shadow revival fic where shadow gets revived by dink to help him out, but betrays dink and dink is about to kill him in some way (breaking his power source/mirror? idk) right in front of four/the other links when four gets himself out of someone's (Wars? Time? Twi?) protective grip (they grabbed him/pushed him back because holy shit that's his shadow, his safety has to be priority numero uno) and barrels straight into shadow, shoving them both out of the way and tumbling on the floor. while the other links are taking care of dink, four is clutching shadow like he'll disappear if he loosens up, burying his face into shadow's chest, rocking back and forth and muttering "no, no, no, please, stay this time, you have to stay, you can't leave, you can't leave me again, please don't leave, just stay, stay with me" or something along those lines and shadow's quietly panicking because holy shit it's rainbow and he's having a panic attack/ptsd from the last time i died in his arms whoops but he's trying to reassure him/snap him out of it

anyway. i have Thoughts often. i think they're pretty silly little guys.

Had John disconnected him? He knew John’s sense of humor wasn’t the lightest, especially after Newcastle drove them all a bit insane, but that felt too far even for him. Nah, he’d probably just gotten himself a bit lost in the wave of energy he’d experienced in the Tongues of Fire network and was accidentally looking for his body in the wrong spot.

He pulled himself back and let his mental connection to the digital world expand outward, probing the rest of the machine for the connection. He knew he was in the right system, so as long as he looked thoroughly he’d definitely fi—

Everything flashed a surge of blinding white and then was replaced by pure darkness. He thought he screamed, but he couldn’t hear his own voice. Couldn’t even feel his own thoughts. Trapped in one single instant that stretched for indeterminable eons. Then, eventually (or was it immediately?), awareness began to trickle back.

He was still in the computer, though it felt… different, somehow. His thoughts still weren’t entirely in order. The first possible hints towards his location he found were the sound voices trickling through from the outside world. Voices he didn’t recognize. Young voices.

“I’m happy to help, Tuck, but I’m not really sure what you expect me to do here. You’re way better than me at this computer stuff than me.”

“By all means, feel free to keep complimenting me, but this has been frying my brain, man. I got this thing secondhand, and the system should be quite powerful, but there’s something using up a ton of its processing and I can’t figure out what. i know that luigi isn't insanely codependent on mario. he can do things on his own and is a perfectly functional guy without him, obviously.

but, boy howdy. in situations/certain fanworks when he IS codependent to mario, it hits so good. when he's so clingy that it makes him crazy when mario leaves him alone. the drama of it all. sorry that i love when he's a whimpering and pathetic lil baby
