This was the last time we played this one because our guitarist-clarinetist has finished school now and our singer as well :( I'm really gonna miss them both, we're gonna have a band karaoke party tomorrow to say goodbye properly

Auch der #Buntspecht besucht gerne die Futterstelle. Mit seinen Kletterfüßen kann er sich nicht nur an Baumrinden, sondern auch seitlich am Brett der Futterstation festhalten. Da er in Sachen Lebensraum & Nahrung flexibel ist, kommt er häufig vor und ist auch im #Garten anzutreffen. 🪶 #birds #TiereImGarten

Have here a crappily zoomed in but centered picture of a Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) in our neighbours' garden.

I also spotted a European Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) while picking up the already rotting quinces in the chicken pen, but it was too smol and too quick to take a picture of. However, very cool to have visual confirmation after having heard the call several times already.

Why do I have the feeling that there is a very ironic undertone to this song?

"Doch Buntspecht wären nicht sie selbst, wenn nicht auch ein Hauch von Ironie und absoluter Melancholie in ihren Texten mitschwingen würde.

Sänger und Gitarrist Lukas Klein bringt dies auf den Punkt, wenn er singt: "Heute ist es schön, ja, heute ist ein guter Tag / Alles ist im Fluss / Jaaaaa, alles fließt den Fluss hinab". Klingt erstmal nach Positivität à la Kalenderspruch, doch etwas ganz subtil melancholisches liegt darunter. Auch die Zeilen: "Der Tag ist komisch / Und wirkt ganz so als ob er ohne dich auskommt / Das kann unmöglich möglich sein / Die Welt sie braucht dich insgeheim" lassen vermuten, dass es sich dann doch weniger um einen reinen Jubelsong handelt, sondern ein bisschen Herzschmerz mitschwingt. Diese Ambivalenz macht Buntspechts Musik so vielschichtig und interessant." (via egofm)
