SUMMARY: your significant other, who has been part of an overblot before, has to witness you going through the exact same thing.

yk after writing this i realize i was absolutely inspired by delicious in dungeon. if you get it you get it.

You’ll have to forgive Cater if he blurts out some stupid slang or a joke as he watches ink consume your body—as he watches you fuse with Grim. The result is a terrifying monster, blue flames shooting out of your very human face, ink pouring out of your eyes and mouth and nose as Grim's claws grow sharper and his legs grow longer.

He’s vaguely aware of Trey trying to get him out of there and Riddle throwing himself into a fight to attempt to disarm you and Grim—whatever you have become. Cater isn’t even sure if you’re separate anymore, but he hears your screams and the echoing growls of Grim, and the blue flames are searing his skin but he isn’t budging.

He shoves Trey off of him and goes running towards you, heart pounding in his chest. He has to save you. He has to help you. His signature spell is activating and he doesn’t even know he’s doing it—he just knows he has to get you back, one way or another.

Jamil knows what’s happening before anybody else. He can see the frustration at being treated the way you are, and he sees the way your hands shake. He tries to reach out but it’s not enough, and maybe it never would have been because he’s too late, and the air is hot with anger and longing for a home neither you nor Grim had.

You become one. He sees it and he can do nothing but watch as you sprout hairy arms and legs, claws tearing through your skin as blue flames shoot out from you. Ink spurts from your eyes and mouth, pouring onto the floor as you howl and wail. He can hear the echoing, pitched remnants of Grim in your voice as you charge, heading straight for the students. Jamil whips out his pen, pointing it in front of him and casting a barrier.

He needs to get everyone else out of here. He can’t be the one to fight you—he can’t do that to you. His ears are ringing and only now is he aware of Kalim rapid firing questions at him but he doesn’t have the time, he grabs Kalim and yells at him to leave, to get the Headmage, to get you help. You can’t die on him. You just can’t.

Rook thinks you’re beautiful. He always will, no matter what state you may find yourself in, no matter what form you may take. That’s part of the reason he stands there in awe, watching as you transform in front of his very eyes. Tears are rolling down his face as you scream out in pain, and his body reacts by running to you but someone is holding him back, his sobs mixing with you and Grim’s howls as you merge in a tornado of inky blackness.

People are screaming, someone is yelling that he needs to get out of there, he falls to his knees as your form—no, the form you’ve taken, writhes and screeches on the ground. It sounds like nails on a chalkboard, it sounds like nightmares, it sounds like pain and suffering and like nothing will ever be okay—

Two backs appear in his vision, a perfectly manicured hand shielding his vision from the sight. Rook looks up, eyes locking with Vil’s. Epel is beside him, pen at the ready. “Can you stand?” Vil asks, and anyone else wouldn’t be able to hear the tenderness in his voice. Rook takes his hand and stands, breathing shakily as he stares at your form, vision blurry but locked onto you—he’s going to save you, no matter what.

Idia’s hands are shaking as you scream. He needs to go to you, to make sure you’re okay but he’s petrified, feet tripping over nothing as he stumbles to your side. He reaches out for you but you shove him away, a sharp NO ripped from your throat. Idia swallows his tears as he whips out his tablet, sending an SOS message to STYX as a familiar black ink splatters to the ground at his feet.

You tried to protect him. It makes him feel so worthless but he gets through it, knowing this must have been how you felt when he overblotted. Why can’t he do anything right? He went through the same thing and he can’t do anything to help you. Isn’t this his family’s business? He should know what to do by now!

He doesn’t leave from that spot, even when people are screaming at him to evacuate, even when STYX arrives to take you away, even when Ortho explains the situation to them because Idia can’t talk. The only thing he manages to say, with eyes glued to the malformed shape you’ve taken, is that he demands to be taken back with you to his home so he can oversee your treatment. He needs you to be better. He doesn’t know what he’d do otherwise.

I think of reader as yuu, but it's not needed to be specified, and NRC doesn't really have volleyball as one of the sports that I know of. so whether it's not a thing in their world or just not at their school, I think it'd be cool to see how the characters react to the reader playing during gym, free time, or for some outside of school club or whatever. it'd be amazing if reader could be a libero, because that's my position, but it doesn't have to be specified

but like, js imagine reader is yuu and so they taught one of the students how to play bc it's not at NRC amd now they play literally whenever they can

Malleus really couldn't understand what about you drew him in. He just couldn't think of a logical answer for why you'd occupy his thoughts even if you weren't even there. Or why he got so eager whenever it was time for the class you two shared.

You were different. You didn't try to avoid him like the plague. You never went out of your way to be overly formal with him. You were well. You.

You acted like he was just any other student, not caring of his title and reputation. You'd actually go out of your way to talk to him.

You never wanted anything out of him, just his time, nothing more. It made him happy. That you would be the one to seek him out. The dragon felt like you were a real friend.

Yet that still wasn't enough for the fae. Malleus still didn't understand why you were just so special enough for him to react to you so differently from everyone else.

He didn't know why his face would burn whenever you'd comment on his magic, or when you'd compliment him on the smallest of things.

He tried to chalk it up to him being happy that you actually liked those things and not just saying it to butter him up but that couldn't be the case.

Because soon he started seeking out your praise as well as wanting to impress you. Doing things extra whenever you were watching just for the chance you'd notice(and admittedly compliment him).

Malleus also couldn't understand why his heart would beat so incredibly fast when you'd smile. Whenever you'd smile it was like a ray of sunshine he could bathe in.

He absolutely loved it. He just couldn't understand why. Wh-

"Mal?" You spoke, looking up at the taller figure. You looked concerned before smiling at his startled expression.

"You were so out of it" You couldn't help but giggle. Your laugh was like heavenly music to his ears. The housewarden cleared his throat

"Sorry about that dear [Name], I was just... thinking" The raven hair finally responded. He tried to calm the way his heart raced when you called out to him.

“Are you sure you're good ? you're all red in the face, I hope you're not sick or anything” you said now a bit concerned. It was just like you to pick up on the blush that was now spreading across his face and ears like a wildfire.

Your eyes narrowed playfully, your grin widening. “So what were you thinking about then, you were so out of it you didn't even comment on my story on how cute grim was actually earlier!”

