Lisa’s salon was where I met @wherescece when she was a little piglet and over the months we decided to add a furry friend to our family, a pink furry friend. Walking into @burkehairlounge reminds me of when I was younger. It reminds me of all the artsy things I did as a kid. I excelled at writing, art, painting, sewing, metal work, building, loved music. Anything creative, I had it down pat and was recognized and identified as the girl with the creative mind. Anything and everything was possible you just had to put your heart into it. Growing up, you don't get looked at as that little girl with a wild imagination, some days you just get told "it will not work, you don't see them doing it". When sit down and talk to @braidsbyburke about my hair, it's like we want to paint a picture or write a story. Some things we know we want, others we just have to wait and see, but all in all, the art of expression and the passion thrives in both her love for hair and people and my love of art through expression. Things are always better celebrated the day after, pizza in the morning, cake from last night, birthday wishes when you know the day has passed. Happy 2nd anniversary to @burkehairlounge! I had the pleasure of popping into this store shortly after it opened and met @lisanburke. And then the colours flowed through my hair. I love this place because I can go in knowing what I want or not knowing and still walk out with a bit more confidence in the bank each time (oh and my hair is the longest it’s ever been)! I love that not only I am welcome but Ella and Bazz are welcome as well. This place was the start of my many little gems that make up Kelowna’s local beauty. Thanks for Being Awesome 4: @braidsbyburke & @burkehairlounge where do I honestly start. I don’t make friends often but I feel this girl is for life. She’s the image of a full fledge Bossbabe with a heart of gold and the creativity of Andy Warhol.
