i made this post when i was 14 (u can tell bc atp i still thought frida kahlo was a cool person lol) but i am not exaggerating when i say that the initial founding, appropriation, and erasure that occurred within the art hoe movement in 2015 radicalized me as a teen and it’s like every new thing i hear about how mars/burntpicasso/sensitiveblackperson got screwed over as a kid breaks my heart i cannot emphasize enough how fucked up this situation is

i wonder how frida kahlo would feel about an art movement that was primarily aimed towards lgbta+ poc being twisted so that poc are the minority and white girls with enough money to buy hi tech cameras, various fashion items, and $80 backpacks are now the ones receiving the most recognition

today i didn’t wear makeup and wore pants that were too tight so i was grumpy, but i got home and started using what i’m calling the burntpicasso palette in my warm-up sketches and it instantly makes me calm/confident in my art, which makes me good irl! 

today’s outfit: a baggy grey shirt feat. tight highwaised pants and shaggy hair