"I... I’m fine," Malleus finally managed, though his voice came out softer than he intended. Clearing his throat once again, he tried to regain some semblance of composure, though his heart pounded furiously against his chest like crazy.

He opened his mouth to answer, but his mind betrayed him. He wasn’t thinking about anything in particular—just you. The way your smile lit up your entire face, the way you spoke to him like he wasn’t someone to be feared or avoided but just... Malleus. Any other student.

"Reflecting," he said at last, though the word felt hollow compared to the complete truth. "On various matters.

You didn’t seem convinced, and the way your lips curled into a knowing smirk made his pulse quicken.

You placed your hands on your hips. “Oh really” you quizzed dramatically raising an eyebrow.

"I-I assure you, [Name], I was merely lost in thought nothing more" he stammered, trying so hard to seem unbothered . But his voice faltered, betraying his calm facade.

"Lost in thought, huh?" you mused, leaning forward a bit, your gaze softening slightly at how flustered Malleus had become.

"I’m sure there’s more to it than that. You always seem so... distracted whenever I talk to you. It’s honestly really cute."

"C-Cute?" he echoed, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don’t... think I would describe myself as such."

The compliment struck him harder than he liked to admit. His face flushed an even deeper shade of red, and he hastily looked away, it was hard to try and stop the smile tugging at his lips.

It was quite the sight to see.

"Well you don't have to think so," you replied with a wink, your teasing tone shifting into something more genuine ."But “ you continued, moving out of the raven hair’s space a bit.

“I do think it suits you, Mal."

Malleus’ heart thudded loudly in his chest as your words hit him like a truck. He loved any form of praise from you but for the fae this was too much.

His mind was reeling, the words spinning in his head as they tried to make sense of the feelings coursing through him. You thought he was cute. You thought he, Malleus Draconia—was cute. It was something he had never considered before, and yet here you were, saying it so casually, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Well ..thank you child of man” The housewarden mumbled just enough for you to hear. You smiled and nodded at him.

He really couldn't understand why he felt this way about you. What made this human so special? He couldn't understand, perhaps he'd maybe end up asking Lilia about it.

“Well I should head back to my dorm before Grim manages to rip it to shreds…more than it already is” You chuckled at your own comment.

“Yes it is getting rather late into the afternoon… I suppose this is goodbye for now “ He spoke. It always pained him when you eventually had to part ways.

epel: being your chewtoy makes him tough, right. yeah he'll be your chewtoy. wears the title with honour and gets annoyed when others poke fun at him for it. is curious if this is something normal in your world, or if it’s just a you™ thing. 6/10, vil is not happy about this rook: probably has some concerningly accurate model set of your teeth. will frequently offer to let you chew on him, and he's very good at guessing when you need to do some chewing. actively takes care of the areas you enjoy the most. doesn't have a huge reaction unlike some of the others? but clearly enjoys it. 8/10, very satisfying to chew on but the creepiness is constant vil: no. just no. skincare is important and you biting into him is not part of that. he'll get you some good actual chewtoys however, which makes up for it. later gets jealous of the chewtoys and regrets his decision, but his skin… perhaps he could be convinced. occasionally. in private and with you on his lap. perhaps. 5/10 for the shenanigans

sebek: not really sure what to make of this at first, but quickly realises that he's Being Of Service and Good and thus is suddenly very happy with the situation. doesn't really care for the teeth on his skin part, but is otherwise very enthusiastic about the whole thing. 6/10, his skin is a little too firm but he's very cute about it silver: stares when you bite him. it’s a little offputting, but he mostly just wants to commit the sight to memory. is happy you trust him enough to come to him for this. he doesn’t like straying too far from you anyway, but he makes it clear he’s always available for biting time. 7/10, being woken up by true love’s your bite is kind of romantic, isn’t it… lilia: finds this really funny. he doesn't mind though! go ahead and sink your teeth into him. assures you that you can be as rough as you want with him. enjoys playing with your hair and making the whole thing more intimate than need be. no no, he's not teasing you. really! no don't leave, he hasn't had his fill of your teeth yet… nooo, come back! 6/10 once you get past the teasing malleus: recalls that human joke about licking something to claim ownership of it and assumes this is something similar. looks and feels very gloaty for at least the rest of the day every time you do it. he’d never allow anyone else to do this, so you better take full advantage of the situation. he’s not fragile either, so feel free to be rougher if it pleases you. once he gets over the initial euphoria, enjoys the moments of domesticity more than anything else. 4/10, not actually that nice to chew on

- In all honesty, Riddle at first didn't notice that his overblot caused more problems

- However, he did notice the fact you started to cover up your neck, but if he approached you with it, you just shrugged him off with "It's just getting really cold!"

- Gaslight, gaslight, gaslight, that was YOUR idea.

- Was the poor Riddle concerned about you? Absolutely. But was there anything he could do? Not really, he did his best to support you, even sometimes turning a blind eye to the dress code. (He did suffer teasing tho, but he was able to put people into their place)

- The problem sadly only got worse, with each overblot, more scars appeared. More clothes to hide them.

- Eventually, there was nowhere to run, lies ran out, and there was just the pure confrontation.

- It was in that moment, Riddle realized how much you were suffering. In silence.

- From scar around your neck (that you hesitantly chocked out with tears that was from him) to burn mark on your leg.

- He saw it all, and you felt awful. The secret was out, and you wanted to hide. He was never supposed to see.

- Yet he took your hand, held it softly, as if you were made of glass. There was sadness, and warmth in his eyes.

"I wish you told be this earlier. You matter to me. Please, don't hide this from me."

- Ace sadly has a single braincell, which is shared with Deuce. And Grim.

- So, he absolutely did not realize that you got injured, not in the slightest.

- The random aah scarf you were wearing? He easily bought the 'I'm cold' excuse.

- But he noticed, or better said, he found out.

- It was just another boring class, when your sleeve ended up somehow scrolling up, and the nasty suction mark scar from Azul's overblot was perfectly visible on on it.

- You didn't realize until Ace snatched you by wrist, lied to Crewel that you were feeling sick and left the class.

- You were confused, as he was quiet, not saying a single word but dragging you into infirmary.

