ok another question about the exocolonist cookbook!
so auntie tirah's full name is tiramisu. because of this, should i add tiramisu to the cookbook even though it's never mentioned to be a food eaten in-game?
#honestly I think I should#especially since I don't have much actual recipes#I have a miscellaneous section with stuff like 'cracker'#or having one of the 'dishes' just be blue bobberfruit#and even with that. we're only at 49#now I'm going to go through the game again and REALLY try to get every single food and everything I can about said food#but. still.. I have most of them and that's only at 49#i want to get as many recipes as I can!!#also I like tirah a lot <3#but! I'm having a lot of fun making polls about this. I love love love interacting with the iwatex community <3#exo cook book!!#posts!!#i was a teenage exocolonist#iwatex#iwatec#OH and ive been having fun with spongecake recipes!#I'm trying to find ones with like. red fruits in them#to hopefully rather make them pink. or just. since we get spongecake from the valley#I feel like red fruits would be the right choice of an ingredient#but!! I'm very very much a cooking novice. I'm using a lot of this to just experiment#so <3 yea <3

seven sentence sunday (kind of)
tagged by @shortsighted-owl - thank you so much for thinking of me!! 🥺💜 here’s a little scene from the abuela-centric fic (that mostly lives in my head so far) where eddie learns to cook + plants a vegetable garden. (ps. i’m so very sorry but this is absolutely not seven sentences.)
“Look,” Eddie says, leveling a serious look across the table. “I need a normal, generic tomato. Nothing fancy, just something I can use for salsa or rice.”
“Generic.” Buck makes a wounded noise, presumably on behalf of tomatoes everywhere. “There’s no such thing as a generic tomato; they’re all special in their own way, and they all have unique flavor profiles and uses, and—”
“And,” Eddie cuts in, “they all taste the same to me.”
“A-ha,” Buck says, grinning slyly. “That just means you haven’t had the right kinds.”
And then he’s off, waxing poetic about a fruit. Actually, it’s culinarily a vegetable, says a voice in Eddie’s head that sounds a lot like Buck—probably because, surprise, Buck’s the one who’d dropped that fun fact earlier.
Eddie takes a sip of coffee to cover his smile. “Okay, fine. What does the tomato expert recommend for a total novice?”
“Well, romas are a classic for a reason. So, I – I guess those. But, c’mon, Eddie, expand your palate! Garden peach tomatoes are great in salads and salsas, sungolds are like candy, Cherokee purple heirlooms are so good on bagels with cream cheese...”
Bagels with cream cheese are one of the few things Eddie can reliably choke down in the morning; he would never dream of marring them with sliced tomatoes. Still, like a man possessed, he says, “Come with me.”
“Yes,” Buck says immediately. “Wait, what? Where? When?”
“When I pick out the tomatoes. Come with me.”
And Buck? He beams.

(not tagging anyone bc i procrastinated this for so long that sunday is basically over *and* i'm pretty new here and don't know tons of ppl but if anyone sees this and was on the fence about sharing and hasn't yet, consider this your invite <3)

Hi, hello, I'm Evan! (Introduction)
(This is a Pokemon RP blog, RP rules are in a Caard linked in my bio)
Hello! I'm Evan (he/him), a Pokémon Trainer from the Galar region! I'm currently travelling Paldea, taking on the Pokémon League, but I've been to a bunch of different places in the past too. My dream is to become a member of the Galar Elite Four!
Despite my being from Galar, my first gym challenge was actually in Alola, on a school exchange trip. That's where I met my starter and eventually ace Pokémon, Rowlet, who is now a Decidueye. I've done gym challenges in Kalos, Galar and Alola but I've never beaten the elite four...
I don't really have a favourite Pokémon type! I like all different kinds of Pokémon, but if I HAD to pick... I think I like the most Fire types?
I'm very passionate about making sure my Pokémon are all comfortable and doing what THEY want to be doing rather than what I want. I use Pokeballs for registration and Pokémon Centre reasons, but I find that travelling with my Pokémon outside of their balls helps to form a greater bond! I've been obsessed with Pokemon since I was little, and I can't imagine doing anything else! I also like cooking and travelling though - the latter of which is why I tend to move on from regions rather quickly. Galar will always be home, though!
