Whumptober 2024 Day 28: denial
TW: Murder, loss of lovedone, blood, death
Loosing you
“No! No…No…Nononono! Please, No” Delora fell to her knees next to Beller. They couldn‘t leave her. They had no right to leave her. Not now.
Delora reaches for their cheek, softly touching. “Please, Bell” Beller's breathing was rigged, a little as if they were drowning, just that there was no water choking them. There was a good chance that it was blood, though. That there was blood in their lungs or their throat. It wouldn't be surprising, blood seemed to be all over Beller.
Not that that was of any interest to Delora, she just feared and hoped. Held onto the hope that there was some way Bellar would live. Would stay with her.
They were dying, but that was not what Delora observed, not anymore. Not since the moment she had seen them fall over.
Their screen seemed stuck in her head, running on repeat, drawing out most of the things happening.
Delora's eyes were less fixated on the body and more on the face of the person, she loved more than anything.
Her hand had found it placed on the back of Beller's head now.  Face so close to theirs that she could taste the busts of breath, leaving their mouth.
“You're OK. I get you help.” She whispered. Promising something she needed to believe possible. Even if there was only a small chance for it to be.  Because if it wasn't than that would be unbearable to her.
Delora tries to remember what little first aid knowledge she had. Should she turn Beller on the side?
Make sure that there was nothing stuck in his thought?
The fact that they were covered in blood, started to creep in on  the corners of her perceptions.
Still, she couldn’t just give up on them. There wasn‘t much left, that she loved, but Beller was certainly one of these things, and she would hold on to them, like her life depended on it.
She should probably get help. From where and how, though she had no idea. They had been alone in the ally, apart from the person that had attacked Beller, who had already left.
Delora didn’t want to leave them behind, though.
She should probably put pressure on the wound, wasn’t that what you were supposed to do, when someone was bleeding?
Delora took her hands off Beller’s head to press them on his chest. Pressing down to make sure he wasn’t dying, leaned onto the wound to put enough pressure on it.
Delora did that for a while, she wasn’t sure how long. It didn’t seam to help, tough.
She became more and more aware, that she needed to get someone to help, this wouldn’t keep them around, she needed to get up and get someone.
“I need to leave you for a bit” she whispered to them putting one of her hands on their cheek again, “I’m coming back, Ij’m just getting help” She touches his for head softly before getting up and running in the direction of the next lively street.
