that being said, wept reading the comments on TAS, i'm so so thankful y'all are vibing with it because i was NERVOUS about posting my first ever modern au and i wanted to make sure it still felt true to the characters but everyone's been so unbelievably kind i'm so wahhahhhh :')) i appreciate the sweet words SO so much, it's so reassuring and so motivating <33

so motivating actually that i'm already halfway done ch2... whoops? litch rally buzzing with how excited i am to write, i don't think i've ever experienced this which sounds strange but like. okay hold i can already tell i'm gonna go on a tangent so let me cut myself off with a read more lmaoo

idk, does anyone else ever sometimes feel like even though obviously we all write fic for enjoyment because we do it for free, sometimes it feels like a chore? not in the sense that i feel obligated to write, but just that even though i feel passionately about what i want to write, it's just hard to get my brain into gear (adhd aside) even when i really want to. i'm just thinking out loudddd now but my concerta just kicked in so it's inevitable LOL word vomit and thought processing is apparently a necessary part of my writing process smh

writing yad(iym) has honestly been so helpful with this because one of the biggest things that i struggle with when writing is that i have a super vivid imagination and can picture exactly what i want to portray/convey, but sometimes i don't know how to get there, but with the dog coded fic i have the timeline of the actual show to follow, so it takes a lot of pressure off in that sense! it's sorta like filling in the gaps because i have something base level to work with.

but 99% of the time when writing, i don't have that, so i end up avoiding my docs often because i feel stuck in terms of progressing the storyline, and my writing process drags on so longgg. i'm finding too now that i'm writing my first (and second oops) actual long fic that oneshots are actually more difficult for me to finish for some reason despite most of mine being shorter than a singular chapter in my fics, which is funny because i was so terrified of commitment starting a chaptered fic but i've ended up being more consistent.

anyway point is, i adore writing yad(iym) and it's been the most fun experience i've had fic writing, but now that i've sorted out the world building aspects for tough and sweet, everything is just flowing and instead of having to sit myself down at my desk and kinda just force myself into the zone, i cannot drag myself out of my docs?? and i've never had that happen but i'm definitely trying to take advantage of it while it lasts and get as much written as possible!

i think it also helps that it's so lighthearted compared to the angst of yadiym (tho i've got some angst planned for tas too lol sry) so i don't have to think as much about the weight behind certain dialogue, or carefully plan out the progression of the relationship dynamic the way the time period/setting of yadiym requires. it's a nice breather from the constraints of the mota–verse (as much as it's still my favourite thing to read/write with these boys), but i also enjoy getting to sink back into that doc when i want something deeper than the little biker boys.

i'm still very much working away on yadiym tho to be clear!! i was scared to start tas before i finished it in case i hyperfixated on tas and my updates got slow on yadiym, but it's genuinely helped me find a balance because i'm always working on one if i'm not working on the other <3 i'm about half done ch6 too for yadiym (how many times can i type that in one post jfc), i'm just at an internal emotions heavy part which i Hate. writing lmaooo give me dialogue or smut and i can type away for hrs but introspection?? internal conflict? hell

technically the latest fic I had posted when I reblogged this was Scars and Stitches BUT right before that I posted What Are You Waiting For? which is FAR more interesting to me SO I'm answering for that one because rules are fake and I feel like it.

5. How do you decide how long your fics/chapters will be? Do you have a word count goal?

Ha. Ha! I don't decide anything. Do you all think I'm out here deciding that my next update for Know Yourself should be 18k words?? Of course not.

Here's how it goes: I tell any given chapter what I think should happen. The chapter says "hmmmm, maybe. We'll see." Then I beg the chapter to please please please please please not be over 10k words. It gives me a smile like it thinks I'm adorable for even asking when we both damn well know that the chapter will do whatever it wants, and what I want has nothing to do with it. And then either the chapter takes mercy on me (like it did in this fic) or it Does Not (like it is doing in Know Yourself).

7. What part of this fic/chapter was the most fun to write? 

Honestly, the whole first chapter. There's just something about the way it flows that I feel so good about 💚

8. Which line/paragraph are you most proud of? Why are you proud of this? 

But the strangest thing is how everyone believes Jason anyways. Just like that.  Then again, Dick is backing him up, so of course they believe him. Everyone believes Goldie, all of the time. He just flashes that gorgeous smile like a fucking master key, and Jason’s always been a tiny bit jealous that everyone else turned out so goddamn endearing.  Not that being intimidating doesn’t have its uses, but sometimes he can’t ignore how much easier certain things would be if his edges were just a little less sharp.

This whole section. I think it's just that this is one of those thoughts that Jason keeps to himself, even though he thinks it fairly often. It captures a part of Jason I rarely see represented, which is how he came back different and he feels different from the rest of the bats in a lot of ways that strain his relationship with them. (Also, I feel like this reads in his voice really well which is something I sometimes have a hard time feeling like I nailed.

15. What is one question you wish someone would ask you about this work? Ask it and answer it.

There is ALWAYS a question I want to be asked about fics, and it is what songs inspired them! I listen to so much music (Spotify wrapped outed me last year at 84k minutes of listening lmaoo) and I used to write to music a lot but I've been finding it distracting lately.

Recently I also read over another novel I've written and....... I'm not content💀💀, so I want to rewrite almost the entire thing sometime. (That actually made me feel a little discouraged and down about my writing for some time and I'm still recovering from writer's block from it. I had high hopes for that novel and turns out, every single line I've read made me wanna pull my hair out. But there are scenes in there that hold great potential, so it just needs reconstruction.)

