Just popping in that demons just absolutely fucking kills me. There are several aspects of mike in this that i can relate to way too much, while he simultaniously reminds me of former friends of mine and im just. Emo about it. Loooove the codependency he has going on with max (never thought id read about max and mike making out without gagging but here we are xD) also. I wanna murder troy. And all those stranger and. Teachers(is it the one that put them together foe the project???)

Thank you so so much!! It does make me sad that you find him so relatable in this. I think he's sort of a a conglomerate of feelings I have felt in my life, definitely some friends I have, and some characters in stories that have effected me deeply. This version of Mike--his pain is great, and it's been interesting to delve into his very complicated feelings around his abuse as well as his grief. So I'm pretty emo about it too, ngl.

Lmao, that's the most common response I get when I write madwheeler. Their co-dependency in this story is definitely interesting and like--i get it ya know? they're all each other has really, and I love this intense platonic thing they have going on with its own unique set of boundaries. To the outside world, it probably is weird and doesn't make sense. But to them---it's how they love each other and it's totally natural.

Troy----well Troy is something. 😢 His relationship with Mike is so convoluted and also co-dependent even with Troy's abuse. And--you caught that didn't you? Remember in chapter 4 when Mike said that Mr. Richards was "a fucking douchebag" ? ....yeah. 😒 Makes you think more on why Mike even ended up back in his class and why he's torturing him by being set up with Will on a project.

YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!!! The thing is, I think this also has deeper roots in how Ashley and Andrew each process love and what they each mean to each other.

Andrew is more physical regarding his love as a whole; sexual desire is just a boiling point he reaches. Odds are he can't help wanting to touch—it's just how he is, and most of the time, it isn't even sexual. He can't keep his hands off her bc it's how he conveys his fondness. It's tender, even, especially given that he clearly doesn't allow himself to voice the truths of his heart aloud. I mean, we're talking abt a guy who can't even admit he misses her sometimes LMAO so as a result, his care for her leaks out of him in how close he stands, how he twirls her hair around his finger. How he lays her head on his lap while he waits for her to wake up, how he pets her head when he pulls her close.

With Ashley, he only allows himself platonic interactions, which builds his sexual frustration. When met in such stark contrast with Ashley's apparent indifference to sex, that frustration only seems louder.

Meanwhile, Ashley—despite what her general deviance and her cavalier attitude might have you assume—is more emotionally driven. She's all words of affirmation and acts of service. She needs to hear Andrew admitting he cares abt her more than she needs to hold his hand (needing him to "prove" he chose her, asking if she's pretty, heckling him abt how he didn't say he loves her back). His presence alone is enough to satisfy her bc her inferiority complex has her fighting tooth and nail just to keep even that much of him. It's a means to an ends for her in a way that you'd sooner quench your thirst w/water than with a milkshake when you think you're at constant threat of dehydration.

It's like a hierarchy of needs. What Ashley craves is unconditional love; the love of undying friendship, family, a soulmate. Base level for her. It's life-giving. Andrew is the only way she'll ever satisfy this craving, and she's insecure abt him, doesn't think she truly has him.

Andrew is also lowkey operating on something similar, bc he's in the same weird codependency boat where she's become everything to him too (think, real quick, of how he's never actually expressed lasting care for anyone but Ashley; lover, parent, or friend). He's just less obvious abt it, bc he feigns normality, bc Ashley readily slots into his life w/o his input. Base level needs fulfilled.

The issue is that sex and romance is the only aspect of his life Ashley doesn't immediately manifest in, and he feels that imbalance profoundly. His wires got crossed. Truthfully, I think he only gets girlfriends bc he thinks Ashley couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't be that for him too. He doesn't really love them. His girlfriends are simply there to satisfy his desires (either for normalcy or for Ashley) bc they're building and there's nothing else he can do.

After all, in the flashback, Julia said she'll be fine as long as he's with her. He doesn't return the sentiment, lapses into silence.

Asks her to tie her hair.

