Code Geass fic recs

(Feel free to scroll right down to the recs below the cut. Please notify me if the read more or any links don’t work!)

Ok, so I’ve contemplated doing this for a while and I’ve shied away from it, especially since it can be a rather delicate matter.

But considering that a) there are so many amazing code geass fics out there that deserve all the love; b) one of the first things I stumbled upon trying to find fic recs was a reddit thread lowkey bashing ao3 for having only ‘yaoi and plotless smut’; and c) upon further searching a lot of people reccing like the same 3 fics, I thought that maybe it’s not that a bad idea to make a fic rec list myself. Also, most rec lists I’ve found later on were rather outdated.

All of the fics on here are from either ao3.org, fanfiction.net or the cgkinkmemeii, so feel free to check these sites out by yourself.

You might also want to check out the allthetropes and tvtropes rec pages (again, rather outdated) or this suzalulu fic rec post. There will be fics on this list that are recced there as well, but I tried to keep the overlap to a minimum.

Some more things I feel like I need to say beforehand:

A lot of fics on this list are either Gen or if there are pairings present they mainly include SuzakuxLelouch. I decided against titling this post a suzalulu fic rec because I believe that there’s still quite a bunch of fics that everyone regardless of ship could be interested in. Especially under the ‘crack’ section. (Honestly though, check those out because they are all so delightful to read and absolutely hilarious.)

You will also find that they are predominantly angsty, so if it’s fluff you’re looking for, this might not be the best place D:

A lot of them are not completed (either on indefinite hiatus or ongoing), which I still included because they are amazing and totally worth a shot. I know that there are a lot of people who don’t read incomplete fics, I’m sorry :(( I am afraid that this rec list will not be very helpful if that’s the case.

Initially, there was a personal note of mine under almost every fic but I decided to take most out. The few that are left are most for clarification purposes or because I couldn’t bring myself to delete them.

This rec list is non-exhaustive. I have not and I could never think to read all the cg fics that exist, thus I’m very, very sorry for any fic not on this rec list. They deserve all the love and support regardless ♡

Writers

Since some of them have written dozens of fics for Code Geass and I don’t actually want to rec more than 3 or 4 fics by a single writer. Just a non-exhaustive list of writers in no particular order.

Summary: Mid-R2.21: the most unfortunate timeskip of them all. The road trip from hell, in which the boys mostly lose their minds, and CC mostly doesn’t.

Summary: It’s not uncommon for a student and teacher to face each other as enemies. (Tohdoh and his relationship with Suzaku across the years, and what he thinks and feels about it all.)

✰ Orchid and Rose by Mikomi’s Pen

Summary: Clovis. On being caught between goodness and greatness.

Note: Amazing character study. Do give this a try.

✰ Stripped by SlvrSoleAlchmist1

Summary: Lelouch finds an attraction slowly stirring both of them. Flirtation between friends is fine, but Lelouch is still Zero, the one Suzaku denies. If their emotions are stripped down and bared, will they come to understand each other, or will misunderstandings just destroy them? What about once plans have been laid down for Zero Requiem?

Note: God, read this even if it kills you. Or don’t because I stopped halfway through, not because it’s bad but… it’s so intense and it hurts so good. I think you’d need to be in a specific state of mind to read and enjoy it, at least that’s how it was for me. Also, there is more from this ‘verse: Erased, which takes place between s1 and s2.

Summary: On day fifty-nine, he visits her. (Lelouch&Kallen, final conversation. Takes place in Turn 25, in the two month gap between the final battle and the BK/U.F.N execution.)

✰ Damascus by touchreceptors

Summary: And yet it is still Lelouch’s face, Lelouch’s voice, Lelouch’s tongue wetting the small smile on his lips as he drawls, “Tell me, Seven. Have you ever slept with a man?” // Julius Kingsley x Suzaku

✰ Day to Die by Suzaku (wingblade)

Summary: Suzaku wants to kiss Lelouch before the Zero Requiem.