AND I'm in the middle of writing the first draft of yet another novel. Idk how that's gonna go. I have a great idea in my head, I just need to get it on paper. I dropped it for some time, because I was loosing track of my characters a bit, but now I've picked it up again.

I MEAN LIKE— rCiel apparently has better self esteem than oCiel, at least on the surface. He’s not shy and naturally he’d feel more comfortable with Lizzie due to being raised as her fiancé his whole life. We see he had no trouble taking her hand to go play with her. okay im gonna tell a little story which has come to be known as ‘the burger story’

under a read more bc its long as heck

so during high school i was super super shy and awkward, and i didnt like anyone to ever come near me. when the other people in my year starting dating and stuff i was just really Not Interested and in all honesty, i felt way too immature to be doing some of the things that i knew other people my age were doing. i knew i didnt want to date anyone but i always just put that down to being shy? and i figured i’d just find someone later in life and that was okay

and then i went to uni, and i finally got my glow up (!!), learned how to do my makeup properly and started slowly getting more confident talking to people. more guys started being interested in me, which was kinda confusing to me bc in my head im still an awkward teenager with zits and a bad sense of fashion lmao. so i had a few people here and there asking me out but again i just really wasnt interested and would much rather be on my own instead. i did try and get close to guys (usually when i was drunk lmao) and that was fine but not like ?? just not exciting like it seemed to be for everyone else. i think half the time i was just doing it because that’s what everyone else was doing, and i didnt want to be left out

so then i was like huh maybe im gay?? and i thought about that for a little while and even though i feel more comfortable around girls, i didnt actually feel attracted to girls anymore than i did to guys

by this point i was bored of wondering about my sexuality so i just decided to go with the flow for a while. and then i found out that this one guy i’d been good friends with for a few months liked me, and for once i didnt feel like i needed to reject him or push him away, i was happy with letting him be closer. he was really kind and gentle with me, would answer the phone at 4am when i called him even though he had to get up early for work and he’d carry me home when my heels were hurting, just an all around good guy

he wasnt my boyfriend or anything but we’d spend time together and make out and i felt pretty comfortable with him which is a rarity bc like i said, most of the time i’d just rather be by myself. i wasnt feeling the ‘spark’ that you hear people talk about in movies and i didnt want to, like, rip his clothes off when i saw him but i liked him and we got on well so that was enough for me

so this one night me, him and all our pals went on a night out together and as per standard on the way home we stopped at good old maccy d’s and i got a 99p cheeseburger like the queen that i am. and we all got a taxi back to our student halls and everyone started heading inside but he pulled me back and the two of us stayed outside

now i was still drunk at this point but i have a really clear memory of this moment in my mind lmao.we started to kiss and i put my arms around his shoulders, still clinging to my lil cheeseburger in one hand. i started to get bored of the kiss after a few minutes so i opened my eyes, and all i could do was gaze at my cheeseburger over his shoulder and i had this moment of ‘wow i’d so much rather be alone eating my cheeseburger than doing this right now’. a cheeseburger epiphany, if you will

so i pulled away from him and gave him the fastest ‘see ya pal’ of my life lmao and tottered up to my flat. i didnt think much of it on the actual night but i thought about it a lot afterwards, about how little interest i had in having sex with him. i thought that if i didnt want to sleep with this guy, who i liked and had a lot in common with and felt comfortable with, did that mean i’d ever find someone i’d want to sleep with?

i’d seen the term asexual floating around on tumblr and it seemed to fit in with everything i felt so i rolled with that. im not a big fan of putting labels on myself though; i dont want to close myself off to romance or sex completely because theres still a chance that in the future i will meet someone whose clothes i want to rip off, but it hasnt happened yet and for right now im happy with the way that things are

so my advice to you would be to find someone nice to kiss, treat yourself to something off the mcdonalds saver menu and see what happens next (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Scar deserves to let loose but he has so much self-control (well, when it actually matters-) and really he forgives way too easily (though there is... one person he can never forgive......) but to him life's too short and precious to spend it angry and hanging on to a grudge <3 (contrast with Mumbo, who holds onto a grudge so well that he still sends Cleo a tacky tie once a year for them insulting his tie Once) Scar gets to hiss more don't worry >:3 He has more feral moments, and some VERY feral moments that really cement the fact he is, definitely and without a doubt, Fae- hahaa >:3

Totally-not-a-dates are the best bonding experiences really <3 Scar is so chill, he has not a jealous bone in his body and like you said, no matter how much he loves Mumbo he gave up on that the same moment he realized it </3 One day... one day... He thinks they're so good together, he knows they bring out the best in each other and have helped each other heal and move on, to him it's only natural it's the two of them <3

it's so great to see woobin back on screen 🥺, i forgot to tell you, before homecha it was when the weather is fine which was ( still is shjddj) my comfort drama. i think the most favorite parts from it are the book club the characters held at this bookstore every week and everyone would bring something books, poetry to read aloud. the quotes and poems were so <//3 whole drama overall is is like hot chocolate <3 but unlike homecha which was warm and light, it's cold, sad and melancholic jdjdkd a slow burn tbh but it's the kind of sad which gives comfort? i hope i make sense 😭. not many ppl liked it hdjdkdkd ig it's not for everyone.

in a way ( the first two episodes) our blues reminds me of when the weather is fine but on lighter tone. it's like writers mixed both dramas and created this one hddjdk :3

ALSO ( im so sorry for ranting about drama lmao 😭😭😭 ) i checked what ahn hyo seop is working on next and it's remake of a taiwanese drama called " someday or one day" i watched it last year it literally blew my mind 😭 the plot was so goood. it's a time travelling drama! im very excited to see ahn hyo seop in remake of this. business proposal really made me like him (had never seen any previous projects of his).