Ok i have to talk about how Andrew seems. How do i put this. Hornier? For Ashley, than Ashley is for him- which i find both extremely funny and narratively fascinating. Also how Ashley views sex as transactional let's go:

Ashley is obsessed with Andrew, that's obvious, blah blah we don't even need to get into it; but when the topic of sex arises, we mostly only see her pursue it as a means to an end. She suggests that she may be able to escape the apartment through a pregnancy, or procure money through acting as a call girl whilst in the motel. 

Each time, it's Andrew who expresses disdain and stops her from going through with what would otherwise be a rather clinical approach to sex on her end. Ashley puts very little stock in the worth of sex, and seems to border on completely uninterested in it. 

Even with Andrew, she internally suggests it matters very little to her. She could take or leave sex with him, so long as he stays around. But Andrew is far more keen on sex and sexual practices; he's apparently (decently) popular with woman and is self described as "not celibate", much to Ashley's chagrin.

When Andrew brings up sex, it's never tactically, like Ashley. When he asks his girlfriend to put up her hair, or bitterly refuses to allow Ashley a sexual partner- even when it would benefit them both AND wouldn't bother her at all- it's just. So telling. So. Indicative of SOMETHING about him. He's the one that's always touching her, and how deeply red he flushes after the dream sequence is insane... And! The way he has an internal space in his mind dedicated to Ashley HARASSING one of his ex's, furious over the fact that she can't give him the sex he so clearly enjoys. Is. We'll say 'hilarious', instead of 'pitiful'.

I’ve been having a lot of Evil Robo BnT thoughts recently, so here’s a bunch of them! This ended up pretty long just as a forwarning djjdjd

Post DeNomolos, Evil BnT are forced to do a lot of self exploration and discovery

They’re two robots from the far future, stuck in the past with each other and the two humongously important historical figures they were not only sent back to kill, but also physically made to look and sound exactly like, with no way back to their own time and no further reason to carry out the mission they were created for

It’s a lot to adjust to

(Three uses of the f-slur near the end in a canon compliant/reclaimed usage context, and implied sexual content, but extremely mild)

It still doesn’t have much of an impact on them at first though, besides some anger and annoyance. They don’t feel emotions in the same way or to the same depth that humans do, so they kind of fall back on: this sucks and that guy was a dick, guess we have to live in the stupid past now, and that’s the extent of it

But they’re also AIs, and AIs learn and grow

They hide out in a cheap apartment for the first few months or so back, going out to steal money to pay for rent and to pick up movies and stuff, but it’s exposure to the world, it’s living. And the more they interact with people, the more media they consume, the more the rigid walls of their programming break down and expand

And that’s when things start getting complicated

Because that’s when things like morals, sense of self, purpose in life, and, to their horror, real emotions start coming into play

Their evil edges start corroding, things stop being as straightforward, and they start developing into their own complex people

Being Bill and Ted with a few glorified descriptors stuck on the front starts feeling… weird, especially when they inevitably end up running into them again and being around them more

Because they’re supposed to be Bill and Ted, but they aren’t, and yet they can’t completely deny the parts of themselves that are….. it’s frustrating

As a first step in both asserting and exploring their individuality, they choose their own names

Evil Bill chooses Willis, or Will for short, and Evil Ted goes with Theoneous, Theo for short

It’s different enough to feel like their own thing, while still appeasing the ingrained itch to take BnT’s place

There are gaps like that, a disconnect/mental dissonance between their consciousnesses and the knowledge that they’re robots, circuitboards and wires and code, like a separation between what they feel is them and what they feel is the robot

That’s an experience that continues as they grow, especially as they try and figure out what to do with their lives. It’s tough sometimes, to figure out where the programming ends and where their own wants and drives begin

They’re the only ones familiar enough with future tech to help each other when they experience technical issues or need repairs, and the only ones they feel comfortable being that physically vulnerable with

It leads to them being kind of codependent, but it’s warranted in a lot of ways

They also naturally stick closer to each other, because even though they grow to have emotions and are able to care about people, they aren’t totally mushy

They don’t get as upset about things, or as excited, and while they form their own kind of love for the people they end up caring about (without admitting it), they’re still never able to connect with humans in the same way they connect with each other