I'll mainly post random thoughts about my experiences and my Pokemon, and what we get up to!
I've had many teams throughout the years, who I all adore dearly, but there's a few who have stuck with me on many of my journeys.
Archer, my beloved Decidueye, who was handed to me as a Rowlet by Professor Kukui almost 6 years ago now. As a novice trainer working my way through a foreign region, he was my emotional (and sometimes physical) crutch, and I consider him my very best friend to this day. Archer is a very kind-hearted and gentle Pokemon and will take other Pokemon under his wing in times of need, but he can be rather arrogant sometimes! As an experienced, fully-evolved Pokemon, Archer gets a lot of attention and he basks in it. Little do they know, despite his appearance and noble pride, Archer is a big softy, and will often fall asleep nestled into my side. He wakes me up early on Saturday mornings demanding to watch cartoons. He likes to think he's some mystical serene being of mystery - he is not, he still gets chow on his beak when he eats.
Scorch, my Scorbunny, is by all accounts, my real first Pokemon. My dad gave him to me after the bullying at school got particularly bad. Scorch has never evolved - he doesn't seem to want to, and that's totally fine! He's got, unsurprisingly, a very fiery and passionate personality. He'll cheer anyone on when they're feeling down in the dumps, and is great with kids - but behind closed doors, Scorch is an absolute menace. He'll chew on the corners of tables, empty Pokeballs (how, I don't know), and never leave any vegetable lying around because he WILL immediately eat it. This includes vegetables that get him sick - that was an embarrassing trip to the Pokemon Center. "Hi yes my Scorbunny ate an entire onion while I was in the shower, please heal this little idiot". He's great company and a fantastic friend but he has the IQ of a rock (affectionate).
My Vaporeon is called Link, and I won't get into how he evolved for personal reasons, but he's what my mum would describe as an "old soul". I feel like, if he could talk, he'd be incredibly wise. He's very graceful and polite - he chews his food carefully and slowly (unlike somebody, Archer), and walks with a tremendous sense of purpose. When he was an Eevee, he always had my back on my Alolan journey, and he still does to this day! If I forget my wallet, he'll nudge my bag, and he seems to always know where the house keys are when I don't. I always joke that he might be part Espeon, with how much he seems to just know! In battle, Link is not to be messed with. Despite his appearance, he ended up being the tank of the team, taking hits like an absolute champ while I healed up other Pokemon, and his Water Gun wiped Olivia's entire team. An old lady on the train in Galar once commented "Ah, you've got yourself a wee protector there, haven't ye?" and I think that describes him perfectly.
I never understood the "bratty Pikachu line" stereotypes until I actually got one myself. My Raichu, Nariku, would demand I wait him on hand and foot if I could. I caught him as a Pichu during sunset in Alola, and he's been a right thorn in my side ever since. He seems to change what type of chow he likes on the daily, and will refuse to eat from anything except his own special bowl at home - which is inconvenient when we're travelling. He HATES baths and will shock you if you try to clean near his ears, and he spends at least 3 hours straight cleaning himself after a fight. He's a right brat, but dammit, he's MY brat! He likes to be close to me, and will demand cuddles and carries at any given opportunity. Given that he evolved into a Kanto Raichu and not an Alolan Raichu, I think it's unfortunately safe to say that he was either smuggled or abandoned, and I'm leaning towards the latter, given his response to certain stimuli. I'll pamper him all he wants to make up for what is probably a terrible past. He's very agile and hard-hitting in fights, and prefers to end things as quickly as possible - he isn't a fan of stat boosting moves.
I met my Lucario, Jackal, on a rainy day in Galar's wild area. He was on his own, so I asked him if he'd at least accompany me to a Pokemon Center so I could get him some help. Lucario are smart Pokemon, so he understood me. I have a soft spot for Lucario - my mum had one when I was little. He joined my team shortly after that, and he's been fiercely loyal to me ever since. He can border on overprotective sometimes - if Link is a gentle and calm protector, Jackal can border on overreaction sometimes. He takes battling and protecting me and his team VERY seriously, and will stay up late into the night training by himself. I often have to threaten him with time out in the Pokeball just to get him to go to sleep. He likes to carry the littler Pokemon around if they get tired walking. He sleeps at the foot of my bed with his head on my feet.