- He took a bandage, and wrapped it around the mark

- You realized what he noticed, and just as you were about to open your mouth, he hushed you.

"You got hurt because of me. I'm... Sorry. You better tell me if it happens again!!"

"Why should it happen again?"

"We have luck to get involved with overblots..."

- As mentioned, he shares his braincell with Ace, and Grim.

- Unlike Ace, however, he noticed something... odd, about you.

- Ever since Riddle's overblot, you started to wear a scarf... in fall?

- It reminded him of his mother, she also had the tendency to hide things from him.

- So when he asked, he was sad he got a lie as a response from you ("Just cold, don't worry")

- But he was willing to accept it, until the next Overblot with Leona.

- He immediately noticed the way you held your side, trying to stay calm and not show you were in pain.

- The second Leona was dealt with, he grabbed first aid kit, and immediately went to treat the wound.

- He was so shocked, as the wound was of magical property, no matter how the poor model student tried to help, the scars ended up forming - an ugly lion scratch.

- You wanted to cry, currently just from the pain

- Deuce held you close, letting you cry in his arms, not saying a word.

- After a while, you calmed down, and your eyes couldn't help but go to the ugly scar... Hatred slowly forming, not towards Leona, but towards yourself... You got wounded, aga......

"It shows you are brave, please, don't hate yourself over this. Makes you look strong."

- Cater LOVES taking photos, so when a scarf appeared around your neck, he thought it was a weird choice to wear

- "It's really fashionable where I'm from!" It was a lie, but Cater just accepted it

- But he did give you a side eye, each time your hands rubbed the scarf... Which happened suspiciously whenever Riddle was around.

- However, he wasn't stupid unlike the two first years that always got themselves into trouble

- However he thought there was a different reason for the scarf.... (and thought that you and Riddle were an item, oh boy he made so many rambling posts about that)

- Sadly, one day you were way too warm, and the scarf was killing you. So you just loosened it up, just a little bit more...

- And Cay-Cay just had a good (terrible) timing.

- "Come here! Let's take a photo together~ Cay-Cay and Prefect~"

- Snap, snap, snap.... you got dizzy from all the photos and flashes of the camera on his phone.

- Cater was checking the phones, being very picky about which he was going to choose (he wanted the prefect to look absolutely perfectly, because that's what you were to him)

- But then, in one of the photos, he saw it, the scar you were trying to hide. Clear mark from Riddle.

- Cater was shocked, and it made SO much sense. He pulled you close, a small hug, which caused you to be confused

"Why did you hide it?"

"Didn't want to make anyone worried."

- The Heartslabyul dad noticed you, very quickly.

- After dealing with Riddle's overblot, he noticed the next few days you were fidgety, and tried to dodge Riddle.

- The scarf was a big red flag. But any attempt at talking about it was met with you changing topics, or running away

- You would not talk about it. You didn't accept help. (What a headache...)

- So, he decided to help in a... unique way. Sweets. Tarts.

- Oh, he started to make way more, which did not escape Ace and Deuce, who were curious

Within the 'canon' of PTM, Yuu can't actually go back, but more information as to why will come up in the later chapters, so I haven't actually thought about it tbh.

Considering how attached all the characters are to Yuu at this point, it would be absolutely devastating to most of them. Some understand, those who are particularly attached or close with their family, and while sad to see you go are happy for you to finally found your way back to your loved ones. They couldn't imagine their own life without their family, being so close with them, so they understand why you went.

Some are less than understanding, maybe even angry! They can't understand why you'd want to go after all you've gone through with them! Do near-death experiences mean nothing? Does their care for you mean nothing? Why, how could you leave!? It ends up with a bitter goodbye, something that they'd grow up regretting as they remember the last time you spoke, full of anger, tears, and spiteful words.

But Jade? Well, it greatly depends on whether or not a confession has happened yet. If taking place before, then there's a great divide within him to confess and yet not. If he confesses, then you might feel obligated to stay with him. Or not, he's not sure what would feel worse. But there's also the possibility of you resenting him if that were to happen, the pressure to stay taking away your only remaining opportunity to go back.

But personally, I feel like it would be much more devastating if Jade and Yuu were already a couple by this point, and they decided to go back. He spent so long pining after you, with you, knowing just how deeply and intensely he cares for you. How you know him so intimately, not just from your telepathy, but just in your ability to read him in a way no one else really has. It's not like he can even lie to you, you can hear the thoughts in his head, the devastation, the pleading, the sheer feeling of grief washing over you as you leave through the mirror with olive and gold eyes watching your form merge with the mirror. What makes your heart mourn and the tears fall from your face is the blankness in his stare, the lack of feeling other than a soft, polite smile on his face. No one else, except his brother and even Azul perhaps, can tell there's something off about him. The whispers of others commenting on his lack of reaction, their doubt of his affections for you, it only deepens the wound. Perhaps it was foolish of him to open up, to be vulnerable with you, to be someone other than Jade Leech, all to become yours. Now all he's left with is a gap in his heart and an even crueler disposition.

Do you think that twst characters worry about Yuu!Aventurine because of his luck?

Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

Like, have you seen the guy?

But for real tho, he'd absolutely try to weaponize his luck or just use it as like a whim to win games or somehow get himself into dangerous situations that specifically try to harm him or make him lose but in the end would just get out of it unscathed somehow.

While physically he'd be fine, mentally and emotionally? Yeah, that's a whole other story...

A lot of the other guys will be quick to catch onto his self-destructive behaviour and his constant brushing off of their concern or downplaying it that they don't have to worry since he'll always be the victor in the end but it just worries and frustrates them even more.

The most overprotective out of all them would most likely be Grim, Adeuce duo, Jack Howl, the Tweels, Ortho Shroud and Riddle Rosehearts suprisingly.