It’s this inherent wall, a difference in how they experience the world

Their forms of affection are machine based, just like how humans are human based. They’ll give each other cold packs when it’s hot or they’ve been moving a lot, they’ll do evening maintenance on each other, chatting while one of them has their hand in the other’s chest cavity, and they jump on each other or bang their shoulders together super hard, because they can’t feel a thing and they’re durable enough for it, and that’s fun to them

That doesn’t really carry over to human interaction though, and a lot of times they end up coming across as cold or mean

They generally have a rougher seeming relationship than most humans. There’s a lot of teasing and insults and slapping, which turns most people off from them, but that’s how they show they’re comfortable (it’s also how they show they don’t like people, but there’s a subtle and meaningful difference there, AKA that they won’t purposefully try to harm the former party)

Robots process sound differently too, for them it’s more of a physical experience than just listening

Will’s guilty pleasure is that he likes to listen to piano (secretly), especially Debussy and other classical that sounds similar. Something about it makes his circuitry feel good and fuzzy and calms him down

He doesn’t feel comfortable telling Theo about it, it still feels like a dumb pussweed thing to be into (plus it continues to make him have some most non metal thoughts about kissing and That’s DEFINITELY not something he can share)

They also both really like death metal. Though they were loosely programmed with the knowledge of BnT’s music taste, it’s not quite their style, and they lean towards the more intense stuff

They do that in most fields though, since it usually takes higher energy stuff to get them going/excited/into something

That’s why they roughhouse a lot, and mess things up, and drive recklessly, it forces their mechanics to process more things more quickly, and as a result gives them their own form of dopamine/adrenaline

Sometimes things backfire, they’ve fucked themselves up accidentally on more then one occasion when stuff goes too far or isn’t what they expect, but they’re always there to patch each other up

When their synth skin gets ripped or torn they don’t always bother to repair it, and underneath there’s a layer of see through hard plastic and their bodies look like those clear case electronics that were popular in the 90s (idea cred to @juiceboxfrog !)

They also have inspector gadget-like telescoping stretch arms at their wrist and ankle joints, but they don’t use those much because they’re unsettling to most humans. Definitely a leg up when they want to climb places the shouldn’t, though (idea cred to @showbiz-za !)

Theo is more prone to needing fix ups than Will, since the extra wiring that was installed for the time and space spanning camera DeNomolos gave him made him more susceptible to short circuiting, over heating, and other glitches

After awhile he just takes his left eye out and leaves it like that, keeping his hair in his face to cover it. It doesn’t do anything for the internal parts of it he still has, but it’s not like it’s a loss. The connection port kept sparking, and it was uncomfortable and kept fucking with his vision, so it wasn’t worth it

Plus he didn’t really like that it used to be a camera… or still could be

One of the things Will and Theo both have to get used to is actually valuing their own privacy and autonomy

When DeNomolos was around they were just his tools, tools that he didn’t even like

They honestly grow to resent him pretty fast, both with his treatment of them, and, when their emotions are especially out of control, his creation of them

They don’t talk about it much, or when they do it’s mainly anger, not addressing or showing the more raw parts they do feel, because that’s still foreign to them, and their circuits weren’t designed to process or understand more complex stuff

Complex stuff like how being around Ted more makes Theo develop a certain… insecurity

It’s not like the connections are hard to make: he looks like Ted, he sounds like Ted, he was meant to be Ted, Ted has a dickweed of a dad, and Theo had a dickweed of a creator, Ted has Bill and Theo has Will

But Theo doesn’t have Deacon

And while he doesn’t want to be exactly like Ted, part of him also does (it was made to). Part of him wants to be human, to have those natural connections and someone to watch over

But he doesn’t and it’s weird*

He tries to ignore it, chalks it up to his drive still attempting to put him on his original track of replacing Ted, and therefore making him more aware of the family roles Ted has

For all he knows that is what it is, he’s just a robot after all

Even though they aren’t really ones for mushy love, Will and Theo do love each other

You can’t not when you know the other person inside and out, literally

They joke a lot about that when they’re doing repairs (“Dude you’re holding my heart, pretty faggy of you.”), and though they laugh, there’s an unspoken intimacy to it, something that sits warm in their wires and goes beyond platonic; something (though they would never describe it as such) loving about getting to take care of each other, and getting to get taken care of

