Okami is a good game because, despite my best instincts, the fact that there was so much of the game's map not explored, and the fact i didn't have all brush techniques, on my first playthrough the game managed to fool me TWICE into believing the game was about to end and I was at the final boss just with atmosphere, build up to the current ark's antagonist and story telling alone
#orochi and ninetails were that cool as bosses#NINETAILS ESPECIALLY since she could copy and counter your brush techiniques with her own#but Orochi was also awesome especially if you paid attention to the intro of the game#since all the folklore about it and the story of how the original amaterasu defeated him were secretly hints for the fight
