You know who they did the dirtiest in Arcane? Apart from Vander that is.

The answer is Mel. My baby girl lost her two boyfriends and I'm tired of pretending like I'm okay about it.

She gave everything to their dream.

"She wanted to use them." YES! At first! At first she thought they were a great investment. Then she came to love them with more sincerity and more care than many other relationships in the show. Sure some of the toxic things she'd learnt from her home tended to seep into the relationship, but she did everything she could to prune that away.

She loved them. She poured everything into their dream. Everything into helping Jayce get rid of Heimerdinger when he wanted to ban the research that could help Viktor, everything to help them both vote for peace and make the council decision unanimous. Everything to get back to them, after getting kidnapped! 🥺 After going through every version of hell, she immediately gravitated to where she would find them, 😭 find the only loves that had ever accepted her without necessarily demanding anything in return.

And Riot just took that away. And I'm tired of acting like I'm okay with it.

I'm tired of everyone saying Mel deserves better than Jayce and Viktor, tired of people shipping her with people she's never met (especially when the aim is just to give her someone who is not Jayce or Viktor), I'm tired of the strong independent black woman stereotype following Mel around when it's the LAST thing that she wants when she only just learnt to be soft with Jayce and open with her heart once again. I am tired of people calling her a manipulator as if her character arc ended there, as if she did not unlearn toxic love and traded it for the gentle bond she then had with her two favourite scientists.

I'm tired of people not acknowledging that she had to leave Piltover, not just because the Medarda family needed her, but also because her boys were gone. The family she had finally made for herself, the family she was willing to abandon her family name for. They're gone and I don't think Riot will ever be kind enough to give them back to her.

Everyone else, even Ekko sort of has a family to fall back to. Mel has successfully lost everyone. The fact that Lest is the closest person to Mel left says way too much about how awful this whole situation is.

And I am TIRED, I am so sick and TIRED, of people acting like she did not love Jayce and Viktor. I am so sick and tired of people acting like Jayce did not love her. It probably hurt him too to leave her behind.

The tragedy of them is that Jayce knew Mel still had the chance to refind her feet, but Viktor had only ever had Jayce, and Jayce would NEVER leave Viktor alone. And it hurts that Mel probably wished she could have gone with them, because now she has to start everything from scratch and barely anyone in the fandom acknowledges that side of her pain and I HATE IT!

mostly throwing down ideas for my own writing, but like. i actually think tad should have something feral about him. like a little, wild rabbit, aware of being a natural prey, who, without anyone to care for him, with hunters craving his blood and flesh in his own home, had to grow teeth for himself, and has learned to sink them into whatever comes close. he' only ever known hungry predators, why should there ever be anything different?

and it doesn't matter how much bon ton he's taught, what mellow and elegant words are stuffed into his mouth, what expensive designer clothes are hung into his closet. there should be something wild, some vicious instinct that can can be controlled but never hidden, something violent and aggressive in his eyes. something that screams, bite, before it bites you. there should be something in his eyes, some fear with teeth, if you will.

everyone in the sjm world fandom asking / theorizing for a tamlin redemption arc but at the same time shitting and rolling their eyes at chaol’s redemption journey … like you can’t even handle chaol’s and , while i’m only half way through tower of dawn , even i know and aware of the fact yes he was an ass at times towards aelin , but he was no where near as bad as tamlin was to feyra and everyone. and yet you sit there and say that? make it make sense.

I feel like I never see people talk about how scary chasers are. The pure dread I feel when I see hordes of people lust over their atomized perception of what trans women are. The jokes that reduce us to mere tropes, an exotic off-shoot of real girls. It horrifies me how little agency I have in how strangers talk about me and people like me. There are some chasers that really want to be perceived as allies to trans women, and I've tried reasoning with those people. It's like I'm a ghost. I am not actively in that moment an object of their desire, so I do not exist in their world.

but like...that makes no sense. She transformed Medusa in a monster. She's a goddess, she could have done anything else, but sheh chose to give medusa snakes for hair, and essentially isolate her from the rest of the world. That isn't trying to help, she screwed the girl over, which makes way more sense (to me) considering that the greek gods are assholes most of the time.

My VTM character has been put into Fallout 4 and I don’t regret it at all. He’s been so much fun to play as and to try and build a melee/charisma build around!

There’s a theory that the Sole Survivor is actually a synth and I absolutely love said theory and it makes a hell of a lot of sense (more sense than the actual twist) and it fits Calvin perfectly.

In this AU he’s ex military AND serial killer who had his reign of terror before the war in his old life. Now he gets his kicks off of killing raiders and other wasteland filth who want to hurt innocent settlers.

He’s mostly a do-gooder, but he’s a do-gooder who doesn’t take shit, isn’t super nice with his help and often demands extra pay when he’s particularly inconvenienced, or testing to see how much of a stand-up guy a leader is.

Resistant to authority, questioning government in whatever form it takes, lashing out at people who take advantage and lie and cheat and steal, this man is volatile in his quest to make the world better and the world is better for it.

Also he 100% settles down in Far Harbor at the end. He loves the seaside and the isolation.

Kind of a late addition considering this post has taken off, but yeah it does feel as though it's thinly-veiled bigotry whenever people call something "neurodivergent" or "trans" in a bad way. "Oh I don't mean it in a rude way" your tone and the way you frame it is antagonistic and condescending. You associate "autistic and gay people music" with low quality and inferior music that only those communities can enjoy. You might as well substitute neurodivergent or gay for a slur and the tone comes across the same.

Worse is when they're like: "Oh can't people have opinions" yes?? You can have opinions? Nobody said you couldn't not like that music. People just said that you shouldn't call people cringe because they listen to a music artist you've only heard 15 seconds of because it went viral

I hate how people will look at popular indie artists who had one or two songs go viral on TikTok and start making fun of anybody who listens to them. "Oh you listen to Lemon Demon, Will Wood, Jack Stauber, Glass Animals, and Mother Mother? Tsk, don't you know that is stupid TikTok neurodivergent white transmasc preteen music?