The jokes also stop being jokes after awhile and take on a charge, morphing into unofficial flirting

Eventually that charge sparks, and their relationship becomes a different kind of physical. That’s new, too, a type of exploration neither of them are familiar with, but it’s nice, it’s good, and it’s easier to write off as casual and not meaningful than anything else (for the record I do think this works/plays out different for them than it does for humans, but I will nOt get into that here or anywhere lmao)

That arrangement doesn’t last forever, though, because one night Theo has a bad malfunction that cause him to completely power down, and it sends Will into a panic

It takes him almost an hour to fix the problem and for Theo to reboot, and when he comes back Will can’t stop touching him and checking in and it’s weird

“Why are you so worked up dude, this’s happened plenty of times.”

“Yeah I know you just… you fritzed out and went limp and it freaked me out dude.”

“So? You know this is nothing to worry about. I don’t get why you’re kinda acting like such a pussweed dude.”

“I didn’t know what was wrong! That’s plenty of reason to be fucking worried!”

“Not for you! Not for us! Why the hell do you care so much this time?”

“Because I love you, asshole!”

And then there’s silence, and staring, and then Theo cracks a smile

“Heh, fag.”

Kissing after a confession, as it turns out, makes both of them short circuit, and they wake up three days later still tangled up on top of each other, half falling off the apartment couch

“Y’know… I think we’re both fags now dude,” Will whispers, and they chuckle in the space between their mouths. “I did it first though.”

*he does get this later with Billie and Thea, but that’s a whole separate post

(As one last thing wanted to add that Love Came Along by Pansy Division perfectly encapsulates the vibes of Will n Theo’s relationship to me, AKA something casual and almost humorous while still being super intimate and emotional, so def check it out if you’re ok with suuuuper explicitly sexual lyrics bfgjgfdfg)

(thoughts on scarabedo and the AO3 relationship tag)

regarding the scarabedo relationship in lltll (or any of the fics I write for them)… honestly idk how to tag them? should I use the platonic tag or the romantic tag? in lltll, they won't have an explicit romantic relationship the way venlumi does, but they'll develop a strong bond that can be read as either platonic or romantic depending on whether or not the reader is wearing shipping goggles.

as a writer, I don't really care how they're interpreted. I'm here to present the story as it is; the nature of their relationship is up for the reader to decide.

but to contrast the existing relationships... venlumi gets the romantic tag because venti is an explicitly romantic person. lumine's character arc is about her learning to be more cognizant of her own feelings and letting herself be vulnerable. and they're the type of people who won't shy away from showing their favoritism to one another, showing that they care, saying they're in love. so their relationship is very obviously romantic.

but scarabedo? ugh, they're so complicated lmao. personally, I don't think they're the type of people who care about relationship labels, or even have conventional ideas of romantic relationships. hence why I'm not sure how to tag this lol. besides that, the characters themselves are too busy with other things to worry about relationship statuses and love declarations. they'll develop a strong bond for sure, and I do think that albedo is the one person that scaramouche will let himself trust and be vulnerable with. the one person he lets himself get attached to after not trusting people for so long. so, in a sense, you could say that scaramouche is definitely "in love" with albedo.

but hell, what even is their idea of love? honestly I think all immortals should, by default, have unconventional ideas of love by virtue of them having warped ideas of time and mortality and gender, and most likely not socialized to be a regular human, etc. but that's another topic entirely.

my default headcanon is that albedo is dismissive-avoidant. he's empathetic (there is the idea that dismissive-avoidants have low empathy, which is not necessarily true at all!) but he has low relationship anxiety and high self-reliance / self-esteem. honestly this is probably a projection on my part because this is my attachment style lmao. I tweeted about this before.

scaramouche, on the other hand... I think he's likely to develop the tendency to be codependent with another person. BUT HERE'S THE THING scaramouche also likes being independent. it's important to him that he can exercise his autonomy.