Grim's a given tbh, I don't think I need to elaborate how he he'd react to that sort of behaviour. Like sure, maybe a bit of enabling at first since he didn't care as much or is oblivious back then because it brought in tons of money and money equals more tuna cans, right? Yeah, well. Little guy's gonna have a rude awakening once he realizes what it took for all those tuna cans lmao

For the Adeuce duo and Jack Howl, it's mostly being constantly of proximity with eachother that makes them aware of Yuu!Aventurine's behaviour and they try their hardest to stop it or get him away from getting noticed by less savoury eyes like: Ace and Deuce beating up any mobs from just instigating fights/duels with him, Jack using the excuse from the Headmaster to be his constant bodyguard and being the voice of reason of him to stop a few gambles that risk to much, etc etc

For the Tweels, while Jade is in it for the entertaing and surprise factor that comes with Yuu!Aventurine going into all types of situations and games and getting to be the winner in all of them, he'd certainly wouldn't want his one source of good entertainment to get eaten by the sharks aroud here so he'd discreetly steer him away from such situations that he isn't certain should be good for a fellow Rainbow Fish like him.

As for Floyd tho, well- he'd absolutely squeeze or manhandle the guy if he isn't cooperating with him like he's supposed to, or maybe like, vaguely threaten his autonomy because he surely doesn't need it when he can't run when he needs too lol

Ortho Shroud would just use facts and logic to reason his way to get Yuu!Aventurine to atleast give up a gamble or just take time for himself to just relax for awhile.

Riddle Rosehearts would also absolutely use his authority as dorm leader to get Yuu!Aventurine to stay over at the Heartslabyul dorm and relinquish his autonomy for a few days because he CLEARLY doesn't know how to live properly and it's in his best interest to teach him the ways to care one's own self correctly and no, he has no say in this- it's final. (Dude's not even part of Heartslabyul tf-)

(I also think Leona would also may or may not threaten turning Ramshackle into sand if he doesn't stop running himself ragged soon...)

So yeah, all in all- it would be a constant worry since it's sort part of Yuu!Aventurine's surface identity and he isn't willing to be vulnerable enough with some of them most of the time so they'd just decide to just discreetly protect him from danger caused by outside factors or by his own ruinous making, rip.

Wanted to let you play with an idea that's been tumbling around in my head for a bit, thought you might do a better job of exploring/making it into a blurb or headcanon.

It would be a Malleus x GN or Fem Reader who would be Yuu/MC (whichever makes you happy)

Reader loves working with pottery/ceramics mostly making teapots and mugs that are themed around the person they are making them for. Maybe making a surprise mug with a dragon or gargoyle inside for Malleus or a teapot that looks/functions like a gargoyle. How would he react/what would his thoughts be?

Malleus X reader - An apology mug!

When you had joined the gargoyle studies club and began using your talent of pottery and craftsmanship, it came rather natural to you when he had taught you to create your own. Most of them would be bigger and more akin to a regular sized gargoyles you see on buildings in order to present them more accurately for the club, but this had given you a grand idea. Making a tiny gargoyle, and merging it into designing a mug (your specialty) for malleus after a little.. "Misunderstanding" for lack thereof better words.

Malleus was only acutely aware of your endeavors and affections for pottery and creating little mugs and teapots, you had briefly showed him a few of your works when you had made an entire set for the heartslabyul dorm. You gifted Trey, Riddle, Cater, Ace, and deuce personalized teapot set that you had spent your free time between classes creating. Malleus noticed as of late you had been commissioned by Azul to produce a decent amount of these little tea sets in order to help boost business in the Monstro lounge.

"You have been working very hard lately, Child of man," Malleus pointed out during a session of creating gargoyles, "Are you sure you are alright? You haven't been overworking yourself? Ashengretto has a tendency to-"

"Malleus," You cut him off, "I am okay! I love my art, I enjoy that people like my teacups, and I'm grateful for the opportunity from Azul. He even paid me rather generously," You pointed out, working your hands on the statue you were occupied with. The tall green eyed fae pouted ever so slightly, unable to share the real reason was in fact the lack thereof time and attention you have been giving him while you were busy making these tea sets for Azul. He would attempt to study with you after classes, yet you have given the excuse that the deadline was coming up shortly. It had gotten to the point in which you were soon canceling days in which you would show up to the club. He was feeling...alone.

Because of this, you noticed the influx of items he would leave on the doorsteps of ramshackle. He enjoyed collecting little rocks and stones and knickknacks he found fascinating to give to you, gifting you necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets...things that you may not normally put on yourself, yet shiny things that seemed rather expensive made its way to you more often now that you were no longer spending time with him. You were aware that Its his biggest love language, yet the extremes he had been going through to try and get your attention has gone rather far.

One particular day whilst you were in the middle of finishing up the task given to you by Azul, a knock upon ramshackles dorm interupted your intent focus. Opening the door, you were greeted by a man hanging upside down and a sly smile upon his features.

"Lilia!" You gasped excitedly, "good! I'm glad you're here!" You quickly invited him in before exiting into a different room, returning with a handful of treasures that Malleus had given you. "Please," You begged, "I can't keep taking all of these things! I understand it's his love language but-" Lilia interrupted your sentence with a hearty laugh, before sitting on the couch and leaning forward, the amusement glinting in his eyes telling you he had something to say.

"Well, I suppose that explains some of his current behavior back at the dorms," Lilia pointed out, "It seems that our prince has been sulking as of late. When I try to probe him, he simply gives me the cold shoulder. My assumption is he misses a certain human," He teased. You furrowed your eyebrows and slumped your shoulders, setting down the items you had carried in gently on the table in the room. You sat next to Lilia and turned to face him with worry in your eyes. He began to explain to you of Malleus' off behavior, how he would become easily irritated when the topic of your duty to Azul came up, or how your absence would be promptly noticed by others who had gotten used to you being by his side. Guilt began to creep up onto you, your heart aching imagining how it must have seem you had brushed Malleus off, and how lonely he must have felt when you had skipped out on activities with him, and how you simply ignoring the amount of items he had piled up for you had probably been seen as another blow to his pride.

"Thank you for telling me, Lilia...I think I have an idea of how I can make it up to him," You chuckled softly, waving the fae goodbye parting ways and returning to your station. You sat down and interlocked your fingers, stretching your back and returning to your work.

A day had passed and neither you nor Grim had shown up to classes. Texts messages sent to you by classmates were left unread, and worry began to fester upon your peers. Ace and Deuce were the most worried, and decided to be brave and ask the one person you were consistently with..... Malleus.

"What do you mean (y/n) did not come to classes?" He had asked with his green eyes wide in shock, "Are they not feeling well?"

