Forgot how absolutely shit I feel after a day shift. Even if I walk or go shopping or cook something - I always like get this post-shift crash. And forcing myself to stay up just doesn’t work because my brain stops functioning, so doing something like writing or drawing or reading a book just doesn’t work.
I literally cannot stay awake.
Which is annoying because then I fuck up my sleep. Though honestly at this point I may just like … literally go to sleep for a full 8 hours right after shift and wake up absurdly early because obviously what ever I’m doing currently is not fucking working. This was happening before I started adderall so it’s not the post-morning dose crash. Though I may need to start taking my afternoon dose again.
I would kill God to actually get a body where caffeine actually does what it’s advertised to do.
#I’m sure it’s got to do with nutrition among other things#but I also just think these shifts do not jive with my internal clock#I know delayed sleep phase disorder is a very real thing#and that’s made only worse by rotating shiftwork that doesn’t allow me to get onto a set schedule#but I love my job and I kind of love the persistent change of rotating shifts#while I’d rather work nights - like the change up in schedules is something novel which makes it nice#I think I just didn’t get the best transition back to days unfortunately
