I legit caused someone to have a depressed existential crisis over their ship “never being canon” and a) I didn’t know they were shipping ANYTHING and b) they claimed a canon ship wasn’t canon so I presented the evidence.

Then it spun into them freaking the fuck out cos turns out, their 3 years in the fandom didn’t prepare them for the 8 - 12 years of history to the contrary, which included direct literal Words of God from the lore writer who so heavily shipped the canon couple that he reduced voice lines for other characters (including the one the depresso is shipping) to give more budget to the shipping lines.

Like I’m sorry but if you weren’t THAT into the fandom to know this shit, I dunno what to tell you.

Plus it’s not like I even deny that the ship they like prolly banged! They’re immortals! They banged! But it’s canon that one of them is heavily intrigued by the mortal that is thwarting them and it’s even stated by Word of God that they are lovers while also trying to kill each other. Aforementioned mortal also uses euphemisms to refer to the immortal’s cooch in-game. The Spanish dub flatout has him state they’re sleeping together, no euphemisms.

Like it’s one thing to like a ship, but the moment you hope for it to be canon or think it’s canon, do your damn research and don’t cry when the findings don’t support the hypothesis.
