#but I can't say them that's uh illegal because I don't have npd so if I say those things it's because my brain decided to pretend to have it

Extremely incoherent tired ramble I think mostly about what the heck does empathy mean and I can't have npd right (<- doesn't remember if he actually confirmed you can't be high empathy and have npd or just got confused by something but still probably just being mentally ill in unrelated ways)
why do narcissist memes need to be so relatable like I'm high empathy unless I've gravely misunderstood what empathy is? I think that's gotta be one I don't have right ?? my brain is just still disorder hoarder mode because it still hasn't realized we already got the validation of knowing we're genuinely messed up that we were craving years ago (which was mainly "yes you're plural actually no like legit you're not making those guys up and yeah no that stuff was trauma you are not just mysteriously messed up without trauma there was definitely trauma what part of being terrified every single night for most of your childhood did you think was not traumatic") what was I talking about uh empathy is like just interpreting information to the best of your ability and then feeling things based on that interpretation like it can be incorrect just like you can read words wrong and react to what you think you read and like empathy makes you feel what you interpret other people as feeling to some extent right? and it's like analogies and metaphors in how it requires you to map one situation onto another in order to interpret it and lacking knowledge about one of them will make it much harder to understand just like I don't understand what it means to not understand metaphors to the point of struggling to communicate without the use of analogies in case that wasn't obvious but that's what empathy is right like it's not telepathy it's just interpreting and reacting to information?? I have that I can interpret information and then I react like just now I thought what if a child was sad for some reason and I almost cried bc hypothetical child is sad and that's incompatible with the thing isn't it someone who's better at humans than me please explain good night

explain German politics to me? (genuinely interested, i'm in the process of applying for uni and I was thinking about whether I should apply to German universities considering I want to study English and German)
the entire german political structure is. a mess and very extensive so i'll stick to the election i was complaining about ajksdhk dusting off my polisci knowledge rip
we have both a general election where we vote for representatives in our parliament more or less directly (either for direct mandates or via party votes) and state elections.
state elections decide both how that specific state will be governed but also who the state is gonna elect for the federal parliament.
the general german parliament (Bundestag) and the federal parliament (Bundesrat) are the governing forces and main decision makers. our chancellor is voted for by the general parliament and also has a fair bit of power (current one is. a downgrade from merkel, unfortunately). our president is elected in a different way but that's not too important since he has uh. basically no real power? he signs off on laws and is technically our national representative but most people don't even know who's our current president so. yeah.
the problem is a party called AfD or, roughly translated, "alternative for germany". they are, and i mean this quite seriously, the national socialist party and full of nazis and people that are very close to being ones.
they are also the second strongest force in most elections. usually the CDU (yuck) or SPD (meh) get the most votes, and then it's either the AfD, one of the first two, or the greens. lately it's the nazis. we have a genuine, acute problem with right wing conservatives, and you'd think we of all nations would crack down on that.
yeah. we're not. which isn't to say that we can't, if you're curious look up the history of the NPD, but for various political reasons they're just. not. like earlier this year there was a whole deal around them getting funding for their party-based aka nazi foundation. which they won.
we have a federal constitutional court. in recent years there have been a lot of arguments and petitions around making the AfD illegal because again they are literal nazis. in our parliaments. with a lot of power.
but germany is being fucking stupid and stuck on "well it's not democratic to make a party illegal" as if it isn't already illegal to be a nazi. but no, the chances of that happening are pretty low.
as always this issue is super complex and broad, but yeah, that's why the recent election results are fucking upsetting but not at all surprising. fuck fascism. we have exactly the same problems with facists as all the other european countries.
