     IT was suppose to be a simple task of sending off a spirit to the afterlife. She was so certain she could have fulfilled the yokai's wishes to return to where they belong. But her efforts were in vain when the sudden appearance of the unknown figure came out from one of the ruined huts of an abandoned village. While she would have tried to defend herself from the threat however, there was something about him that caused Ryo to freeze in her spot as the atmosphere around them turned to something more... wicked and sinister.

     THE moment Ryo snapped back into reality, unnerved eyes witnessed a horrifying sight before her -- the yokai she was suppose to send off was lifted off the ground by the other by the neck. The spiritual creature seemed to have protected her from the demonic figure, but at the cost of their own lives. That alone was enough to make the young summoner worried and desperate to help them, but the yokai took one look at her as reassurance before the sound of bones cracking was heard, and the life in the yokai's eyes were taken away by him.

     THE look it gave to her meant as a sign to not save them, but to leave the place.

     RYO shook her head faintly as she stepped back and closed her eyes to look away, the sight of a huge black wolf with crimson eyes appeared from behind and took her by the back of the collar. With the creature lifting her off the ground, it ran towards the dense forest that surrounded the village to make its escape before the situation could escalate badly.

   I...I could’ve done something to save them...
