would have said a few best friends, but ever since I came to Skyrim, I've been accumulating all sorts of interesting acquaintances. It's a bit overwhelming, but at least half of them are lovely people I want to know better.
► Wild night out or romantic night in ➔  I was going to say romantic night in, then I remembered that party in Dragonsreach after I defeated Alduin. That was the best night of my life. Oh, you mean with a lover? Definitely, romantic night in, then. Get them alone.
► Day or night ➔ Day. You can get more done in the day. Night in the wilderness can be terrifying.
FIVE HAVE YOU EVERS
► Been caught sneaking out ➔ Out of the College of Winterhold. By an Imperial Legate who is much too good at his job. Fortunately, Legate Fasendil decided to let me go.
On a less serious note, my friend Larissa Umbranox found a secret way out of Anvil Castle when we were kids. So, sometimes when I'd go over to the Castle to play, we'd sneak out together: Larissa, Regulus, and I, and play along the shoreline. We were never supposed to be there on our own; we'd been warned all about kidnappers and pirates and vengeful elves. We had lots of fun until Regulus and Larissa's younger sister, Oriana, told on us.
► Fallen down/up the stairs ➔ Yes. I mean, who hasn't? Down the stairs, that is. Maybe I'll fall up the stairs when I'm an addled old mage.
► Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? ➔ Yes. Very recently. Who? Well . . . you know.
► Wanted to disappear ➔ All the time! Not permanently. I'd come back. I just need to rest and refresh. I can't disappear, though. I have to keep on going.
FOUR PREFERENCES
► Smile or eyes ➔ Smile. Eyes come alive when someone smiles.
► Shorter or Taller ➔ It's intimidating how tall these Nords are, Jarl Ulfric included. I won't complain, but if I had my way, I'd even up our heights a bit.
► Intelligence or Attraction ➔ Are those opposites? Oh, you're asking what first sparks my interest. Intelligence, then.
► Hook-up or Relationship ➔ Relationship. Two things I've always wanted in a lover: Friendship and a shared wish to raise children together.
FAMILY
► Do you and your family get along ➔ Unfortunately, no. Not at the moment. My father is an Imperial loyalist and he disapproves of my choices. My grandmother and uncle probably would too if I talked to them.
►Would you say you have a “messed up life” ➔ I might now! But it was messed up by none other than Akatosh, apparently. So it might be ungrateful to call it that. Before discovering I was Dragonborn, my life was very ordinary and placid.
► Have you ever run away from home ➔ No.
► Have you ever gotten kicked out ➔ No.
FRIENDS
► Do you secretly hate one of your friends ➔ Hate's a strong word, but there are people I'm friendly with who really rub me the wrong way. I just grin and bear it and never say it out loud. People who are getting on my nerves lately: Njada Stonearm, Viola Giordano, and Steward Jorleif.
► Do you consider all of your friends good friends ➔ No. When you're in my position, you have to be friendly to so many people, and hope that they'll come through for you. But some of them are fairweather friends, no doubt of that.
► Who is your best friend ➔ My housecarl Lydia.
► Who knows everything about you ➔ Lydia. An exaggeration, but what she doesn't know, she's busy finding out. She's probably the only person who'd know all my answers here.

Year-End Awards 2018
Tumblr media
2018 sucked personally, professionally, and politically. But hey, at least the movies sucked too!
Ok, there were plenty of good movies. But the bad vastly outnumbered the good, and the highlights weren’t especially high. Even my favorite filmmakers had weak years: Wes Anderson and the Coen brothers both put out some of their most mediocre films in 2018.
But no year is devoid of value, and damned if I won’t do my best to find it. Let’s dive into the only blog post I still do, the year-end awards.
(Honorable mentions, as always, are listed in no particular order.)
Best Lead Performance: Paul Giamatti & Kathryn Hahn, Private Life.
Tumblr media
Giving this to two people is a cheap trick (and one I’ve used before), but this is my blog and I make the rules. Private Life is a powerful, painfully realistic film about a middle-aged couple, played by Hahn and Giamatti, going through IVF to get pregnant. Their relationship is at the core of the film; singling out one for praise would be a disservice to the other.
A film like this could easily be a one-dimensional tragedy about baby angst, but both lead actors go through a broad range of emotions that are at once inarticulable in words but instantly recognizable. The highs and lows of their journey and the stress it puts on them and their relationship come out in every expression, every movement of their bodies. This is the highest praise you can give actors: that they portray something that can’t be portrayed any other way.
Honorable Mentions: Olivia Cooke, Thoroughbreds; Joaquin Phoenix, You Were Never Really Here; Toni Collette, Hereditary; Ryan Gosling, First Man; Viola Davis, Widows; Olivia Colman, The Favourite; Emma Stone, The Favourite; Annette Bening, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
Best Supporting Performance: Anton Yelchin, Thoroughbreds.
Tumblr media
Enough has been written about this already, but Anton Yelchin could easily have become one of the greatest actors of our time had he not died such a weird and sad death. His performance in Thoroughbreds is the perfect example of why I say that.
Yelchin plays a kind of guy that everyone knows, the wannabe operator who hangs out with, and deals drugs to, kids much younger than him and feels cool for doing so. He slips perfectly into that role, but what makes it better than just a caricature is how he captures the character in the scenes where he’s out of the element he’s chosen for himself: once after two high school girls violently rob him and once at the end after he sees what one of the girls has become. He is shaken and unsure, and letting that façade drop in real time is an impressive feat of acting.
Honorable Mentions: Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me?; Alison Pill, Vice; Oscar Isaac, Annihilation; Jason Isaacs, The Death of Stalin.
The Costner Award for Worst Actor: No Winner
Tumblr media
Before going into more detail, I’d like to point out that I didn’t see any Gerard Butler movies this year, so take this with a grain of salt.
There were a lot of god-awful movies this year. But all those movies are awful for reasons distinct from acting. Bruce Willis was boring in Death Wish, sure, but his character was boring. Tye Sheridan was annoying in Ready Player One, but his character was annoying. Travolta was actually pretty good in Gotti, even though the movie was a total disaster.
In fact, I can’t think of any performances this year that made me angry in the same way the Kevin Costner makes me angry. Congratulations to actors, I guess? If you know of a truly heinous performance, let me know.
Nicest Surprise: Aquaman
Tumblr media
Aquaman is a superhero movie about a very strong, very stupid dog in the shape of Jason Momoa (just look at his dumb face!). There is also a giant octopus who plays the drums. That’s about all you need to know about Aquaman.
Honorable mentions: Mission: Impossible – Fallout; Game Night.
Most Insulting Moment: “Street Weapon,” Robin Hood.
In Robin Hood (2018), Little John (Jamie Foxx) trains a fledgling Robin (Taron Egerton) in the art of hoodery. At the completion of this training, he says to Robin, “you’re going to need a street weapon.” Then he hands Robin this:
Tumblr media
“Patrick, is that a full-sized bow with brass knuckles tied to it?” Yes, yes it is. You know, for the streets.
Honorable Mentions: Queen Saves Live Aid, Bohemian Rhapsody; Tactical Furniture, Death Wish; Pretty much all of Ready Player One.
Winter’s Tale Memorial “What the Hell Am I Watching” Award: No Winner
Tumblr media
I almost gave this award to Gotti, a movie so widely panned that the marketing campaign explicitly told potential viewers that critics are scum. But then a friend of mine live-blogged his first viewing of The Book of Henry, the current title-holder, and I was reminded of just how gonzo bananas a movie has to be to get this award.
