Seeing people around my age, maybe a little older or younger, going On and On about how fucking Bad the new pokemon games are (“new” = gens 8 and 9 mostly) makes me get so mad because like. Guys. Do you not remember being ~12 and clowning on people hating on ORAS for having “7.8/10 too much water” and stupid shit like that because the games dared to come out when the reviewers were adults and not kids. Don’t you think it’s extremely convenient that the games that came out when you hit your late teens/early twenties were the same games that were suddenly Irredeemably Bad

#there are exceptions. like bdsp failed to incorporate platinum #unlike how frlg incorporated blue; hgss incorporated crystal; oras… idk if it incorporated emerald but it added so much New Depth #bdsp being beat for beat remakes of diamond and pearl made it an active downgrade from platinum #but also bdsp being Exactly Like Diamond and Pearl meant it was also Exactly As Fun #probably not worth $70 but I got it as a Christmas gift so #I haven’t played any of gen 9 (pokemon games… spensive)#but I’m sure it’s Exactly As Good As Every Other Pokemon Game #it won’t be as Magical as when I was 12 and autistic about it #but it’ll still be fun