"I thought you would know, Malleus," Ace shrugged, "You're always with them. But...maybe we should visit ramshackle ourselves-" Before he could finish making a plan, Malleus had already disappeared in a cloud of green.

He hadn't bothered to knock on the door, instead immediately popping up in the lounge of Ramshackle. He called out your name and walked around a few rooms, until he stumbled upon you sitting in front of your pottery/ceramic station with the door wide open. You were hunched over, your head laying in your arms with your hands littered with clay and paint. Seeing as your back was raising up and down indicating you were breathing and simply sleeping had allowed Malleus to breath out a sigh of relief, a kind smile upon his lips as he gazed upon your sleeping body. He walked towards you slowly, using a hand to gently pat your back in an attempt to gently wake you, when something in particular had caught his attention.

Next to you was a rather large mug, it was a deep forest green and well decorated in contrast with what looked like a black dragon tail that shaped into the handle spiriling around the outside of it (almost as if it was holding onto the mug). He picked it up and began to examine it further, noticing on the inside was a miniature gargoyle standing atop of a small Cornice. The gargoyle was very well detailed despite being so small, it was in the middle of the inside leaving a trench around it for the liquid to still enter the cup and be used as a regular mug. He was enamored with it, his eyes lit up with pure admiration and affection. the paint was sparkling in the reflection of the light, the tail that decorated it looked eerily similar to his own...however he didn't put much thought into it until he looked underneath the mug where he saw a few words.

"To my beloved Fae, Malleus Draconia" The words were small and fit just well enough for the width of the mug, it was obvious it was written by hand using what he could tell was a thin permanent marker. He couldn't stop staring at it. He read those words over and over again with wide eyes that sparkled with joy, finding that he couldn't control the wide grin that followed ear to ear. He read it about 20 times before he heard you begin to rustle around, before you groaned out of your sleepy state. Your eyes began to open slowly before gasping in shock seeing Malleus there, your eyes wandering to the mug he was now holding in his hand.

"No!" You gasped, "Nooo, Malleus! That was supposed to be a surprise for you-" He ignored your exasperated comments and engulfed you in a hug. He sat the mug down on the table and lifted you up with ease, nuzzling his head into the crook of your shoulder with his grip around your body so tight it felt as if he was afraid of you escaping. You let out a little "Augh!" Before slapping gently on his back, "M-malleus- can't- breath-" You choked out. Hearing your plea he loosened his grip however still did not let you go. 'Well', you thought, 'he already saw it, so... ' You gently hugged him back, holding that pose for what seemed almost like an eternity.

"Thank you, (Y/N)," He finally broke the silence, "I shall treasure it forever, trust me when I say no harm shall ever come its way," Malleus smiled down at you. Those were the words he had said, however his mind was running wild. He had always been the one to give and give, yet he never thought anyone would gift him the same. Words of affection bursted in his mind, baffled by this humans kindness. You. You gave him this kindness, and he couldn't be any happier than this moment. He felt so alone for so long, however you had opened doors to him that nobody else gave him the chance to walk through. You invited him to things, you treated him as a normal student, you had been there for him in ways he never thought he would have the pleasure of experiencing. And now, his precious favorite human had given him a treasure. A normal mug to you and others, perhaps, but a treasure you had made by your own hands with Malleus in mind. His heart was warmer than it had ever been before, no amount of words could he express the gratitude he had for this moment. Suddenly he forgot his woes, and all he could see in his line of sight was you, no longer the feeling of jealousy and sadness he felt the past week you were occupied. You gave a little giggle back and replied,

"Even if it breaks, I will re-make it for you in a heartbeat. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, this I guess is my apology...I'm done with Azuls set, so now I have plenty of free time to commit to gargoyle studies club-" Malleus started with surprise in his voice.

"Did you think I was upset you were not attending club sessions? Silly human, simply being by your side is enough for me." Your cheeks lit up a light shade of pink, turning your gaze back to the mug trying to change the subject out of embarrassment.

"A-anyway..." You walked over to the table gesturing towards the mug, "I had some left over of this magic paint that Azul gave to me," You said, "The gargoyle seems black, but if you fill it with liquid it glows a bright green," You smiled, "Want to test it out?" Malleus could not hold back his excitement, you chuckled at the thought that you could practically see his tail wagging behind him as the tall Fae replied with graceful enthusiasm and a hand tenderly holding onto his newfound treasure,

"I would love to."

Riddle – obviously, he isn’t surprised, in fact ,he is almost offended that it’s presented like it’s a big and shocking thing. This is just the right thing to do to him – why would anyone want to masturbate or watch porn anyway? Why would anyone desire physical intimacy until marriage? Sounds highly inappropriate to him! I feel like Riddle would probably get shocked if he heard that his potential partner does masturbate or watch porn… especially if it’s someone he has some respect for, like Trey, for example.

Ace – “Yeah, right! … Wait, for real?” type of reaction lol I feel like he is someone who would instantly start asking a lot of questions, trying to figure out why wouldn’t someone who doesn’t lack sexual attraction watch porn or jerk off. He would instantly start teasing, egging his partner on; if he is feeling especially douchey, he might even tell everyone about it. Is it because he himself watches so much porn that this is the only way he can process not wanting to watch it? Maybe. Anyway, he broke Deuce’s “no watching porn and no jerking off” streak once like this. If it’s serious though, he might accept it after a certain point. Not with Deuce though, he can’t let Deuce feel like he’s better than him…

Riddle Rosehearts

Mans really related to you. Not only was he underestimated because he was young, he was also made fun of because he was short. The two of you actually got along that way, as well as you understanding the importance of listening to the Queen and her different rules. Plus, you both had a sweet tooth.

You both could honestly talk for hours and hours about the pressure that was being put on your shoulders constantly. You won obviously, since not only were your parents dead but you made a deal with a demon to help you get revenge. On top of that, you had to run a toy manufacturing company.

When he overblotted, he was trying very hard to reel himself back from hurting you since he looked at you as a sibling. However, you seemed to have a pretty confident attitude, as you had a chair placed right in front of him for you to sit at. Then you yelled, “SEBASTIAN”.