Sure, Gotti is an incomprehensible failure tornado that somehow had enough money for John Travolta but apparently not enough for, you know, lighting and sound guys, but it’s not bewildering like Winter’s Tale was, or like Book of Henry was. A winner should make me ask not just “what the hell is going on” and “how the hell did this get made,” but also “why the hell would anyone want to make this?”  I didn’t see anything that prompted that last question this year.
Prettiest Movie: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Tumblr media
I used to give out an award for technical filmmaking, but in hindsight, I don’t know enough about filmmaking to confidently give that award. But I am an expert on the topic of “things I find visually appealing,” and since film is a visual medium (despite what the Academy would have you believe), I’m bringing the category back in this form.
Anyway, the winner is Spider-Verse, no contest. It’s the most brilliantly animated film I’ve seen in years, and easily the best-animated CGI film ever produced. In a world drowning in endless round-and-shiny Pixar clones, Spider-Verse made something entirely unique, influenced by the styles of comic books through the ages but ultimately producing something all its own. The end sequence, with manifold universes spiraling out of a black hole and bleeding into each other, will no doubt be the most impressive feat of animation for years to come.
Honorable Mentions: Mandy; Annihilation; You Were Never Really Here.
Best Picture: Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
Tumblr media
After seeing this beautiful film, I resigned myself to the fact that it wouldn’t receive any Oscar buzz. I was more right than I realized: not only did it not get any nominations, it didn’t even qualify for consideration. The Academy considered this a Film Stars a 2017 movie, as it was released on a very limited run on December 29, 2017. I didn’t hear the name until I saw a trailer for it in January of this year, and I didn’t get to see it in my city until February. This is the great crime of Oscar season: everybody tries to put their stuff out as late as possible, and real gems like this one get crowded out by Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, a movie that gets worse every time I think about it.
I’m correcting this injustice. Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool is the only great movie of 2018. The script is heartbreaking, the acting is profoundly human, and the fluid cinematography masterfully blends past with present, creating a portrait of the last days in the life of Gloria Grahame (Annette Bening) in all her messy detail, seen from her own perspective as well as that of her former lover, the much younger Peter Turner (Jamie Bell). Where those perspective diverge is where the film is at its best, and those moments are easily the most moving of the year.
Honorable Mentions: Annihilation; The Death of Stalin; Private Life.
That’s it, that’s the whole post. Peace out.

06/26/2019 DAB Transcript
2 Kings 9:14-10:31, Acts 17:1-34, Psalms 144:1-15, Proverbs 17:27-28
Today is the 26th day of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I am Brian and its great to be here with you as we move through the center of the week, which I guess is why it's called hump day, we’re getting over the hump and moving to the back half of the week. But no matter what part of the week we’re in we’re always taking the next step forward through the Scriptures, which would take us back into the book of second Kings. We’re reading from the Contemporary English Version this week. Second Kings Chapter 9 verse 14 through 10 verse 31 today.
Commentary:
Alright. So, in the book of Acts we’re continuing along with Paul on his second missionary journey and we should note the way that Paul adapts what he's saying to who he's saying it to. So, in Thessalonica Paul’s in the synagogue, he’s opening the Scriptures and he's explaining how Jesus is a part of the Jewish story and a part of the Jewish heritage. And, so, many come to faith in Jesus and others are against him because they're envious or jealous and angry mob kicks Paul and Silas out of town. So, they go to Berea. Paul's in the synagogue again. The Berean’s are diligently searching the Scriptures. And, so, Paul's right there to interpret. Many come to faith, many get jealous. The they’re out of town again. So, then Paul’s in Athens where spirituality is very diverse but very open and he's talking about the unknown God because they worship many, many gods, including any unknown God that they may not have known about and Paul offers to them very concise, very simple explanation of how he sees the gospel. And, so, let’s look at that again. Let’s listen to what Paul says as if we’re in Athens and we don't have any of the background of the Bible, we don't know other than just sensing that there's a God out there. This is how Paul explains to a person who worships an unknown God. The thing is, we’ll all agree with it, we’re reading it out of the Bible. But consider, do you functionally believe this? Do you live as if this were the truth? So, Paul says, “I want to tell you about this God that you're worshiping that you don't know. This God made the world and everything in it. “He’s the Lord of heaven and earth, and He doesn't live in temples built by human hands. He doesn't need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people. From one person, God made all nations who live on the earth, and He decided when and where every nation would be. God has done all this so that we will look for Him and reach out and find Him. He isn’t far from any of us and He gives us the power to live to move and to be who we are. We are His children, just to some of your poets have said. And since we are God's children must not think that He's like an idle made out of gold or silver or stone. He isn't like anything that humans have thought up and made. In the past God forgave all this because people did not know what they were doing but now He says that everyone everywhere must turn to Him. He has set a day when He will judge the world's people with fairness and He has chosen the man Jesus to do the judging for Him. God has given proof of this to all of us by raising Jesus from death.” So, there you go. We should find great comfort in that, great encouragement in that, but also put ourselves in the position of somebody who's never heard this before so that we understand the kinds of people that Paul is trying to reach and we should also notice that Paul adapts the way that he interacts with people based on who it is that he's trying to talk to, which doesn't mean he is trying to change his message, it means he's trying to enter a person's story from where they're coming from instead of trying to force-feed where he's coming from. A pretty invaluable lesson for us in this day and age.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for this simple concise truth of the gospel from the apostle Paul here in the book of Acts. It reminds us of the fact that we are Your children. We also acknowledge the fact that we don't know all that we think that we do and a posture of humility in entering into each other's stories is the way of Your kingdom. Come Holy Spirit we pray. And we ask in Jesus’ name expectantly as we surrender, as we allow You to have space and access to our hearts and our day and our actions. Come Holy Spirit we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is the website, its home base, it's where you find out what's going on around here, and there's stuff going on around here.
Coming up in less than two weeks, the 7th of July, is our annual Daily Audio Bible long walk. It's happening on a Sunday this year so it kind of makes it easier. And we do this every July 7th. It's a day to give ourselves permission to say, “look, “I'm in the middle of the year, I have journeyed halfway through this year and come to this point with the rhythm of the Scriptures being in my life.” And by now we can see what the Bible does as we put it in our lives every day. So, it’s a day to regroup and go for a long walk with the God of the Bible who is revealing himself to us through the Scriptures. Yeah, just to spend the day saying all of the things that there just aren't time to say. Like we’re just too overcommitted, too out of balance, we’re running too hard. So, we take this one day and go for a long walk, go somewhere beautiful whether near or far and go for a long walk and we can say everything that needs to be said and to allow space because the Lord has some things He's been wanting but we’re just too busy to listen. So, what if we took a day and gave it to listening and just spending time with God and appreciating that life is happening all around us and we’re ignoring it. That's the 7th of July and yeah, it’s a very individual thing, but it's also a very communal thing that we’re doing as a community all over the world. And you just take your phone. You probably have your phone or something with you anyway. Snap a picture of wherever it is you go or take a little video of wherever it is you go and post it up to our Facebook page, facebook.com/dailyaudiobible and then we’ll post them up and they become these beautiful little moments that we get to share with each other, little windows into each other's lives and where it is that we are on the planet and where it is that's beautiful where we are and we get this wonderful picture of God's beauty all over the world on one day. So, make plans for that the 7th of July.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible as we navigate the summer months, then thank you profoundly for your partnership. There's a link on the homepage at dailyaudiobible.com. If you’re using the app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or, if you prefer, the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, 877-942-4253, is the number to dial.