✰ Something Worth Blackmailing by NeoDiji

Summary: Prequel to Blackmail Gone Wrong, detailing how a SuzaLulu relationship could have developed from early season one. This fic is PURE relationship-building woven into modified canon-verse. Fluff, romance, desire, and all that nice warm fuzzy stuff laid over their reality.

Summary: Suzaku, taken aback again by his emperor’s striking beauty, contemplates a question that plagues him in light of Zero Requiem. Is it better to love and lose… or simply never love at all? And does Lelouch agree with him?

Note: Absolutely fantastic characterization. I may or may not have teared up at multiple instances.

Summary: This doesn’t work out too well, she thinks thickly, because Lelouch needs a tissue, and her stomach is leaking. // Shirley&Lelouch

✰ Epitaph by Persephone1

Summary: Really, it’s funny that out of all the people he’s killed, both directly and indirectly, one of the few funerals Suzaku actually attends is his own.

✰ Conscience by gardeniia

Summary: She acted as his conscience, but maybe he had one all along // Lloyd&Cecile.

Post R2

Includes both fics in which Lelouch survived the Zero Requiem and those in which he died.

✰ Leave Me Your Starlight by Shamera

Summary: Five years after Zero Requiem, everything should be perfect for Nunnally. But no one will talk to her about her late brother, and five years without an outlet did not diminish her grief. If the only way to understand his actions was through a self-destructive path, then that would be the path Nunnally chose.

✰ Full House by Aki1

Summary: History repeats itself, despite our best efforts. Years after Requiem, Zero retreats from the world’s new-found chaos and pays a visit to the man he murdered.

✰ bitter seeds and trust, and trust returned by phresine

Summary:

(1) They keep their grief to the shadows. Or: How Nunnally and Suzaku learn to cope with Lelouch’s death.

(2) Suzaku needs to trust and Kallen needs to learn. Or: “Kallen becomes very close to Nunnally after she graduates, and Zerozaku is feeling a bit…possessive. Cue jostling.”

Note: These aren’t actually a series but they’d fit so well into the same timeline.

✰ Ghost in the Machine by RobinRocks

Summary: Lelouch can’t let the world be and, likewise, Suzaku can’t turn his back on his prince, no matter how much he wants to. The world might not be so easy to change this time around, however. Their enemy? Geass itself.

Note: The post r2 fic we all deserve.

✰ Of Siblings and Masks by Dracon Asahara

Summary: Post R2. A Nunnally introspective. In which Suzaku realizes what it means that Nunnally and Lelouch were siblings. Because just like Lelouch was no true demon, Nunnally is far from being an angel. And they all wear masks. dark-ish. Suzaku is Zero. One shot.

✰ Shattered Chain by Penglaive

Summary: In the aftermath of Zero Requiem, a murder mystery in reverse. From the start, the assassin is known, and the victim is willing. What, then, could possibly go wrong?

✰ It’s In the Way You Remember by inconstant heart

Summary: The story goes on without him. //Lelouch, Kallen, and moving forward.

✰ new memories for old faces by gardeniia

Summary: In the years following the war and the death of the Demon Emperor, the world is at peace. Kallen is not. Kallen and Zero, and a reunion long overdue.

Note: Suzaku x Kallen interactions, do I need to say more??? Super nice take on their dynamics, makes you mourn the fact that the show didn’t give us more.

✰ Revenant by YamiPaladinofChaos

Summary: Revenge is like a ghost. It takes over every man it touches. Its thirst cannot be quenched, until the last man standing has fallen. Post R2, no pairings.

Canonverse

What-if scenarios, Canon Divergence, Time Travel and all odds and sorts. Anything that references the canon plot is here.

