In every "the JL has never met the batfam" au in my brain, whether it's because the Batfam are murder-happy or pretending to be cryptids or are secretly the mob, whatever, it is always always ALWAYS funnier to have Nightwing still on the JL team. Like. Everyone feels so bad for him since he lives right next to demon town or whatever and then one day he just drops the information that they're all his baby siblings. Actually, that big scary guy? His dad. Yeah it's like a whole thing. What do you mean you're scared of Robin? He's like a baby! <- said baby almost killed Superman for sport like twenty minutes ago
#I like to think that Clark has more than a suspicion about where Nightwing came from and where his actual ties are...#...but he can tell that N genuinely wants to help people and is working to make himself a better hero every day and that matters too#and sure. it takes a couple years for N to stop complimenting Jon's baby pics that he keeps on his personal phone and doesn't show to anyon#but *eventually* Clark is able to highlight how showing off your surveillance skills (outside of Bat circle) doesn't make you a lot of frie#also at some point N does publicly snap and putting the lid back on SECONDS later is more terrifying than his actual skill level lmao#Dick loves his coworkers and his friends he's made and that's very good for surveillance but more importantly his mental health#Batman/Bruce definitely assigned Dick there because he knew that it would be better for him long-term#and he wants his kid to be healthy and happy.#the rest of his children who LOVE crime however...#dc#faer fic

Somebody asked me what an ex-teenager was last night; you all may be tickled to find that teenagers eventually age out of that particular stage of life to become "young adults"— and maybe even "college students" or "new hires".