I have a very goofy Lycanroc named Fenris. Similarly to Archer, he comes off as this very proud and noble beast but throw a ball for him and he turns into your average Lillipup! He goes absolutely nuts for belly rubs and neck scratches. He's also responsible for 90% of my email spam. Because he's a rare Dusk Lycanroc, I keep getting offers from Pokemon modeling agencies for him to fly out to Unova or Kalos or wherever for a photoshoot. Problem is, travelling that far would require him to be in a Pokeball for at least some of the trip - and he HATES his Pokeball. Nowdays, the Great Ball I caught him in is covered in bite marks and scuffs from when we've used it as a normal ball. Fenris has lots of love to give, and is great at calming both people and Pokemon down.

They’re all dilfs in their own way. And I can’t believe I’m saying this but I must admit...as they get older, they get hotter too 😳🥶 lol....After all the adversities they’ve endured, the thick skin they’ve built, and the variety of sounds and aesthetics they’ve experimented with, and after the impact they’ve left, they’re really starting to achieve that ✨DILF GLOW✨ to them.

Spoiling you with lavish experiences because he believes you deserve royal treatment. He’s a selfless person who loves to take care of the ones he loves dearly. however, he does have a secret freaky side too 👀 And he’d look into your eyes with that intense, hypnotic gaze when making love with you. He’d shower you with pleasure until you explode, but would also take profound care of you afterwards because he always wants his pretty little sweetheart to feel okay. 🥰 he’d treat you like the love of his life. In his eyes, you’re a goddess. After all, he and dilf taeyong work hand in hand together to make sure their princess is always well-fed with their love for you 💅🏼
minhyun - the DILFIEST OF THE DILFS!!!! PERIOD! ugh he is such a sexy gentleman. He has this quiet, humble confidence to him. He’s a good caretaker and he’s well-mannered. A traditional, chivalrous man who wins you over with his classy attitude and treats you with respect. He’d be such an amazing man to be a trophy wife to. Whenever he makes love with you, he would endlessly praise and worship you 🥰 oh AND he’s a MASSIVE clean freak oh my god....a living personification of danny tanner....he even once said “she can cook, I’ll clean” 🥺 His voice is so calm and relaxing to listen to. I just know he’d be such an amazing husband. Imagine him singing to you as you try to sleep 🥰 UUUWWUUU. even tho I’m jr biased, minhyun is my wrecker because of his excessive dilfiness

He always loves to make you laugh and smile. He’s very extra too so you’d have lots of giggly moments with him. He looks tough and intimidating but is the softest and most sweetest man ever🥺😖💖 and his laughter is contagious
aron - the quirky dilf. He’s the one who will make the cheesiest and cringiest dad jokes EVER and listen to 80s music but he can get away with it anyways cuz he’s hot. 🤣 He’s such a weirdo...and that’s why he owns two pet doges (aka THE craziest dog breed ever). the shiba inu is reflective of his complex personality and eccentricity. IMAGINE SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH HIM AND WALKING HIS SHIBES WITH HIM ON A BRIGHT SUNNY SPRING DAY🥺UWUUUU!!! as silly as he may seem, he is definitely a smart man and is the epitome of intellect. A prim, proper and polished gentleman while still maintaining his dorky personality. When he isn’t slaying the boardroom, he’s making immense love with you in the bedroom. He may be way older than you, but you have no shame in being called a gold digger/sexpot. Showers you with money and pretty gifts. And is very soft beneath the surface. You’re his beloved goddess and he finds your soul so precious 🥰
ren - A MILF/DILF CROSSOVER!!! Ugh where do I even start with him!?!?? Omg...he’d give you whiplash with his multifaceted nature. He can easily be the gentlemanly multimillionaire executive banker dilf....(COUGHS I’m in trouble era COUGHS) ........ but he can JUST as much pull off the “pretty & sparkly trophy wife of the dilf” aesthetic too!!!! He’ll have you wondering “is he the dilf or the trophy wife of the dilf?” He’ll happily be your hot sugar daddy dilf who showers you with his money, spoils you with his unmatched amount of love, and arouses you with his sandalwood and patchouli cologne.....But he can just as much be the sugar momma milf who entices you with his beautifully blown out curls, his red lipstick stains, and gorgeous outfits. He is a charming seducer and a beguiling seductress in one person. He blurs the lines between dilf and milf. 😳
AAAAAA I'M SO SOFT AFTER WRITING ALL THIS 🥺

Aaa Hello! -w-/ I'm new to the blog, and I fell in love with your writing!! May I ask headcanons of what Simon, Athena and Juniper would do with their S/Os in rainy days?