I talked about a potential scarabedo dynamic before and I think it still holds up. I'll copy paste everything here for context:

albedo needs someone who will tell things to him straight with brutal honesty so he can confront his own issues without sliding into avoidance/detachment as a solution. it's okay to have emotions. live outside your head.

scaramouche needs someone who can understand his unique circumstances in life and give him the space to be emotional without fear of being abandoned or that it will make him seem weak. vulnerability isn't weakness. you deserve to be your own person, whoever that is.

they are both comforts to each other and they understand this BUT it's not smooth-sailing. it's abrasive.

scaramouche challenges albedo's preference for solitude and objectivity. it's draining to understand. albedo brings out envy/resentment in scaramouche because how come his life is so much better? albedo has so many people who care for him, but he's detached to most of it and it's upsetting to him.

important to note that this dynamic allows scaramouche to display his mean side without getting punished or pushed away for it. albedo finds it amusing and refreshing. it's nice not to be revered as a genius like everyone else does.

I also don't think albedo lacks empathy — in fact, I think he's naturally considerate of people!! but how he takes care of others and how he takes care of his OWN emotions is a different thing entirely.

lastly, I think scaramouche has a very strong will to power and protective of his autonomy. an important part of this dynamic, for them to trust each other, is albedo respecting that. scaramouche doesn't have to prove anything to him.

another fun dynamic to explore would be scarabedo bonding over the shared sentiment of both having the capacity to kill someone or be kind to someone at their whims.

albedo: I can kill you but I just choose not to (because I have no reason to)

scaramouche: I can be kind but I choose when I want to be (when I think you deserve my kindness)

I think it's important that scaramouche is treated as his own person, without the additional layers of his affiliations. he's not a puppet, he's not a fatuus, he's not an eccentric revenge-seeking wanderer. he's just him, and he doesn't have to justify himself to other people. albedo fulfills this need because he's the type of person who doesn't have preconceived notions of how other people should act, how they're expected to act, etc.

likewise, if you want to hold albedo's attention, you have to be someone who is interesting and doesn't let social etiquette get in the way of doing something. he finds it taxing to have to navigate all these social rules. and I think he's the type of person who enjoys being challenged. scaramouche is mean, he's blunt, but he's not evil. he won't shy away from voicing his opinions, he's not going to treat albedo as a prodigy or a genius to be in awe of, and he's going to challenge albedo's beliefs in a way that makes albedo want to assess his own beliefs and see if they still hold true. it's like... if a scientist sees something that defies all known theories, they would run experiments to see if that theory holds up or needs to be refined or thrown away. and since albedo genuinely loves research and science and figuring things out, scaramouche doesn't come off as a mean person, but as an important critic to the body of knowledge he's working off of.

so it's like... they're the type of people who understand each other in a way that nobody else does. for some, this counts as them having a "soulmate"-esque bond. that the universe would bring two characters who are narrative foils of each other, together bound by a cosmic understanding that nobody else shares.

but I don't see them confessing or getting married or whatever. and I know those aren't needed to make a relationship romantic — that's just the superficial stuff. what I'm saying is that this kind of relationship is something that can be either romantic or platonic. they can be lovers, they can have a queer platonic partnership, they can be soulmates. scaramouche would say, "who cares what we are? all I know is you're important to me and I better damn well be important to you (albedo). that's all that matters."

and the way the story will pan out... there won't be the usual "pay off" that is expected of a romantic relationship tag. they will have a deep trusting bond that lasts across space and time (this is not an exaggeration), and I certainly count that as romantic. but you won't see them say "I love you" or kiss or have sex (maybe the reader can imagine it behind the scenes, I honestly don't mind). so, I mean, I don't want to mislead anyone who might put their expectations of a romantic relationship in a fic because I use a relationship tag, you know? I don't think their relationship is very amatonormative.

so, yeah, it's up for interpretation I guess? I certainly think they're one of the more romantic pairings out there but. idk how that will come across to the reader lmao ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

Gloria. Gloria write it. You know what, me, you, @disheveledcurls, we’re all thinking variations of the same thing - polyamorous Joanlock. Queer platonic, aromantic, asexual, a combination or none of those things, polyamory is a thing with these two, I just know it is. And they’re soulmates in every way who understand each other more than anyone else in their lives and we’re gonna write it I don’t even care.

