The Twilight Saga

I've always felt like the general public got too hung up on the sparkly vampire bit and didn't pay enough attention to the truly macabre parts of Twilight. Those vampires cannot sleep - at all! - cannot eat, and most of all go through the sensation of being burned at the stake for upwards of 3 days for their transformation process. And once they're turned there's no reprieve, instead they just... live with this pain for all eternity and get set ablaze every time they smell a tasty human. Talk about terrible fate.
