first day back at work check my calendar realise I'm meant to be at a networking event in 25 minutes that's an hour away by bus

fuck me

the worst part is I could have made it on time if I wasn't pathologically incapable of dealing with taxis. but I decided day 1 back at work after a menty b it would be easier and quicker to just commit to being half an hour late to an event full of strangers than spend so long dodging calling a taxi that I'm BOTH late AND distressed.