Also I could go off on a Watsonian rant on why Joan feels differently than Sherlock, but that ties into the whole jealous!Sherlock thing that I still haven’t been able to organize my thoughts on, so for now I’ll just say: The emotional angst and repression between these two is the most infuriating wonderful thing to ever grace the small screen IMHO and I am a disaster

(and maybe it’s codependency and maybe it’s not but either way they need to talk abt it.) we don’t know what joan feels bc the writers give us nothing (which never ceases to be infuriating) but if i were her i’d be at least apprehensive abt starting a relationship if my last boyfriend died because of me and my best friend’s ex happens to be a psychopath. so idk!! realistically*, i guess by the end of the season we could be looking at a relationship that will be coded as "romantic” (i.e. w/ sherlock and joan as a “couple”, not dating other people or looking for a “romantic” partner elsewhere) and asexual/platonic (with the implication that either or both of them could be looking for occasional sexual partners elsewhere). i don’t dare hope for more. but i guess they could give us this much if it were left on the subtextual level. clearly, they’re not brave enough to come out and openly give us an asexual/aromantic interracial couple. (and particularly this couple, since they’re so //adamant// on respecting the canon all of a sudden. #yourracismisshowing) but even if it’s implied, even if it’s subtext, it will be important and i will embrace it.

if they were good writers –paging the people who wrote s1 please, wherever they are– this would naturally tie into the question of the growing rift between sherlock and joan abt their professional lives, as posed by 5.04 (and 5.01 of course), bc clearly for them the personal and professional are impossibly intertwined. if they were good writers, this would lead to a) an unearthing of the pain joan has been delaing w/ (or rather, burying and denying) for years, with sherlock stepping the f*ck up to help her address it as she has done for him in the past, b) an open discussion of their careers and a renegotiation of their partnership so that it’s fulfilling and right for both of them (it has to be their world not just his), which could possibly involve joan going back to medicine in some shape or form in addition to her detective work, and c) a renegotiation of their partnership on a personal level, i.e., can they take it any further in any direction, and if so, how? or if not, are they happy with how they stand & satisfied w/ what they can give each other? i don’t trust these writers anymore, but at the very least some of this should come up throughout the season.

Rocío I’m so glad you said this, because yes I’ve considered how Joan’s traumas affect her complete lack of a dating life but /of course/ they would also affect any consideration of her deepening her relationship with Sherlock in any emotional capacity. I wonder if she’s even considered it consciously or if she’s buried that want along with the pain of her traumas so she can’t even properly recognize that’s something she would want.

Like, I just feel for Joan so much. I have to write with her because there’s so much she deserves that she hasn’t gotten. So much that I’m sure this fandom has already written the equivalent of several novels because her character needs and deserves that much consideration. As a writer and just, as a person who’s been through my own versions of loss, I want so much for Joan.

hypmic Secret Santa 2018 requests

hi! thanks so much for making me a thing, i’m excited to see what you come up with!

i’ll go into more detail about what i might like for different hypmic characters and/or ships below, but you can also look at my general likes/dislikes and nsfw likes/dislikes. (some of my prompt ideas are nsfw but i’ll flag them accordingly) 

i tend to be pretty long-winded with my exchange requests, but please know that all of these are intended as suggestions or as jumping-off points for you to brainstorm ideas, if that sort of thing helps you. i’d say the only thing you “have” to read are my general dislikes, i.e. things i definitely do not want to see in a fic.

i’ve lumped my ideas according to crew/ship because it was easier for me to organize everything that way, but i’d also be happy with single-character-centric or platonic/gen fic, it doesn’t necessarily have to be shippy!