Riddle was confused, until a sudden force kicked him in the stomach. The figure was too fast for him to track, and he was defeated in a matter of a few moments. As he was fading out of consciousness, he finally got a look and saw the figure (who acted as your butler, bowing down to you) that you had told him about.

In the infirmary, you waited by his side for him to recover. It was both sentimental and not, since you were worried and saddened that he came to such a state but you didn’t jump around in joy when he woke up. You did prepare some tea for him, though.

Leona Kingscholar

You both found each other absolutely insufferable. He often teased you and poked fun at you for being both young and short, and walking around with a cane acting as if you own the place. The big lion often did this just to make you angry, like an older brother.

What made it worse is that he never apologized. Whenever you were offended, he would say that you need to ‘grow up’ and you often tell him that you’re more grown up than he would ever be because you actually own an empire (the toy business) while he doesn’t. Screaming matches happen very often.

When he overblotted, you planned on making him regret ever making fun of you. You shouted the name of your butler and ordered Sebastian to fight him but make sure that he remained alive. It didn’t take long, as this kind of thing fell into the demon’s repertoire.

As Leona was laying on the ground in pain and fading out of consciousness, you went up next to him and asked Who’s laughing now? He has never wanted to throw hands (paws?) with you more than ever, but he was too weak.

The thing is, neither of you have apologized yet. There was no need, as you sat next to his bed in the infirmary worried about him. You both came to an understanding where your rivalry came to a stand-still, as there was a newfound respect that the two of you discovered. 

Azul Ashengrotto

Both of you understood each other from an entrepreneur point-of-view. He ran the Mostro Lounge, you ran Funtom Corporations. However, you were a child. He couldn’t imagine the struggle you went through with trying to run a full business, as he had Crowley’s support and you didn’t.

One thing he was rather jealous of was that you could keep all of the money you earned, and since you were part of the high society you had more business deals and more influence. In addition to that, you were one of the sponsors for the Spelldrive Tournament. This meant that you were his superior.

When Azul overblotted, you were rather annoyed with all of the other overblots. You didn’t really like having to employ Sebastian’s help, but it was his job. After a few moments, the demon butler was standing over an exhausted cecaelia in the ocean before making sure that you were alright.

It was very sad to see such talent be overtaken by selfishness and greed, but oh well. Sure, he was a dear friend, but he was also a competitor when it came to business. It wasn’t personal at all, and he actually didn’t take it that way.

After he recovered, your business-people relationship continued. Since you had multiple shops open, you gave him advice about branching out to different areas. The Lounge is marine-life themed, so it would be better to place more restaurants on land so that people get a feel and a love for the aesthetic. That, in turn, would also boost the economy of the Coral Sea with tourism.

Kalim Al-Asim

It’s the Twisted Wonderland version of Lizzie, and you can’t tell me otherwise. He’s definitely the same sunshine-and-rainbows person that Elizabeth was in the show. However, it wasn’t the annoying version but rather the sweet part of it all.

You both were very wealthy, and your products were often on the ships of his merchant family members. Some of his siblings had the toys that your company produced. So, you had a long family history along with a long history of partnerships. But, the two of you were friends as well.

When Jamil overblotted, the last thing that Kalim had expected you to do was summon a demon. But you just sat yourself down and watched the battle unravel. The Scarabia Housewarden was very worried about his friend as he knew that he stood no chance against your hell of a butler.

Even the young Al-Asim had trouble keeping track of Sebastian’s movements. It came as a surprise to no one when the Vice Housewarden was lying on the ground completely exhausted from even trying to keep up with the demon butler’s attacks.

After all of this, Kalim’s view of you hasn’t changed. You might be a little more calculating and even maniacal than he originally thought, but you were still his friend. It didn’t matter that you had a very strange employee working for you at the price of your soul, because you were still a person.

Vil Schoenheit

I would say that you both were friendly and cordial in a passive-aggressive way, just like siblings. You both had your own spotlights, him being an actor and you being the owner of a multi-million dollar business. The two of you tried to be more humble in the public eye, and the rivalry got so bad that Neige wasn’t even relevant anymore.

You were wealthier than he was, but he was more famous. What really shoved money in his face was when you donated a large sum of money so that the movie he was casted in could continue filming with ease. Mans was so angry, but he hid it with a smile.

When he overblotted, you were very happy to bring out your secret weapon. After all, some people just needed to be put in their place, especially after disrespecting the Phantomhive name. So, Sebastian was summoned and he dealt with the overblot for you.

It wasn’t until Vil was on the ground utterly drained of energy that you really got a good look at him, and he you. Maybe it was time to put the rivalry to rest, as it caused much more stress than necessary. You accompanied him as he was taken to the infirmary.

While you were there sitting at his bedside, he took that time to learn more about you and your life. It was shocking to him that you not only lost your parents, but also your aunt that had to die because she was one of the people who was Jack the Ripper. He underestimated your maturity by a lot.

Idia Shroud

You reminded him of the character from My Parents Perished In a Terrible Fire and I Made a Deal With a Demon to Help Exact My Revenge. That aside, he understood you perfectly because he was going to be the heir to his family’s business. Only difference is that you were focused on selling toys while he was focused on studying overblots.

Honestly, as much as you would have liked to, there was no way that your businesses could have synced up aside from you having information that he might need through connections that you have or vice versa. It is rather unfortunate, but it’s all good.

When he overblotted, he wasn’t aware of the butler you had a contract with as you liked to keep it a secret. So, Idia really stood no chance against the demon. It did make you rather sad, as you looked up to him as a sort of older brother figure.

Now, you had to offer some comfort to Ortho that Idia would be alright because as shy as the older Shroud was, he was strong and determined. It didn’t do much, but as he woke up in the infirmary he heard you both talking and it warmed his heart to see that his siblings were concerned for him.

As you both stayed with him while he recovered, you all got to learn about each other a bit more. He understood you more than he originally thought, what with losing his brother but a replica was made of him. Sebastian was making sure that Idia was getting to a healthier state, and you have never been grateful for you butler until now.

Malleus Draconia

He was very worried for you as another magicless human at NRC, and not just that but you also had a respiratory problem and walked with a cane. This guy already saw you as another member of his family, so he wanted to make sure that you were alright.

