어제 마지막 일정으로 여행자의 거리 '부이비엔(Bui Vien)' 길을 둘러보았습니다. 마치 일상에서 벗어나 다른 세상으로 통하는 마법의 다리를 건너듯, 클럽과 바들이 즐비해 있고 사람들의 함박 웃음소리가 물 넘치는 것처럼 끊임없이 흐르는 곳입니다. 강렬한 사운드와 설레이게 만드는 화려한 네온 사인, 시선을 빼앗아 가는 무희들의 춤동작, 지나갈 수 없는 인파들의 물결 속에서 부이비엔 밤거리는 여전히 살아 숨쉬고 있다는 것을 알았습니다. 밤공기 농도가 짙어질수록 길거리로 목욕탕 의자들이 즐비하게 늘어나고, 분위기에 취해 맥주를 마시고 있는 수많은 외국인관광객들을 볼 수 있습니다. 호치민시 조사에 의하면 부이비엔 길에 위치한 디스코텍, 노래방, 술집 등의 영업장 수는 대략 500개가 넘는다고 합니다. 잠깐 지나쳤을 뿐인데도 몸 속으로 사르르 침투한 젊음의 흥겨움과 도취적인 여운은 여행객의 심장소리를 쉽게 가라않혀 주지 않는 것 같습니다. 주말 아침! 호치민의 무더운 열기를 벗삼아 하루를 시작해봅니다. #부이뷔엔 #호치민가볼만한곳 #호치민명소 #호치민여행자거리 #호치민1군 #buivien #buivienstreet (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam에서) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjdXihnPOjr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Our BuiVienture! 

Before coming to Vietnam, we had already heard how amazing bun cha is. If you don’t know it, it’s a delicious DIY meat and noodle dish 🍜 You basically throw as much meat, leaves and noodles into your bowl of broth as you want, et voilà! 

So with hungry, excited tummies, we headed off to tourist and backpacker area Bui Vien in central Ho Chi Minh City. 

We had heard that people queue for this place called Bun Cha 145, so we decided to see what the hype was about. 

The restaurant delivered. Every aspect of the dish was delicious, and we even managed to eat the massive amount of greens that was provided! We washed it down with Saigon Beer (for Jarrod), a magnificent-looking coffee (for Natasha), plus a couple of iced green teas (hydration is an issue here) and went on our way. 

Our next detour was Trang barber shop. A speedy haircut and beard trim for Jarrod was very affordable, and they did a decent job. However, it wouldn’t be our first choice. 

To put a cherry on top, we found an Innisfree! It probably hadn’t been that long since the last time - in Korea - but it still felt like ages! The untold joy!