And that is it for today. I'm Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hello, this is Christy in Korea. I am a first-time caller and I have been listening since January, but I am quite a way’s behind. I’m actually 10 weeks behind when you were at the More conference because on that Saturday I was giving birth to my first child. So, I just wanted to share that God is really awesome and I know there’s a lot of women and men out there struggling with infertility. And my husband and I were able to get fertility treatment and now we have a beautiful healthy boy after a loss last year and God…God is amazing, and I know he has a made a promise and I just wanted to__. Also, I heard there was another listening from Korea. You’re not alone. There’s another listener here and I just want to say hi. And I try to pray…I don’t pray for everyone, but I do pray for some people and I want you to know that I can’t remember who you are that I do try to pray for you and that you are being prayed for across the world. And, please pray for my husband because he is kind…I don’t know…agnostic and I see God making movements and I would just like to see him making more movements and thank you for everything you do, and I will try to catch up. Thank you.
Hey family this is Viola from Maryland I hope you’re all doing well. Brian and Jill God bless you. Family I want to encourage you to give to Daily Audio Bible. As Brian always says, this is the summer months and things always slow down during the summer months. So, give and God will bless you. Okay. Doug from Alabama, I’m praying for healing for you brother in the name of Jesus. The word of God says in Philippians 4:6 that you shall not be __ for anything but in everything that prayer and supplication make your request known to God. And, so, pray brother. As people pray for you also pray. And I pray that the peace of God who passes all understanding will flood your heart and mind and God will give you wisdom on how to take care of the __ situation. God bless you my brother. __ from New Zealand I’m praying for little baby willow. Oh, my goodness. God’s such a powerful God. I pray that God will touch this baby and heal her body. You will call back with great testimonies in the name of Jesus. Father Lord of heaven, I pray that you will arrive with healing in your wings over little Willow in the name of Jesus. __ I’m praying for favor for your brother-in-law, that you will get that wisdom. You know, God has a heart for families. I pray that Give her favor and she’ll be reconciled, she’ll be able to be with your son  __ Tyler in the name of Jesus. Rob from Canada, I am praying for Jimmy your son. I know how disheartening that can be. Lord of heaven, I pray that you will touch Jamie oh God, Father you that made the __ go away in the first place, I pray that that __ will be thing of the past in the name of Jesus, that every __ body will die in the name of Jesus because it’s…the word of God says that by the stripes of God, that by the stipes of Jesus Christ Jamie has been healed. I’m praying for you __ my sister. I pray that God will flood your business with clients in the name of Jesus. And lastly, Ben from London, I’m praying for your daughter and fellow kids, that they would do well in their __. God bless you….
Hi, DABbers this is Christchurch New Zealand calling. I really need your prayers for my brother. He is a good man but in a failed relationship with an erratic woman who has turned his two daughters against him. This has been going on for 16 years but severe in the last two and I feel that’s gonna break him. He’s strong, fit, hard-working, self-employed and continually gives to their demands to the point of them living or often going without. He wants to see his girls. There’s always a reason why he can’t. Even if he makes a date they find a reason to go out and so he doesn’t see them. He thinks about walking away but is not in him. I actually don’t know how he can still go on because it doesn’t of the Lord. So, I’m asking my DABbers if they can break every curse of his life and pray for the peace of the mind…of his mind and from the pressure that he gets in the demands of him continuing having to find work. He needs a lot of money to find each week to support the family and that there’ll be a breakthrough for his family somehow, that they’ll just be kind to him, they’d be easier on him. He’s positive and he’s always for them. So, would you pray with me please. Thank you.
Hey, God bless. This is Matthew Fouts. I’m calling from Interstate 10 in Mobile Alabama. May God bless you from the South all over the world. The Lord has a word, His word is truth and His word tells us that we must look past our present problems to see the face of Jesus. You must set aside the problems that You face every day and look for the face of Jesus. Jesus is greater than our problem. Jesus is the Lord, He is high and lifted up and we’re all facing something today, we’re all facing a giant, we’re all facing challenges. His word says to rejoice. So, we rejoice through the trials, we rejoice through the tribulations and we say that Jesus is Lord. We yield to the Father, we yield to the voice of the Father and we say, “Father, here we are. Onwards AU- Tribe hcs
I’ve started a trend of picking up THM headcanons because they’re nON EXISTENT lmao
or at least from what I hear
This round is for the Onwards AU (post-THM au), with the Tribe of Three being roughly 18-21 here
((I’ll also include William and Kaznim because they’re dear to my heart))
-Ferdie eventually starts going through a small internship on a fashion shop, carrying cloth and measuring people
-Then she starts rising through the ranks, gaining fame for her embroidery on cloth
-And then she likes it
-OH GOD SHE LIKES IT
-She ends up getting an apprenticeship and is soon to buy the business from the current owner, who wants to retire to an Iberian beach already
-She’s a ruthless businesswoman and always ends up with the most ridiculous business deals which work out in her favor,,,somehow
-Ferdie is also the one who makes Tod’s graduation dress, her current work tunic also (Sep also asks to get his tunic made)
-William, when he’s off-time, is still very close and very dear to Ferd and he helps out in the shop
-They still play the string game in StarChaser with all the juiciest gossip
-It’ s not like Ferdie WANTS all the gossip and has an amount of secrets rivaling Sally Mullin’s,,, it’ s a fashion shop. It just happens
-Oskar is still working with Ephaniah as a mechanic, with some medical exp too since Ephaniah has been decreasing of health lately- not enough to be fatal, he’s just getting older
-He subs in as a scribe and is always sneaking Tod in and out of the Ancient Ways or getting to talk to her a little more
-Hairdresser: Ms. Todhunter Moon, what would you like me to help you with?
Tod, deadass serious: an elflock
the SH fandom: nO!!!
Tod: TWO elflocks
-She has them as braids that go around the back of her head- with a blue bead at the start of each braid
-William takes after his pseudo-cousin AND his uncle Nicko and does sailor beads in his hair. Reactions are, being optimistic, mixed
-Ferd leaves her hair long, Oskar ties his up in a ponytail (and maybe a small elflock every once in a while because Tod makes him), and Tod grows her hair out, starting when she was roughly 16
-It’s the first time she grows her hair after her mom’s death
-Kaznim works as the Red City assistant, guiding Septimus around, and is also taking up her mother’s trade
-At some point, most likely directly after StarChaser, Kaznim and Tod realize they’re related! They have some talk after that
-In fact, Kaznim takes her to the Draa campsite when Tod begins traveling for Castle alliances, and it becomes her temporary home for around 3 months.
-Kaznim is still kind of distant to Dandra, eventually gets over it
-Kaznim: TOD!! BAREV!
Tod: Ba-what-now
-Kaznim has to teach Tod Armenian (since it’s implied the Draas come from an area near Armenia or in Armenia proper). Kaznim suffers.
-William has a keen interest, apart from Magyk, in Alchemie. Marcellus is really fond of him and is more than willing to teach him some
-Simon also teaches him some!