Malleus found you and your butler quite interesting, as you were able to run an entire company at a young age and Sebastian was a big help with that. The fae Prince knew better than to underestimate your abilities, though, as age doesn’t correlate with cognitive capability.

One thing he has seen though is you dealing with the overblots. You often perched yourself on a chair/throne of some sort as you summoned your demon butler, and the latter always seemed eager to do your bidding. It wasn’t until later that you explained you promised him your soul as compensation.

Again, he already sees you as a member of his family. You are the sibling he never had, and Lilia finds your relationship adorable. I think it comes from a place of easily relating to one another, as you both do not have your parents but some distant relative that is still around, as well as being expected to inherit something at a young age (you actually having inherited it).

You can not tell me that you don’t always extend an invitation to him whenever you’re invited to any sort of event. You even host many events at your manor during the holidays for those who aren’t going home, and Malleus always makes an attempt to attend

A/N : continuation of this and this, hope you liked the first part because I'm on an absolute roll. To all those waiting for a continuation of many of my series, I am so sorry. I'm serious guys pls forgive me I know it's been a really long time since and I still need to finish other requests I started.

Context : Rollo gets transferred to NRC for a few months, The Headmaster decides that he would be staying at Ramshackle Dorm much to Malleus' dismay (along with grim and the first years who are aware of the truth). Yuu doesn't find it nice either but with time they allow the third year to open up to them, eventually growing mutual respect for one another, perhaps some friendship..and a bit more.

Warning(s) : fluff, mostly crack, hints of rollo liking Yuu, this is a continuation of some sort to my joke so pls understand that it isn't from the beginning, Rollo might be OOC he's just scared of Yuu, they/them pronouns for Prefect, the first years who weren't present in glorious masquerade find out and try to push rollo away. (it doesn't work) is this stolen from peter rabbit ? Yes. Most. but not all of it.

The story starts...now ?

Something suspicious was stirring around the 'relationship' between Yuu and the strange newcomer. At least it looked like it to their close friends who were already bitter about the idea of that religious trauma-induced student coming but even more so when that horrible influence hung around their prefect.

It wasn't as if they didn't trust Yuu, they didn't trust him ! He was being all close with their mom friend pal, knowing what he did, they weren't going to stand around and do nothing. They're gonna do something about it, about him.

It all began the day the Adeuce duo and Epel witnessed Yuu casually speaking with grey haired priest and HE WAS SMILING?! OH HELL NAH GET YOUR EYEBALLS OFF OF THEM- but truly they misunderstood, for now at least, since most of the resident's interactions regarded around Yuu, threatening Flamm..Of ripping his guts out.

"Ace, Deuce!" Grim shouted through the halls as he ran towards them, the both of them turned around to see the raccoon panting and wheezing from his sprint. "Hey there Grim- Woah what was that?~ You trynna imitate being a cheetah now?" Ace teased, his remark making the fire cat retort with a 'hey!' before Deuce stepped in to ask the obvious question. "What's wrong?" forgetting his comeback, Grim immediately switched back to panic mode.

"My Henchman! A-A-And that weird suspicious dude! They're SPENDING TIME TOGETHER AND BEING ALL WEIRD MUSHY LOOKING!" He exclaimed, his revelation shocking the two freshmen who's eyes widened in horror. "What- How?! Didn't prefect say they hated that guy?" Ace sputtered as he tried making sense of the situation, he was a bit confused as to why he was reacting this way but with the amount of braincells left he couldn't care anymore.

"That's what I thought! But this morning I found them- laughing and talking to each other!" he added more fuel to the fire, ace and deuce exchanged concerned glances and spoke in unison. "We gotta get the others."

"Yes !" Grim smiled as he threw a fist in the air. It took a good second for him to realize they didn't say what he thought they would.

"...Wait what- AH!" But he didn't have time to argue as they grabbed him by the neck and made their way to find the others.

Passing through Savannaclaw, Pomefiore and Diasomnia almost felt like an eternity to fetch Jack, Epel and Sebek. Especially the half-fae as he was persistent on the idea of staying by his future king's side during the entire duration of Rollo's stay. After sharing the news, they all bolted to Ramshackle dorm, and there they saw it.

Yuu was having a conversation with the same young man that dropped them down a trap door when they came around for a celebration. The same young man who tried to erase magic forever. And they were speaking like they've been friends for years.

The group of first years were hiding behind a tree, in between the gates of the not-so-abandoned dorm. All of their heads comically poking out to take a peek at the flabbergasting sight. "That's a lot of smiling." Epel commented as he watched the prefect supposedly laugh at something Rollo said. (They weren't, they quite literally started to laugh because of Rollo's genuinely terrified face) "More than before even." he continued, Ace added on with another remark, "They're showing a lot of teeth."

Then, Jack made a very bold statement which earned collective noises of disgust from the rest of the team. "Do you think they like him?" Sebek's face morphed into horror, Grim started gagging, Deuce looked like he was going through fifty existential crisis all at the same time, meanwhile Ace was debating on what he should express. Either way they were all mortified.

"They don't like him, they're just being nice! Yuu is nice all the time, they always smile at us!" the grey monster retorted, denying any further supposition. "Well..not like that." They flipped their heads towards the pair, and Yuu's hand rested on Rollo's shoulder as he chuckled nervously.

"Could you imagine? You trying to take over the world again? What a joke ! I would bury you alive honestly!" the non-magic student exclaimed as they broke into another loud laughter. Rollo could only nod along a little offended but mostly nervous, "Right yes no that would- that won't ever happen." The Rains Have Ceased (Riddle, Cater, and Idia x Yuu)

You have been having strange dreams lately. Every time you go to sleep you se the same set of flashing images, a carriage ride, a crumbling castle under a ink stained sky, ending in the jaws of a monster. The pain you feel from the flames makes you wonder, on nights when you are alone in Ramshackle with Grim, if those dreams are less fiction and more of a memory.

You are not the only one who has those dreams. There's another, laying awake in his bed, hand clutched tightly over his frantically beating heart trying desperately to hold the fraying edges of his sanity together. How many times has he done this? How many times has he tried to hold onto the last fleeting traces of warmth in you with his cold, unworthy hands.

Again. He loves you, that is the one thing that refuses to change no matter how many times the world is reset. He loves you, he has no choice but to try again.

