#but also I don't like relating characters to others unnecessarily just cuz they share some similar-ish traits in their designs.

I don't mean to bring up something from a month ago but I just had a thought for what SAMS is doing (you don't have to post if you're not comfortable sharing this also!)
A while back they did the whole Miku thing and made fun of the idea of Sun being suicidal (I mostly just thought it was in really bad taste for them to do, but a lot of people were actually hurt by it!!) but okay, with the way the arc is going right now, if Sun ACTUALLY DOES END UP being suicidal canonically after they blatantly made fun of fans for thinking that way (or if they even just make Sun willfully let himself come to harm to stop Moon) then that'll make me mad, lol. Cuz they'd have made fun of fans for thinking Sun could be suicidal only to turn around and do the exact thing they made fun of them for!!
If it turns out that way, well... they were writing this arc and the Miku episode wasn't THAT long ago all things considered, so they had to know what Sun was going to do in the arc, and yet they'd make fun of fans for it!
I agree with you on this, dear anon.
It'd also upset me.. but it'd upset me if it was with Moon or Eclipse or actually anyone else.. because what was the point in not addressing Sun being suicidal before if they'd do that with someone else.. YouTube guidelines definitely have nothing to do with that..
But. But there's one thing I was wondering about since Davis' post on Twitter (X) which is.. what if they didn't make fun of anyone actually? What if Miku is her own character? What if that episode wasn't supposed to disprove fans' headcanons that Sun is suicidal? But contrary..
Though I need to agree that usage of word "suicide" was unnecessary because ofc they had to censor it because of YouTube.. it made that episode unnecessarily controvertial imo..
What was worse is that Sun said that Miku is projecting her own issues on him.. which is problematic considering what Miku stands for and that most of fans project their own issues on their favourite characters not just Sun but in general..
I'd like to think that it wasn't made in bad faith.. that VAs were badly informed by their closer circle of friends - from Discord - that some Sun's fans wished Sun to be suicidal and those are the same who project their own issues on him..
I'd like to think that they believed some false rumors solely because they don't interact with fans.. Does it make this whole situation right? No. But idk.. maybe I'm dumb and I'm having too much hope in them.. but whatever..
I think that I'm not affected by all of this that much anymore.. ofc this is only me and others can still be affected and upset by this and it's valid..
But I'm trying to focus on what's in front of me.. which means if I see Sun expressing suicidal thoughts or ideations I'm saying it.. I'm trying not to think too much about what will happen.. I mean I already said what I think may happen but I'm trying not to.. idk how to say this.. but I'm trying not to be.. before I was too deep in my own bad thoughts.. so I was simply scared.. but now I feel quite okay with that..
I hope that you understand what I mean, dear anon.
I'd like to think that all of this was because of certain group of people which I won't name for obvious reasons.. if you follow me you may know who I'm talking about and to what situation it relates to..
Maybe I'm really dumb for being so hopeful.. maybe I'm too naive.. but I like giving another chances to others..
But ofc you're right.. if they'll make Sun suicidal - for me he is but I know what you mean by that - it'll come across as distasteful and disingenuous because like you said they mocked fans for thinking that Sun is suicidal at first..
But we can see that they hint more or less obviously that Moon is suicidal and Eclipse as well.. and if they made any of them do that.. I'd be even more angry.. because what? Is it only a problem with Sun? But with others it's not? I find it be in really bad taste to do something like that..
Hence why I think that it's either they'll admit that Sun is suicidal or was, doesn't matter, or they won't make anyone try to kill themselves.. even though they already did that with Moon who tried to destroy the bottle of wine to possibly harm himself.. which truly makes them hypocrites..
But I wouldn't mind them addressing Sun's mental issues properly.. like I said maybe I'm too dumb and too naive but I'd like to give them another chance..
But it's only me.. others have every right to find it distasteful and disingenuous and awful or disgusting even.. because of what they did in that episode with Miku..
I can only speak for myself.
Thank you for speaking up about it though, dear anon cause it is important to talk about it.. to see the hypocrisy and how they mistreated fans..
Have a nice day or night, dear anon 💗