-I haven’t tackled it but yes I headcanon William to get an apprenticeship in the wizard tower! Takes after uncle Sep a lot
-Tod leaves a month after her graduation to start the founding of Castle alliances around the world and comes back roughly a year later, in her late nineteens- early 20s
-The sudden separation left a lot of unsolved conflict and tension between Oskar and Tod- and her sudden return makes things between them even more cold and awkward. Ferd spends an uncomfortable 8 months playing messenger and trying to get them to settle down and get things straightened out
-William outcooks his mom, his dad, and his uncle Sep and those are just facts
-Ferdie suddenly starts getting pearl jewelry in her mail starting in her 20s and no one knows where it came from- she never finds out who it’s actually from
-Barney Pot, being some 14 years old when THM starts, also hangs out with Tribe occasionally, with some slight flirting on the side ((s’all for fun though))
-Flirting to whom? All three of course
-Oskar does get that Orm automata done for his graduation project!! It works  and the angriest he’s ever gotten at the Ormlet is when it tried to eat his creation of some 6-months
-He’s also fluent in Sign Language, English and Greek- Ephaniah’s ancestor language. You could argue he’s considerably worse at Greek though.
-Lucy often gives Ferdie ribbons in exchange for embroidery lessons.
-The transition from being teacher-apprentice to coworkers is weird for Tod and Sep, as well as for Osk and Ephaniah
-Ferdie: Tod,,,what are feelings,,,im,,,,girls,,,what is love,,,
Tod, local demisexual:,,,,,baby don’t hurt me?? no more???
-I do hc Ferdie as panro! She’s very confused throughout her teens rip
-Ferdie also takes after Lucy and puts ribbons in her hair, and ribbons  and flowers in her spring hats. It becomes a running trend, much favored by the Good Queen herself
-The Tribe and Will go ice skating in the winter- all three are complete messes and William has to teach these grown ass adults to balance themselves
-Ferd and Oskar stay in the Heap-Gringe household when they’re in the Castle, and are raised in Alchemie and some basic Magyk. Tod’s happily impressed
-Oskar’s walked out with his magnifying glasses and caused local panic because bUG MAN
-They still take naps together because tHEYRE DORKS (tired dorks), sleepovers are less rare but involve a lot of salt on coworkers. The Tribe also ocassionally goes on ice cream parlor outings in the summer
-After her growing paranoia in the Red City, Tod has a sword made in the Draa camp, naming it Hamasteghut’yun ((Amernian for constellation)). She has an UnSeen on it and practices in private.
-After declining her mother’s offer of her own blade, Kaznim also gets a throwing knife crafted, called Halatsum (persecution)
-Kaznim has an,,interesting adolescence w her family (( that’s another post tho))
-Ferdie is the only one to not have a graduation party ((Tod has her own and Oskar has the Manuscriptorium annual)) so the Heaps throw her this huge ass party when she’s 21 to compensate.
-Tod wears heeled boots to be more intimidating and it KIND OF works,,, Ferdie, on the other hand, can stare down any man at her small height and send them running
-Official heights:
Osk: 5′11″
Will: 6′0″
Kaznim: 5′7″
Tod: 5′2″
Ferdie: 4′11″
-Tod has unexpected encounters with a certain Syrah Syara, who’s personality she’s drawn to. Sep has a very hard time talking to her about Syrah.
-Tod’s dyed honey-blond strands come from her visit to what would then be called France, given to her by the people before an international ball. She sticks with it for much of her life.
-Oskar’s fascination with the Dragon Boat guides him to hang out with Jenna more- who always wanted a younger brother. A nice friendship forms, although he’s still terrified of her, as one rightly should.
-Oskar picks up ukulele and guitar, Ferdie picks up viola and flute. Tod’s good with hand drums and singing, Kaznim with cymbals and Armenian percussion, and Will likes violin and xylophones
-The Sarn twins rent out an apartment when they’re grown in the Castle
-the neon glow-in-the-dark sunglasses was Oskar’s idea. They also have two sets of roller blades and the raddest scooters
-Will owns his own roller blades
-William grows to be the affection of everyone with his uncle’s charisma, his father’s kindness, and his badassery at lacrosse
-Famous/Iconic jewelry:
-Osk: leather bracelet from the draa camp, silver ring with a melting pair of wings (his first attempt at crafting jewelry), multi-purpose bracelet (think an army knife but,,not), cord necklace with painted glass beads and his golden universal Manuscriptorium key. Onyx earring mayb?
-Ferdie: Amethyst-and-silk bracelet ((shared with Tod)), all that pearl jewelry from before changed out into rotations, platinum ring Simon, William, and Lucy gave her, Leather twin chokers with a variety of charms, from a small crochet man to an elegant ruby set
-Tod: her iconic snake ring, ‘Find a way’ ring that she shares with Sep, Amethyst bracelet, leather bracelet from the draa camp, Gold-and-labradorite earrings, star necklace with draa beads as well
-The tribe sneaked out together in their late teens to walk around and admire the night lights. Cats always seem to be accompanying them- it’s a mystery
-All three have middle names: Ferdie’s is Lilliann, Oskar’s Liam, and Tod’s is Diana ((although her Draa family insisted Cassi always wanted a daughter named Seraldi)) They use each other’s middle name when they’re mad pissed
-Tod and Kaznim have two last names- the first from their mother, the second from their father.
-William is by far the most enthusiastic apprentice ever- he’s the happiest cleaning out the pyramid library.
-Out of the entire tribe, Ferdie is the most apt at self-defense, armed and unarmed.
-She’s also real buff she’s bench-pressed Oskar once or twice- and the guy built muscle from carrying heavy items
-In their actual vacation, back in the pathfinder village, they always set Vega out to the Path, tie the boat to one of the white markers and quietly talk until late midnight- pointing out constellations, conversing of the past , and falling asleep until the next day, bright at dawn. Dan and Rosie receive a lot of fish from sleepy, early-morning fishing from all three adults involved.
Expect more I have over three pages and I’m so ready

You know I’ve made posts like this before, but I decided to go all out for this one. Here are reasons I love the DCEU.
1. Zack Synder: this man... this man has the most beautiful cinematography I have ever seen. He can make you go back and look at a movie over and over again and still not notice all the little details he has thrown in. He loves Superman and the DC guys. DCEU is about Superman... and how cool is that? Not to mention is absolute love and care for women and women characters. He’s just a god damn badass.
2. Patty Jenkins: I love her. I love her for giving me Wonder Woman. I love her for giving me a superhero I can look up to. She made this movie for young me and for young girls everywhere. I cannot even begin to express how much I love Patty.
3. Henry Cavill: let me just begin this with: DAMN THAT BOI IS FINE. Looks aside, you can tell how much HC loves Superman. He cares about his build, he cares about the comics, he goes and supports the other movies like Suicide Squad, his dog is named Kal! Now he’s not always the best actor, but he brings depth and love to Superman in a way previous incarnations have not had.
3. Ben Affleck: I’ve never really been a big fan of Affleck but seeing him bring a new, darker side to Batman has given me life. I loved this version of him, and I am so delighted to see him learn from his mistakes and realize that Superman does mean hope. And it’s because of Superman that the Justice League even truly begins. And Ben makes you believe that he hated Clark and that he learned the truth.
4. Gal Gadot: I love her with every fiber in my being. I had my reservations about her playing Wonder Woman mainly because I’d never heard of her, but seeing her on screen in BVS... I literally held onto my friend’s hand the entire damn time she was on screen. And her song brings me to my knees. She’s just... everything I could have hoped for.