Hello! ヾ(^u^) Welcome and thank you v much for the kind words!!! This was such a cute request and thank you for request Juniper! First time writing for her and she’s an absolute sweetheart. 💚
Simon Blackquill.
He thoroughly enjoys curling up with you and a good book with Taka perched nearby on his day off as the rain patters pleasantly on the roof overhead. It’s cozy and safe.
If you ask nicely, he will read for you aloud, but only after thoroughly teasing you first (”Hmph. Can’t read on your own?”). You’re likely going to be learning a lot about traditional Japanese history and folklore or swords since he really enjoys studying them in his free time.
However, he won’t tease you as much if you were together before the UR-1 incident, he used to read. It’s rather nostalgic for him
If you also enjoy the Steel Samurai franchise, he’d be willing to marathon it with you! He is absolutely going to make commentary about what the show does and doesn’t get right about samurais and history.
On days when he still has a lot of work to do, he’s probably going to try and hide out at his desk combing through the evidence and case files.
Enjoys it if you just sit nearby and do your own thing, there’s something very intimate about it for him.
If the two of you go out, Simon will hold the umbrella for you and he may huff a bit and tease you if you place your hand over his to “help” but there’s a subtle smile on his face.
Athena Cykes.
It may be raining outside, but her attitude is just as sunny as always! Rain or shine, Athena is going to make sure you have plenty to do and have a mostly active rain day.
She’d be delighted if you join her for her exercise routines, either working out yourself or just keeping her company as she goes. You’re going to be dragged in for at least some stretches or yoga poses.
Games with PvP modes like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. and board/card games are going to get busted out. Along with some board games, too!
Loves making pillow/blanket forts with you. Usually, they result in getting into pillow fights before taking a nice, long nap.
Speaking of naps, they’re going to be a rainy afternoon staple for you. There’s something about the soothing sound of rain.
It’s not entirely uncommon for the two of you to fall into Youtube rabbit holes, watching absolutely bizarre content by the time you decide to get off the app. It’s… research, right? It counts as research.
If the two of you go out, she’s absolutely going to get sidetracked by jumping into puddles and may get lost seek them out if you don’t keep a close eye on her. It’s a very small, simple thing yet it makes her eyes light up and brings out her inner child.
Juniper Woods.
Knitting is her go-to rainy day activity and she’d love it if you. Juniper loves to knit and she loves spending time with you. It’s an ideal combination.
If you’re a knitter (be it a self-taught novice or a Pro), the two of you will maybe put on an audiobook or a podcast you enjoy and knit for a spell. Other times you’ll talk about anything and everything as you keep count of your stitches.
If you don’t know how to knit and would like to learn, she’ll spend these days teaching you and helping you work on your early projects.
Otherwise, she doesn’t mind it one bit if you do your own thing as you sit together and enjoy the comfy atmosphere together.
If you’d be willing to help her do her gardening for the day, she’d be most grateful! It can be a bit more of a handful for her on rainy days and sometimes she almost slips in the mud.
Baking or cooking together is another thing that she absolutely adores on rainy days. Things are liable to turn more playful than usual and you can start things like flour fights more easily than usual. It may be gloomy outside, but the kitchen is filled with laughter and delicious smells.
If you enjoy documentaries (especially legal ones) or romantic flicks, she’d love to have a movie night with you! There’s a lot of movies she hasn’t been able to see, so she has a good time watching them, cuddled up with you and enjoying a nice cup of tea.
If the two of you go out, she’d like to hold onto your arm underneath the umbrella, using it as an excuse to be affectionate and close with you.