Riddle

He handles things extremely poorly when there is no guide book or rules he can follow. If it is made clear to him that there is no way of saving Yuu, that cosmic law has decreed they die, then he has no real choice but to let them... unless there is some way to take their place. Riddle is determined to be the very best at everything, and he is a bit of a brat when it comes to things that make him angry, but he becomes desperate help his friends when they find themselves in situations he feels that he has caused. He can accept that there is no way for you to be together, the chances of that were admittedly already pretty slim; you are from a different world and his mother almost certainly has plans for him he would find difficult to ignore. What he cannot accept there is no chance for you to live, he'd even be content to watch you fall in love with someone else just please, please live. He cannot bring himself to confess to anyone what it is he is trying to do, Trey would absolutely try to stop him, Ace and Deuce wouldn't accept your fate, and he doesn't know how Cater would react. He satisfies himself with telling you he loves you every time he dies in your place, whether it is in your arms or not.

Cater

TBH he is not really someone you can rely on in this situation bestie. Not because he doesn't love you, he's past denying that, but because Cater already doesn't want to dwell on what things could have been. His dorm uniform has a voice line lamenting you aren't in Heartsabyul but brushing it off because there just isn't any use in wishing for things. With each reset he spirals further and further, it gets harder for him to keep his mask in place. Why do you keep dying if he isn't going out of his way to save you? And why can't he stop caring about you? Is it because in spite of everything he still loves you? Cater is actually pretty good at dealing with people and making plans, he could maybe keep you alive a little bit longer if he helped. He eventually lets that thought slip to Lilia, who believes him purely based on the fact it's him saying it. Lilia does his best to help, picking Cater's mind for observations of each loop and trying to make a plan. He wonders if he is even worthy of you if he cannot make a plan to save you, if you will hate him if you realize how passive he has been. No matter how many times Lilia points out that you have loved him in every life time, or that he can say he has been passive all he likes but he has been going out of his way to watch over you from the shadows, Cater refuses to accept that he is just as faultless in this as you. His smile and optimism are determined to stay gone.

Idia

So. The last time someone in his life died in front of him he turned them into a robot. While you were dying in front of him the thought of making a new Yuu did cross his mind, he almost had a stroke from how pleased he was when he woke up before orientation for a second go with all his memories in tact. Ortho is brought into the loop immediately, as is Styx. Ortho is probably the one who suggests kidnapping you before Crowley can bring you back into the mirror chamber and keeping you safe... somewhere. Maybe he takes you back to Styx, maybe he just keeps you in Ignihyde with a robot child soldier guarding you at all times. He doesn't care if you hate him, well that's not true. Riddle: It's not uncommon for the Adeuce duo to cause trouble and they often get injured because of that. So, once again they pissed off Riddle which caused him to blow up. But, before he can collar them, they started running, causing Riddle to run after them. That ended up Ace and Deuce falling over a rose bush and getting nasty gashes. News reached your ears eventually and you being you decided to make their pain yours instead. Riddle didn't like that, not at all. Why should you suffer because of those troublemakers? One part of him was furious and the other part of him was awestruck. He thinks you are an angel in disguise. Sure, a bit stupid and reckless but nonetheless a very pure soul.

Leona: Okay yeah, spelldrive is not something for weak ass people. People get hurt left and right here. He didn't take it nicely when you took it upon yourself to cure their injuries. For the sevens' sake, (Y/N), they are random strangers! Not to mention many of taunted or threatened you in the past. They sure as hell don't deserve your kindness. You are so stupid, (Y/N). Let them suffer. Why waste your life after some brats? Deep down, he is proud. You sure will be the perfect queen of the Sunset Savannah, won't you? Azul: Now, Octavinelle guys don't really get injured. The thing is that it was Azul himself who got hurt during one of those idiotic flying classes. Sure, he went to the nurse and all but human medicines take a long time to work on him. That's why you took it upon yourself. You couldn't see the boy suffering. To be honest, Azul is flabbergasted. He just isn't used that much kindness. Ironically, his first thought was that maybe you want to make a deal, but his thoughts were crushed soon enough. He is grateful, proud, super happy and worried for you. Don't worry, (Y/N), he will come up with something that will ease your pain soon enough.

Kalim: Just like Riddle he thinks you are an angel. Kalim is a happy soul. He wanted to play trust fall with Jamil. But, Jamil was a second too late to catch up, which made the other boy fall and hurt his back badly. Now, Kalim is the last one you want to see in pain. So, you healed him. Kalim is extremely grateful of course. But, he isn't pleased that you are taking the fall. He feels really guilty. But no need to worry! This time, he will save his knight in shining armor!

Vil: It's hard to say how he got such cuts. He suspected that it happened during one of his modeling shows. It wasn't anything serious. But, a cut on his face made him wanna scream and throw things. He was upset and you hated seeing him upset. So, you did what you had to do. He is shocked, horrified even. Why?! Why would you ruin your pretty face like that?! Yes, okay, he is extremely thankful, but he is absolutely not happy with what happened to you. He will definitely brew up a special potion just for you.

Idia: Now, you may think the Ignihyde guys don't get hurt much. But, they do! They are always experimenting or building new things, so these guys get injured often too. Just nobody is very aware of that because they don't come out of their dorms often. But, it's not only that. When they actually go out, they get bullied. Even if they try to threaten the bullies in order to get away, they still get injured pretty bad.

"Idia, I told you that you should teach these guys some basic defense tricks or something."

"Yeah, sure (Y/N) nobody takes them seriously. Today they tried to threaten the bullies."

"And?"

"They thought these guys are tech support."

More or less, Idia thinks you are pretty cool for a normie. But, what you do? Yeah no, thank you very much. Even if he had that kind of magic he would never do what you are doing. He thinks you are too kind for your own good and he KNOWS people easily take advantage of you because of that. Yes, you are cool and kind but, he thinks he thinks sometimes you should think about yourself too.

Malleus: You don't know how grateful he is when you healed Silver and Sebek after they got injured. But, that's that. The very second he was worried sick for you. He couldn't bear seeing you in pain. Child of man, you are noble, you are an angel for what you did but it breaks his heart to see you in such condition. You have his respect, (Y/N). To him, you are no less than a goddess.