5. Amy Adams: Lois Lane I think defines the DCEU. She is wait brings light onto Clark and Superman. She is what he believes in, and she’s a BAMF in her own right. She’s not some throw away love interest.
6. Jason Momoa: I’ve loved him for a long time. I think he’s funny and a great actor and to see a Native Hawaiian play a stereotypical white, blonde, blue-eyed character is beautiful. I’ve loved what I’ve seen in the JL trailers, and just can’t wait to see him on the big screen in JL and his own movie.
7. Ezra Miller: the man really became a favorite of mine when I saw Perks of Being a Wallflower. In an otherwise lackluster film, he shone. And I loved him. He embodies the Flash. I think he has this crazy ability to play a funny character that is also trying to come to terms with his meta-human reality. And I love it. Plus, from the JL trailers, he’s got some great damn lines.
8. Ray Fisher: Cyborg has always been one of my favorite characters. Since I’ve been invested in the DCU, I have loved him. He was my favorite Teen Titan, and I am so glad he is in this JL. I think Ray brings the charismatic and youthfulness that Cyborg is, and I hope he gets a solo.
9. Viola Davis: Amanda Waller is without a doubt one of the scariest characters I have ever seen on film, and to have the BAMF Viola Davis play her? It was like witnessing god. She made me afraid of Waller. She made me think that she would do anything to stop a threat.
10. Will Smith: Will has been my man since Fresh Prince, okay? The fact that he is playing one of my favorite villains is just icing on the damn cake. And he was brilliant as Deadshot. I think he gave us what we needed and still showed his fatherly side.
11. Margot Robbie: She is Harley. She is. And the fact that she is bringing in writers to give us Bombshells just makes me so fucking happy. Margot was great in the movie minus a couple of stupid lines, but I want to see more.
12. Karen Fukahara: KATANA MY LOVE! Give me more. I love that Karen gave so much depth to a character that we really only vaguely knew. I think it was brilliant, and I expect to see more of her.
13. Jay Hernandez: From the moment Friday Night Lights (the movie) came out, this man had my heart. El Diablo is one of the most complex characters I have ever read, and I think Jay gave him the depth that this character needed.
Okay, I could continue forever on just the characters but I digress.
14. The diversity: I have always found I connected better with movies that had diverse casts, not because I am a POC but because in the real world, all I see is diversity. Most of my friends are POC and when movies don’t even have background POC characters, I find it disturbing. The fact that the DCEU gives us diversity, even though it’s still about half and half is delightful. I expect more from them.
15. The creativity: They are doing what MCU is not. They are not giving us the same movie over and over. MOS was unlike any other Superman Origin, BVS gave us powerhouse characters and a start to JL that wasn’t just origin movies or an agency bringing them together. WW was a little more formulaic but it also was the first female led superhero film. SS was unique and JL will be unlike anything we have seen.
16. Different stories: I literally just touched on this, but none of the films feel the same. When I watch some other superhero movies, I sometimes have to remind myself who the titular character is. When I watch DCEU, I know who it is.
17. Memorable villains: This is one of the most important things to me in movies. If I can’t remember your villain, I can barely remember your movie. The movies I love the most are because of their villain. And other than Ultron and Loki, I can’t name a villain from the MCU. But I definitely remember the DCEU villains. They are memorable.
18. The heroes are held accountable: We see this the most in BVS and it’s touched on in SS. Superman is asked to be held accountable for the deaths in MOS. He knows how many lives were lost or ruined and then throughout the movie it is shown how he tries over and over to do better. The same cannot be said for another franchise.
19. Superman is the key: I mentioned this with Henry and Zack but Superman is what holds the whole DCEU together. He was the first, the origin. He was what brought Batman in and what got Wonder Woman to come back. He is what made Bruce form the League. He is the center. And I like seeing that.
20. Zack Synder: Did I mention him before? He is amazing as a director. Every film of his I have watched, I have enjoyed. Not just because of his wonderful cinematography, but I feel like he knows how to tell a story. And I think he’s ahead of his time. Their cult classics; they always will be. And I cannot thank him enough for giving me this universe with my favorite characters.

Americas True Blessing of Flexibility & Hope
Where is your family from as well as why did they pertain to America?
Have you ever before checked out the communist countries of China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea, Laos, or Vietnam?
I've had the honor of taking a trip to lots of parts of the world, and also fell in love with the people of almost every nation. My heart made those that were incapable to appreciate the freedoms of choice and also self direction that Americans take for given daily.
What do you provide for a living? Whether you are a medical professional, instructor, mechanic, IT individual, or full-time parent; I would envision you picked that path for your life since you appreciated specific facets of that work, as well as you are able to be made up for it.
What if you had no say towards your life, as well as your future was only dictated to you by the federal government?
I can not think of a faster way to snuff out the trigger of life in one's eyes than completely eliminating their own agency from their lives. Unfortunately, that is what occurs in communist/socialist nations America Politics.
Do you intend to relocate there permanently and also quit your American liberties as well as chances?
Do you want to make America into one more China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea, Laos, or Vietnam?
Your prospect for President in America need to have 2 goals:
 1) Dedication to growing the security as well as strength of their nation.
 2) The candidate needs to devote to protect as well as defend their residents' rights.
Why do individuals leave a country?
 - Worry of safety on their own and their family members from violence.
 - Concern of oppression for their beliefs.
 - Remarkable destitution and also no opportunities for altering it.
 - Federal government corruption and overreach that stifles individual options as well as development and pressures consistency.
Are you and your family aiming to import where they originated from to America?
What are the distinctions in between their house country and America?
Your candidate for President in America should have 2 goals?
 1) Be devoted to expanding the security as well as strength of their nation.
 2) The candidate ought to commit to protect and safeguard their citizens' civil liberties.
Obtain the facts, believe meticulously prior to you act as well as choose President of the United States on Nov. 3, 2020!
I have actually delighted in visiting, mentor, and also executing on my violin and also viola throughout the globe. This includes communist countries. I have actually always enjoyed as well as thrilled ahead back home to America and also our lots of blessings and liberties! It is a true eye opener to see exactly how lucky we remain in America.
We have numerous opportunities right here to start a company, select the job we would love to do, to own residential or commercial property, pray as we pick, protect our legal rights to cost-free speech, shield ourselves and also our home and also residential property, the right to think and also share our ideas with others.
We have excellent sanitation, plumbing, drinkable running water, electrical power with washrooms that function which allow you to wash your hands with soap and also water to keep germs as well as health issues from going through whole cities America National politics.
After going to these international areas, I was always so happy for the true blessings and also liberties of living and operating in America.
" In Communism the government possesses all home and pays its residents equally. Citizens possess absolutely nothing. The government picks your job and informs you what to do. They own you! There is no free will!"
Communism/Socialism is regularly thought of in academic as well as media circles as an "every little thing is totally free since it is a right". There is no freedom when you depend upon the government to determine what you are entitled to.
The American Change has actually stood the test of time because we are advised that our liberties come from God, not man.
Communism eliminates all your legal rights, your home, your possibilities, your choices, and also your flexibilities. This includes thinking, worship, association.
Birds Eye Sight on Communism in Russia:
The movie, Moscow on the Hudson" (1984) was written as well as routed by Paul Mazursky as well as starred Robin Williams, as Vladimir Ivanoff, a saxophonist with the Moscow Circus that is carrying out and also going to in New york city City. He chooses to defect while buying at Bloomingdale's in New york city City. Supervisor Mazursky stated the idea for the movie came from his own grandpa emigrating to the USA from Russia.