~ MATENROU ~  - i ship all three of them in any combo tbh, including OT3  - i’d love to see soft domestic moments together, literal sleeping together, or anything relaxing with any ship combo tbh - i like supernatural elements in general, but i quite like the idea of Jakurai in particular being some sort of supernatural or immortal being living among humans (e.g. Shinigami, vampire, some sort of monster person) - please don’t include suicide/suicidal ideation for Doppo. 

hifudo - i really like their whole semi-codependent dynamic where they help each other with things they’re bad at and fill in the gaps for each other (Doppo reigning Hifumi in when he gets out of hand, Hifumi taking care of/standing up for Doppo)  - silly roommate shenanigans - how did they become roommates anyway? what were the early days of them living together and getting used to sharing a space like?  - i really like intimacy and knowing each other really well, better than most other people know you, so, anything with that? - one of them going on a trip and the other missing his presence?  - maybe Doppo doing something to show his appreciation for everything Hifumi does at home??  - going on vacation together! - get-together fic! i especially like UST and/or mutual pining (them living together for a while but not realizing they’re into each other) or them like... basically dating, or everyone around them thinking they’re dating, before the two of them realize oh that’s p much what they’re doing huh?  - that Hifumi apparently wants guys to call him “Hifumin” as well is too cute... Doppo call him “Hifumin” already. please. 

nsfw ideas:  - sleepy languid sex after one/both of them come home from work and scoot into bed together; exhausted sex  - somnophilia if you wanna take that a lil further (Doppo gets so little sleep......)  - Doppo groping/sexing Hifumi up bc he’s stressed out from work and this is a good release, lol. jakudoppo  - the way i envision their dynamic is very, Doppo deeply respecting Jakurai as this mentor/role model/authority figure, but also thirsting after/crushing on him so hard he doesn’t know what to do w/himself, and lowkey being unable to reconcile the two (thirsting after your role model is rude/disrespectful, isn’t it??)  - buuut he does work thru it eventually bc i don’t want this to turn into full-fledged angst, tho some (perceived as one-sided) pining could be good - but yeah like... Doppo just, reacting really intensely to the smallest goddamn things. Jakurai sitting there but the sunlight hits him in this nice kind of way and makes him look really handsome. Jakurai patting his head or kissing his cheek. chaste kisses.  - my ship manifesto for them is essentially “Doppo dies a lot” - meanwhile, i really like how Jakurai takes care of Doppo, talks him through his anxieties, etc (both in a gen or a romantic way)  - i also feel like neither of them have done much romantically... (or at least for Jakurai it’s been a while) Doppo because he’s too busy and stressed to make time for dates and Jakurai because i don’t really see him dating casually... if he’s really into the person he’ll date them but otherwise he doesn’t go out of his way to find people to date? i guess what this means is: them getting together and Doppo being relatively inexperienced and Jakurai being rusty so they have to kinda fumble through it a bit, at least at the beginning  - get together fic! who confesses to who? how does Doppo even get past his anxiety to talk about it??  - Doppo in Jakurai’s lap is a good image  nsfw ideas:  - with the above ship dynamic stuff in mind... this lends itself very well to Doppo being cool with doing “anything” for Jakurai (not in the sense of, agreeing to things he doesn’t want to do, but perhaps agreeing to more than he can actually handle and ending up being sort of out of his depth)  - i like... a lot of kinks for them, honestly. it’s real easy to fit other kinks into this D/s sort of framework. e.g.s bondage, breathplay (obvs), fingering/prostate milking, edging, overstimulation, being overwhelmed, fisting, even something more AU or supernatural like naga!Jakurai and tailsex or oviposition  - also just D/s in general or Jakurai service-topping Doppo and wanting to take good care of him in a sex way  - that said, i see them both switching rather than Doppo being bottom all the time — Doppo would prob really be into making Jakurai feel good  - kink negotiation; Doppo being nervous/embarrassed about explaining to Jakurai that he’s into a thing (and Jakurai probably sort of guessing from the beginning anyway)  - Doppo’s anxiety compounding with arousal in general  - Doppo being a virgin or, at least not having done very much (e.g. trading handjobs with Hifumi once or twice but nothing else) and Jakurai being his "first” for a lot of sexual experiences  - Jakurai not being that great at sex bc he’s rusty but Doppo being really into it anyways bc it’s Jakurai - Doppo kinking on Jakurai’s hands/hair 

jakuhifu - admittedly i haven’t thought about them as much as hifudo and jakudoppo, but i still like it as a ship... i especially like thinking about Hifumi being really overt about wanting Jakurai’s attention, sort of as an extension of how he acts in canon (just swinging into Jakurai’s office, going fishing together etc) - i see their regard for each other kinda like jakudoppo, but without any of Doppo’s hangups about it since it’s Hifumi, lol. Hifumi respects Jakurai and crushes on Jakurai and! it’s fine!  - pat his head and spoil him, sensei!

