basically if you ever see someone talk about a fic being “whumpy” it means that the story piles hard on the agonies for at least one character. I like to whump the characters I write (it’s more FUN that way) but I do whump a little harder on some than others. but yeah, tumblr events like whumptober are designed specifically for creating content that puts your beloved blorbo through some Shit