He claims, "Most Russians, are just trying to survive. Yet, all Russians who leave their country, leave behind something they treasure and love. It's a horrible problem for them, so the act of valor is overwhelming."
The movie opens with Vladimir in Russia living "in a congested apartment or condo with his extended family." Then "he stands in line for hours to purchase bathroom tissue and also shoes." It takes so long to buy the bathroom tissue and footwear that he's late to wedding rehearsal. Boris, the communist party participant, KGB,
" slams Vladimir for being late to practice session and also suggests Vladimir might miss the coming close to journey to the USA.". Vladimir immediately hands over to Boris, the shoes from the shop that made him late. After practice session Vladimir goes with his friend to buy gasoline for his vehicle from a "black market dealership."
After Vladimir issues he has numerous American people who have actually instantly agreed to help him. They offer him a location to stick with their family members, help him in finding work, and also a recent American person from Cuba who his legal representative.
Blessings of America: America is not excellent, yet it is our last sign of hope!
America was improved Judeo/Christian worths, law and order, nonpartisanship, capitalism, entrepreneurship, and free markets. America is a land of chances. Our USA Constitution secures our flexibilities. The framers of our Constitution were wise enough to realize that our unalienable civil liberties did not originate from federal government or male; they originated from God. They were likewise wise adequate to produce the Constitution and Expense of Rights to be exclusionary (describing what Government can refrain, as opposed to all things it could do).
The very flexibilities that the majority of us consider provided like the quest of life, freedom, and the quest of happiness, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of journalism, flexibility of setting up, and also freedom to request the federal government to appropriate wrongs are what make this country great. It is likewise why this excellent country of ours is a magnet for people from around the globe that answer the "battle-cry of their hearts to be free by looking for citizenship."
Your candidate for Head of state in America should have 2 purposes?
 1) Commitment to expanding the stability and toughness of their nation.
 2) The candidate should commit to protect as well as defend their people' rights.
 What is Kristallnacht?
Kristallnacht, (also called the Evening of Broken Glass). On November 9-10, 1938, Pogroms, fierce riots, (strikes, looting, arson, mass apprehensions, and fatality) were performed versus the Jews by SA paramilitary pressures (storm troopers) and civilians throughout Nazi Germany, Austria, the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, Slovak, Bohemia, Poland, as well as Moravia. These rioters destroyed, attacked, looted, and demolished Jewish organizations, houses, schools, medical facilities, as well as Synagogues with sledgehammers. After the strikes smashed glass was left on the streets.
" British chronicler Martin Gilbert wrote that no occasion in the history of German Jews between 1933 and also 1945 was so extensively reported as it was occurring, and also the accounts from international journalists working in Germany sent shockwaves all over the world."
The Times of London observed on November 11,1938: "No foreign propagandist bent upon smudging Germany before the globe can outshine the tale of burnings and also poundings, of blackguardly attacks on defenseless as well as innocent individuals, which disgraced that nation the other day."
Communism is total federal government control. Breaking down of order, robbery destruction, arson, death. Pogroms, Kristallnacht, eradicating statues (removing history), inculcating the young, (brain washing), no responsibility, versus independent reasoning, versus self-sufficiency, against household worths, against religious beliefs, against human spirit. Tramples on constitution. Takes all your civil liberties and liberties away America National politics.
 Where is my family from?
My household is from Russia and also Hungary where there were no rights, no choices, no opportunities, no free speech, no right to a reasonable trial. You did what the government officials informed them to do. There was no freedom of speech. No owning of property. There was no selection in anything. The government decided what your career would be. When you suggested to attempt and secure yourself, they would certainly toss you behind bars as well as eliminate you.
America is the only location you can go from cloths to treasures. In other nations if you were birthed poor you remain this way permanently. Mark J. Quann, writer, said in 2017, "Immigrants Are Four Times Most Likely to Become Millionaires in America."
The number of immigrants get here in the United States each year? "More than 1 million immigrants arrive in the U.S. annually. In 2017, the top native land for brand-new immigrants coming into the U.S. was India, with 126,000 individuals, complied with by Mexico (124,000), China (121,000) and Cuba (41,000)." https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/06/17/key-findings-about-u-s-immigrants/
Ages 18 or Older: What happens if what you are being told is Not 100% true? Do you examine what you are informed as well as look for to examine the fact? Do you enlighten on your own? Are you answerable for your activities? What is your objective or desire?
Just in America will certainly you be provided the chance to pick your dream and also help it!
Rebecca Walser, skilled writer of "Wealth Unbroken", says, In America "you are empowered to take control of your life, your destiny, and that is something billions of people do not have."
Communist China in 2016 had a population of 1.4 billion. "Their people had just an ordinary per capita disposable revenue of $3,469 in 2016." Contrast this "to 320 million Americans who had $43,536 per head disposable yearly earnings that exact same year." (Walser, Wide Range Unbroken).
Your candidate for President in America should have 2 purposes?
 1) Be committed to growing the stability and also stamina of their nation.
 2) The candidate needs to devote to shield and defend their residents' rights.
Why have many countless individuals involve America? America is Not Perfect, but it has opportunities and also impressive possibilities that communism does not have!!!!!
These immigrants from Russia, China, Laos, and also other countries who have come to be residents of America are "Not asking" to go back to the countries they have gotten away from!
These 5 plus months of the pandemic and also being homebound has brought stress and also anxiousness to America with civil discontent, rioting, robbery, and also murder. This is a tip of pogroms in Russia and also Kristallnacht, (Evening of Broken Glass) in Nazi Germany, Austria, the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, Slovak, Bohemia, Poland, as well as Moravia America Politics.
Believe and also obtain the true truths, before you elect Head of state of the USA on Nov 3, 2020!
Your prospect for President in America should have 2 purposes?
 1) Be dedicated to expanding the stability and stamina of their country.
 2) The prospect needs to commit to secure and defend their citizens' legal rights.
Remember what President Ronald Reagan stated, "Liberty is never ever greater than one generation far from extinction ... It should be defended, safeguarded, as well as handed on for them to do the exact same.".
Assume and get real truths prior to you vote on Nov. 3, 2020.
Do you want to maintain your civil liberties and also benefits in America or provide up?
 History of American Voting Rights.
One of the remarkable points regarding staying in the United States of America is that we do not undergo half as many battles to vote as recently autonomous nations. Although now it may seem that ballot is nearly considered given, the background of American voting legal rights is not so quite. This article will take a look at the development of the American ballot civil liberties from the birth of the country until now.
Initially of American background, just white men over the age of 21 might join the vote. Additionally, the president as well as vice president were elected separately, and senators were not straight elected at all. Remember the selecting university's vote in regards to the presidency, too. Nevertheless, there were a number of adjustments that took place throughout our history to put the elections extra in the hands of the people-all individuals.
After the Civil War finished, the recently reunited nation passed numerous amendments allowing the newly launched slaves much more legal rights than ever, allegedly equivalent with those of white people. Initially, the 13th Amendment abolished slavery, along with required thrall, and also continues to prohibit these practices. Second, the 14th Change made slaves and also their descendents full residents of the United States, and gave them the very same rights as every various other citizen in America. Finally, the 15th Amendment prohibited voter discrimination based upon race, color, and also heritage. Together, these were referred to as the Repair Modifications.