✰ The Abandoned Mask by notyourparadigm

Summary: Alternate take on the events of R2 Turn 7. What if Kallen had arrived a little too late in Shinjuku? With Lelouch happily hallucinating and completely out of commission, Kallen will have to make quick allies with his self-proclaimed brother if Zero is ever to return to the battlefront. (Not pairing heavy, but features the dynamics of Kallen/Lelouch and Rolo/Lelouch along the lines of what was shown in the anime.)

✰ In Memoriam by Shadowstalk

Summary: R1 Turn 18. Kallen felt sick to her stomach as she twisted her pocketknife deeper into Suzaku’s gut, but she HAD to do this. For Zero’s sake.

Note: The canon divergence you never knew you needed.

✰ Turning Point Series by elarielf

Summary:

(1) Chess Match: What if Lelouch took Schneizel’s king in episode 9 of R2? With Suzaku out of the picture, Lelouch takes the opportunity to turn the tables. But then he still has to deal with C.C., Suzaku, Nunnally, the Ragnarok Connection, Rolo, and every poor decision he’s ever made. And there have been quite a few. And, likely, there’ll be a few more.

(2) Loyalty: What if the Black Knights didn’t turn on Lelouch when they found out he was Zero? Without the power of his despair, Lelouch has more to lose, and yet more to gain in defeating Britannia. But his tools and motives have changed, and winning starts to look like losing as he finally tallies the cost of his actions.

(3) REvelation: What if Suzaku knew who Zero was almost from the start? Can the inertia of destiny be overpowered by knowledge, or is Suzaku and Lelouch’s fate set so strongly in stone that even the truth can’t set them free? Friends can agree to disagree over small matters, but when live and let live is almost impossible, something has to give.

(4) Teamwork: What if Kanon never followed Suzaku to his rendezvous with Lelouch? Together, Suzaku and Lelouch can accomplish anything, including breaking down Lelouch’s inherent mistrust of other people, even his father. Sometimes the road to hell is paved with the best of intentions and not every turning point leads to a happier ending.

Note: All of them are totally worth reading, though my favourite ones are REvelation and Teamwork.

✰ Bird’s Eye View by Aki1

Summary: In 1977 L.L. traded his Geass for immortality at the age of 18. Forty years later he would meet a young Japanese soldier whose lofty dream was to change an Empire from within. “Together, you and I can accomplish *anything*.”

Note: Well, the premise is totally an AU but it follows a lot of the canon plot. I’m not sure what exactly it was about the summary that didn’t convince me to read it right away; it totally doesn’t do the fic justice.

✰ Men of Miracles by LokasennaHiddleston

Summary: In the middle of an invasion, the broken heart of a boy who committed patricide to save his friends doesn’t matter. But what if it did? What if one man extended his hand to that child and helped him through his trauma?

Or the one where Tohdoh finally acknowledges his mistakes and with a little help from a certain green-haired witch, gets the chance to fix them. Will he succeed or are Lelouch and Suzaku destined to become the Demon Emperor and his Betrayer Knight?

✰ Red Geass by elarielf

Summary: The death of a person of unknown origin at Ashford Academy wouldn’t normally warrent the Area Burreau of Investigation. But when the suspects are an Eleven in the military and his odd friend, Jane might be a little too clever at his job for his own good. (Crossover w/ The Mentalist )

Note: You don’t need to have seen The Mentalist to understand & enjoy this.

✰ In Transit by heavysettings

Summary: After R1, Charles doesn’t wipe Lelouch’s memories. He disables his Geass and keeps him in the palace to keep him contained. Suzaku wants nothing to do with him at first, until he realises that the entire palace are taking their liberties a bit too far.

✰ Loving the Damned by Love_Psycho

Summary: Shirley manages to avoid death by the whims of a not-so-minor choice in words. But can this change the story? [The answer is yes. Enthusiastically yes.]

✰ Indecent Proposal by elarielf

Summary: As a condition to agreeing to the SAZ, Zero demands one night a week with Suzaku, which Suzaku altruistically agrees to. He isn’t entirely surprised when things turn sexual, but he is surprised at the care and effort Zero puts into making sure Suzaku’s enjoying himself.

