Ok so christmas season is almost over here in Spain & I missed you all!!

My mini diary post: today is basically Christmas, and we just had the Cabalgata de Los Reyes Magos (the Three Wise Men Parade). The Reyes are basically the Santa of Spain but cooler tbh. Kids aren’t actually allowed to talk to their favorite king, but the week before they can talk to the enbassador/secretary for the kings, el príncipe Aliatar (the kings are way too busy for anything like that).

The parade goes through the whole city, and there are groups of embassadors from every country in the world (Egypt, Ancient Rome, England, China etc etc etc), a nativity float with baby Jesus, and lots and lots of dancing, camels, and bagpipe bands (ok the bagpipes are only where I live😆😆).

I just love going to the parade so much bc for the kids, it’s genuinely like they’re seeing celebrities (but cooler than celebrities let’s be honest) & I just love the magic of believing in all of that🥹🥹🥹 plus of COURSE I need to cheer for my favorite king, Melchor (he’s the one who brings the gold…an obvious choice😇)
