Sorry to keep harping on this but I’m just so dumbfounded by this whole thing. Like the overscoring is so blatant to anyone with eyes. Comparing the numbers that the very same judging panel on the very same day will give to her vs the other gymnasts (both comparably executed routines that are rightfully scored lower and those which are clearly better but get the same scores as hers), it’s so gobsmackingly obvious that I truly find it hard to believe that it can all be chalked up to subconscious Olympian bias. Like there’s just no goddamn way they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing. I would love to sit them down and go through routines as ask them to justify what deductions they did or did not see and ask why their deep knowledge of the sport flies out the window when certain gymnasts compete
MANY OF THESE ARE ELITE BREVET JUDGES, AND THEY ARE ALL L10 JUDGES. NOT JUST SMALL PEANUTS BABY JO JUDGES! I CANT STRESS THAT ENOUGH!
They do indeed see the finer details! They know the sport pretty damn well, we know this because they have to dedicate hundreds of hours to mandatory training and workshops and verifications etc to reach and maintain that certification level. They do see the deductions they just CHOOSE not to take them because they apparently have all just accepted [perhaps rightfully! 🤡] that NCAA is a glorified exhibition tour masquerading as a legitimate competition circuit.
Okay I knoooooooow the gymnasts don’t judge themselves and shouldn’t be held accountable for shit judging but the beast of Hatery roars inside me every fucking time I watch Jade get outrageously indefensibly overscored lol. Jade this is a you problem now sorry. Retire.