✰ Coup d’État by Eline (sans_souci)

Summary: Lengthy AU in which an exiled prince aids his childhood friend in the taking of an Empire. They actually succeed.

Note: Again, IMO the summary doesn’t do the fic justice at all. A take on what would have happened if C.C. gave not Lelouch but Suzaku a geass.

✰ Children of the Revolution by Keith Fraser

Summary: Don’t you hate it when you’re having a nice game of Take Over The World with your friends and your little sister wants to play too? When Nunnally discovers Lelouch’s identity as Zero, she decides to help him in any way she can.

✰ Blank Slate by rkemy

Summary: This is what Suzaku wakes up to: a white ceiling, a dead princess, and no memories whatsoever. At rock bottom, he’s trying to piece his life back together. And then there is this Lelouch guy who claims to be his boyfriend.

✰ Blackmail Gone Wrong by NeoDiji

Summary: The social implications of a Britannian dating an Eleven. Theirs is no fairy-tale romance to the rest of the world, and Lelouch and Suzaku must stand the consequences of their relationship. Who will bear the blame for the sins that are committed? Who will take the punishment? And who will measure it out? When a hate crime (quite literally) wipes Lelouch off his feet, he must figure out how to salvage both his rebellion and his relationship with Suzaku.

✰ Rise of the Unholy Trinity by LokasennaHiddleston

Summary: The Zero Requiem was successful, but to some, the price was too high. C.C. does not care about world peace, not when she has lost the last person who gave her existence meaning. Suzaku Kururugi takes refuge in the last orders from his emperor, but he aches for what could have been.

They hate each other, but in a world that so eagerly accepts Lelouch’s sacrifice without thanking him for it, they cannot help but take refuge in one another. And when C.C. hatches a plan to turn back time and bring Lelouch back, Suzaku eagerly welcomes it. She will be his shield and he will be his sword, and this time, they will get it right.

Summary: Nine years after Zero Requiem, a tired Suzaku is lured to a maze in a deserted area. Nine years before Zero Requiem, Lelouch finds himself in a similar predicament. Time and space become mutable as they both roam the maze, searching for an exit. Maybe.

Note: This was a fill for a prompt on the kinkmeme, and I think reading the prompt might be helpful to understand the fic better?

Alternate Universes

Looking for florist, coffee shop or college AUs? I’m afraid that I haven’t actually come across too many fics like that in the CG fandom. These AUs tend to be more violence-y than fluffy :) Crossovers. Some of the fics are still set in canonverse, but have no connection to canon plot whatsoever.

Summary:

(1) In the milliseconds between blinks, Suzaku dreams of the taste of sweet sake and a body tucked against him in a warm bed. The taste is light on his tongue, the alcohol heavy in his mouth, and the dream shatters as Suzaku runs his katana through the eye socket of the man who charged at him.

(2) “I’ve heard a rumor,” Lloyd says, “that the Kururugi clan has a champion.” His grin stretches wider. “A young man with a clever mind and a lawyer’s badge.”

Summary: Suzaku is an FBI agent tasked with finding Zero, a politically-motivated serial killer. But when Zero starts targeting the agency, even Suzaku’s lover Lelouch might be in danger.

✰ The Charlatans of Circumstance by LawliPop

Summary: Lelouch’s fear sprung from his belief that a woman would develop feelings for him if she acted as his fiancée. Which is why he hires another man to play the part instead.

✰ World Enough and Time by Shamera

Summary: Six months after Ragnarok, all Kallen wants to do is protect the people she loves, even if it means betraying everything in her heart to serve a Britannian prince. Suzaku wants to reverse a mistake he made but would never take back. Euphemia is willing to risk everything of herself in order to be a better person and find a cure. And Lelouch… Lelouch wants to make the world safe for his little sister, even if it means destroying everything in his path. (aka the Lost Song inspired zombie apocalypse AU I always wanted to write for Code Geass. This is going to be a ride.)