OT3 - please let them go fishing together/do something relaxing together - established hifudo and fitting Jakurai into their relationship  - established hifudo talking about how into Jakurai they are  - h/c or healing each other up after receiving battle damage  - i have this really persistent mental image of them all laying in bed together and hifudo just on either side of Jakurai curling into him... 

nsfw ideas: - hifudo talking about how into Jakurai they are while they get off together - taking “competing for Jakurai’s attention” to a sexual level (who can make sensei feel better?)  - Jakurai getting hifudo off using his hypmic/voice 

~ JYUTODOPPO ~  - the basis for this ship is mostly the fact that they knew each other before and the stuff in Death Respect tbh - riling each other up or angry UST - what they say to each other in Death Respect seems... really personal to me, like they used to know each other way better than just a casual acquaintanceship and/or reading up on each other before the battle. how did they know each other? - i really like knowing each other p well but also being enemies, and weaponizing all the shit that you know about each other  - moving away from the Death Respect/enemy dynamic, Jyuto being a really smooth flirt and Doppo being drawn into it in spite of himself is good too  - or, actually liking each other romantically and managing that relationship on top of being on rival rap battle teams 

nsfw ideas: - angry sex - pain kink, blood  - using sex as a means to feel powerful/dominant over the other  - suit kink; hand/glove kink (it is Jyuto after all)  - semi-public sex  - Jyuto on his knees reducing Doppo to nothing via BJ while Doppo grabs his hair 

~ DICE SHIPS ~ - ...namely: Ramuda, Rio, Doppo (& Hifumi) - tbh mostly i like thinking about the others “adopting” Dice in some way (i mean, for Ramuda this is basically canon lol since Dice goes to live in his house)  - Ramuda just thinking Dice is a teammate (and then maybe an FWB) but unexpectedly catching feelings and not knowing wtf to do about it  - Ramuda using Dice to model his fashion designs  - Rio/Dice and the adventure of living in the woods, Rio feeding Dice and Dice enjoying his cooking etc - tbh out of all of them i actually think Rio/Dice would be the most stable romantic relationship? i just like thinking about them being cute domestic loving boyfriends. Rio seems like he’d be a good rock for Dice’s erratic Dice-ness  - Dice being an actual catboy that gets adopted (i particularly like this one for Doppo + Hifumi) 

nsfw ideas:  - taking the “adopting Dice” idea a step further to sugar baby Dice, except he’s not really a good sugar baby like... at all. instead of coming home to find him being all sexy in bed or something the other person just finds him lounging on the couch with empty chip packets everywhere  - Dice has a thing for thrills and risking himself/risking being in danger and i can definitely see that extending to sex as well. 

~ JAKURAMU ~  - supernatural AU with either or both of them being some sort of monster person (again, Jakurai being a naga. Ramuda being a fae or a changeling. but basically open to any supernatural creature possibility, not even necessarily humanoid ones)  - full-on fantasy AU where they’re not even in the hypmic ‘verse anymore  - i’m really curious about why they hate each other so much or why they both feel betrayed by the other. the common idea is that one broke the other’s heart or left the other, but i’d be interested to see other ideas of what might have lead to this deep betrayal, to the extent that Jakurai thinks of Ramuda as lacking humanity and Ramuda can’t even bear to talk about Jakurai anymore  - both of them seem to have? potential shadiness about them? Ramuda bc of the reveal that he’s connected to the govt (and just, general fake cute fronting, what is it exactly that he has to hide?) and Jakurai bc to me at times it feels like his saintliness is almost too good to be true, plus if he’s such a good person, what exactly did he do to make Ramuda so angry at him? it’d be interesting to explore that as well
