despite getting along with my uni project teammates pretty well i can't help but sense alienation. the deeper i get into the program, the more i notice how much of a boys' club tech field still is and how hard it is for its members to take me seriously (especially when i'm in a leadership role). we have times when we informally converse and joke around, but then we have a formal meeting and i can fill out an entire women in tech experiences bingo in twenty minutes (featuring being interrupted or totally ignored, guys taking credit for ideas i've expressed before, etc.). weird.

#i realized that this is an issues when i noticed how often the only other woman in my class was standing up for me #i'm worried that my lack of assertiveness or reactivity makes me part of the issue #but also staying quiet seems like the safest strategy as an only woc in the entire program...#journaling