Summary: Eight years after the beginning of the invasion, Japan is still steadfastly at war with its Britannian invaders thanks to the skilful leadership of Genbu Kururugi and the skills of a pair of boys with the potential to turn the war around.

Summary: Destiny has a way of complicating fairytale romances. Suzaku/Lelouch

✰ Hunger Geass series by elarielf

Summary: Britannia has its own version of The Hunger Games, occurring annually. Area 11 has only won once before in living memory. Hopes are far from high for Suzaku and Lelouch, this year’s Tributes, but they both have a plan.Unfortunately, their plans are to lead the other to victory. Also, they can’t seem to work together. Also, other Tributes have their eyes on them. Basically Suzaku’s in over his head and Lelouch may have bitten off more than he can chew on this one, but neither of them are very good at resigning themselves to the inevitable.

Summary: After the Britannian Empire invades Japan in search of Kira, Light finds himself in the perfect position to find the true names of the Nobility: Ashford Academy. Enter Lelouch, a chessboard, and a clash of philosophy. ( Death Note crossover.)

✰ Historiographical Controversy from the kinkmeme

Prompt: I’d like to see some of the events of Code Geass - Lelouch and Suzaku and all the stories of Zero and the Demon Emperor - as they are told by someone who wasn’t in on all the secrets 50 or 100 (or more) years after Zero Requiem. It can be in the forum of a historical biography of one of the people involved, or some crazy conspiracy theorists ranting, or a (supposedly) “based on a true story” trashy film, or a school kid’s history textbook or anything you like.

Through a stroke of luck they become a Twilight-level phenomenon, with millions of people anxiously looking forward to each new installment. Meanwhile, as the years pass and the hype for the books grows, even the main Code Geass cast cannot escape it and decide to take a look. Summary for Zero Exposé: Tamaki wondered briefly, in an extremely rare flash of insight, at the absurdity that they’d discovered Zero’s humanity still without seeing his face. (Wherein Tamaki levels his gun at the worst possible person, and Zero does not react well.)

Summary for Important Talk: “I’m sorry, Zero, but I just don’t feel comfortable with an older, mysterious man making moves on Kallen.” Another deep chuckle sounded from Zero. “I understand your concern,” he said. Taking a step closer, he leaned in nearer to the other and asked, “Just out of curiosity, how old do you think I am, Ohgi?”

Summary: "This is Milly Ashford, your student council president. Cat hunt, everybody!” What if episode six had gone a bit differently? Featuring Lelouch in a dress and Milly with too much time on her hands.

1. My favorite place to be is the forest! As a child literally all I did was wander into forests and build forts/ forage for things and explore nature. I also quite like being in the ocean, even though I am absolutely terrified of it the ocean is so beautiful that I can usually put my fears aside for a bit

2. My favorite book genre is YA Fiction/ Fantasy/ Romance, usually any combination of the previously mentioned genres is really all I read. I love Fantasy and suspense together especially.

3. My favorite color currently is blue, I bounce between all the colors though. All of them can be very pretty I love colors :D

4. I love pet names! I also assume everything is platonic unless otherwise specified so that way tone tags don’t have to be overly used, BUT definitely let me know if you would want me to accompany pet names with tone tags for clarification! It’s no issue at all/gen

5. I much prefer quiet spaces. I get overwhelmed very fast with lots of noise, the only thing I can handle being loud is music and that’s only my own lol. I usually can’t even talk to more than like two people at once because it gets too loud for me

6. I am pretty allergic to both but I much prefer cats as of right now, I used to like dogs more though

7. It’s super weird but I cannot stand hot chocolate, I have never liked it which is so weird because I love chocolate haha. I really liked iced coffee and some teas (iced or warm) but tea is very hit or miss for me