sorry to bother, but do you have any evidence on-hand for that Foods To Eat [before/after/to (do/thing)] post sourced to you? i'd like to think it's accurate information but considering it's just claims with no supporting evidence, i'm dubious. thank you!
(fruitarian diet
The What to Eat post contains 12 snippets, therefore which one are you referring to? Are you referring to all 12 or one in particular?
I will start by saying that all 12 snippets come from The Fitness Café, they have over one million followers on Facebook where the vast majority of their content is posted I would be surprised that a network with such colossal following promote “dubious” information. That said, FYI one of the Fitness Café founders actually lost 48lbs in one year and is on his way to completing his first half marathon; unquestionably I am certain he’d be more than happy to hear your concern/feedback regarding his webpage content. Withal, there is a contact us section through their main website or you can also contact them through their FB page if you want to further verify with these guys!
As for evidence, obviously I cannot speak on behalf of the Fitness Café founders, but I can certainly throw in my 2 cents!
If you have been following me for the past 6 years, one thing you learn about me through my blog is that I am a huge advocate of Hippocrates, the father of medicine motto and philosophy; “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. In other words, “you are what you eat”! Considering that every 35 days your skin replaces itself and your liver about a month with new cells coming from the foods you eat there is no doubt what you eat literally becomes you! The food you ingest can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. I’d like to point out here that although I am an avid supporter of Hippocrates, let not thy food be confused with thy medicine: The Hippocratic misquotation… For example, I do not agree with people who believe that a fruitarian diet (Fruitarianism) cures cancer over chemotherapy, but I do believe that healthy eating may and can help prevent or lower the risk of getting severe cancer. I remember when my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer her oncologist recommended her to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables/to follow a healthy diet along with her chemotherapy treatments.
Continuing in the same vein, it is also no secret eating a nutritious daily diet is important to maintain good health. Consuming a variety of foods helps to get the daily vitamins, minerals, protein and energy necessary for feeling your best. Many fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed whole foods have properties that can benefit our health. Studies in the past decade have taken nutritional research beyond protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Chemicals in the plants called phytochemicals have been a specific focus in the past decade, offering benefits such as cancer prevention, cholesterol reduction, and hormone regulation, to name a few. There is truly a cornucopia of nutritional benefits that have been discovered. Since the post in question is way too long I will evidently not elaborate on all 12 snippets.
Before elaborating on some of the information contained in that post I’d like to give you a bit of a background about myself since you didn’t seem to mind reading the about me section on my blog (no pun intended).
I’m Stephanie (you can call me Steph), I used to be a class 2 obese teen who lost 70 pounds on her own (no personal trainer, no nothing), went from 220 lbs. to 150 lbs. during my first year of college mainly by undertaking running. Long story short, running became more than just a hobby with time (obviously), so after college I decided to give it a shot and try out for the varsity track and field team. I became so passionate with everything surrounding health that I decided to add a minor in social sciences of health during my undergrad. The rest is history, that once obese kid is now a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) tracklete – FYI I am a short distance runner. All that to say, I am not just a random anon posting about health and fitness, I actually live it, breath it and studied the subject.
Going back to the subject, as a varsity athlete and an avid runner the information contained in the Foods to eat section for: muscle gain, running, before and after workout seems to be correct to me. I can’t think of any fellow sport mate who’d say otherwise.
For example, the what to eat for running sections makes mention of quite a few carbohydrates - if you are an athlete not only a runner you understand the vital role these micronutrients play when it comes to performing. Healthy carbohydrates of course such as grains (brown rice), sweet potatoes, bananas (such as indicated in the post).
If you are familiar with the world of running, it should be no secret to you that most runners know they should eat pasta, rice, potatoes, or other high-carb foods before a half or full marathon (which is known as carbo-load). After all, carbs are a great source of energy, and you need a lot of energy to cover 13.1 or 26.2 miles. Having said that, if you are unfamiliar with Carb science I would recommend you read on it, it’s very interesting.