You may have noticed that although people can not legally protect against others from electing based upon color, there was absolutely nothing included concerning sex. Even after African-American males obtained the right to vote, ladies of both shades were unable to do so. Lastly, in 1920, the 19th Amendment gave women suffrage. This sought straight political election of senators was offered to the people (17th Change, 1913) America Politics.
The Vietnam Battle was a time of great civil unrest. First, the 26th Amendment reduced the ballot age to 18 because 18-year-olds were being dispatched to battle without even obtaining the chance to choose their leader. This took place in 1971. Previously, yet additionally during the long period of time of the Vietnam War, the little ways people impaired African-Americans from voting involved nationwide interest.
Individuals disenfranchised black voters by setting up survey tax obligations, literacy examinations, and grandfather clauses. Due to the fact that these were unreasonable and borderline prohibited, individuals rebelled against these techniques, which cause Head of state Lyndon Johnson signing the National Voting Rights Act of 1965. This act made the discrimination versus black voters totally unlawful.
 An Elect Capitalism Or Corporatism.
A home window of chance will remain in the political election of 2011. This home window will certainly permit you to cast your vote, for or against corporate America. While I must admit, that the corporate impact is healthy on both sides of the island, it is dominate to one side. You absolutely do not require me to tell you which side has actually dropped totally in bed with the opponent of capitalism.
You just need to discover, who is attempting to encourage corporate tax evasion, corporate authority, in taking apart lengthy established labor regulations and also who looks for to alter our privileges (social protection, Medicare) into independently run firms that's intention would certainly be to generate income, as opposed to assist those that require assistance. While they are pushing currently, more challenging than they ever before have, they are still unwavering in not allowing the rich to pay at the very least as much taxes as the middle class.
Big corporations pay much less than 15 percent in tax obligations, some really pay none. Some pay no tax obligations and receive totally free cash from the government in addition to that; called subsidies. Warren Buffet (Billionaire) remarks that his personal assistant pays a greater tax rate than he himself does. The millionaire tax bracket is technically 35 percent currently, after the George Bush tax cuts; yet they hardly ever pay this price as they use resources gains technique to submit, as well as this tax obligation bracket is around 15 percent. Considering that President Obama's election, there has actually been a fight to raise the millionaire bracket from 35 percent to the original 39 percent. This was the keystone with the brand-new republican tea party; that they were considered to of held congress captive over not permitting that 4 percent boost. Rather, they pushed extremely tough to make huge cuts, every one of which will come straight out of the pockets of the bad and middle courses.
The Shrub tax cuts took 2.5 trillion bucks out of the US economic climate over ten years. 2 battles one more 2 trillion bucks. The Shrub deregulation of economic laws, allowed greedy banks and also their Chief Executive Officer's to control poor mortgage, which resulted in the financial accident of 2008, that we are still struggling with. All the above, were activities produced by corporate power and also influence via our government, completely as much as the workdesk of the presidency its self. All of this pain to our economy was developed by millionaires, billionaires as well as powerful companies.
With the recent financial debt ceiling situation, we currently discover that it is NOT corporate America who will pay for these outrageous actions, however those that were the victims to begin with; the center class. Corporate wealth has raised 10 layer in ten years, while the middle course has been scaled down with boosting healthcare bills, as well as flat wages. Business America has 2.5 trillion dollars saved up and concealed here in the United States. The economical collapse of 2008 educated them just how to run their companies with much less individuals, raising their revenues, and maintaining unemployment very high. Business America is approximated to have 2 trillion bucks hid in off shore accounts to prevent the little taxes they do pay. This cash, will certainly never flow down to the middle class - not in a million years. In addition, one tenth of one percent of the worlds population owns 55 percent of the globes wide range America National politics.
In these times, its extremely important to not perplex conventional politics with company syndicates in this one respect. Traditional individuals have a legitimate disposition as do liberals. Each party is simply a preferred method of developing the federal government. Actually, all countries worldwide have these two possibilities that are maintained in equilibrium.
Yet the sad thing below is that conservatives have actually had their celebration infiltrated by big business money as well as control; drawing the creature strings of congress, pestering state legislatures with pro business costs. The traditional experts (people that speak about national politics) are paid, as well as paid well by these company teams which have actually invaded the traditional event as a hook worm lives underneath the skin. The firms have glided in under the radar with conservatists, by hiding under the umbrella of conservative concepts, however actually they have actually currently overtaken the conservative activity; as well as to the traditionalists hinderance they have really been educated to protect the same oppressor via the bombardment of the media statements the pundits are paid to project.
A Democratic, Market Issue That Brings completion of America As Forecast by Daniel the Prophet.
Alexander Tyler, a Scottish background professor at the College of Edinburgh, reflected on the autumn of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior. He is credited with saying that a freedom is always short-term till citizens discover that they can vote themselves charitable presents from the general public treasury. From that minute on, the bulk constantly chooses the prospects that guarantee the most gain from the general public treasury, with the result that every freedom will lastly collapse over loose fiscal plan, (which is) constantly complied with by a tyranny.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has actually been about 200 years throughout during which we see this series: "From bondage to spiritual belief; From spiritual faith to wonderful guts; From courage to freedom; From freedom to abundance; From wealth to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to reliance; From dependence back right into bondage." America's Obituary: Born 1776, Passed away 2012.
America, founded as a republic, is currently a freedom where the bulk ballot money for themselves in well-being programs. Demographics are an upcoming issue with amnesty of prohibited aliens, as recommended by Daniel's prophetic book.
Professor Olson includes: "In accumulation, the map of the territory Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying residents of the country.
Obama region mainly incorporated those citizens living in low revenue tenements and also living off numerous kinds of federal government welfare ..." Almost half of the United States remains in the "governmental dependency" phase. If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal intruders called illegals, we can say goodbye to the USA.
Does the Scriptures have any kind of light on this subject? When inquired about the end of the world, Christ said to understand guide of Daniel. Matthew 24:3,15. "During completion" the king of the north "overflows" the king of the south, Daniel 11:40. Who is the king of the north? The Bible is its own expositor-it interprets itself ...
In Ezekiel 26:7, the king of the north is the king of Babylon, however we also see that in the end-time, this is not concerning a city in Iraq, but regarding baffled systems of federal government, health and wellness, eduction, well-being as well as religion (Babylon).
Babylon is redefined in Rev 17:5 where we see images of a church riding the monster of New World Order. The lady (church) is involved with national politics, It's a rich church clothed with gold and also the color of scarlet, being in a city of seven hills, as well as drunken with the blood of saints-historically a maltreating church.
So exactly how does Babylon "overflow" the king of the south? With countless illegal immigrants overruning our southerly boundary having their key allegiance to the pope, it's no mystery just how the king of the north will certainly win in a freedom in which millions vote as told.
A close friend asked a Mexican couple that he satisfied in Montana why they relocate there. They responded, The priest told us to move below.
The pope states he has no problem with a Marxist label, (Google it) but he would certainly not agree with Marx that faith is "the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the imaginary joy of individuals is needed for their real happiness.".
Yet maybe Marx is right when it comes to Catholicism. Many assume they can live as they please through the week, yet reach paradise by paying the clergyman on Sunday.
The pope intends to see a redistribution of riches. Why not confess the clergyman can not forgive wrongs (Mark 2:7) and return the cash to the inadequate that, sometimes, offered the priest their last cow to get papa out of purgatory (a word not found in the Bible).