8. Virtual cuddles are fun, IRL cuddles can be fun with the right reason but I am very touch sensitive so with some people being touched feels like I’m on fire and that’s not very fun lol

I must be honest, I’m really excited, and also a bit nervous for this exchange. I have never done one of these before, so I’m not entirely sure what to include in this letter! I loved this show SO MUCH and it was cancelled far too soon. One of the biggest things I loved was the way that Rosaline and Benvolio trusted each other. Watching their relationship develop from distrust to grudging allyship to understanding and trust and love was wonderful. I love all the characters in Still Star-Crossed, so if you include others, I would not mind at all. Some possible prompts :

Alternate setting AU (modern, noir detective, space, fantasy)

continuation of canon--what happens after the end of the show?

Outsider POV (maybe from a family member like Livia’s point of view, a servant, or a random passerby)

Quánzhí Gāoshǒu - Húdié Lán

I just recently discovered the world of QZGS, but man is it amazing! The sheer number of characters is mind-blowing, and on top of that, the fact that so many have their own distinct characterizations and motivation...wow. The three characters I chose for this one are Fang Rui, Chu Yunxiu, and Su Mucheng. All three of these characters are so interesting--Fang Rui’s playful side versus how seriously he takes his contributions to the team, Su Mucheng and her power hidden behind a smile, Chu Yunxiu and her struggle to be taken seriously as the only female captain (CYX deserves BETTER). I think that Su Mucheng’s relationships with Fang Rui and Chu Yunxiu also deserve more attention. Fang Rui’s respect for her, and the pure scam energy they exude when they’re together, are excellent. And Chu Yunxiu and Su Mucheng being female pro powerhouses, leaders, mentors, and having to deal with the male-dominated pro world denigrating them--they get each other in a way that many other pros don’t. I designated ‘or’ matching for this one, so if you would rather focus on a pair of them rather than all three, that’s just fine with me. I also love their relationships platonically or romantically, so feel free to go in whatever direction you want with this. Some possible prompts:

An exploration of Su Mucheng assuming the captainship, with Fang Rui as her VC and/or Chu Yunxiu taking her out to celebrate there FINALLY being another female captain in the league

CYX joins Happy, or SMC gets transferred to Misty Rain

Smash and Grab (Pixar short)

Even if you don’t choose to write for this one, I would still highly recommend that you watch this pixar short. It’s about 3 minutes, all told, but it only took that long to capture my heart. and it’s about how two robots rebel against the place they have been assigned because they are FRIENDS and they want to HOLD HANDS. The visual storytelling in this is superb, and I loved the glimpses of the robot-city in the sky, and the use of free-standing power sources vs. wired in ones, because it implies so much about how this world is structured to give freedom to some robots and not to others. Some possible prompts:

a continuation of the story--what happens to Smash and Grab next? do they make it to the city in the sky? a bittersweet or sad ending is fine with me as long as it’s meaningful, if that makes sense

expansion on the world--even stories that don’t include Smash and Grab are fine

Le Nozze di Figaro

This opera is SO MUCH FUN--it’s always been one of my favorites, and I didn’t even realize people wrote fanfiction about operas until I saw it on the list! What I love most about this opera is Susanna and Rosina’s relationship (whether platonic or romantic)--I love the way they support each other, and the way that being friends with Susanna is what leads Rosina to realize that she deserves better in her marriage. I also love that both Almaviva and Figaro believe they’re in charge of the story, but meanwhile, it’s actually Susanna and Rosina who take charge of the plot and put their own schemes into motion. The moment when Rosina steps into the open and reveals to her husband that she knew he was trying to sleep with Susanna the whole time? Having her take back the power she has lost? Truly incredible. Some possible prompts:

Canon divergence--Almaviva *dies mysteriously* and Rosina becomes the ruler

modern AU of some sort would be fun

Honestly? As much as I love Susanna and Figaro, I think Susanna/Rosina would be pretty cool.