A bit of carb science:
When you eat a bowl of spaghetti, most of the carbs are stored as glycogen in your muscles and liver. Glycogen is your body’s most easily accessible form of energy, but it’s not the only source. During a half or full marathon, you burn both glycogen and fat. But the latter is not as efficient, which means your body has to work harder to convert it into fuel.
When you run out of glycogen during a race you hit “the wall.” Your body has to slow down as it turns fat into energy. Proper carbo-loading—or filling your muscles to the brim with glycogen—won’t make you faster, but it will allow you to run your best and, if you race smartly, avoid the wall. Obviously, as mentioned above you have to choose wisely and select the proper carbs.
I personally like to stick to same carbs, sweet potatoes, plantains and berries, but runners don’t need to be so restrictive. Tortillas, oatmeal, bread, pancakes, waffles, bagels, yogurt, and juice are all easy-to-digest options. Many fruits are high in carbs but are also high in fiber—and too much can cause stomach trouble midrace. Bananas are a low-fiber choice. And you can peel apples, peaches, and pears to reduce their fiber content. Throughout the years, I have posted several posts about carbs for runners on my blog.
Moving on, as for the muscle building snippet, I think it is pretty obvious that the foods mentioned contribute to muscle gain. All of the foods contained in the post below are loaded with protein, so I really don’t see why the information would be regarded as “dubious”. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of anyone knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition who’d think otherwise. Protein is a major micronutrient when it comes to muscles growth. Protein is made up of amino acids and amino acids are the building blocks of your muscles and body. Without them, it would be impossible to build, repair or even maintain muscle tissue. Protein is made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. Having a sufficient amount of protein will put you in a positive nitrogen balance, or an anabolic state. Being in an anabolic state will allow you to build muscle. Protein is even described as structural components of body tissues such as muscle, hair, collagen, etc., and as enzymes and antibodies.
As for fruits/vegetables I supposed the Fitness Café may be alluding to plant-based protein foods or carbs. A lot of fitness novices make the error of cutting carbs from their diet thinking it will help their muscles grow faster which isn’t the case at all. As effective as high-protein diets are for losing weight and athletic performance, you still need carbs and fat for maximum muscle growth (all micronutrients). As seen above, your body uses carbs for energy during exercise. If your cache of carbs is low, your body will use protein as an alternate fuel source, and your muscles won’t grow as much as they would if you were feeding them a cocktail of protein and carbs. As for the fat, it’s vital for the production of muscle-building testosterone. (Studies show that guys who eat higher-fat diets also have higher testosterone levels). Good carbs can be obtained from a variety of vegetables and fruits.
Speaking of protein, if you paid attention to the content of the post you’ve portably noticed that protein shakes/bars and foods are mentioned in the after/before and muscle gain section. One of the most important things you learn when getting seriously into fitness is the crucial importance of proper supplementation pre-and post-workout. Although it can vary by brand, most experts recommend taking protein in two servings: one an hour or so before your workout to tank off your body’s energy reserves, and another dose immediately after you work out to help repair muscle damage and fuel the growth of new muscles.
As a woman, I would like to also comment of the pregnancy section before concluding. Although, I have no intention of getting pregnant anytime soon, I have been reading a lot about healthy pregnancy lately and the foods showed in that section as well seems pretty accurate to me based on my readings. For example, leafy greens such as spinach have high levels of folate and iron, and kale and turnip greens are both good calcium sources. These minerals are important during pregnancy. Furthermore, all women need 10 extra grams of protein a day during pregnancy (for a total of at least 60 grams); beans and lentils are an excellent source, with about 15 grams per cup. They’re also high in fiber, which helps to combat constipation. And 1 cup of cooked lentils meets half of your daily folate requirement. Moreover, considering that many women develop aversions to meat while pregnant. Eggs are an excellent alternative protein source, since they contain all the essential amino acids your body needs. I also really like the fact that they mentioned lean meat because during pregnancy a woman’s iron intake needs to double so it’s important to include plenty of iron-rich foods now.
I could go on and on and give many examples, but I think you get it now. I invite to read more about health, fitness, wellness, everything surrounding wellbeing in general. Do I agree with everything Fitness Café mentioned yes and no, the world of fitness is always debating on various topic! There are a few things I would have added/changed, but overall for starters I think it’s a great post.