Unlike every various other country south of our border, America was established by Protestants taking the chance of stormy seas, bitter wintertimes as well as malnourishment to leave the Vintage Order injustice tht we can be welcoming under New World Order, Rev 13:15 -17.
Pioneers offered us a Constitution different from every various other country in its provisions for self-government and separation of church and also state so that Congress need to make no laws favoring a religious facility (like they performed in the institution coupon program preferring parochial schools of which the great majority are Catholic as are the High Court Justices, etc
. Before Voting, Consider Your VIEW Of America!
Today, we seem to be experiencing a time period, when there is even more rivalry, division, as well as polarization, as we have actually observed, in current memory, as well as, maybe, the bigger amount of people, that seem to be, resistant, to seek any commonalities, in order to safeguard, a far higher chance at getting to, a meeting - of - the - minds, than, this nation has seen, because our Civil War! No doubt, there are numerous reasons for this, consisting of, financial, racial/ ethnic, etc, yet, much of this, may have been, brought - to - a - head, because of the unusual nature of Head of state Trump, and, the means, he frequently seems, to appeal, to disgust and divisiveness, as opposed to bringing individuals with each other! Why do many, who oppose Trump, fall short to be able to see, anything, positive regarding his leadership, while Trump advocates, stay committed to him, and also absolutely nothing, he seems to say, or do, modifications that? Wouldn't it make good sense, before voting, each people, should, seriously, take into consideration, our SIGHT of what this nation stands for, has stood for, is today, and also what we expect, into the future? Keeping that in mind, this write-up will certainly attempt to, briefly, consider, take a look at, examine, and go over, using the mnemonic approach, what this suggests and also stands for, as well as why it matters America Politics.

True Prophecies by False Prophets?
Tumblr media
Image by Erika Wittlieb from Pixabay There is a general belief among Christians that true prophecies cannot be made by false prophets. After all, the thinking goes, false prophets can only give false prophecies. We even have a biblical test to determine if one is a false prophet that is given in Deuteronomy 18:20-22: But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. Just one failed prediction by someone claiming to be a prophet of God makes that person a false prophet! But the opposite is not true, because even if a false prophet should hit on a true prophecy, he could very well still be a false prophet if he fails certain other criteria, as laid out in Deuteronomy chapter 13. This was very serious business because in that day, giving false prophecy was a capital offense and false prophets were to be executed. The penalty had to be that severe, because people had to know who was truly speaking for God, and who was a fraud who could lead the people away from truth. So, in Deuteronomy 13, we have an entire chapter devoted to the description of a false prophet who may give true predictions of future events, the synopsis of which is contained in the first three verses: If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 13:1-3) The first test of a false prophet revolves around the question of which god are they leading you to embrace? It’s interesting that recently, a chance to test a “prophet” surfaced on the Internet. As the Corona virus is spreading across this land, the writings of a deceased psychic, Sylvia Browne, have been cited as evidence of her accuracy and thus her credibility. In her 2008 book, End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World, on page 312 she writes: In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments,” Browne wrote. “Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely.” Viola! Here we are in 2020, and the Corona virus has arrived on the scene, has spread globally, attacks “the lungs and the bronchial tubes,” and at this time we have no vaccine (though most who contract the illness go on to recover). A vaccine is currently being tested, so it is yet to be seen if the illness will indeed “resist all known treatments.” And of course, it will be another ten years before we’ll know if the second part of her prophecy “comes to pass.” If it doesn’t, not to worry, she won’t be stoned to death. It’s “not done” to stone people to death today since we do not live in a theocracy, and in any case, she has already passed from this life. Someone might protest and say Browne never claimed to be a prophet from God. Ah, but she did make exactly that claim! In, “Sylvia Browne Dead at 77: Psychic Said Her Powers 'Come From God'” Christian Post Reporter, Sami K. Martin writes: Sylvia Browne died Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the age of 77. Browne was a prominent figure for those who believed they could see into the future, and Browne firmly believed that her special powers came directly from God, though she was heavily criticized for many of her predictions and claim that she was given information from God and angels. She may have been channeling some being which she mistook as an angel sent by God. There are many people today who are in contact with spirit beings supposedly sent to them by God. It’s quite a popular thing. What would-be channelers do not realize is that they may be in contact with spiritual entities known as demons whose desire it is to lead people away from the one true God. Sylvia Browne most certainly led those who followed her to false gods. In 1986 she founded Society of Novus Spiritus, subtitled, “Gnostic Christians,” definitely leading people to a false god or gods. Christians may shake their heads and wonder how anyone could be deceived by her and/or her spirit contacts, but the whole point of false prophets is deception. Sometimes God uses false prophets to test His people: …you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 13:3) Jesus warned His followers in Matthew 7:15-23 to “Beware of false prophets…” and the two definitions they would have had in mind would have been Deuteronomy 13 and 18. The “fruit” he talks about is not one’s outward good or bad works but their prophecies - and what they teach about God. We know that because of their attempted defense before Him on judgement day: On that day many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:22-23) Truly sad is the fact that false prophets don’t only exist outside the church - in the world of the psychics and “Gnostic Christians” - but inside the church as well. They operate boldly in the ranks of the Word Faith and New Apostolic Reformation. Word Faith teacher, Kenneth Copeland, asserts God is a physical being about six feet tall, weighs a couple of hundred pounds more or less and created Adam to look just like Him. If God and Adam were standing together, Copeland says, you couldn’t tell them apart. Copeland also claims God cannot operate in this “earth realm” without our permission. That would mean God is a contingent being, limited by us, His creation. That man is a false prophet! Yet, he has many followers within the church. They are failing the test because they did critically assess his teachings against scripture. It seems that one of the principle leaders of the NAR, Pastor Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding, CA specializes in training false prophets, as reported by Church Watch in “Bill Johnson – his false prophets cannot graduate before getting three prophecies wrong”: “In response to a question about how he cultivates gifts such as prophecy, Johnson replied, “When I taught my boys to ride their bikes I took them to the park where there was a lot of grass so that when they fell, they fell safely. You have to create a context for people to learn the gifts, to operate in the gifts of the spirit. You have to give them permission to not get it right. In fact at our school we actually require our students to fail three times their first year. At least three times or they can’t graduate.” – Bill Johnson In Deuteronomy 13, if someone made true prophesies but led people to false gods, they were a false prophet (Kenneth Copeland). In Deuteronomy 18, if they made even one false prophecy, they are a false prophet! God only gave us two choices on this question. Give them a “T” (true) or give them an “F” (false). There is no middle ground. For someone to have to go to a school to learn how to be a prophet is very troubling, since true prophets were called by God and given their gift. They did not have to practice! It is especially revealing that these students must prophesy falsely at least three times to graduate! One false prophecy makes them as false a prophet as they ever need to be! Proponents of “prophecy schools” and that whole mess want to argue that New Testament prophets do not have to be 100% correct, but nowhere in scripture do we find that God changed the criteria He laid down in Deuteronomy. We would look in vain to find a passage where God says, “You know what, guys? I am going to change up the rules a bit. From now on, you can go ahead and give false prophecies. After all, perhaps I’m not making Myself clear enough for you to understand.” No, it is God’s very reputation and trustworthiness that is at stake if He were to give His prophets false dreams, visions and prophecies to spread to His people. If you meet up with an NAR “prophet” and point out they are guilty of giving false prophecies, and they respond by saying, “I am a prophet in a sense,” just ask them, “In what sense - true or false?” There is no middle ground on this one.Ω