I hope you can find useful information in here in order to write or draw something for me. However, if nothing here is of inspiration for you, or your idea about how to interpret a tag is different than mine, feel free to ignore my scenarios and create something else for me, based on my requested tags and that doesn’t include my DNWs.

DC's Arrowverse: Ray/Mick, Mick/Ray/Mick, Fic or Art

Aww, I adore everybody in this show and the season 3 was especially good, but I miss my two favorite dorks interacting with each other and worry over one another, having their backs and failing and succeeding at communication and stuff, and above all being shippy, that includes dark fic plots and scenarios! So I need a fix for that, fics are the perfect fix! ;)

I'm basically looking for lots and lots of angst and hurt scenarios, with a happy ending/eventual comfort. The tags selected are basically for this flavor of dark fic. :D Get together in the process is totally welcome, or generally if bonding happens in the process of the trauma and/or recovery, it would be doubly great. :D

I absolutely adore the team-as-family dynamic, it was a central element of the cartoon and it was present in the movies too. I can’t even tell if I’d call their dynamics functional or dysfunctional but I think it totally works for them, I love the way they complement each other so nicely, so I’d be really thrilled to get a dark/iddy/hurtcomfort story featuring either of my ships, especially with Ray and/or Winston to endure the worse of it.

The other Ghostbusters can be there during the ordeal, or arrive after it for a belated rescue. :) Please, be naughty about it.

Dystopic crossover where Cooper ends up in the hands of Treadstone's ruthless people. And/or he crosses paths with Kirill in the line of his job, and things get messed up. Complicate love situation would be really nice, though other scenarios inspired on my tags are totally good!

Maybe Operation Treadstone pulls the strings of the governments? Shapes the society? They need obedient operatives for that, that could mean blackmailing their recruits or subjecting them to brainwash procedures, and if this is a futuristic dystopia possibly bodymod their bodies against their will. I forgot to request this kind of tags, but feel free to write them if you wish, or ignore the suggestion if you wish to write about other tags. :)

I’d love any option you for Kirill/Cooper, either of them forced to seduce/capture/torture/execute the other, maybe things go in a different direction if brainwash fades off or feelings/scruples get in between the compulsion to execute orders. Or maybe Could even be a in-world reason for them to look so much alike (clones?), or not. Nice business man acquired the wrong penthouse, got himself in trouble and maybe someone will be able to rescue him, or ghosts will end up feeling bad for him and will release him? Maybe the gentle guy just bought the penthouse unaware of it being hunted. Maybe the businessman, being gentle, doesn’t feel like to make the ghost leave: that’s his home too, after all, right? Maybe the ghost is a rough guy with no respect for personal boundaries. Or maybe he’s too much into nice guys, and being dead wouldn’t stop him from trying to get laid, or win over someone’s heart, whether it is like a gentleman or an obsessioned creep. Or maybe the ghost is initially just trying hard to scare off the new owner and ends up getting charmed by how nice the businessman is to him? Consider my suggestions just that, if you have something else in mind, a different scenario or dynamic for example, feel free to write that instead.

Feel free to ignore, but if you’re writing me a ‘enemies to lovers’ consensual or dubcon ship dynamic with the ghost theme being the dark element, I tend to love opposites attracts, where the hero is a nice/warm kind of guy instead of an anti-hero; and the villain's has redeemable qualities instead of being pure cruelty/evil/ruthless. If you’re writing me noncon, though, feel free to make the villain a sadist or seeking revenge through rape and death can’t stop him from getting that revenge on the hero character (though I’m still hoping for the hero to be a gentle guy - and for him to get eventual rescue or something, please). I’m both open to the alive guy finding a way to turn his nemesy back alive, through resuscitation cock powers, or for the death being permanently a ghost but sticking around as long as his nemesy is alive. Maybe somehow they got bonded together and are stuck with each other, for better or for worse. I’m also totally OK with ghost smut. ;D I hope the tags can be inspirational for nice scenarios.
